He clearly is a poor financial manager hence the the two times recession under his watch, from cutting forex releases for business men/foriegn students etc(yet releases it to politician and pilgrimers) to closing land border on food staples without meeting the countries domestic needs, to increasing fuel cost to N145 without any provission for cheaper energy source(including high electricity tarrif), food production is greatly reduced through killer herdsmen, Dangote would complete his refinery by 2019 yet nigerian govt cant fix ours since 2015.

It is quite shocking to say the least that emmanuel Kachikwu, a man who had been overseeing the petroleum ministry was not able to access the president 2 months after returning from UK. I expected that the first person Buhari should hold a meeting with should be this man.
One thing is clear. Kachikwu is juuts a figure head. The real people running the ministry are the cabals.
No matter how good he is, the buhari cabals will never see anything good in kachikwu. The GMD would rather deal directly with the presidency via the cabal.

Now that kachikwu has cried out, watch out- the dirt diggers will soon come out with report of dirt in some of Kachikwu dealings.
As for NNPC GMD, nothing will happen to him. He has paid his dues to the cabal.

With all the money available to Akwa-Ibom during Akpabio, I just wonder why they never contemplated building a modular refinery in partnership with a private company.

That would have industrialised the state to some extent and draw some other industries in. Fertiliser would also be produced as a by product to support Agriculture.

It's success can even serve as a template for building more of such and providing the fuel that region needs.

A major problem the states and the FG has now is an overbloated and unproductive civil service.

When more funds accrue to a state govt, they just go on an employment spree. Trying to make a point that their govt created employment. Ironically, they are supposed to spend the funds to stimulate the private sector to carry out the employment and in return provide tax income to the State.

But what do we have, in times of plenty, the states recruit massively, and when resources go down, the state suffers. The civil service, which is highly unproductive just consumes a large chunk of the resources leaving meagre for capital projects.

When you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything. I don't take Nigerian elders and elites very seriously. Nothing really good can come from many of them. Bunch of prejudiced, greedy, myopic old men.
