Kobojunkie: Them tell you say the problem is lack of people to do the work?? We have MILLIONS of unemployed people right there in Nigeria that can handle the work. Again, are they LEPERS? I dont think Fashola is making this call cos of a dearth in man-power. Skills and INVESTMENT might be the reason for his call. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Georgia's President Derides Nigeria To Score Political Points. by Uche2nna(m): 9:51pm On Aug 19, 2008 |
The guy obviously lacks tact and diplomacy and as a Nigerian You might be hurt that your country is mentioned in such manner.
However, he needed a standard of reference to drive home a point and Nigeria provided one. If a different country was ranked with Georgia at the particular time frame he was making reference to , I am sure he would not have mentioned Nigeria. I think it is about time we stopped getting sentimental and taking issues like this personal but rather look at the real reasons why we are referenced in the first instance.
I frown at his lack of tact and diplomacy but I can't say I would quarell with the veracity of his outbursts. |

EloSela: @Poster It is a full time job/career to be an athlete in America or Britain. They get paid salaries, get free healthcare for any sports injuries that they may incur. When they win and become world champions they also have a very good chance of attraction millions of dollars or pounds in endorsements. Now what would does one get when they become a full time/career athlete in Nigeria? Probably become an agbero at Mile 2 or Oshodi. Government support is non existent |

KarmaMod: I do Uche. I don't want that face representing Nigeria. If you have a problem with that, you can always cry in the corner
Was that really necessary?
I perosnally can't stand the whole "British with Nigerian parentage" nonsense. It's so stupid. Yeah, not in a beauty pageant. But in the Olympics , hell yes. As far ,as she gat the legs. Na face I go chop @ Manmustwac U can make ur point without the insults |

onyinye2: All that he did was so childish. There is a ginormous difference in being happy and grateful and showboating. Watching him pound his chest and run around the field just took away from the glory of the event. Maybe U should go and take away his gold medal and while U at it strip him of the record also. Hmmm, ur siggy is deep. Where did u get that from and do U actually know what it means? |

No , you dont. U might run tracks but not the way he does . If U did , U wont be sitting behind a computer terminal while ur mates are winning laurels in China. Showboating, If u got it, flaunt it!!!! |

nazzyon: It was not because of their name; it is because they were not as popular as popular as the Brazilians then., and
If you look at the present Argentina players; their squad is made up of Stars and most especially Mascherano & Lionel Messi , a contender for World best player twice in a row.
Our boys did it back in 1996, lets hope that these boys will prove to the world that names & experience does not count in front Nigerian footballers.
It is a dream but we can make it a reality
Shalom What r u talking about? Lets take Kanu for instance, He had already won the Japan 93 with the Eaglets then and I believe he was part of the all conquering Ajax team that swooped Europe like a hurricane. At the time of the Olympics , he was headed to Inter milan. He might not have been the most popular player then but he sure was worth his weight in gold. Lets not even go onto Oliseh or Amokachi who had already featured in US 94 world cup. Oops did I forget Jay Jay, Oh my!!! |

Queenisha: There was another folayemi somebody that ran for Netherlands. Thank God he came last just like that coconut headed obikwelu they should be ashamed of themselves. However, like the last post mentioned, these guys should not be blamed. The Christine of a girl would not have smelt bronze if she was in the Olympics representing Nigeria. Early, intensive and sustained preparation count in any tournament (ask China) but sadly Nigerian officials are yet to learn that. |

MandingoII: Argentina 3 - Nigeria 0
Nigeria is going to be nervous and inept - and "happy" to be there.
Totally disastrous Everybody is entitled to having an asshole. Going by other predictions (including that of some Nigerians) , the Dream team should have left the tournament in the quarter final stage when they squared up with the CIV. All I heard was Gervinho this, Gervinho that. Now the tune has changed to Messi this, Messi that. Messi and co are good and that is why the Argies are in the finals. Obasi and co are also good and that is why the Dream team is in the finals as well. I remenber the Atlanta 96 team that squared up with a brazilian team that had Carlos, Bebeto and the indefatigable Ronaldo. Even some TV commentators wrote the Nigerian team off. They easily forgot that we also had Kanu , Babayaro , Amokachi , Oliseh. Maybe because those names sound Nigerian |

You women should get this idea out of your head that men chasing you necessarily mean you are good looking. Is there an alternate hypothesis What else could it mean |

Uchenna, take note o: For our anniversary, I want something shiny, black, has four wheels and the symbol LEXUS in the front!!
Yes, you can bring the flowers, our kitchen table would look nicer with it No, for my man, I'd do more for him than he did for me. I know that naija men are not romantic, but I'd reward him for trying You see why You would always rate high in ma books. Sometimes I forget You are a teenager U reason like an adult |

onyinye2: To me flowers mean alot. I have always adored them. Every morning i go outside, do my meditation next to my garden of passion flowers. So what is wrong with a guy buying me a bouquet of tulips(my fav)Oh yes i will. If it means that much to U, then let him know. I am just saying that the purchase of flowers (or lack thereof) is not the only way U can express love. And most Nigerian men do not express love that way. Something u need to bear in mind before u say "I do". About buying utensils from Walmart, correct me if I am wrong but I always thought that Walmart has a section for flowers. U can buy ur flowers alongside with ur utensils |

It is ok to do that and not that expensive but I am just saying that I would rather buy something else than a buy a flower. However, if the woman in question makes so much fuss about that , then I would get her some flowers. Ruby_Pearl: Me too! Just hope he buys it with something special. . . .something shiny or sth green Hmmmmmmmm, |

He sent me the biggest basket of flowers at the hospital at the birth of our babies. But flowers are not the test of romance though. Some Nigerian men are slow at catching on. Just manage him if he doesn't buy them Bottom line, Dont go into ur marriage expecting that kind of gesture of love. |
