pickabeau1: Nice one is this in the main city or outskirts
What night spots are available? It's in one of Cotonou's best neighbourhoods. Five mins away from the airport. Nice area. The fun thing about Cotonou is that every corner you turn, you'll see a bar, lounge or something. Amazing city with unique energy. |

Abi una sister no follow for Naija girls? Who knows? She may even be worse. Back to topic It's your choice to make, whatever makes you happy, do it. However, if you are doing it to spite home girls, then something is seriously wrong with you! *Drops the mic and picks my shield * |

Chartey: This is the way to go if your luggage is small and you are very smart(cuz of dem border boys). An alternative is taking a bus to Seme, cross the border, then take a car to Lome, cross the border to Aflao and take a bus to Accra. If you love traveling and adventure, this is the way to go. Have you tried it before? How much did it cost? Am planning something like that soon. |

Not this Nnamdi KANU guy again. Why is this guy deceiving some of my gullible kinsmen? What Ndigbo should be agitating for in my own opinion is a better deal in Nigeria via fiscal federalism. Disintegration is not the answer. That is my view anyway. |

Ugosample: With this kinda attitude, Nigeria is going nowhere! It's always about competition and show off. The Nigerians at home trying to brag/show that they are better off financially than those in the diaspora and vice versa. Immigration is a matter of choice! Afterall, there're 15 million britons living outside Britain. If you wanna stay, stay; if not, leave. Simple and short. Dats all. And it is very unfortunate that this mudslinging between NIN and NID continues even in 2015. |

cutieme: @Ugosample,well my journey to gold coast country popularly known as Ghana was blissful.I boarded ABC transportation and off I went to Ghana.I got there around 9pm as the bus wasn't that fast throughout the trip.On getting there,I was greeted by well lighted environment I was so enchanted that the only thing that came out from my mouth was wow! There was light everywhere, the streets were as bright and beautiful as those those obodo Oyibo films we watch on television but I was more astonished when at dawn,I saw the real beauty of accra-a serene atmosphere, the streets as clean as crystals, very organised and no much traffic. The air was fresh and smelt nice and I couldn't hide my disappointment towards Nigerian leaders for the injustice done on Nigeria despite our status as the giant of Africa. Finally ,I began seeing their female homo sapience and I said MEN!see ikebe!Intact I enjoyed my stay there and fell in love with the country. That's good. Am planning a Ghana trip myself before the end of this year. So tell me, did you stay in a hotel? And how much did it cost then? Just curious. |

Overall, my Ivorian experience was cool. BTW, how was your stay in Ghana? a little detailed. My Cotonou experience would be shared later. |

So I guess this suits me better..... Nxt visit I would try the other route. And left with hotels.....and feeding.... Any advice? Decent hotel with decent price Thank you I stayed at guesthouse haie vive. I paid 15000 Francs per night, though there are rooms for 8000 Francs. The address is 213 haie vive It's beside Lambis bar. If you can afford it, that's the best thing to do. The bus fare is 6700 going, and 11960 for return ticket. They leave from their Amuwo Odofin terminal only. You need your passport and yellow fever card for this ticket though. On boarding the bus, trust me, you would have a pleasant journey. |

Travel › Re: Need Traveling Advice To Cotonou by Ugosample(m): 8:20pm On Jul 17, 2015 |
cutieme: @ugosample,true talk,so how the city,I mean Cotonou compared to lagos,I'm terms of electricity, security and water. And again will 70,000cfa sustain one for a month over ther Well the only thing I think Cotonou has over Lagos is that it is safe, very safe. You see gendarme everywhere to quell civil misdemeanor. Also, things are relatively cheaper there than here, and the major reason for this, in my own opinion is that duties are higher here in Nigeria. In addition, the roads in most cases are either well tarred, or not tarred at all. Electricity: NEPA dey take light for that side o, it surprised me. The light was off for at least seven hours!! but that was the only experience of power outage, so I'll say it's better. As for 70,000 Francs for a month. Hmmm make I no lie for you, that amount cannot sort out your food, transport, accommodation and other things like flexing and transport from Lagos to Cotonou. I know how much I spent within the short time I spent there. Hope this helps. |

cutieme: @ugosample,bro please how is the place compared to Naija in terms of living standard and Accomodation? How their women be too thanks. Living standards- If you have your money *like me* then you'll have a blast. Everyone respected me during my stay there because I had enough cash to spend, and was generous with it. Accommodation: Their hotel prices are fair sha, but if you near ibis hotel or Novotel hotel in Cotonou without much cash, you go smell pepper When money finish, na to go hustle for tokpa marker Lol. Their women? Damn...... *lips sealed* the ones that are not selling by the roadside or something are not bad, and most of them have fat a** Many of them were on bikes with their boyfriends, and were happy with what they could buy for them when I went to play zone, a leisure mall of sorts. Then if you are ashawo type, jonquet or zongo na your zone There is language barrier though. A beg manage this gist, I'll be back with more on request. |
Politics › Re: CBN Has No Option But To Devalue The Naira – S&P by Ugosample(m): 10:51pm On Jul 16, 2015 |
socialmediaman: Read Carefully and Understand why all this is happening
Exchange rate doesn't just get devalued because of what happened today, it is as a result of what happened yesterday. Buhari's government hasn't done anything that warrants devaluation of our currency. Observe that the report said the devaluation has been long overdue, they were probably waiting for GEJ to win the election before they told us the truth about how bad things had become, hope you didn't forget when GEJ told workers on May Day to prepare for hard times.
During the Global Economic crisis of 2008-2009, Yar'Adua had saved up to $62 billion dollars from the $43 billion OBJ left in the Foreign reserve before leaving office, the CBN used some of this to cushion the effects of the economic crunch...
Fast forward to the time of GEJ, Nigeria started witnessing oil boom again, GEJ couldn't save anything in the foreign reserve, he rather depleted it to an all time low of $29 billion dollars, he could not even invest the money he didn't save into the economy, not even after causing hardship on Nigerians after increasing the price of petrol, remember it was this same period that he started wasting 2 trillion naira on subsidy thieves, apart from that his government started granting fraudulent import waivers that caused Nigeria a loss of over $20 billion dollars, not to mention that his government through the NNPC mismanaged at least N3.8 trillion of Nigeria's revenue, it was all Jamboree. The most annoying part was that out of all these trillions, he could only afford to spend only N15 billion naira on Youwin project to create few jobs for the very youths who stood by him all through his jamboree government, but he was paying over 2 trillion to cabals who even abandoned him after he lost election.
Even with the oil price crumble, almost empty Federation account and only $29 billion in foreign reserve, Buhari was able to save $700 million in just 1 month to shore up our foreign reserve as a matter of urgency so that we won't be faced with hardship with the rising dollar, oil price fall and inflation.
Let's call a spade a spade, we are the ones who will suffer the financial crisis created by GEJ, we must support Buhari to recover all our money from GEJ and his cronies, they didn't steal money for us, thy stole for themselves and their families while we fight on their behalf, we must ask them to return our money. Leave only those who are being paid to support them them to do thier jobs, do not join them, let's all work together and put them to shame! Did you bother to reason why the Jonathan administration spent more? 1) The wage bill increased across board I.e. the minimum wage increased from #7500 to #18000. Go and find out how much this added to the country's recurrent expenditure. 2) Similar to the first point, the youth service allowance also increased to #19800. Do you know how much extra that also added to government expenditure, coupled with the growth in the number of students doing NYSC annually? The truth is, oil prices were highest in the Obasanjo era, with fewer responsibilities then, than we have now. Every single President ruined Nigeria one way or the other and that includes this current President. One way they all did this was that they failed to diversify the economy. Jonathan shouldn't take the blame alone. |

First of all, the only adjective I can use to describe the seme border is chaotic..... If you are using passport to cross for the first time, get ready to be exploited. From Port health to immigration on both sides, you are sure to spend at least #3500 The health officials were the most annoying. they would collect money without vaccinating you. Apart from that, Cotonou was fun, and am sure to visit again, as a wiser person. |
