The dependant ban will not be lifted anytime soon. More prestigious/higher ranked universities might be influential enough to lobby some type of exemption, but the average to lower ranked universities will have to find alternative ways to attract international students without their dependants, because for every pound an international student might contribute, the state has estimated that 80% of dependants do not work and are a net beneficiary of the state.

The 80% of dependant that don't work mostly can't because they are kids

My emphasis was on many Nigerians are hooked on HCA jobs. This is what most dependants do and this has been received to be "low quality" by some people in govt. However, no one talks about how difficult it is to get into the formal sectors. Someone i know who finished last year in the U.S already has a job of 200k. His mates in the U.k are counting time in one care home. Before getting that job his first job was in Amazon which he got while still in school, the same thing happeend to the sister of a friend same U.S.
My classmate attended Oxford and already had his CFA, baba stayed for a while before getting a job. May be a year or also. If it was in the U.S that would have been different. I am not saying UK shouldnt put their citizens first but making a direct comparison with the U.s is some what different. We have been told here that it is easier to get UK visa than the U.S visa but that doesn't translate to being migrant friendly. I am not saying they are hostile though.

Getting a white collar job or high paying job in UK is about demonstrable skills.

They don't value certificates/certification or bloated CVS.

People with demonstrable skills still get and change jobs every day

Will you still be thinking about stress/cost of moving out?

Anytime you send a paid email or make a phone call,it resets the 3 weeks wait again. So it's advised to call only once a month to avoid making delays.

Awaiting101:

*My aunt in UK called more than 4times and 1 escation.
*I had done paid mail 3times and done escalation twice.

*Their response was *Awaiting decision*

And yes, they sent an empty NSF like next or 2day of biometric...its draining. 😪

Dear House Bosses and Elders:

Please give me your thoughts and suggestions on this.

In Nigeria, I own an ICT company that has been in operation for 15 years.

In 2010, my company formed a partnership with a UK-based ICT firm, and we served as their Nigerian representative until early 2022, when the contract was terminated (the UK company moved into oil and gas).

We completed transactions totaling more than 600,000 GBP over the course of our 12-year partnership; all transactions, including international bank transfers, are documented.

This UK company arranged my first UK trip in 2013 for business meetings and training, and I have visited the UK more than 12 times since then for business meetings, training, and vacations.

Prior to moving to the UK with my family last year on a Tier 4 student visa, my wife the ( student), I was on my second two-year visit visa.

My company formed a new partnership with another UK-based ICT firm late last year.

Here's my question: is there any other type of visa I can or am qualified for besides the PSW (through wife Tier 4) and Tier 2 visas?

Please amiable senior nairalander, I need your input on this.

Good morning great minds

NSF mail for 2 dependants teen girls 15 and 17 years

Pls who has had similar experience. It's because of them I started this journey.
Kindly advise on what docs to provide. For the sole responsibility I submitted an affidavit endorsed again by notary public, receiptts of house rent, evidence of school fees payment over the years, house rent receipts, pics of how I have been responsible for them.

We await your urgent response . Thank you

You need to proceed carefully,

In the UK 17 and below still need parental supervision.

Option 1 get the letter from court saying that you have sold responsibility and include documents showing you have made provision for their care in UK ( who will take care of them while you work?

Hi everyone, something happened in my house recently, there was a leakage that soaked the pop, and it fell on my head, it happened on Sunday, my landlady said pay half of next rent, she'll fix it this week. Today is Wednesday nothing has been done, she is telling me that the laborer's van is in the shop which doesn't make any sense to me. My work is very tough and I come back to sleep on the couch in the common room with no privacy, wake up with body pains I think I am taken for granted. What can I do?

Stop working, stop going to uni, contact your GP, make sure your mental health is ok.

Please I have a situation... sorry this is a bit lengthy

I bought a car from a friend, he charged me the cost of the road tax included in the total cost of the car, whereas he stopped paying after I picked up the car. Recently, I decided to sell the car as cost of maintenance was getting too high, I have only driven the car for about three months, all this time I kept asking for the V5 and he kept saying he couldn't find it, like he has misplaced it.

Last month I insisted that I needed the V5 as I want to put the car out for sale, and he said he would fill a V6 form and I will get the V5 it in my post within 6 weeks.

Last week, I got back home after work and couldn't find the car so I panicked and called the police thinking it's been stolen, but I was told DVla came to clamp and impound it. I called DVLa explaining that I didn't have the Log book and that it was only recently that the registered keeper was transferred to my name, that I don't even drive the car either as I had bought another car. And the guy explained that it's my responsibility to tax the vehicle but it isn't dvla who clamped it, that it's a tax enforcement agency, so he gave me their number to call.

I called the tax enforcement agency explaining my situation, they said I have to pay £539 pounds and every day it stays with them is an extra £22, and I should also know that there are no guarantees that the car will not be scrapped by Friday this week.

I'm at a loss at what to do because honestly, there was no way I would have Taxed the car without the v5 reference number, moreso, because my friend charged me for the road tax while I was paying for it as he said he wil keep up with the payment, I didn't bother to check if he was paying or not. When I asked him why he stopped paying for the tax, he said because he transferred the registered keeper to my name, and I said it's only recently you did that, he said it didn't matter, as long as it's not Taxed and its parked on govt road as my house doesn'thave a private garage, dvla has the right to clamp it.

Please I need advise on what to do, I don't have that money to give ro those people neither do I want to loose the car.

pele

you can tax your car with VIN and reg number

Elders, I'm back again.

Please I want to ask those familiar with IT Audit and Consulting roles. I have a company willing to offer sponsorship, although I told them I can switch to part time in my school.

I have about 7 years of experience in cybersecurity and the company willing to sponsor says remuneration is within 30-40k per annum for Assistant Manager role. They asked how much I'm willing to accept that I should make research and get back.

Please for this role, what's the remuneration like? Thank you.

We are looking towards this direction but the one we have gotten required her to be on probation for some time before COS can be given and the location is not around where we live currently so it will be difficult to combine the resit with the new Job.

Another fear I have is that, if we accept the offer and relocate, and after the probation they come up with the story of limited slots etc .

Well you could always find others, Dependant can also go for it.

Good afternoon my people , Thank you for all you do in this forum.

Please I need your advice, counsel and suggestions on the current predicament of my wife in her study.

She has a Degree in Chemical engineering and came in to study analytical chemistry after looking at the course module but unfortunately what was on the course module was completely opposite of what was in the course content in reality and this posed a lot of challenges for her on the course. To cut the long story short, she has to repeat a module but the university is giving her an option to graduate with a post graduate diploma/ post graduate certificate instead of rewriting the course.

I have evaluated the whole situation and weigh the options and I think the best thing for her is to enroll for another master because the school is not ready to give her visa extension because our current visa expires January and the rewrite date for the course is also January and the results will not be ready in time for us to apply for the post graduate work Visa. This means the aim of coming in for the Msc initially is technically defeated.

My question is that will her visa be granted if she apply for another masters from inside the UK using the postgraduate certificate/diploma.

I look forward to your valuable contribution/ opinion/ suggestions on this matter.

look for a sponsored job visa, HACV are there for grabs
