sayhi2ay:Well, I don't know what grad programs You are talking about. The ones I know about are listed somewhere in my former posts. Those ones guarantee You a scholarship once You are accepted. They even pay a huge percentage of your transport fare and once You arrive , You are put on some kind of payroll. |
@ Ogb I am not questioning the location where the bulk of the revenue is coming from. I am questioning the statistics that says the North comprises of half of the nation's populace. |
ogb5:I have a problem believing that statistics |
viclee009:The question is " where did the majority of those leaders come from"? ![]() |

davidylan:Thats the problem right there. We always tend to use our own sense of quantification to apply to Christ's teachings. Unfortunately, He is divine and we are only mortals. Whatever your own sense of quantification is does not apply to Christ. He has shown that a number of times. A few examples: First with the feeding of the multitude with a couple of loaves of bread. The disciples figured that the bread was too small and the people too big. Secondly, when he was leaving he said he was coming again very soon. Actually, some of the disciples and followers at that time figured that he was going to come back sooner than that. But the heavenly time frame is kind of different fromt eh world time frame . Same thing with quantification. There are over 1 billion muslims , How many christians?? Is that a discontionous count or a continous count? Better put, are You telling me the number of muslims at a particular period of time or are u telling me the number of muslims that have ever lived. Still, your argument does not really answer the question of how it is heaven is only made for You and your sect. Talking about sect, u always slip out whenever I ask about your sect. But u don't have a problem putting other sect under a dissecting microscope ![]() Anyways, I am outtie. I would leave You and other religious fanatics on this thread ![]() |
Well, the South South have realised what a particular region of the country have been saying for decades. I dont blame the North for becoming apprehensive. Who is going to fight to keep this country again together when the bubble finally bursts. Is it the South South? Those guys have lost faith in the Nigerian govt. Is it the middle belt. Last I heard they wanted an identity of thier own, hence the name middle belt. Maybe the Igbos would be the one fighting to keep this country together with our beloved northern brothers ![]() |
davidylan:Just wondering how the above posts prove or disprove the fact that only david and his sect is going to heaven ? ![]() One thing was clear, Jesus had more than 70 followers before he died. So I dont know what U hope to achieve by throwing that number at me. ![]() |
davidylan:How do You know You are bound for heaven? Christ chose a few for his ministry and had multitude of followers even before his death. Maybe the parable of the good samaritan means nothing to you. Thats the same perception that the Jews had and that was why it was difficult for them to accept Him. We are all supposed to be gentiles and doomed from the start. |
sayhi2ay:Its not that tough. Competitive , yes . And You don't actually need a first class, a good second class upper is all You need to be eligible to apply. I don't know if You are a science student but if u are and u are planning on going to grad school in one of the biomedical/molecular biology/biochemistry fields then a good GRE score, a 2 one and 3 strong letters of recommendation is enough to get u a scholarship (tuition and stipend). |

Personally, I believe that heaven is too big for only just one sect. |
If this country is to adopt a true federation system of governance, it might as well be carved up. In the Nigerian context, what is the essence of having a weak center with strong regional dominance. Who is going to be benefitting from the so called center? What do the different regions have in common that would warrant a weak center in the face of strong geographical regions? Is it culture, religion, language or ideology that would make us still want to associate at the level of a weak center. Lets face it, the only thing that Nigerians have in common at the federal level at this mooment is the National cake. Once the center is deprived of that, then it becomes redundant. Me thinks practising true federation (in the Nigerian context) is just a way of over looking the issue and pretending that we dont have a problem. |
Then maybe it is no longer a diary Why dont u just call it a log? ![]() |
Orikinla:Having lived in the North, I would have to agree with u there. However, the average northerner would quickly give u the impression that they like the status quo like that. I spoke to a couple of them during my NYSC sojourn and it was an eye opener what thier opinions were. However, that should not detract from the issue. Whatever the Norther elite was/is doing with the revenue that was allocated them should not obscure the fact that the National cake has been unevenly distributed. |
@ siatawoman Why keep a diary in the first place when at the end it is gonna end up being burnt ![]() |
A region of the country that produces 80 percent of the Nation's wealth should not be considered as a minority in the first place. |
vicade:That, my friend , is not a problem of the students but rather the system which the students found themselves in. The Nigerian educational system is set up in such a way that students have no other option than to cram , cram and then cram some more. |
ibkaye:Good question ![]() |
Viante:Not everything is meant to be personal , You know. I went to a Federal university and I can name a million and one stuff that is wrong with the system. Its not personal, abeg. |
4 Play:I dont know about that. However, what makes the Govt schools far off better than most of these private institution is the lecturers they boast off. They go a long way in compensating for the lack of facilities. In my dept we had very little resources to carry out any meaningful studies but the academic staff comprised of seasoned personnel in the field. I never knew it until I had to get letters of recommendation from them. |
Dont worry, ur school is at the top of the basket ![]() |
Convenant Babcock Igbinedion Madonna E.t.c I put them all in one basket. One might be at the very bottom of that basket but the fact remains they are all in the same basket. Not that the Federal and state universities are any better but like someone earlier posted , U just have to make the best out of a bad condition. When the poster was reeling out what was wrong with Madonna , I was like this is familiar Apart from the religious angle to it, schools having no books in the library, cramped accomodation facilities, frequent disruption of electricity , lack of exam halls, missing results (should I go on ) is very common in all the Uni's be it state or Federal. All U have to do is to stress it out, make ur results and hope for something better. As long as the stress wont kill U, it would make u stronger in the long run. Believe me, I know!!! Been there, done that ![]() |

[quote author=Okija_juju link=topic=156651.msg2600874#msg2600874 date=1217717497]I have a sat nav I brought back with me from France. When i try to relate it i doubt it will work. My reasons being on like europe where everything is planned, town-planning is very effective and the network of roads are organized, In Nigeria, you can wake up tomorrow and find out that someone has bought land on third mainland bridge and has fenced half the road diverting traffick to a new road. I remember driving from Paris to London with my sat. nav. It was superb. Try driving with sat Nav from Lagos to warri and see what happens. You'll find yourself in chad. Abeg my guy leave this matter. If you have something like that post a website and convince us. N/B; As I was typing this post, over 50,000 street names have been changed, Over 50,000 streets have been blocked, another 50,000 streets have been opened, some streets have been changed from streets to close to avenues to canals.
