PastorAIO: Ol boi, it's the slipperiest slope that anybody can choose to stand on. The Bible makes so many mistakes all the time everywhere. Even internally, it is internally inconsistent with itself.

As it is written in Isaiah the prophet: "BEHOLD, I SEND MY MESSENGER AHEAD OF YOU, WHO WILL PREPARE YOUR WAY; Mark 1 verse 2

If God wrote this, surely God himself would know his own inspiration and know that Isaiah the prophet said no such thing. The writer of Mark was quoting Malachi 3 vs 1. He got muddled up and attributed it to Isaiah. Now, would God make such a mistake.

And let's not forget how these people like to jump and dance if someone else should make the slightest error in quoting the bible, even spelling mistake sef. So we see, according to them, God demonstrating ignorance of his own scripture. How they most look down on God for that?

It was even on this thread that the OP was trying to start a parade, even a pageant sef, over a line about kissing the son. If that was worth the brouhaha then how much more will he dance over God not knowing one prophet from the next.

Mark 10:5

“When a man takes a wife and marries her, if then she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some indecency in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce and puts it in her hand and sends her out of his house, and she departs out of his house,

Deuteronomy 24:1

According to Jesus Moses wrote laws that were not issued from God but rather were a compromise to the recalcitrant disposition of the Israelites. Yet these laws are part of our God given biblical laws, according to some bibliolaters.
How much of the OT is a directive from God and how much is Moses' own tinkering?

i think most of the customs in the torah were mainly that.
Do not use two fabric, if you kill your slave you shouldn't be punished, bla bla bla.

Politics › Re: Why Does Jonathan Use Israeli Bodyguards? by Ubenedictus(m): 10:23am On Jul 29, 2014
Culled from canary birds

Shouldn't giving the nation's security personnel adequate training that meets the challenges of the 21st century be priority than just taking care of only the nation's #1 citizen?
Nonetheless, I am aware that Jonathan won't be the first to garrison himself with foreign bodyguards - President Teodoro
Obiang of Equatorial Guinea has long been doing that - which clearly indicates lack of trust and confidence in your own citizens.

The big question is how safe are the nation's secrets in the hands of these people especially, Israelis with their siege mentality. Israeli do not believe they have a friend in the world and that everyone
including their greatest allies USA, could be potential enemies one day.

If you look back at history, the Operation Thunderbolt by Israel in 1976 at Uganda's Entebbe Airport was successful largely because they had sensitive security information about Uganda and more importantly, the Airport master plan.

I wonder how Jonathan will be able to withhold sensitive national secrets and expect to get an all round-the-clock maximum protection from the Israelis.

However one looks at it, something will have to give...at the end of the day. Security is not just about gun-toting, beret-wearing, fierce-look personnel surrounding someone; when it comes to a head of state, it's much more than that.

FOLYKAZE: So God fought along with his pepole on the hills but lost on the valley because of Iron of chariot?

How omniless-potent is he.

Ok, Iron grind stone, rocks or mountain.

Drift? ? ? ? ?
Lol
you are now beating a dead dog. You want the bible to say what it refuses to say. Judah didn't drive out the people of the plains because of their iron chariots that is what the bible say. Stop grasping at straws.

Show me where they were defeated on plains.

Make sure the bible verse state plains o.
this is just insincerity!

If you wish to lie and say you didn't see the passage then i'll rather discontinue the discussion. I don't have time to debate with someone who refuses to see what is before him.

The stupid servant told the king to attack in the valley and the bible says the king harkened to their voice. And you are still asking me to show you?

If you are insincere then i have no time to waste.

God of the hills is not allegory.
He dwell on mount sinai, this is not allegory.
where does the bible say "God dwell on sinai"?

His name mean God of mountain, this is not allegory.

3 against a failed 1. Huh?

lol

Hypocrisy ke?

Mountain or rock could mean different thing when illustrated in context. It could mean strong or fertility. This is not the prob.

The point is;

The name is written as Almighty 'conventionally'. Didnt you see that on wiki?

So far, some bible have denounce this lies and claim that name mean God of mountain. Who is lying then pls?

If El shaddai is Almighty, what is El Jareh or El?
some scholar think it means "god of the mountains" and they wrote it on their translation of their bible, while so many other have consistently held and translated its true meaning, as a word coming from the root shadad meaning the mighty or the strong.

So compare 1 bible against the hundreds of bibles.

FOLYKAZE: Ube en! Lol
Do you read the passage at all? The Lord was with Judah.

That is the secret of their victory. Because God was with them on the hills and not on the plains.
and again i repeat, the scriptures are clear on why judah didnt drive the people of the plains, it says "because they had chariots of iron.

Mind you on that thread, I pointed out servant of the king of Syria called Benhadad informing the syrian militia on positioning of attack against Israel. He was informing them victory can only be achieved if they attack on plains or valley as Israel God is of the hills (1 Kings 20:23).

This is obvious. . . .the war was lost on plain because Yahweh is the God of the hills.

Not that Judah do not have weapons to attack chariot of Iron.
hahahaha!

You have put yourself in trouble, after that stupid servant told his master that lie, the exact opposit happened, isreal smote syria on the plains.
1 kings 20:25cc-30,
...and he harkened to their voice and did so.
In the spring benhadad mustered the syrians and went to Aphek to fight against isreal. And the people of Isreal wre mustered and were provisioned and went against them;the people of isreal encamped before them like two little flocks of goats, but the syrians filled the country. And the man of God came near and said to the king of isreal, "thus says the lord, 'because the syrians have said "Yahweh is a god of the hill and not a god of the valleys," therefore i'll give all this great multitude into your hands and you shall know that i am Yahweh"....

Continue reading and see how the syrians died in the plains. Yahweh showed them that he was both God of the hills and of the plains.

This is metaphor.
it is, my point is, he is describe using many imaginery, stop trying to restrict him

You cant round this for 'God of hills'.
Lol
Cherry picking huh?
You missed this. . .
you are accusing me of cherry picking? There are about 3 different middle eastern interpretation of shadai and you decided to pick just one, and you are accusing me for picking another, is that not hypocrisy? El-shaddia for me, is from the root shadad, the ia is honorific, it means God the might one. If u decided to pick another meaning that is unrelated to the God of isreal that is your business

Adding what could expose the mischievous lies contain in the bible;

Why did you ignore that?

Cmmon sense should have make you see that El is the supreme God and it is best translated as God in the modern bible. Some translate it to Most High but some of you guys confused Most High for Yahweh.

In many cases, Elohim is used and we have translate of God. Elohim is a plural while the translation God appears as singular. To worsen it all, your bible have it as Yahweh.

Pr0ton: Dear ubenedictus.. I've had a nice time with you.. And as I leave you I'd like you to be aware of these wonders you leave me with...

If he's no longer a dung why does he still go to the priest for confession and absolution. Maybe he doesn't really believe that fact. Maybe he is partially no longer a dung. Who knows. But before he starts quoting 1Jh 1:9 he should know that that verse is not for believers as John is sharing the truth with the Gnosis who believe sin doesn't exist and so they never sin contradicting God's word in Rom 3:23.

Another wonder is why does he still count his self-righteousness as something, behaving as those in Matt 7:22 who Jesus would quote Isa 64:6 to.

Yet another wonder is what fruit does he think we bear. I believe the fruit he speaks of is the type even unbelievers can bear (good works). Maybe he should reconsider the last sentence in John 15:5 and understand the essense of Christ's righteousness.
But who knows..

Good day Friend.
1. 1jn 2:1
jm5:15
jn 20:23.

2. I do not believe in self righteousness. I can not he righteous by myself that is why i have grace.

3. I understand that passage, do you understand jn15:2?

FOLYKAZE: Lies
Judge 1:19, it ends on mountain. That was why Mortal men defeated him on plains.
please improve your comprehension, that passage say, i'll quote fron v18

Judah also took Gaza with its territory, and Ashkelon with its territory and Ekron with its territory. 19And the lord was with Judah, and he took possession of the hill country, but he could not drive out the inhabitants of the plain because they had chariots of iron.

That passage doesn't say Yahweh can't act on a plain, it instead says that Judah couldn't drive out the nations in the plain because of the superior amory the nation possessed. Judah didn't have the right weapons for an iron chariot.

In that verse, some bible put 'His Ancients' in place of Elders. Meaning there are living ancient God that has been before The Lord of Host; Yahweh. Who are they?

How can you be greater than your ancients?
this is what your wikipedia article say

[b]The meaning of Shaddai may go back to the original sense of "shadad" which was "to be strong" akin to Arabic "shadiid" (ﺷﺪﻳﺪ) "strong".[1] The termination "ai", typically signifying the first person possessive plural, functions as
a pluralis excellentiae like other theonyms of the Hebrew God Elohim and Adonai.
The possessive quality of the termination had lost its sense and become the lexical form of both Shaddai and Adonai, similar to how the French word Monsieur
changed from meaning "my lord" to being an honorific title.[2][/quote]so my dear think again.

frosbel: ^^^^

I liked your post purely because of your honesty and I wish ALL of us will emulate this , instead of insults and name calling.

However, the main reason why Christians in general say that Jesus had to be born without a human father is precisely for the reason of not inheriting the adamic nature which is not consistent with the fact that Mary also had this adamic nature. Now if this is the case then the foundation of this concept almost totally falls apart.

Back to the issue of seed, a human or plant can only be produced through one seed. For example if I plant two bean seeds they will produce two bean plants not one bean plant and the same is true of mankind. This poses a problem because Jesus was supposed to descend from David through this seed, but if this seed was not the seed that was planted, then that connection is broken.

The simple truth of the matter is that a lot of text in some of the gospels are ambiguous , in some cases by error and in many cases through intentional tampering. The Catholic church is behind the myth of the virgin birth, perpetual virginity of Mary, ascension of Mary and many such Myths and Fables which Paul warned us against.

You also mentioned one KEY fact which many have missed. Jesus could have sinned but he chose not to and this is why God elevated him to the highest place of glory , this is why he has been given the everlasting throne to rule over all nations in the eternal kingdom of God which will shortly manifest itself.

Thank You.
i see we are back to your main point, "it can't be right because the catholic church infected it".

First of all truthislight , I am grateful that you took the time to help with these questions.

Before I continue, it is important that I establish that my faith is Jesus Christ is unshakeable and even stronger than ever, however it is equally important that we remove myth from fact and fable from reality.

Can I kindly suggest that you answer the other 2 questions when you have some time.

In response to your answer to my question 3, here are a few problems with your explanation :

1. If he was from a WOMAN, where did the seed come from ?
2. If the seed was direct from God then how could he have been a direct descendant according to flesh and blood.
3. How could he have avoided the sin nature since his mother was also a sinner. ( I believe Jesus was sinless because he chose not to sin not because he was born sinless ).

Thank you again.
i noticed your no.3, you say you believe Jesus chose not to sin, not that he was born sinless. So please explain, do you think that Jesus was born according to the adamic nature, without grace and a child of wrath like everyone else?

I think my question is have you also thrown away the teaching of original sin?

Right now i don't know where to start, i can understand if you don't really like mary and all thing concerning her, i was around when you rejected both the trinity, the divinity of Christ and his pre existence, i was around when you shared your concerns that the catholic church corrupted the bible, it seems you may soon reject the virgin birth of Jesus, so please tell me so i can know where to begin.

How many people did he manifested to in the sea or wall?
What in essense is this manifestation? Is it talking or what?

Did he also choose to be defeacted by mortal men on plains?
Where?
manifestation is a display of his power or of his presence, and as i just said it wasn't limited to the mountains.

Back all these up dude.
back what up?

I wasnt the one that give him the name 'God of the hills:. It is there in your bible. I wasnt the one that call him El-shaddai which mean the God of mountains.
correction schaddia doesn't mean "of the mountains", it means "The Mighty One".

The evidence i put across polishing those claims in the bible is yet to be refuted.
what evidence?

Lets go for the greek word the bible was translated from. I am sure your packet of bible is dubious on this.
you can check all the bibles, it will tell you the same thing, the is God of all living things.

Also, can you stress on the two verses I submitted? Are they lies? Why did Yahweh inherit if he is the owner of all?
he is the owner of all, and he chose isreal for his inheritance, that passage doesn't mean some other god gave him isreal, it means he took isreal as his own, it is a covenantal term. As you'll see in ps 135.

Is psalm 78:71 and Deut 32:8-12 lies?

Yahweh is the son of El. He is Elohim. . . .meaning the children of El.

Therefore there is Higher God.

This is the being he Inherited Israel from.
now who is he denial!

In scriptures yahweh say, there is non greater that me and non besides me.

Catholics agree on there forum that God has a place they dwell. In this place, they are being worshipped and they tend to have all there powers there.
Yahweh dwell in mouth sinai.
He manisfest on mounts
he is worshipped on hills.
He is powerful on Mountains which is the reason mortal men defeated him on the plain.
He is the rock of ages.
Having his church built on rock

Do I need to stress on the meaning of one his name?

To nail it all, I wasnt the one that said Yahweh is the god of hills. It is there in your bible. Evidences provided above confirmed he is the god of hills or better put Orisha Oke.
hahaha, i don't know which catholic agreed to your thesis, but i certainly disagree.

My God is everwhere and unlimited, he chose to manifest on mountains because that is where the ancient isrealites would feel close to him, after that he established them in their own land and they built a temple and he still manifested his presence there, all through scripture you continue to see his manifested presence, in the ark of the covenant, even in the red sea, in jericho....the list goes on and one, his manifested presence was never limited to the mountains.

Lastly he manifested himself physical and substantially in his son Jesus Christ.

God isn't just the rock of ages, he is also a shepherd (does that make him the God of sheep?) he is also the i am who i am the very cause of existence, he is also a mother to his people (does that make him the goddes of women?).

My God is unlimited.

Bro stop living in denial. This is interesting.
I continue doubt if you really read your bible lately.
What you have there is supposition, you just wish but not providing any tangible evidence.
How can the God of all inherit?

In Deut 32:8-12; Psalm 78:71, Yahweh inherited Jacob and took allotment of desert land.

Yahweh who is Elohim is the son of El. From El he inherited Israel.

Again, your God is not the God of all but of the hills
then i guess you should read jer 32:27
jer 32:17
num 27:16
num 16:22

they all say that yahweh is also the God of all living things he created them all. So why are you trying to restrict him to the hills?

If you are so interested in God's inheritance then you should read psalm 135, isreal wasn't alloted to him by some higher god, yahweh is the highest, he is the most high, he chose isreal for himself.

Ps 135 v 4.

For Yahweh has chosen Jacob for himself, Isreal as his own possession.
5. for i know that Yahweh is great and that our God is above all gods. 6 whatever he pleases he does in heaven and on earth, in the seas and all deeps. 7 he it is who makes the clouds rise at the end of the earth, who makes lightnings for the rain and brings forth winds from his store house

you may get a bible and continue read, Yahweh not shongo is God of lightning, Yahweh not yemoja and olukun is the God of the seas and the deeps, Yahweh not obatala and oduduwa is the creator of all living thing.

The yoruba religion see all the mysteries of the world and ascribe it to one god or the other. There are not 401 gods, there is just one God responsible for all the stuff.

Have a nice day.

God is not a trinity the bible never teaches that. The doctrine of trinity originated from paganism. And lastly the bible told us that there is only one mediator/intercessor between God and Man, that person is Jesus, he is the only one appointed by God to plead for us. DrummaBoy: A very apt quote towards the convention.

Let me relay a story, I hope I get the details bc its been sometimes I read it:

On 31st October 1517 Martin Luther approached the doors of a prominent cathedral in the city of Wittenberg and nailed a 95 point theses on the errors of the RCC on its doors. By the time the dust settled, the Reformation had begun.

Three prominent figures spearhead the reform efforts of those days: Martin Luther (Germany); Huldrych Zwingli (Zurich) and John Calvin (Geneva). They agreed on three major points on Protestantism: Justification; Sola Scriptura; and Priesthood of all Saints. But they disagreed on minor issues like the Lord's Supper.

Luther would have been killed by the powers of Rome if not for the rulers of his country who, for reason God alone knows, were ready to defend him, even with military might. Zwingli did not have this advantage in Zurich. The point arrived when Zwingli and his followers had to defend their doctrine and lives against the encroachment of Catholic military. Luther looked the other way, possibly bc of differences in doctrine. Zwingli went to war and was killed.

John Calvin had suggested a middle point for Luther and Zwingli on the matter of the Lords Supper. They both refused it. Today the view of most non Catholics on the Lords Supper follow Calvin's interpretation.

Morale: The bible commands us to hold the truth in love. Not for truth sake we forsake love or for love sake we forsake truth. The worst of heretics are still mostly honest men and most of us have been in those shoes before.

I trust God to give understanding.
seriously dear, that is a terrible example to give, be very happy there seem to be neither lutherian or presbyterians on the thread. That arguement wasn't about a "less important point of doctrine", at least no lutherian or catholic will agree with you.

Depending on the forum, the "example" you wrote above could cause a big arguement, we would be having the 16th century all over again, the presentation of the "example" is another.

I could have fun poking your example full of holes.

Pr0ton: Titus 3:9-11
"But avoid stupid controversies, genealogies, dissensions, and quarrels over the law, for they are unprofitable and futile. As for a man who is factious, after admonishing him once or twice, have nothing more to do with him , knowing that such a person is perverted and sinful; he is self-condemned."

As you can see, I'm not actually running away. I'm doing what the word says.
thank God i never even discussed the law with you. What i discussed is your heretic once saved always saved. The scriptures also say in the later men men will teach different strange doctrine.

I'd love to spend my time with someone who counts himself as dung, realizes his great need of a savior, and who's ready to accept the gospel of grace which is able to save his soul eternally.
sorry dear,

i WAS dung, i WAS in need of a saviour, i WAS! Now i'm in grace, i have a saviour, i continue as st paul says to die daily to flesh, i continue to work out my salvation with fear and trembling, i continue to go before the throne of grace when i sin, i am still in Christ who is the true vine. I don't go about deceiving other and myself telling them that "he who does not bear fruit will be left on the vine" i don't lie to people, i tell them the truth, that he who is in the vine can be cut off and he will be cut off if he produces no fruit.

That is the true gospel of grace and i believe it. Take the heresy of luther and calvin and throw it away.

But as for heretics like you, this is what I will do...
Act 18:6
"And when they opposed and reviled him, he shook out his garments and said to them, 'Your blood be upon your heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."
hehehe, if you are clinging to your errors, then truly your blood is on your own head.
