Politics › I Chose To Use Ibom Air To Demystify Governance, — Akwa Ibom State Governor by ubox(op): 7:26am On Aug 20, 2023 |
I CHOSE TO USE IBOM AIR TO DEMYSTIFY GOVERNANCE, LEAVE MY PREDECESSOR ALONE — GOV ENO
Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno, has justified his recent patronage of the State-owned commercial airline, Ibom Air, fir official engagements outside the state, explaining that the gesture was to promote the brand and offer him more insights into the operations of the airline.
He has also confirmed that the immediate past Governor, Udom Emmanuel is not with the official Governor’s jet as being insinuated in some quarters, urging Akwa Ibom people to desist from maliciously induced and baseless allegations that serve no good intent and purpose.
The Governor was fielding questions from newsmen at the Victor Attah Int'l Airport shortly on arrival from official engagements from Abuja.
He explained that his position as Governor of the State, has made him the chief marketing officer of the airline fully owned by the State, stressing that his decision to travel on board IbomAir was to observe the airline’s standard in service delivery, which he described as spectacular and workd- class, which is the reason why the airline is the most preferred by air travelers in the nation.
He used the opportunity to debunk the speculations that he traveled in the public transport because the immediate past governor was in custody of his official jet, describing the speculation as unfounded and baseless.
Pastor Eno wondered what the people would say when he would travel in the soon- to be launched palliative buses that would be introduced to cushion the harsh effects of fuel subsidy removal( will the people then turn around to insinuate that the immediate past governor has taken over his official vehicles?
He maintained that his style of administration is to demystify governance, so as to enable him connect easily with the ordinary people.
"We are promoting Akwa Ibom Brand and the state -owns hundred percent shares in this airline, by virtue of my office , i am the chief marketing officer of the airline if you may ask. My job is to promote our brand.
"We are planning to bring buses as part of the palliative. We are in talks with some companies. When the buses finally come and I board one of those buses, would people now say the immediate past Governor has taken over my official vehicles ?
"There is no truth whatsoever that the immediate past Governor is with our aircraft. This is not just the kind of things we should be talking or arguing about. Akwa Ibom should move beyond this sort of cheap talk.
"Again, I want to put it very clear that everyone has his style of leadership. My own style is to demystify governance. I like to get in contact with people, and I like to be myself. This Government thing will come and go. So what is the big deal?”

What Nigerian doesn't know most ministers aren't picked based on merit but as a compensation for political support?!!
Tinubu hasn't done anything new or different so far in office... Which is a shame. But tbh without support you don't win elections, ask Atiku and Obi |

All is just to prep him to chop money for 2027 so as to contest Oyo Govornship.
So if you are expecting stable power under Tinubu, just know you ain't getting nothing. It will be all a joke and a ruse They didn't clear Ruffin, that was the initial plan I guess |

BoldBrainz: Ibom Air and their small aircrafts though. No space to stretch or spread your feet. You have to crouch while standing if you're a tall person. Though their pilots are way better than Arik and Max Air. Worst is Dana Air. You'll think life is ending when their pilots are descending to land on the airstrip tarmac..😢. True, the CRJ is quite small tho and will likely make economic sense to the airline. They do have an Airbus in their fleet as well for high traffic route i guess and have made plans to purchase more.. |

Politics › Akwa Ibom State Governor Goes Through Security Checks To Board Aircraft by ubox(op): 3:36pm On Aug 16, 2023 |
Mr Umo Eno, governor of Akwa Ibom, was on Tuesday spotted playing down protocols at the Victor Attah International Airport in Uyo, the state’s capital, to board an aircraft.
The governor who was heading out of the state for an official engagement joined passengers to pass through security checks at the airport before boarding Ibom Air, the state’s airline.
In Nigeria, it is not common to see government officials going through security checks at local airports as they’re usually ushered into the aircraft through very important personnel (VIP) routes.
Sharing his experience on his official X handle (formerly Twitter), Eno commended the airline for their excellence and commitment to customer satisfaction.
“Today, I had the pleasure of using Ibom Air for my official engagement outside Akwa Ibom state, and I must say that the experience exceeded my expectations as usual.
“The seamless check-in process, comfortable seating, and friendly cabin crew created an environment that made my journey very enjoyable,” Eno tweeted.
Below are photos of Eno going through security check and boarding the aircraft.

Tomek09: Akpabio was building needless flyover in a state with no population and economic activities without first lifting the people from poverty. It's not only flyover that he did, he did free and compulsory education from primary to secondary, free medical for the aged, inter-ministerial empowerment and construction/rehabilitation of cottage hospitals across the state among other things.. He lifted a lot from poverty and those people were in turn to lift others from poverty, some did, some didn't. Also government is a continuum |

Who will pay for it. How come anything that has to do with inefficiency is always pushed to the citizens in Nigeria then govt spin doctors like you are sent to browbeat the people into silence.
