Nicepoker: The thing is no other country needs the naira. We export very little meaning our foreign exchange earning isn't much. So where will you get he dollars to import that rice, beans and yam. You will use 2k to buy a cup of rice at the end of the day. The solution should be for the government to buy food items from farmers then subsidize It for the citizens. That's short term fix. Akwa ibom is proposing that |

Governments of eastern states should learn from Lagos about delivering big projects. Truth. Bureaucracy |

Politics › Re: Tinubu Meets Service Chiefs Over Rising Insecurity by ubox: 9:08pm On Jan 16, 2024 |
Dobodobo04: How does Tinubu solve insecurity. In the interim, there are few ideas.
We need ordinary citizens to be able to safely and anonymously provide intelligence and tip offs to security agencies across board with rewards offered if information proves useful.
How do we facilitate that? Currently, SIM cards need to be registered. We will design SIM cards in such a way that if Kabiru from Abuja buys a SIM card from any vendor, he can use it call any designated security agencies toll free and anonymously. He can easily throw the sim away afterwards. To get his reward, a code will be forwarded to that number and he can go to any cash machine across the country to receive his money and do away with the sim. Obviously, not all infos will be rewarded. Only infos that lead to security gains.
We also need recruited informants across the country, from banditry, kidnappings, terrorism, ritual killings, cultism, etc.
Once our security agencies build pictures, they should be proactive in predawn raids. They should have well trained intelligence officers and call handlers in offices to weed out and disrupt them in their planning stages.
We need special operatives to carry out these raids, and can partner with USA to train some of our elite soldiers to SEAL level. We can assign a formidable army officer to head the task force.
Once we start disrupting and arresting the criminals, we should charge them to court with evidence.
Minister of Interior also need to build mega prisons, US style manned by private companies under the guise of the government. Anyone charged should be sent to prison. We need bigger modern prisons that are functional and humane. No more overcrowding because with this new set up, we will be anticipating plenty criminals will be serving jail terms.
We also need well trained hostage negotiators and special task force that can storm hideouts, perform safe rescues and lethally engage with the criminals.
I currently won’t trust the current security operatives in our country to attempt hostage rescue. They can be better with advanced training from partners abroad.
I’m the long run, all our security agencies across board need refresher courses. All rank and file over the years should either train with formidable foreign partners or go to those countries for training before they get promoted.
Most of our security agencies have bad habits that needs weeding out, so continuous training is necessary All of this na serious money |

seborrhic: Shameful. He doesnt know the kind of poor aesthetics it gives that he is holding his own meeting after Wike had had meeting with heads of Abuja security agencies. The COS should have told Wike to delay his meeting till this one held by Tinubu, unless Tinubu had no original intention to call any security meeting until he held about Wike's own. He would be making Wike feel like one untouchable star of the administration now. Very somehow something |
