Uyo, is one of the youngest state capitals in Nigeria but it has recorded a lot of first in the country feats eg first E-library, first pipe jacked drainage, first Maintenance repair and overhaul(MRO) facility for aircraft, first state to complete its own state funded airport, first state to fund the construction of 4 and counting major flyovers within one administration, first state government to construct 1300 km and counting of quality roads utilizing renowned construction firms such as Julius berger within one administration and many more.

The focus today will be to showcase the holiday spirit in the state of Akwa Ibom, enjoy the lights in pictures if you couldn't make it to the state in person.

The holiday was kicked off with the internationally recognized and guiness book of record breaking 9,999 christmas carol singing event at the Uyo Sports Stadium, in attendance were Gospel Artist Israel Houghton from USA, Lionel Peterson South Africa, And a host of other artist. it was a great event.

happy new year form Akwa Ibom, a state that's setting the pace for what Nigeria could be, and making all nigerians proud.

Look at the share size of the MRO thats aero contractors boeing 737- 500 aircraft parked beside the MRO. The hanger can fit 6 of those 737-500 with the doors closed comfortably. this is really good news for nigeria as they can now boast of an MRO facility in the country.
Hopefully they get competent hands to run the facility. Kudos to Akpabio!

update on the 20th anniversary hospital. Roofing is complete it seems the 2014 deadline for the hospital completion is feasible.

The picture you took is aimed at deception because you snaped pictures of the supporters that surrounded the podium.The seats in the 16000 capacity stadium were empty. the channels tv coverage proves it and amaechis words concludes it.

I did not need to be there to know this for a fact. that what video coverage is for. Quit playing Pinocchio, Rivers people are not gullible.

We should not be having this Damage control argument, but rather APC, all their supporters and think tanks should be seriously reflecting on this issue, for its a shame that the Face of APC in Rivers state, the leader of opposition in nPDP and a seating governor of a the second Richest state with over 5million people cannot fill a 16,000 capacity stadium for a major political rally and we kid ourselves that there is an Opposition Party in Nigeria.

Goodness! and channels tv failed to cover the crowd of 50,000 that could not fill a 16,000 seater stadium? Agbaworo i didnt know you could sink this low! trying to be deceptive even in view of concrete video evidence to the contrary.

The channels video coverage is there for every one to see for themselves, and moreover amaechis opening line of the speech is all the prove anyone need for the turnout at the event.
