Ronaldinnioh: So what will they do? Nothing but to keep quiet. The student's are at fault and the lecturer felt that sending them out for coming late will give them the excuse to go away and be happy self. So he decided to use the late comers to serve as a deterrent for others to learn their lesson. So from today it will unheard of student's came to his class late. It's either you come early or you stay back home without coming again. And you are rationalizing this despicable act? Na wa. |

SweetBoyFriend:
It's very very easy to lure a girl and have sex with her
You have a girlfriend and she goes out everyday, at least 200 men would try to hit her up every 8 months, i tell you what *She will not say "No" to those 200 men
99.9% of this new era ladies do cheat(excluding our mothers because they're not olosho like these Instagram age girls)
Just give them that attention and pretend you love them and act like a fool for them, they will have sex with you
Remember how many married women who tried to have sex with you ?? That's that's exactly how your wife is trying to bang other dudes What makes you think our "mother's era" was better? Those women who were frolicking with powerful military men those days 70s/80s were aliens Abi? Though I agree things are worse now, but those ones were not innocent either |

Donald7610: It depends on your mom She has control over that than anybody I don't think so tho... I think it depends on the family as a whole, because if only the mum is the one speaking to you, and your dad does not, his own side of the family does not, and the child does not see the need to communicate with his siblings in that language, it is a list battle. |

kjhova: I did a class debate on this matter once in my university days. I proposed that Education in Nigeria should be based on the top 10 languages (by population) up to SSCE levels. Oddly, the majority verdict at the end of the debate was against my proposal and in favour of English Language. My opponents raised a few points of opposition which I attend to below. Some made sense but most were downright absurd.
1) We will be promoting 10 languages at the detriment of the remaining 200+ languages in Nigeria.
Ans: We have already promoted English at the detriment of ALL Nigerian languages!
2) How can we possibly translate technical subjects like physics, thermodynamics, cost accounting, anatomy etc to local languages?
Ans: All of these courses are also taught in Finnish, Danish, Urdu and Mongolian. The point again?
3) Promoting local languages will deny us the advantage of being part of global community which English language grants us.
Ans: China, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Dubai etc all zoomed from 3rd world to 1st without a single word of English in their educational curriculum. Point again?
4) How can we understand each other as Nigerians if we don't speak one language?
Ans: Our neighbour Cameroon have 2 official languages. There are many other multilingual nations; Switzerland, Belgium, India etc. A multilingual nation can achieve peace and unity. That your third point is not correct tho. Singapore educational system is in English and not Chinese . Le Kwan Yew made it that way. Developing is about being a serious people, not really the language per se. |

It's an unfortunate trend, but that is how it is.
It's good you know how to speak your language, but at the same time, you don't have to crucify yourself if you can't. |

Ironi: That is true.
I remember very well, their businesses and properties were not seized. That is not true.
They were given time to leave and many sold their businesses, sometimes cheap. Others sold their properties too and others looked for trust worthy Ghanaians to look after their properties for them.
My mother was a custodian of one of such properties for an elderly Nigerian, Alhaji Kano.
He later came back and lived in the same house with us till he passed. To this day his children and grandchildren live in the house.
Not a single soul was taken of any foreigner in Ghana at the time.
We are too peaceful and human for such killings.
Nigerians on the other hand, "scattered" looted, burned and killed many Ghanaians during "Ghana must Go". We know that. Who told you all these? |

PaperLace: The problem in Nigeria workforce is superiority complex. They forget there is something called division of labour and specialisation. There are accountants, bankers, economists, marketers, managers... they all come together to makeup the business unit and achieve a common goal.
There are doctors, nurses, pharmacist, paediatricians, gynaecologists... forming the medical unit.
None is greater than the other, but no_ in Nigeria, a doctor feels he is higher than a nurse, an accountant feels he is higher than a banker, an architect feels higher than an estate manager...the list goes on. 'and you wonder why we achieve lil or nothing in our various sectors. You just dey make sense back to back ni Twale |

PaperLace: Comparing CIBN to NIM has to be the most preposterous comparison I have seen in my life. CIBN and NIM are not and can never be on the same scale if truly you've passed through both or CIBN.
OP, globally? I can't really tell. In Nigeria? Yes. ICAN was everything till it became pertinent to have a certification for bankers or people in the banking industry. Some people think having certifications would 'automatically' land them jobs, I have seen jobless people with ICAN too. I have seen jobless engineers with HSEs. That said...
*I have seen people get jobs for having CIBN. I have also lost chances for not having one or being in the process of having one in the past. *I have seen job adverts specify, ICAN, ACIB, CIP would be given special advantage. Do you know more than the recruiters? *There is a level you can't assume without having one in the bank. *Maybe the people that commented above think banking is all about operations and marketing. There are specialised unit in banking, you need such certifications to function in.
Steps are currently taken to ensure every 'banker' has one. It has been done in the past severally, but kicked against. We need to have professionals and people enthusiastic about the job in that industry_ not any waka pass.
If you're a banker, who has done CIBN and it didn't influence your work ethics positively, just know you're part of the problem in the industry. This is very interesting. |
