Oka Uche, you are refusing to buy simple flowers for your one and only true destined love of your life who holds your heart dear close to hers with all are God giving might, you won't even bother to buy her one white rose?
There are other simple things to buy. Things that would last longer than a white rose. Unless U want me to get those plastic/ artificial flowers. I can do that.  grin

You don't have to buy a bouquet of exotic flowers.
If you live here in the USA,a small bundle of roses at Publix or kroger will do

you can even find very cheap deals at train stations or from roadside Mexican hawkers lipsrsealed
how will she know?
grin grin grin grin

Try bringing flowers to a naija girl. She happily accepts them and then turn back and ask You "Okay, where is the gift now"?

To most of them, flowers are meant to accomapny gifts. So why bother. Just buy the gifts and leave the flowers alone.

Personally, I would not even want to buy something that would wilt away the next day.

Rob was never my boyfriend, just my best friend. A very very very close bestfriend, but bestfriend none the less.
I aint disputing that fact.

The fact I am a little bit suprised about is that he is a best friend that sleeps on the same bed. This same best friend has admitted to having some feelings for You.

I was taught to avoid the occasion of sin, and sis, thats is one of them  grin

I think it depends on the man. And the situation is more tricky given the fact that the man has some feelings towrds the lady.

I would just sleep on the couch. Thanks but no thanks.

sistawoman:
For me it would be the same.  I have a best friend that asked me out about a year ago.  I told him the same thing I saw him as a brother and just could not cross those lines with him and nothing has changed for me.

We still see each other all the time and before I got married he still came over and slept in my bed right next me.  We still hang out.  He still drives to my house, about and hour from his now, and stays the night in the living room.

He will always be my best friend, even knowing that he wanted to date me did not change that friendship for me.  We have been friends for 15 years.
Mmmmmmm, Ok

This is personal vendetta and we all know.
Kinda sounds familiar to me  grin  Unless if U are telling me that Ribadu NEVER used his office to carry out some form of vendetta on Baba's detractors.

Ribadu was doubly promoted without due process.
Ribadu now is demoted maybe without due process . I dont know what the hue and cry is all about  huh

Last I heard, two negatives make one positive  grin

It is not even race card here
My post was general and more of a response to the title of the thread.

agaba123:
Why not say he picked it in their african trip?
Same here. When I saw the newsflash, I was like "why not say Africa" why must it always be Nigeria.

But then, if they are really sure , then You can't blame them. Like I have said in my earllier posts, there is 90 percent chnace that they could tell where he picked up the virus if they knew what the virus is. Most viruses have well known incubation time.

He who dines with the devil (no matter how saintly U are) should do so with a long spoon. Ribadu just paid the price.
I acknowledge his accomplishments but due to his association with Obj there is always gonna be questions on some of his activities.

I think if due process was not followed in giving him the double promotion, then Ribadu should be the first person to protest against it. Aint he the EFCC chairman then? I thought ensuring due process was carried out was part of his portfolio undecided

@ agaba

It is tempting to look at it that way. When I first saw the headline, I sighed. But then U have to ask urself, what will the medic staff of Man U gain by telling such fables. U guys dont even know what kind of virus the guy picked up and we already playing the racist card sad Are U telling me that within the time frame they were in Nigeria, that he could not have picked up a virus. undecided Apart from the sentimental race card, do U guys have anyother evidence that he did not pick up in Nigeria.

DRANOEL:
@uche2nna

remind me apart from biafra any other serious agitation from any body
Well if U are asking me if any other region engaged the whole nation in a civil war, then no. But those problems that led to the civil war is exactly what is playing out all over again. Only that this time it is not coming only from the Igbo's quarters. The events folding out know show clearly that all is not well. And my point is that, if it is continued to be ignored, overlooked or de emphasized, then we dont know where the hell it is gonna lead. The civil war did not start over night. Cumulative events led to the secession attempts.

U want a serious agitation? Like what? A blood bathhuh
SportsRe: Manu Is A Racist Club. Now Rooney Is Down Cos He Picked A Virus In Nigeria: by Uche2nna(m): 3:36pm On Aug 06, 2008
Slow your row there, mate

Viruses have incubation time , some take 24 hrs while some take longer than that. Medics can easily (with some approximation , sha) determine when You caught something. So unless we really know what sort of virus he got infected with then You can't say for sure that the story is baloney.

Last I checked, some viruses are air borne?  undecided  So You really don't need to sleep over.
PoliticsRe: To Hell With Your Oil, North Tells South by Uche2nna(m): 3:27pm On Aug 06, 2008
DRANOEL:
the summary of every thing said and done here is that the south is lazy, or how else do you call a man who keeps blaming his neighbour for his woes?
I am not going to absolve the South from the many problems of Nigeria. We have contributed our own fair share.

Point now is not who is guilty or who is not. My major concern is the way foward. If the Nigerian union can no longer work due to percieved genuine or speculative reasons, is it not about time we found some way else. The North is calling the South lazy, the South is doing the same thing. Tell me how Nigeria is going to prosper with all these finger pointing.

Every tribe in Nigeria seems to bear some major misgivings about the Nigeria set up. It is either we face the truth and find a way foward , or we move foward independently or we stay together as one unhappy union and keep on having the same round about arguments. Does it not bother anybody that Nigerians  are still having the same argument decades after independence. This was the problem that faced the pioneers of Nigerian independence, I grew up listening to these kind of argument from my parents, Now I am holding the same kind of conversation with You guys here. If the status quo remains the same, my kids might also end up having the same kind of arguments. Is that the kind of union we want huh

@ Dranoel,,,

U call the South lazy? Is it not an irony that it is the south that is for the most part fed up with this kind of union and would want a change?

CultureRe: Two Questions On Igbo's & Ijaw by Uche2nna(m): 9:06pm On Aug 04, 2008
DeepZone:
Are you saying the west is happy the north is ruling over them and are contented with their sub par status in Nigeria? I disagree with you that the west is a deal breaker, explain how they can achieve that without bloodshed like the Biafra? Which Yoruba man will leave his mercedes Benz, nice mansion and education to fight a nomad at the expense of his good life? Can't you see the writing on the wall? The north has all the aces, they know too well that the ibo or yoruba will not tamper to fight them b/c they value their lives more than them else, how do you explain someone that went on barbaric killing because of a stupid cartoon in a Danish tabloid?

The crux of this issue is ideas and like thinking. The northerners reason like their brothers in Niger and Chad and lord Lugard would've done a great job if he amalgamated them. Southern Nigeria would've been better off amalgamated with Ghana. If you think the Yoruba will lead the secession battle, think again because it ain't going to happen and the ibo will not try again because they've tried before. The truth is that i would've been happier now if Biafra succeded b/c the west would've had more guts to leave those Mfuckers.

Ask yourself, what the Niger Delta is asking for now, was it not what the ibo saw nearly 40 years ago?  Do you think that if the Bifra was to start today, the west and south south will still support the hausas. Think again. Nigeria is in more trouble than you think. I still believe the Oduduwa republic shall rise one day with no BLOODBATH in Jesus name. May all our oil wells dry up, lets see if these moochers won't leave us alone.
I can't agree more with the highlighted sentence.

Nigeria is a ballon just waiting to burst. Who is going to bail the cat this time around?

It is funny 40 years after the civil war, this generation is still having this conversation. You can't solve a problem by postponing it.

Food for thought,
If this country eventaully disintegrates , then the efforts of those that died tring to keep this nation one would have gone in vain.
