Business › Re: Nigeria: The 6th Fastest Growing Economy In The World - Bloomberg by Ugosample(m): 1:06am On Mar 01, 2015
The Nigerian economy is growing, and that is an incontrovertible fact. but the economy is not developing , and this is so because economic growth just looks at the growth in output of a country, while economic development is mainly qualitative in Nature, as it considers standard of living improvements, among a whole lot of indicators. So while the economy is growing, the economy nor developing.
Romance › Re: 9 Reasons Most Nigerian Ladies Don't Get Married by Ugosample(m): 10:01am On Jan 27, 2015
I've read this thread from page one to the end and to be honest, I fell off my chair thrice on reading the comments here grin cheesy

Instead of grown ass men to be productive and grown ass women to be sensible, some are here typing trash.
For the guys, answer this question in all sincerity, will you be happy to watch your daughter marry a man that is not working, or broke?

Answer this question without hypocrisy.
Family › Re: Some Sweet USUALS Every Husband Is Supposed To Be Giving To His Wife by Ugosample(m): 10:50pm On Jan 26, 2015
usually I don't comment on threads like this, but the responses, especially from the guys in the house made me change my mind.

To the guys, I bet you don't know how far a woman will go for her husband and their kids when properly loved and taken care of by her husband.

To me, there is nothing wrong with the list, it's a good list and when tailor suited to the needs of the woman, it will work magic in your home. However the woman in question have to be worth it.

And as for those talking African/European hullabaloo, you guys are just talking trash. Though there are lots of hawks in woman skin across our society, my advice for guys is to find a woman who is worth it and treat her in the best way possible.
And the result would be worth it, and what money cannot buy

*drops mic and walks out quietly *

I think d DSA gives his date and we all move in at once, starting DAT day. mariere cnt b open on d 19th and fagunwa closed on d 19th. so uhmm, all dese stuffs y'all are hearing r so contradicting, even d porters rnt certain yet. d DSA decides it.

Toluway: if you are very good in computer and and online activities, start from Meritrade. If you are not, get a manual broker aroung you. They are found everywhere. I would have recommended ibtc in case you want to go manual, but their minimum is #5m. Goodluck.
Thank you. How do I open and operate meritrade?

Education › Re: Campus Prostitution: A Growing Concern In Nigeria by Ugosample(m): 1:43pm On Aug 04, 2014
Well, what can I say? Morality doesn't pay in today's Nigeria. sad. but true. Sugar daddy and sugar mummy is so prevalent on campus. As a student of Unilag, I can tell you that a lot of students, both male and female indulge in this practice, it's just that the sugar mummies are more discreet than the sugar daddies.
Nobody is contented anymore, nor want to work hard. Sad.

Chylo: Hi Ugo, first of all, I am in the UK and can only speak about the UK unfortunately.
First and foremost, the answer to your question is definitely yes, you can start a phd here with only an undergrad degree. However, you would need an exceptionally high grade, most likely a first class. Furthermore, getting funding is actually much harder than getting admitted, especially in a non-science or engineering course. And without a masters, it would be more difficult for your research ability to be judged properly for you to be given a scholarship.
Even if you were to start the phd program, you will do wat it called a 1+3, which means d first year would essentially be a masters, with the remaining 3 for your phd, making it 4 years in all. If you did a masters first, the phd can be completed in 3.
Together, these imply that doing a masters standalone first thus getting some research experience, and getting a good grade in it (68 and above) will help you stand a better chance of both getting admitted and getting funded. You will also know more about the different fields and recent research in economics to choose your specialization wisely. The time spent altogether will still be the same.
Thank you

Wow! This thread has exploded! And it's on front page? Wow! I.m grateful to all who contributed to this thread. As i said before, my intention is to settle and start a new life probably marrying a native too. I am seriously considering the Canada option too. I guess i have to develop myself to survive in these countries. Thank you all, and keep the advice coming.
Travel › Re: Is It Advisable To Settle In The United Kingdom After Studies by Ugosample(op): 1:56pm On Dec 30, 2013
Thank you very much for your responses, i guess the United Kingdom is a no go area them. I am currently shopping for schools in North America and to be sincere, settling in Nigeria is not part of my plans, what i want to achieve cannot be done here. Sad but true, that said, thank you all once again. The route to Canada is less complex as i have seen, due to the skills gap, and i will consider that option too. God bless.
Travel › Is It Advisable To Settle In The United Kingdom After Studies by Ugosample(op): 1:25am On Dec 27, 2013
Hello house, please i need your opinion on this issue, especially those settled there already. I'm an undergraduate student due to graduate SOON. ASUU strike has disorganised things but we have to keep moving... I've been shopping for schools in the UK, picked one, analysed the fees and i, with the support of my family are raising funds for a post graduate degree in finance. Things are going fine with respect to raising the funds. But to be honest, i intend settling in the Uk after my studies and starting a new life there. Please house. Is this advisable? What are the potential challenges i may face be it immigration, money or unemployment problems? Please i need your opinion. Thank you.

Romance › Re: Nigerian Men Abroad Prefer Marrying From Home? - Why? by Ugosample(m): 1:47pm On Dec 04, 2013
Permit me to say that to marry out of your tribe or race should not be seen as something of a taboo. After all Moses, David and Joseph among other bible characters married non isrealites. David's grandfather also married a moabite. i guess it all has to do with understanding and finding a woman that understands you.

Ugosample: Going by the definition of prostitute, any babe who exchanges sex for favours is a prostitute. Be it undergrad sleeping with lecturer 4 mark, sex for contract, promotion, brazillian hair, etc. They are all prostitutes. Truth hurts, but i know some of the females screaming here fall into one of the categories above. P.s. I don't do prostitutes.
since many lagos babes fall into this category, it is safe to say that most lagos babes are prostitutes.
