Anyone who believes that Lil Wayne is not intellegent doesn't know anything about Metaphors and Pun. His songs are amorous sometimes, but if you listen to some of his lyrics, deeply, you'll understand. I can't say the same for French Montana, Acehood, 2CHAINZ and the likes.

plendil: Stay away from supplements. Apart from not having any proven benefit, they are a waste of money (being qiute expensive as most would know), and can actually be harmful, especially the very high protein and/or steroid containing supplements.
Are you sure about this?
Business › Re: FG To Convert Federal Reserves To Chinese Currency by Ugosample(m): 2:39pm On Oct 21, 2013
RoyPCain: whoever is advising the nigerian treasury [foreign reserve] to convert usd to chinese rembi does not know how usa can sink china in just one huge financial operation, be it merely currency swap or trade as in projection. chinese and their currency cant be trusted. both lack proven records.

if nigeria needs currency other than usd, it should be the bps, a currency that is old enough as mother of usd and america will never go against britain, while it [bps] does hold steady not only against usd, but other currencies, including other valuables like gold, silver, etc.

maybe somebody in the financial organs of nigeria is working hard to ruin nigeria more than she is already. if we had not changed so early in the 70s from pound sterling to naira, we would have held a better financial strength throughout the 1980s. it would have been difficult for babangida to think of allowing the free fall of naira in circa 1985. there were just a few wrong moves including the looters like diko and others who passed the reserves from one account to another starting from mid 70s for the overnight interests. these and other few unregulated currency exchanges were what brought the collapse of the naira.

naira that was 1 to 2 usd in the 1970s is now 160 almost to 1 usd. each time i think about this, its difficult to imagine how it happened with all the brain power and the can do attitude that typified the nation.

somebody needs to stand up and force some of the rulers into unexpected retirement. if you are not for nigeria and her citizenry, leave and dont pretend you love both. go back to your former life. i wonder will they not consider indian rupees if chinese rembi is good enough since both are emerging economies? this is a horrible decision by those that are deciding to do it. no one wants chinese currency. no one that knows currency that is.
True talk. If the USA tags China officially as currency manipulators, their advantage is gone, and that would mean serious trouble for Chinese goods coming to the US.
Business › Re: FG To Convert Federal Reserves To Chinese Currency by Ugosample(m): 2:34pm On Oct 21, 2013
stagger: I laugh in Chinese. All central banks hold their foreign reserves in several currencies, and the CBN is no exception. The CBN probably only wants to increase the size of its RNB holdings and scale down its USD foreign reserves.

The topic of the thread is grossly misleading.
Thank you.
Business › Re: FG To Convert Federal Reserves To Chinese Currency by Ugosample(m): 2:30pm On Oct 21, 2013
Bad move! China is a known currency manipulator. Your foreign reserves will lose value. But if it's say 10% of your foreign reserves, it's okay. Afterall, the USA keeps foreign reserves of Pounds and Euros too.

anonimi: Don't you think we should stop giving ourselves REDUNDANT excuses in the face of glaring evidence to the contrary huh
China was colonised terribly by Japan, was a destination for cheap labour a few decades ago. They invested massively in FUNCTIONAL, CREATIVE education and now export jobs to other countries such as Ethiopia in Africa because the general Chinese labour is no longer cheap.
India is gradually on that track too.
These countries and other SE Asian tigers were not bombed.
Ghaddafi gave Sarkozy money for his presidential campaign. That did not stop him from leading the international alliance to help the Libyan people eject Ghaddafi from his presidential palace. Any sensible foreign partner knows it must align with the people's wish if it wants to continue engaging profitably with the country's leaders.
You don't row your boat against the tide!!!
QED.

The "global capitalists" have moved to newer places such as Bangladesh, Vietnam etc for cheap labour. It is up to their governments (i.e. their people) to decide to suffer and invest in education so that in future they will not be slaves still to the "global capitalists".
Thank you! For us to develop, we must determine in our hearts to develop, and we also have to say the requisite sacrifice (this is the aspect in which many of us fail ) If development will cause us a little discomfort, let us endure for the future of the country. A country thrives on value creation (manufacturing) and capacity utilization. Without these two, even if such country recieves 100 billioo dollars, there will still be no development. Intra regional trade is also to be encouraged, since Europe charges high duties on manufactured goods from Africa, let us produce our high quality stuff and sell among each other e.g. Ghana selling its chocolates in Nigeria, Nigeria selling home made cement to Cameroon, Cameroon selling their high quality textiles to Gambia, Gambia selling tourism to the whole me Africa, and south africa selling its home made cars to Angolans. This will boost the income in Africa because these goods are home made and sold and thus there are things to buy. But this might not happen due to the short short sightedness of many here. What a pity.

jumbotron: Sir, you do not need to say much more. You have said it all. We complement each other. I say it everyday, I bless God for the men in my family and my husband. These are men that understand the concept of each party bringing something to the table. As a man, you lose out by allowing societal pressure to make you feel as if a woman should be inferior to you. Both parties are important for the society to run efficiently. We all have our stereotypical flaws. None is more superior than the other. It is refreshing to see some men understand this. God bless you Sir.
Thank you. You've hit the nail on the head. The key words are COMPLEMENT and not RIVALS.
Romance › Re: Patriarchy - 'The Male Privilege' by Ugosample(m): 9:27am On Oct 13, 2013
Male chauvenists and Feminists are the most confused people on earth. We have to understand that we are COMPLEMENTS and not RIVALS. Illustration: No matter how fine wonderful and great a vehicle is, it cannot move an inch without fuel in it. Likewise, having tanks of fuel without a combustible engine will make the fuel useless. That's how men and women should view themselves. The fuel and the engine cannot be useful/effective on its own. That said, if you are a christian, you would agree with me that the bible shows us the best way to live (with respect to marriage, e.t.c.) e.g. Colossians 3:18-21 (Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, You husbands, keep on loving your wives and do not be bitterly angry with them, or maltreating them; and children, obey your parents in everything, and fathers, do not be irritating your children) This advice has led to peace in many homes. I wish i could go home but i'm very busy at the moment.

fsb: The simple truth is that the average nigerian is taught to cut corners and that reflects in everything we do whether it's in education, business, health care, government etc.

Aside cutting corners, we are also taught how to be selfish rather than selfless and that that is why every politician, civil servants, private employer or employee works not for the glory of the country but for the glory of his pocket alone.

I agree with the pilot, and with drbaby. Our problems as a nation stem from ideology ingrained in our minds as kids. If you raise a child with the notion that ibo people are bad or women from that tribe are prostitutes then all you you have succeeded in doing is transferring your small mindedness to your child and where 1,000,000 parents are teaching their kids such crap, what good can come from that generation?

very true. That's what i'm talking about... Mindset. Is not as if we're the poorest in Africa, the problem is that we've lost our value system. Most Businesses don't focus on value but money. That's why in my father's construction site, the Nigerians collect 2500 daily, very lazy and they don't have that finesse. But the Togolese we later hired took 1500 gave less trouble and did a great job. If you doubt me, do your research. Such mindset must be TRASHED for development to thrive.

I agree with you 150% The problem with many Nigerians is that they lack POSITIVE MINDSET. If Nigerians are moved to America in droves, America will be a sh*thole because many lack the mindset and will to sustain a developed country.
Perhaps it's an age thing. But once you have the benefit of age then you'll realize that Women are mostly the same universally.

IMHO, the assumption that a Nigerian Woman is a she devil and an American Woman is an angel can be disproven by spending just one day in any family court in the US.

“The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.” Bob Marley
Women are almost the same, i know. But is it compulsory that your wife must be from your homeland. My dad is on my neck, telling ne and my cousins that we MUST bring home an Igbo girl for marriage. That's causing problem for us. And i think some people on this forum are hypocrites; it is okay to generalise foreign women as demons but it is not okay to generalise Nigerian women as same. You people haven't seen the monsters many of them become when they cross over.

Afrobeau: You sound like a typical Id*ot, black and white women in America are the fine ones, but then our women are the Village Mgbekes? I guess you've never lived abroad because I know a lot of fellow men who married those white chicks and akatas and are regretting their actions. One even told me he made a huge mistake which he won't like me to make.
Says who? I visited my uncle in L.A. just before his marriage broke up. This woman was a pest, coming home very late, being snobbish, e.t.c. This is a woman who he picked from the village (my uncle(s) and my dad inclusive are strong advocates of marrying from your hometown) and trained in America. At least 80% Igbo residents in Carson did the same and most of them regret it. One even divorced him, took 50& of his assets including the family house and was spending the money on Toy boys. Now she's a wretched b**ch. Maybe i shouldn't have generalised(my bad) but i spoke of what i saw while with him. When i'm ready to marry, i'm gonna be open minded as my wife must not be Igbo or Nigeria. That's my advice, based on my experience.

There is no excuse for your failure. We keep talking about slave trade. How many whites owned slaves (or could afford them) Do you also know that many whites in the USA then were indentured servants (another euphemism for slavery) Those days are gone. Forge ahead. The Asians were also exploited (in some cases worse than Africa) e.g. China by Japan and Russia, India by Britain and the list continues. But they put that behind them and they are now a force to be reckoned with. We are always decieved into believing that it is our natural resources that sustain the world. That's not completely true. Take the case of oil. More than 70 percent of the world's crude oil lies in the middle east, in food production, most of the developed world have attained self sufficiency due to technology, but we who claim to be feeding the world are starving. The list is endless because if i continue, space will faik me. The solution to Africa's woes is to UNITE as one, diversify our produce to promote intra regional trade, shun tribalism (lagos comes to mind) and ethnhc chauvenism. And lastly, we should kill Corruption. With my submission, Africa will move forward.
