pippimp:
They will never listen. God gave us the power to choose and Nigerians have chosen to ruin their country. I wonder why they are praying. They keep doing the same thing and expect some higher power to help them. What kind of mentality is this for God's sake? I am not surprise though. When you have people like ugosample running around in the millions, what do you expect? Nigeria's mentality is just mind boggling to say the least.
And you had to mention me here?
Na wa for you o.

You see why I say you are not exposed to the way normal people do things? The mere fact that you can say that proves my point. You've been there done that but it does not reflect in the way you think so what's the point?
grin grin

The society is in a pathetic state, I have travelled enough and lived briefly in different countries to know that, but I use that term "nigger" because you feel you are better than those you left behind because you got small exposure....

Oh please!

And how do you know how I think?
Sports › Re: Mikel Obi Donates To Siasa, His Share Of Japanese Surgeon's Cash Gift by Ugosample(m): 2:45pm On Aug 22, 2016
pippimp:
No there isn't. But there is a correlation between exposure and mentality. Exposure changes the mentality. This is why you still have a problem as a people. You have not been exposed to something better. You only know the same phucked up way. Need proof? Nigeria has been in existence for over half a century. What has changed? In fact, it's getting worse.
And you think I as a person is not exposed?
Or has been in Nigeria all his life?
I've got enough exposure over the course of my life tho, and I get what you mean because abnormal things are the norm here.....

But get off your high horse.
A nigger is still a nigger, even if he changes passport

She said they were bounced because they were unescorted, not because they were "single". There is a whole world of difference between these two.

Nairaland is beginning to practice some tacky and irritating brand of yellow journalism. I wouldn't know why, because this forum became A-list before the colouration of news and the 'bla bla bla...and this happened!' cliche started.

Not nice. The way we handle issues concerning money in Nigeria only demonstrates why Nigeria is known as the most corrupt country in the world. A subordinate giving money to his manager. Unbelievable. How does anyone not see a conflict of interest in this? This is not how you conduct business. You guys always allow poverty cloud good judgement. Did Buhari and late Yar'Adua not win 25% of votes in Plateau, Kogi, Kwara, Taraba and Benue states?

Can't imagine any Northern presidential candidate, more so, a northern Muslim presidential candidate, who cannot win 25% of the votes in Plateau, Kogi, Taraba and Benue states.

Southern Nigeria was fcukkked up politically through proliferation of too many undue number of states in the once one northern region.

Issue is that many southern Nigerians don't understand this.
Didn't Jonathan won 25% in those states too?
So what is your point?
In Land mass, they are bigger, do you expect them to have less stateshuh
The problem is two fold
1)First we vote along ethnic lines and
2) Southern Nigeria is disunited. And Yoruba and Igbo people will not stop bickering at each other...
If these two key ethnic groups align forces, the north will not see power for 30 years...., assuming we get the middle belt (or at least half of it) to cooperate

From atletes, to artisans, to medical practitioners and scientists.
We have been blessed with the best brains but cursed with terrible leaders.

Just imagine where we would be if we supported our youths?

Just imagine where we would be if most of us didn't dream of travelling to london or us in search of better lives cos we have all we need here?

This country can still work.
But these old men will have to give way first, then the country will have to be restructured too.

Ahaaaaaaa, you caught it. 2019 election is brewing. One Naija now at the hands of northern ex-military dictatorship class. IBB, methinks is also warming up.

Long before beginning of the last presidential election campaign, these northern people attended every important Owambe party in Yoruba land. They knew then that Yoruba votes were very vital to unseat Jonathan.
Now with Yoruba VP, these north people know that SE/SS votes shall be vital to beat the Yoruba VP.

Only a few southern states is what any northern presidential candidate supported by most of north needs to win presidential election in today's Nigeria.

Nigeria was politicaly restructured by northern soldiers who wrongly used Land mass as criterion to create 20 new Federal units in once one northern region, but only 17 units in once two southern region.

A presidential candidate needs 25% votes from 24 of the 36 states to win. North created 19 states and Abuja for north.

It's no more easy to restructure this in a democracy.
The voting patterns of Plateau, Kogi, Kwara, Taraba and sometimes Benue does not always go the way of the "core north" o.

Lemme tell you something, if those five states go rogue, Wahala dey for any candidate, ask Buhari in 2011 and Jonathan in 2015.

Am not comparing with present economy but am comparing with past value. For example. Chivita is 11cedis and that's like 550naira. Well as for me, Ghanaians are not friendly that's my own point of view. And likewise otherwise my colleague from Nigerians POV too... The only thing Ghana has that makes it better than Nigeria is light and by God grace we will get there. Apart from that nothing else.
Well, as you said, it is your point of view.
Ghana has more positives over Nigeria than the light o.

The safety
The schools (There are thousands of Nigerians in Ghanaian schools, but how many of them come here?)
Less bottleneck for those who want to start business.
A serious drawback to Ghana is that they don't have the market Nigeria has, if not many investors won't even bother coming here.
Even at that, they are moving from Nigeria to Ghana in droves.
They have faster internet and cheaper data/calls

They were friendly to me as I said before.

But the country is expensive as hell.
Maybe you don't like the country because you are not used to the environment.

Why are Nigerians (And by extension Black people) sense less like this?

Instead of us to encourage the boy, we are talking rubbish as if Rome was built in a day.

All the inventors of the western world and Asia started this way, and it was constant improvement that made them achieve what they have achieved today.

And you wonder why Africa is in an underdeveloped state?

If it were to be abroad, agencies and universities will be eyeing the boy, and scholarships to study and work in several institute's will have been prepared for him, but this is Africa, so I am not surprised

I am currently reading a book titled FROM THIRD WORLD TO FIRST written by Singapore's founding father Lee Kuan Yew.He graduated from a university in the UK, 'saved' Singapore from Malaysia and transformed the small nation to one the best in the world.

Looking at Nigeria's political terrain, these crop of politicians do not inspire hope and the youths are either busy defending these politicians or engaging in ethnic/religious bigotry, so they are out of the equation.

However, Nigerians in diaspora have been living in functional societies where there is security, good health care, constant power supply and citizens hold their leaders accountable etc.

I think that diasporians have big roles to play in fixing Nigeria. As a diasporan would you come back to contest for a political position? If no, why ?
Let me remind you that many of those who ruined this country are ex diaspora Nigerians

Bankole, Saraki, Ngige and the list goes on

Even Okonjo Iweala that tried to bring sanity to the system, she is being vilified today..

Nigeria will change when WE are ready to change.

if you are going there to STUDY, then why should you care how life is there? you are going there to STUDY and thats all that matters. when you get you degree, you leave.

now, if you are looking for a place to ESCAPE Nigeria, through BS student visa then thats another question altogether.
I don't see any problems with trying to study, then settling thereafter.
And someone studying too has to know about how life is there too, because the person won't be stydyimh 24/7 na, the person would still venture out..

Don't you think converting the money to Naira is the big mistake you people are making?

Look... The Nigerian currency has lost 50% of its value in two years, and it is sliding further down...
Converting to Naira is not a very right comparison tho.
I remember when 1000 was 20GHC, now it is 10 GHC..

My point is that comparison is somehow.

Besides , in my stay in Ghana, I really loved it... My friends I made over there took care of me, and the safety was remarkable.

They leave their doors open while going out shocked while in Nigeria we cage ourselves in like evolved dogs.

Every country has it's plus and minus tho, don't just write Ghana off like that, when our own country isntvmuch better.

It depends on how you see it, a lot of Africans (not all) see Europe as the land of milk and honey.
My wife (Nigerian) who still lives in Nigeria have visit me twice over here and will visit me next month again, the things she like is that for here all looks organised here (no problems with NEPA !), drinking water, etc, but on the other side she see also how expencive it is, even to go pee you have to pay, and she see also I have to work hard for my money, even not here I can get money from trees. On the other side I understand that some people want to explore Europe, I was many times in PH (not as a worker!) but to visiting my wife. As a see how many people have to strugle for live and what pleaces the live and how the be treatend by there own police force than I understand the want to go to the "land of milk and honey". I just warned people who go true the dessert, the few people who make it can tell you, the only people who are ok with it are the people who organised this trips, the don't care about your lives! the just care about your money, do you know how many of Africans are stranded and never get the other side? Every day on television I see the same story again, children and women who died in the boat trip and at least the survivors picked up by border controle and sending back.
If LastKing don't feel fine in Europe it must be easy for him to quit his job and return to Africa, no big deal, I think he can not deal with the mentality in Europe (everything must be on time, people don't speak to eachother like Africans do, other culture, etc, ) but when I am in Nigeria I have to follow also the rules of the place where I am so I know and I do.
One thing I agree: Europe have not the laugh that you people have, singing and happiness even in bad days.
I wish all the best for you all, and may God bless you and make this world a happy world.
