I actually like this girl, we've been together for almost 4 years now, I'm in 400 level currently, I'm from a poor family to be honest and this girl's family is far worse than mine financially. She is in this university too, since she didn't have her own place to stay, we were staying together. Our school fees here is 6 figures, since my family is not good financially, I had to do some online stuffs that bring money so that I can pay my bills and assist my family.

I was completely broke when we met she used to give me little little support financially, if she had until I had my own money. I actually didn't know she didn't have anybody to support her because she lied her uncle was the one supporting her until I found out that it was her ex boyfriend who was helping her. She confessed everything and the situation with her family when I discovered they met (that happened last year) I cancelled everything but later reconsidered after thinking it through.

The major problem is that I'm paying my own fees which is in 6 figures as well as hers ( which is also 6 figures), support my family, any money I give her she sends straight to her mother, sometimes I also have to assist her mother.
I know this is not her fault but I don't think I can move forward like this, taking full care of her, supporting my family, and having to also assist her mother. So I told her to go.
I just don't understand why everybody just has to depend on me I'm not even 25 yet.
Somehow I feel really bad because we together when things started going well small small but most of my guys have really gone far but I just keep moving up and down. It's not that I'm doing badly but I just feel there's too much weight on my head, the worst part of it is that all these people are very good people I just don't know what to do.

I know some people might think I'm one of the mugus out there who sponsor girls with the hope of marrying her or someone who tries to buy a girl but I don't give girls money, I prefer giving it to a guy because I feel guys appreciate and understand better but her case is kind of different mainly because we both somehow struggled together until things got better
I don't know if I should just let her go or accept her like that

Ok I get. I thought they had informed you about the reason behind the freeze. Go back to the bank and ask to speak with the Branch Head . Use your belle to pull emotional strings. Insist on knowing exactly the unit that did it and their address( you are entitled to have that info). They may not give you the reason the freeze was placed or who put it, but they should tell you where to go to get answers.

Hopefully it is resolved soon. Pale.

Hello mama, I understand the frustration you are experiencing now but to be honest, You can't sue the bank.

The bank, under law, has an obligation to obey any instruction as far as it is from a law enforcement agency e.g. NDLEA, EFCC, NPF, Courts etc without contacting you first. The best they can do is to inform you where the order came from and you or your lawyer have to go sort it out . Ideally, rhe freeze can only be lifted when a counter instruction is received from the agency.

Like earlier suggested, Please contact the other party who most likely initiated the complaint and try to reach some form of resolution. Your lawyer can do the negotiations. Once that is done, the agency can be contacted and they in turn will instruct the bank to lift it.

Thanks for the response ma, I've not said I wanna sue the bank, my anger with the bank is that I haven't been formally notified of the reasons for the freeze, right now we don't know how to go about it, After carrying out my underground check, First customer care, it's the issue of account update, the next said, its KYC and later said the order is from Ondo Police force, the last who helped checked said its from the Efcc, if u were in my shoes how would you have tackled the case?, that's what prompted the lawyer to write them to know reasons for the freeze but it has been left unattended to, I can't just call the guys at Ondo if we don't have the correct details on why their's a freeze placed on the account, hope you do understand me?

Why was it frozen.. it happened to me around this time last year before my wedding with Gtbank, they froze my accounts on the ground that they suspected fraud money that was transferred to me blah blah blah and refused to allow me make withdrawals likewise my husband cus he was the one who transferred such amounts from october till december and as such our both accounts were flagged plus they also claimed his bvn was not done properly since he registered outside the country and he has bin away for so many years. we were literally following due process,calling Gt connect, sorting out bvn wahala and filling forms up and down and all that till i lost my temper. i stormed the bank, created a scene, was shouting on top of my voice that my wedding was a few days away, did not even know when i started crying that they were frustrating us and boom, the manager sha contacted the person who manages the account and she in turn called her own boss, till it got to GT head office and one madam at the top asked the manager to allow us make withdrawals within the bank till she looks into it. it was never rectified tho..we were only allowed to make transfer to our various vendors. in january, we wrote to gtbank that we would no longer love to bank with them and voila, we opened a zenith account and transfered our money bits by bits till we emptied our accounts. so if you can go to the bank and insist on meeting the manager, i am sure with your pregnancy, it can be looked into plus try the online chat with gtconnect, it worked too cus i poured out my heart to the customer service agent, i was asked for verification and my voice was heard coupled with the pressure on the branch bank manager. in all, pls pray and also be very emotional..emotions move pple a lot. goodluck and sorry everyone for the long talks.

I noticed sometimes around November that I couldn't make transfer on my account, at first I thought I needed to update my mobile app which I did, but I was still getting the error notification, I then put a call through to their customer care line twice, just to be sure of the reason, the customer care rep said I needed to update my KYC details (Know your customer details) of which I made frantic efforts in getting the needed documents, prior to that the second customer care rep which I spoke to gave me the number of the head of customer care at Epe (where my account was domiciled),I spoke to the guy who assured me the issue will be rectified, only for him to call me 3 days later that the issue can't be rectified, that the order of the freeze placed on my account was from the Ondo Nigerian Police force, so I asked him what the way out was, he said I'll have to prepare to go to Ondo but since I'm heavy and expectant i might want to do all that after delivery, I explained the issue to my hubby but he insisted that I kick start the process instead of delaying till after delivery, few days later, he called me again and said I might not have to go to Ondo, that I should go to any nearest police station, when I get there I should give the phone to any police officer that he will tell them what to do, I did same and my hubby and some few friends advised that I shouldn't go alone but with the company of my lawyer and all that stuffs that Nigerian police could be funny...

Still not satisfied with the hide and seek game First bank as playing with me, I consulted a lawyer in my church who is like a mother to me, she asked me some questions relating to why she think my account my frozen, she asked about my account balance, THE balance on my account as at the time we talked was 142,726 and this proceeds came from my Npower Salary and which I didn't collect from August till November and the online training which I ran on various skills and crafts, fashion and make up etc... now which totalled my balance to 172+.

So she asked what I suspected as the result of the freeze.. I Told her that during one of my trainings, A lady and her husband called and said i was impersonating his wife by using her videos to make money online and that if I don't put a stop to it, he will ask his lawyer to sue me.... Etcetera, sincerely I was using the lady's video for my tutorial class, combined with mine and some others for the class and I bluntly told them that I didn't get the videos directly from them, someone else sold the videos to me and that people also use my materials for yheir trainings and they shouldn't disturb me about it, and looking at their location from Facebook, I noticed they live IN akure Ondo, so I suspected that the arrangement is likely from them...

After explaining all that to my lawyer, my lawyer wrote a letter to the bank asking why my bank was frozen without notifying me formally and giving me reasons for the freeze but up till now they've not responded.
So recently I asked a friend who works at the headquarter to help me check and he said The Efcc ordered it, right now I don't know what to do... DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START FROM, DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT STEP TO TAKE, ALTHOUGH I'VE SOUGHT LEGAL ADVICE FROM SOME FRIENDS, AND THEY SAID I SHOULD START BY SUEING THE BANK FOR NOT PROPERLLY INFORMING ME WHY MY ACCOUNT WAS FROZEN, PLEASE ABLE MAMAS WITH EXPERIENCE ON THIS, KINDLY BAIL ME OUT, COS THE TRUTH IS IF THIS MY MUMMY LAWYER TAKES UP THE CASE FOR ME, I WILL HAVE TO SPEND MONEY, ALL I HAVE IN MY ACCOUNT IS 172K PLUS, AND I DON'T EVEN HAVE ACCESS TO IT, SO RIGHT NOW I DON'T KNOW WHICH OTHER OPTION WILL BE BEST FOR ME...... PLEASE ADVICE.

Hello dearie, I finally got a lawyer friend who helped me write the bank 2 weeks ago inquiring why the account was frozen, but she hasn't been dignified with any response.... What else can we do, I can't have access to my salary and Im expectant, this load is becoming too much for me to bear.

Able mamas, goodevening, just coming across this thread for the first time and I'm almost 40 weeks gone, my first bank account has been frozen for two weeks now, and all efforts to get it reactivated proved abortive, I've written to the bank myself and thru a lawyer friend but there hasn't been any reply, please help this traumatized woman, what action can I take next Please don't pass this without suggesting anything

I still suggest you seek a lawyers advice. Let them find out if any of the materials you used were copyrighted.

Whatever advice you get here are only palliative measures,it can't solve the problem. A competent lawyer who is related will assist.

Copyright infringement is not a big deal. It all boils down to financial settlements.

Don't be scared, you nor kill person. Contact a lawyer.
