It feels so good to be back here!! Missed a lot of people online LagosIsMyHome,WalePepe,Time2Win, justwise etc. Congratulations to all those that got their visa approved. To those that didn't get approval, reflect on your transcript, seek funding from your school if you don't have any and prepare well for another shot. My school is Coppin State University, MD and I wish you all the very best of luck |

Teejay13: Please do i need to have a GRE or TOEFL to be eligible to apply for TA and GA? Yes and it also depends on the school's requirements. If these 2 are optional, write them. If it stated that they don't consider the scores for funding, then that's why you don't need to submit those scores. If they are required, write them. If they are recommended, write them. Optional, not considered for funding, recommended are the words mostly used. |

stone2x: Thank you for your response. Please, is it possible to pay another visa application and get another appointment date before the year runs out. If your initial visa fee is not up to a year, I don't think you need to pay another. One visa fee payment expires after a year except this has changed. |

stone2x: Hello,
COA - $34,000 Funding - No funding
I was denied on 13th December at Abuja Embassy, see below transcript, interviewed at Windows 8 by a young white man.
VO: Good morning and pass you documents ME: Good morning, passed it VO: Where are you going? ME: I am going for masters degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rowan University, thou my I-20 reads Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Always state what you have on your i-20 to be safe. Even if that's not your main concentration.
VO: That is fine. VO: Have you travelled out before ME: Yes, I have travelled to UAE for Microsoft training. VO: How did you find out the school. ME: I did extensive search on Google.
Talk more about how you found out the school and not just using Google to search for it. What led you to the search and how did you realize it was Rowan you should apply to?
VO: Where do you work? ME: I work as System Administrator in xyz company.
Add a little information on what the company does. "I currently work as a SA in XYZ company which deals with blah blah"
VO: who is your sponsor? ME: my brother. VO: what does he do? ME: He works as a civil.engineer and has his own company in South Africa with about 40 staff.
"He's a civil engineer and the He's the CEO of XYZ company which is located at SA. The company deals with blah blah and he has over 40 staffs working for him"
VO: He types and then handed over the blue paper.
Please see my transcript and help correct me on things I did wrongly. Besides, the school resumes Jan 13, is it possible to reapply and still get a date for visa interview. You can reapply if you want to but try and contact the school if they give you funding. Whether a tuition waiver or assistantship with GA position. Going back with any funding at all from the school will make a difference. All the best |

Ihategirls: Many students on here applied for expedited appointment and got denied or got no response Yes I heard about that too but I can't say there's a reason why. Even an affected friend called after and they said there's nothing they can do so he had to go with January date which is before his resumption. |

If it's Abuja, you can request for emergency appointment on your page don't forget to attach your sevis receipt and i-20. Although it may take up to #weeks but they will still reply either accepted or rejected Best of luck Ferdinand234: My program already started online, actually doing midterm exams already. Appointment date is for Abuja in March 2021 , I was wondering if the emergency appointments are still being given,i dont mind requesting for one in Lagos or Abuja, just so I can meet the January 10 spring semester resumption. Has anyone applied for these appointments in most recent times(I saw someone post that there are no more emergency appointments, dont know how valid that is). If yes kindly share the mail to request this appointments. Thanks |

Honestly childcare is not an easy something if you are not staying where families are or at least were fellow Nigerians are especially if you are not working. Baltimore for instant is difficult to find a daycare less than $200 for an infant. The younger they are the more you pay. zeeLady: Its so hard for me honestly but I wouldnt have it any other way. I couldnt have left my baby, she was only about three months old then. Please be sure you have finances oooo even if you have full funding. If the child is above 4 years old, then you MAY get free school, but if the child is less than 4 years old, the money you will pay eh can drive someone mad (something like $220 weekly, in bigger cities it reaches and exceeds $500 weekly). If your school is in a city where you have family, then the better for you. I didnt have the advantage of family but the church i attend is predomimnatly white people and luckily for me, all of the people i have been meeting in the church are the nicest crop of people on earth. For reasons i dont know, elderly people were becoming my friends more and from that circle, i have been able to get childcare for free including weekends, when i need them. They have become family. If you ever get to come with your baby, hit me up for more info. Take care. Also bear in mind that your husband getting F2/B is not automatic ooooo. |

TBH Smartkitty was only advising. I see nothing wrong in what he said. Maybe Mama just took it the wrong way because of the personal pronoun used. It was actually a generic response. But wetin I sabi......COVID-19 will end soonest.
For those that are stranded I think you can apply for extention. I saw it on their site. Also those with F1 visa can apply for work outside school since schools are closed. I read it last 2weeks but I don’t know if work outside school is still possible since there is lockdown rule. It’s not easy out there especially those that just came to birth and have plans on returning immediately but couldn’t because of these whole thing. May God strengthen and keep you safe |

Sparks12: So i had 2 kids with my visa, reapplied last year and was refused, went ahead to contact the hospitals to refund all the outstanding discounts given. Also applied to the UK Embassy and i was declined too, someone informed me that they contacted the American Embassy to know the reason for the rejected visa and that led to the UK refusal. I have paid all outstanding discounted bill, not sure if i should go back to the American Embassy or British. I work, i honestly have no intentions of overstaying my visa or having another child. Just want to go for summer with the family Did you use the right Visa to birth your 2kids?? Did you violated your first Visa?? I think these you help you think of reasons why you were denied. I don't know how UK visa works but you might want to review that too |

Dhollargurl: Hi fam, long time no see. So, I got my visa renewed this morning and here is the transcript:
V.O: Good morning, passports pls
DH and I passed the passport and greeted her
V.O: when was the last time you went to the US and for how long?
Me: June 2019, 12 days
DH: Nov 2018, 3 weeks
V.O: Have you both travelled together before?
Both: No, this will be our first
V.O: what do you do ma’am?
Me: I’m a ****** and I work with ***** company
DH: I work for *******
V.O: your position?
D.H: ***** for Africa and middleeast
V.O: How long are you staying for?
D.H: 3-4 weeks
Me: 2 weeks
V.O: How many children do you have?
Both: one V.O: I see you had your baby in the U.S, Do you intend to use this visa for medical?
Both: No, at least not on this visit
V.O: please pay the reciprocity fee and come back for passport submission
No receipts or anything was asked. After carrying plenty past receipts, I’m grateful to God. However, I have a question, we are not yet pregnant but as it is, after having 3 miscarriages back to back, I already classify as high risk. So, in the nearest future, If we get a sticky bean, can this visa be used for childbirth? The VO already ask you this same question and you said "NO AT LEAST NOT THIS VISIT" so I guess you already have an answer to your question. He was aware of your friend baby so he asked if you had plans of getting another if issued. English language is complicated if you ask me Sha but this is just what I can say from all these oo |
