I was only reacting to your post and since You felt slighted by the choice of ma words , I apologised. He has to be at least stable in the beginning. If trouble falls throughout the marriage. . . i would be more than willing to step in. But not with Nigerian and their sex buddie Ego. Na uh. onyinye2: You pretty much just insulted me throughout this post. Anyways. . . . . don't even go there with me. Seriously it is a very dark place. Don't try and assume who i hang out with or down pour on a culture other than yours. It is so not needed nor respected. Seriously. Most Nigerian men what. . . . he shouldn't put himself in the position in the first place. These will be the same men who will be insulted if his caring and loving wife offer to hold it down for a while. Tsk. LMAO Did not mean to. I am sorry U feel that way but I usually associate throwing out the man in the street with some certain group of people. Ruby_Pearl: He sees himself as a poor man because he is not satisfied with what he's blessed with. Good point!!! But my dear, thats the way the human mind works. We want more , more and then some more!!!! Ruby_Pearl: people just need to learn and realize that they can't have everything. Thing is, if you're not satisfied with what you have now, what say you, when you do get what you want? Will you be content or will you want still want more? I agree with that |

onyinye2: Especially with me. If he thinks am his little charity ticket. . . . . he betta wake up. I have no problem throwing someone onto the streets. Wont even flinch. It is not even about U, Marriage comes with a lotta responsibilty. Feeding the kids is one of them. As for U throwing someone onto the streets, why am I not suprised. U don spend too much time with all these akata. Nigerian men are not like that ooooo. Most Nigerian men I know would rather die than allow thier spouse and kid go hungry. |

Ruby_Pearl: there are poor men, and there are POOR men ok.
having an apartment, eating 3 meals a day, clothes on ya back, excellent health, happy hme etc, is def not a poor man Poor is a very loose term. It is also very relative. If that guy You described above meets a homeless man in the street, then he considers himself rich. However, if he meets someone like Warren Buffet then he is poor onyinye2: I said wouldn't marry a man who could barely feed himself. . . . i mean i have standards. Honestly, a man who can barely feed himself has no business getting married. |

onyinye2: You ever said that i judge man by his pocket book? You are the one giving everyone the impression that all women are gold diggas. Aint like im going to be some housewife. I will be working too. And if things happen that he aint the breadwinner, then i will be right there to fill in that position. Then your point about not marrying a poor guy does not make sense. U still ended up with one |

McCain is trying lure Hillary's supporters. Now thats a laff. Hillary's supporters might be die hard but they are not die stupid. They might not vote for Obama but they are sure not going to vote for a republican, especially for a guy named McCain. For those saying saying that Obama and McCain are tied in the polls, when was the last time U had a peek at the polls? Anyways, for all it is worth, thats a very good move by McCain tho it is not gonna save him. Lets wait and see how Hillary would react to this. Her loyalty to the party might be put to the test. davidylan: i did a report on the use of STRs in criminal profiling once. It still isnt 100% perfect, now imagine you were using the same to detect similarities in civilisations that existed 3000yrs ago.
Data interpretation is dependent on who is writing the paper. I ran into the same issue sometime this yr and its still a problem trying to explain the contradiction - 2 authors (with varying evidence) show that my protein of interest when phosphorylated is able to form an important protein complex . . . another group claims the very same protein when you block phosphatases (an indirect way of phosphorylating proteins) actually disrupts the same protein complex. How do you explain the disparity? All studies used valid techniques and i have infact observed BOTH phenomena with the same protein . . . Data is what it is - just data. Interpretation is what gives it a life of its own. Thats completely different from what U were (or at least what I thot U were saying). I am sure both investigators had two completely different set of data and thats why they are arriving at different conclusions. Its not as if they were looking at the same piece of information and were having different conclusions. Something must be wrong somewhere if that was the case. Ur scenario is a common occurence in science. Go thru the Journals and U would see contradiction littered thru the literature. About ur protein, Theoretically, proteins might do different things when put in different contexts. So ur protein might have some contextual angle to it that noone has figured out yet (ph, pka values , tissue or even cell type specificity) and this might be the cause of this disparity Its kinda intersting U brought this up. I hope that is not what ur thesis is based upon cos U might be hitting a major limitation in the world of phosphatases. We know (at least we think we do) all the kinases and thier substrates but to the best of my knowledge no one has characterised all the phosphatases present in a cell and thier substrates. Anyways, I would really like to read those two papers with opposing views , can U send me a link or let me know what journals published those two stories? |

I usually try my damndest to avoid arguments like this that basically leads no where . However, I was going through some of the posts and I can't help but butt in don't worry i would soon butt out DNA evidence, Well, DNA evidence is still a work- in- progress. Its all about finding the right markers to follow. Once those markers are found DNA evidence can be very convincing. I read about microsatellites and variable tandem repeat and it blew me away on how much information our DNA contains. So similar , yet so different. Data interpretation, Of course You can interpret your data whichever way You like and make it turn out whatever way like but the rubber hits the road when You have to submit it for a peer review en route to publishing the said data. Thats the beauty of Science. your data should be reproducible anywhere in the world and also any other scientist should be able to arrive at the same conclusion that You did. David, I don't the views of your proffessor but my PI actually makes me read a paper by just looking at the data alone. Read the abstracts and intro and then go straight to the figures. That would make You arrive at your own conclusion even before You look at thiers. |

shawn123 link=topic=164268.msg2717812#msg2717812 date=1219916796: @Deepzone, am a bit disappointed at your post regarding the northerners. In the past you have posted brilliant comment, well who knows what went wrong.
Isnt it funny that the northerners are exposing these cases, we all know that there are more curropt leaders in the south south but no complaints because the people are simply scared, it is called intimidation. With all Sincerity, and anyone who has gone to Bauchi would testify, Bauchi state has more and better (state governement) infastructure(roads) than Bayelsa, Edo(esp Benin) state. You now begin to ask what do the southern governors do with the allocated money from federal government. Even if the Federal government has failed south south which i agree completely, what about the people of the land ie their own elites (the governors, chiefs, kings and commisioners). There is no doubt that these people are the richest leaders in Nigeria. Anyways it doesnt only apply to south south, even my people self in the south have issues You got that rite!!!! Even the small allocation that trickles down the FG to the local govt councils is enough to make tremendous changes to each provinces. No way!!!!! The local govt chairman go just choppam!!! Likes dada said, the whole place is a mess and the mess knows no religious nor tribal boundaries |

Ibime: lol. . . I guess your school didn't sing 2-12 times table like we did in primary 2.
Anybody that attended my primary 2 class must be good at maths because we sang that every morning at class assembly. We used to call that morning tea!!!! Oh, boy how I hated mornings then. I was unlucky to be in a class where the tutor valued mathematics more than any other subject. His theory was then "Understand mathematical problems and all other subjects would be added onto You". Every morning this guy would make us sing the times table as a whole class and he usually picks u out if he suspects u are just mumbling To redeem yourself, You have to sing the stuff solo in front of the class!!! That really helped me a lot, |
