I also recently started receiving bank alerts from FCMB and I don't have any account with them,well I didn't bother myself I just ignored it,do you guys mean it might be dangerous for me to have ignored it?

This has been going on for awhile na,thought it was something new �

are you suppose to go for prepaid metre or they bringing it down to you? I bet you, if succeed in applying for a metre, I doubt you'll get it the next six months if not more.
the agent might be rigid at first but persist. the outrageous billing is in their favour, for the reason that you inability to service the bill means you will bribe them which favours them more than paying clearing you bill.

on a more serious note this thing can be killing and traumatic. I went as far as fighting going on a verbal assault with one of them.
who ever the agent or marketer covering your area is in good position to help you. talk him into helping you out with it. even at times some agents go back to their office telling them to inflate the bill.

you make him see reasons like the effect of the bill on you, it's obvious it is bore a hole in your pocket.

You can say that again,I can't cope anylonger,I have tried talking to someone but all he could tell me was to go and apply for a prepaid meter

I pay between 10,000 and 12,000 naira every month for a 3 bedroom flat. They say my Metre is bad, so i am on estimated billing. There is no way Thunder will not strike all their family members. It's complicated. Just make sure you don't lose the phone that has your phone number tied to your bank account. It might give fraudsters an inroute to defraud you if find yourself in that situation.

So if you ever lose your SIM, immediately block the SIM and block your bank account to avoid stories that touch the heart.

And I have been busy since going from one lawyers office to another in search of where I can do a cheap Letter of administration for my late dad's accounts, when I would have just used the account and buy something online and avoid all the stress the banks are making me go through.

Yes you still be scammed. The phone no tied to your account can be a point of target.

If you did not request ATM card from your bank and you get defrauded via ATM, you bank is liable to refund you.

Yes they can. There are websites that use otp for transactions. Once they call the victim and the victims give the account number, they will use the account and phone number to initiate a transaction where an otp will be sent to the victim for reconfirmation. Once the fraudsters call back and the victims give them otp, that is all.

Unfortunately the problem is not with the bank. I work in a bank too and funnily enough we also get this calls. This situation is the downside of BVN enrollment. Once you are enrolled, the data captured is not secure, it seems anyone can access the info on it but they still cannot defraud you unless you give them the information they ask you once they call you.

But if you do not collect atm card from your bank can they still scam you?

bvn is just used to tag how many account u have linked to ur name, thats how they scammers use to know ur bank details.

the only way u can loose money is if they know ur card details and ur email or phone number

when dey purchase something mostly online, a code is sent to either ur phone or email not ur bvn with dat code dey complete their registration thats y scammers always ask for date of birth.

if they ask for date of birth only it means they already have ur card details.

so no, bvn with them is like ur name with them
