My elder sister is running an Msc course in the Uk. The course is with Internship placement and she is yet to get an internship and her deadline is June 10
Though she has an assessment centre by June 12 which she is positive about but want to get an offer letter before June 10 .

My questions are .

1. Can she do her internship remotely with any firm outside UK. especially an Audit firm in Nigeria pending the time she will get an offer in Uk?

2. What is the implication of not getting the internship before June 10? Will her course be changed to research placement. ?

3. Will this affect her student Visa ?i.e if it will require her going back to the uk immigration to process a new student visa having the narration of the changed course

Please help your sister.

I have booked for the practical test (manual) already sef, God help me on that day oooo cos their driving for here different from naija ooo. I bought a car in my 4th month here, so I’m using that to practice the style of driving here as well.

One Ope a yoruba woman with one carehome like that no even let me land as she hear say i am from Nigeria. Another one i called today even saw my number and i recognized her Nigerian accent and she no let me land too NO SPONSORSHIP. Our Nigerian brothers and sisters in uk una well-done oh.

After my offer, I submitted utility bill, bank statement, DV, Covid-19 card, immunization card, TB, PCC, HSC level 3 (lptc cert), First aid cert, and Neco (statement of comparability by Ecctis)

As in them won choke me but God dey. However na NHS band 3

I will advise you to calm down, with that response am 99% sure they will get back to you soonest. However don't stop applying to other jobs.

Can one apply for visa with only cos? A friend of mine that was employed was told no need for offer letter, COS was given to her, after a zoom meeting where her appointment was discussed, all effort to make them give offer letter fail as the HR insisted it's of no use, that Cos covers it. Help!!!!! � � �

Again, I had applied to Healthcare Assistant days (because of kids I hope to bring in later, otherwise nights have better pay). But in the offer, I see they added nights and I don't know if that is something to even contest, as Nigeria has conditioned our minds to assume that in healthcare, you can't avoid working nights...

Well, until I see the CoS..because there are so many connotations from the application stage through to the interview that I really cannot overthink. I wouldn't say that I'm one to shy away from questions but there's a fine line between assertiveness and outright pesky...I already felt honored to be granted the interview and so all I had in mind was to pour my lines and zap out of there..

Well, I failed my driving theory test yesterday…

I failed on the Hazard Perception test… Clicked the hazard question 5-6 times, then the screen sent me one silly message that I wouldn’t be grade for that due to clicking many times… Mehn, that really dull my moral. Was just upset throughout the remaining questions, at the end of the nonsense, I scored 43 out of 75 and the pass mark for Hazard is 44…. I just dey laugh… I’m going back on Tuesday for another test, I will keep Una updated…

We're being a bit one-sided here.

It's their country, and its up to them to decide who they want to come in, however that may seem to us. Students bring in money, are skilled (at least on paper) and are controlled with visa restrictions (NRPF and all that) and are offered a work-related path to immigration which suits the country (giving priority to people like health and care workers, lorry drivers, etc.) , however uneven the path may seem to us. Those who come through the people smugglers are actually circumventing the "first safe country" principle and if they actually were genuine refugees they would not traverse the whole of Europe at great expense to find their way to the UK (even though refugees are actually better off in countries such as Spain, Germany and France where they get the right to work and higher benefits, the UK only suffers from the perception of being way more multicultural and a better place to hustle + English), that much we all know.

Sometimes when I go to inner-city Manchester and see whole neighbourhoods that are basically part of New Delhi or Islamabad or any other Asian suburb, and you see that through an oyibo man's eyes, you can understand why the immigration thing is an emotive issue and how the uncontrolled aspect is a potential flashpoint for us all.

20. You can only use your car horn while your car is moving and you need to warn other road users of your presence. Never sound your horn aggressively.

You MUST NOT use your horn: while stationary on the road or when driving in a built-up area between the hours of 11.30 pm and 7.00 am except when another road user poses a danger.

While there may not be much prospects in those listed fields, anything can still happen.

I personally know someone who is a dependent of her husband on student visa that recently got sponsored as a Human Resources Officer, despite having few years experience no masters degree and professional certification in progress. She was able to secure the role with the company being that she was in the UK.
Apparently the company was short staffed in that department and I even tried to recommend a friend's wife to apply from Nigeria but she wasn't selected because she was not in the country (something that borders on not qualified/eligible for relocation expenses). Meanwhile someone else who just arrived on dependant visa of her husband was selected for that same role (that someone from Nigeria was denied of) and is in progress of the interviews.

All in all, prospects may be slim, hopefully the individuals can break barriers when they get selected for a role in their respective fields.

Boss I am not disputing your take like that o, just throwing a different view. I am still fasting lol.

Please people, does any UK law permit me to withhold my rent till my house agent attends to what I want her to fix? I moved into the house in December but the back was not cleared of all the rubbish swept out during renovation. Broken bottles, broken tables etc and it's a heap. I called the attention of the agent to it and she promised to send her maintenance team to clear the place but she hasn't. Sometimes, I will call her she won't pick my call, send message she won't reply. I expressed my displeasure last month and asked for the landlord's number but she said I couldn't have it but she promised to send her team but till now I haven't seen anyone. My rent is due on Monday and a friend said I shouldn't pay her. Will that be permitted under the law? If not what can I do?

Gets there and says she just can’t figure out how that was possible. Been married for some years and haven’t been anywhere, fairly certain Oga wasn’t playing away match. Requested for repeat test. Well, result from sexual health came back negative for all STis
