To avoid this you need to buy a ulez compliant vehicle or avoid driving in those zones.

Easiest way to avoid any stories is to get a Tesla, or recent hybrid/electric cars.

Please I need sound advice and the way forward.

I and my wife(student) arrived in the UK last December, stayed with a family friend for 10 days, got temporary accommodation (1 room) in a three-bedroom flat till the end of February and moved into a one-bedroom. We have already made an arrangement/commitment for a 3-bedroom which will be ready in the middle of May since we plan that the children will join us here in the UK by end of May.

The one-bedroom (fully furnished) we are staying in currently belongs to a Nigerian who stays and works in London and said that it's a council house and he pays 400pounds monthly and council tax 120pounds monthly (he didnt tell us this initially). Before we rented the place he told us verbally that it is 500pounds for the first month and subsequent months rent will be 400pounds and we agreed (we pay electricity ourselves and I have a virgin media broadband, so no bills inclusive). Since its a council house, his name is on the property and he cannot give us any tenancy agreement, moreover is just for three months, we agreed verbally.
Now fast-forward, the rent for March to April is due by 8th of March but called me on the 28th of Feb and pleaded if the rent can come early because he wants to travel back to Nigeria for a few days. I credited his account the next day with 400pounds. He called back and said the rent is supposed to be 500pounds and not 400pounds, we argued for a few days and i told him that please let's concentrate on solutions because its now my words against his. He called again that I should add 60pounds to the rent, I told him I don't have that money but I can make provision for the upgraded rent(460 pounds from April). He is insisting that I must give him 60pounds now or tell him when I can give him the 60pounds. I told him I don't have that kind of money and I don't want to owe or give empty promises.
Yesterday while I was at work he sent my wife a voice message that we should move out by the 7th of April, that he has told the council that he is moving out by that time (he will move his furniture out) and he will come with the police to make sure we move out(lol) by April 7th.

The challenge now is that the 3-bedroom we have made a commitment for won't be ready till the middle of May.
I don't have the energy of looking for short-stay accommodation now.

Please, elders and wise ones, what should I do?

He can't kick you out, if he tries to call the police for him. Don't mention that you are aware it's a council house. In the UK there is a right to a decent house ( I don't know the exact wording). Even legitimate landlords can't just kick someone out on a whim, they need a court order which might take months to years to get.

1. Tell him you aren't going anywhere.
2. Alternatively ask for a full refund and make arrangements for abnb.
3. Do you have text messages etc to show any sing of the transaction? Or key exchange??

I have had my share of Nigerian landlord never again, unless it's coming from s managing agency. Our shower didn't work for 3 months we had to take bucket baths lol.

Try to get a written agreement for any financial transactions next time, receipt invoice etc.

But I don't think you should panic. As you have more leverage than you think

Pls my people, if you get any mail from your child’s nursery that someone from his classroom contacted covid. Please withdraw your child for some time. Contrary to NHS guide that the child can still go to school if he/she is not showing any signs or symptoms. As I type this, everyone is my house (self, wife and our 2 n half year old son) has covid.

It all started 3 weekends ago when he was running temperature and we took him to the GP. The Dr examined him and said it was an infection. He then prescribe an antibiotic for 5days. After 4days of taking the antibiotics, we got a call from his nursery that he’s having some signs of reaction on his body. I took him to the pharmacy and he said it was nothing serious but we should stop the antibiotics. He also gave him an oral solution to relief the reaction. Before taking the oral solution we discovered that the reaction had disappeared, but we still gave him for 1 full day. We went back to the doctor and he said we should stop the antibiotics and call the clinic if any new development. All these while, we have been having covid test regularly just to be sure that’s not the situation. Two weeks ago we got a mail that someone from his classroom had tested positive and they attached NHS covid guidance for nursery kids. While we were still going from high temperature to normal temperature and cough, we got another mail from the school a week ago that two other people had tested positive. That was when it got done on me that covid was an option for his situation. All these while we were testing ourself and it came out negative.

To cut the long story short. Yesterday I took him to a testing center and after the test, on our way back home, I started feeling very funny. Got home took paracetamol. Woke up and was not feeling good still, so I took the covid test again early this morning and it turned out positive. My wife did same and also got a positive result. Then we became anxious to know his own test result, though he wasn’t running temperature again, but was still having this little cough and catarrh. Well, hours later after reporting our case to NHS and asking them to follow up with our sons result, we got an sms that he is positive.

To be honest we don’t know where the covid came from as 3 of my wife’s colleagues had to isolate in December and another last month. But we are suspecting the school as the school had to close the room for some time due to growing cases. My advice is not to risk it. If someone test positive in your child’s class, it’s possible to spread from the careers if not from the kids. I don’t know. But that’s our present situation and I am sharing for others to learn from it.

Interesting thing about most vendors is they give btw 12-24hrs free trial (but NOT on match days). Vendors are all over Facebook market place, eBay and even ali . Most vendors have telegram groups to communicate streaming channels, updates and to report issues. Each vendor have their own area of interest, some it’s movies, for some it’s live sports, while some do everything. My vendor does everything Infact they just added African magic Yoruba and almost all DSTV channels especially the sport ones.

Another option is the Amazon firestick, you can buy it from Argos or Amazon and watch a YouTube video to jailbreak it (very simple and straight forward) this will enable you download streaming apps on it. Then find a vendor to load channels. You might need VPN to improve streaming quality and to change location for obvious reasons

An advantage of the firestick is that u can detach from tv and take with u when u are going away from home . Otherwise the smart iptv app too is fine.

Only data oh, that was when they launched there unlimited plans. They had speed cap on the cheaper ones. They cut my neck no be small.

It all comes down to your pattern of usage though.

Basic TV is mostly freeview channels. We usually get that for just the recording purpose. We use Amazon stick for football/movies and also Netflix. It costs us next to nothing adding it to the package.
