Romance / Re: He Wants My Cv (curriculum Vitae) by uf4oma(f): 3:20pm On Mar 01, 2009
There was nothing desperate about my action in giving out my number. The guy in church is well known to me and we belong to the same group. When he approached me, I sat him down and asked him a few questions. In fact, it was all very funny to me, because my parents had tried to do this sort of thing in the past. It really used to piss me off. I didn't just meet the guy in church. I've know him for almost a year.

Whatever the case may be, of course I've ignored the two idiots. Arrogant pricks like someone said. Marriage and going abroad are not the top priority for me. I've been there, done that. So no need to tripping. THe whole thing was actually hilarious.
Romance / Re: He Wants My Cv (curriculum Vitae) by uf4oma(f): 3:50pm On Feb 27, 2009
@okija juju, so women in ur village send cvs in order to meet guys? I don't think it has come to that.

@ crazykid, I had no intention of replying the silly text but on second thoughts I think I will and I've written a few stinkers. Just don't want to be labelled as being rude in church otherwise, I would have sent them. I want to get counsel from a few trusted 'crazy' friends and on nairaland. Men with such mentalities should not be allowed to walk around unhindered.

Just to add: the guy is urhobo.

That's a bit drastic isn't it? Ask him to send his own cv with his bank statements.lol
LMAO. I think I might just do that. I've told my friends and we all can't stop laughing and being mad at the same time. It's hilarious. The cheek of the monkey!

Romance / He Wants My Cv (curriculum Vitae) by uf4oma(f): 6:52pm On Feb 26, 2009
Yes, please have a good laugh.

A fellow church member approached me in church some weeks back. He said he has this friend abroad who's been bugging him to help him find a wife ( marriage by proxy lol). He said he saw me on that Sunday and something kind of clicked, so he decided to tell me, I shouldn't take offense bla bla bla. Anyhow, I decided to humour him, thinking, why not? I've heard and seen many such cases, though, things that happen to other people tend not to happen to me. So I gave him my number and email add and told him to tell his friend to get in touch, we can take it from there.

After the initial anticipation for a few days, expecting the call or email, which never came, I woke up to a text on my phone this morning from my arrangee-brother, telling me his friend wants among other things, my CV (curriculum vitae), He also gave me the friend's phone number and email address and said I should call the guy. I was gobsmacked, thinking, has it come to this, so I have to send CV to get a husband, biko nu?

I found the whole thing both hilarious and unbelievable. He wants my CV. What a laugh.

Ngwa, nairalanders, over to you. CV for husband, lol.
Health / Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by uf4oma(f): 10:14am On Feb 05, 2009
Thank God for you doctors in the house.

My question: 2 days ago while helping to set up for service in church, my feet started cramping. When I took off my shoes, my big toe was pointing in one direction while the other four were pointing in the opposite direction and this caused indescribable pain. I tried massaging them but it didn't really help. Anyhow, someone said I should put both feet under cold water and I went and did that. The cramping did stop but I still feel pains in both feet. I've never experienced cramping in my feet as such, on my legs, yes, sometimes I've woken up in the night with muscular pain as if the muscles are pulling; but this feet cramping is really new to me. What could be the cause? I was not wearing high heels on that day, though I'd been in the shoes the whole day. Slightly bulky one inch heel.

PS: I don't usually wear heels that much because of our rough roads, mostly on sundays or when I'm going out in a car.

Thanks for your time.

Virtually every internet is ok when its first launched in nigeria. Imagine using free internet in the United states with a capacity that can carry up to 5-7 computers in a nigerian cybercafe. What a world we are living in nigeria.

You are so right. I've used starcomms evdo for over a year now. Up till the beginning of the year, it was ok. Now all of a sudden, you can actually cook, eat, sleep and wake up before a page opens. I have resorted to waking up in the early hours like 3am in order to get any decent work done on the net. Promises, promises they all make, all we pay for is shakara.
Romance / Re: What Are Your Pet Peeves? by uf4oma(f): 11:34pm On May 10, 2008
Guys with long nails especially the small finger, what's that for? Being touched unduly especially by the opposite sex, e.g rubbing my back when you are greeting me. Very annoying.
Crime / Re: Pastor Murders Wife Over Girlfriend by uf4oma(f): 11:07pm On May 10, 2008
What a sad story and needless loss of life. A case of Satan taking over the man and sin leading to sin and leading to the death of an innocent woman. This was something that took place over a period of three years and neither the so-called pastor nor his girlfriend repented of their adultery and the church did not think it wise to sanction such a person but turned a blind eye as is typical in the christian community and left him to carry on in such a position of authority as pastor and now he has brought reproach to the name of Christ. God help us all.
Religion / Re: The truth your pastor would not tell you about tithes by uf4oma(f): 8:52pm On May 03, 2008
@anomini, you are just a confusionist. Where did I say people must pay tithes here? Your brain surely seems to be working overtime. shocked Besides, I don't see any meaningful contribution you have made in this thread other than gatecrash it and attack the people who have a different opinion from you. A little knowledge is very dangerous, far worse than ignorance and you should keep that so-called superior knowledge in your pocket. It smacks of spiritual pride; dangerous.

My stand: Don't pay tithes, noboby said you must. But don't run around telling people not to. That's why we are all free moral agents.

Also, check out this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=272.0.

The Word is already settled in heaven forever. It says in deuteronomy 'thou shall TRULY tithe'
Psalm119v142 Thy righteousness is an EVERLASTING righteousness and thy law is THE TRUTH.Any other truth is a counterfeit brethren. The scriptures do not contradict each other. You pray 4 and seek understanding. You'll understand.'THESE ye ought to have done and NOT TO leave the other undone'
Well said, brother.

@poster, you need to be open to the Spirit and teachable. That's the hallmark of true faith. No one is insisting you should tithe but you seem to be propagating a gospel of 'thou shall not tithe' to others. That's wrong. Jesus said our righteousness should exceed that of the Pharisees. For all that was wrong about the Pharisees, they kept the law to the letter and even though their hearts were not right before God, they were sticklers for the letter of the law. If our righteousness has to exceed theirs, then we definitely have to do more than they did. Tithing is good and has blessings attached to it. Nothing in God's word is bad and we should not run around telling people not to carry out any part of God's word. If the problem is with the misusing of the tithe by some so-called pastors, those same people will equally abuse any kind of giving. And the abuse of wealth by pastors in the church is a different matter in itself. Let's be careful the sort of things we preach.
Religion / Re: Christians Beware Of Oprah's New Religion! by uf4oma(f): 12:58pm On Apr 24, 2008
I listen to Oprah, I watch her shows and I like her. I'm not interested in what religion she subscribes to. She's a worldly person but she's done more good for people and has encouraged more women in my generation than most churches and Christians I know. She's fulfilling her purpose. Even those who preach the authentic gospel of the Lord get bashed all the time. Oprah has never pretended to be a super spiritual woman.

@lawyer, I see that with your broken heart is your complete loss of a sense of humour. You are living a tasteless life and taking great pains to justify your lifestyle. I was just giving my sixpence ( abi no be so them dey talk am). And there's no need to get derogatory, I was only trying to bring some playful banter into the whole, extended diatribe. @lawyer
to think of all the space u've taken on this particular thread to espouse your theory of 'do me i do u', i actually think urs is a cry for help. i don't know how u can be so cold and calculated. how can  the end of one relationship become the end of any form of real commitment for u? how long can u carry on this way? if everyone took it so bad then the world would be full of sadists like u. u sound as if u r the only guy a girl has ditched and as if that girl was ur entire world. if someone doesn't want u and u think u r good material, it is that person's loss not urs. u move on and believe again. please seek counselling. u desperately need it and ur heart is still bleeding for this girl after over 4 years of the end of the relationship. talk about being stuck in time. na waoh. as if heartache na new thing. na u first experience am. if u like come back come counter me i ready for u. if u be my brother, i go sound that ur head. nonsense. angry

@ u4foma,
I can't never support a single girl dating a married man , it's immoral. But at same time, Once you don't have a suggestion ,better read the post and let go. What do you have to achive by refering to her former post? It's not good enough. Dont be offended please !
@ poster,
Consult a physician to know the side effect , if there is a way out, fine !be prayerful and seek for God direction.

@ sagacious are u and odichi one and the same person? i expressed my observation because there seem to be a lot of confused people out there, saying one thing today and coming up with another post the next moment. it makes one wonder. and i simply expressed my bewilderment at the sudden switch. i am still scratching my head.

We learnt about the weighter matters (Matt 23:23), That they are many things that are great concern to God. As Christan's we are to have mercy (Luke 10:25-37), Justice (Luke 11:42)and Faith(Heb11:1,6). We are to seek God's righteousness , his will, and pay our tithe (Heb 7:4-9).
we also talked about things like paying of first fruit- the bible did not command any body to pay the first fruit to the pastor- first fruit is usually spiritual not material, it's honouring God for the things he has done in our life.

I agree and am sharing the damages charitably grin

Any problem with that? Do unto others what they do unto you! Is that too hard to understand? I don't care what you think about how emotionally damaged you think i am, but you have to agree that there is love in sharing such emotional damages around grin

The joy is being emotionally decieving my self and learning how to decieve other women.

Remember "FRIENDS WITH BENEFIT", You should try it, its fun!

I am actually wondering how long ago this happened to you and why you would choose to still carry such baggage around. Do you enjoy it? You are not handling it well at all and the more you are in denial, the more entangled you will get. Bottom line: PLS GET OVER IT.
