the man said he finished secondary school at the age of 9. How is that possible in Nigeria?

That’s his problem, if he can write common entrance in pry 3 at whatever age he should graduate after 6 years.

Again I don’t trust anything politician in Nigeria

Quite possible… I finished secondary school at the age of 16 and I have classmates that I am way older than in my class that we started together from jjs1 btw I repeated a class because of change of school so it’s quite possible.

Although I don’t trust anything Nigeria politician.

All of Una wey Dey quote me… Una go explain tire.
All I know is writing common entrance in pry3 is very realistic just as I sat for GCE when in ss2

Well.. you're entitled to your wishes
But you're barking up the wrong tree if you blame NLC for the strike

They should explore other means… strike action is not and will never be the best… not even in this economy that ppl hardly get fed on a daily.

Most if not all of the people in the category you mentioned have increased the price of their goods/services, the workers under the government are the only ones yet to get an increase in the value of their services despite the increasing cost of things. Hope you get me bah?

You talk sense but the issue is we don’t want strike action… as that will worsen the situation, many of us go out on a daily for our “2k” but when they call for strike now, how will we get fed or put food on our tables

Well you defended him. It's obvious the govt is not showing sincerity in their engagement with labor.
Why will they fix a meeting and fail to attend. So you expect labour to just take everything thrown at them? Same folks like you will still come to accuse them of being compromised

My own is, we don’t want any useless strike
However they wish to resolve it they should go about it but not with any strike actions. Anything contrary will uphold your assumption.

Tinubu that you see?
Is it not the same Tinubu that removed fuel subsidy without consulting anyone?
What has he done so far to soothe the pain of the masses other than rhetoric
Make una dey apply sense in your defence of politicians in power abeg

Note: nobody is defending anyone here, my opinion is strike won’t solve any problems rather it will add more to it. Get that right into your skull

Negotiation is the best but lack of commitment from the people on the side of government is pushing NLC to the wall.

This is what NLC is asking for

Speaking on ways by which the President can mitigate the effect of subsidy removal, the NLC official asked for “Minimum wage review of 300 per cent to all workers; granting licences to individuals for modular refineries to refine petrol locally; granting economic stimulus loan to SMEs at 15 per cent rate.’’

He added, ‘’The government should provide social benefits for aged and unemployed youths; agric loans to farmers and youths through the Agric Bank and community banks at single digit rate; provide alternative energy supply such as massive investment in solar power and Compressed Natural Gas to motorists.

“Fix the refineries; reverse the privatization of electricity back to the state due to poor performance; Execute metro rail line projects in all state capitals and reduction of school fees for students of tertiary institutions.”

And u think all these demands will be met with strike actions
Why not dialogue and come to terms.
My point is strike will solve no issue here but worsen the situation of the masses… any action should be dialogue based. Tinubu that I see is not someone that will turn deaf ears or will act like pmb by ignoring and be defiant.

You lack knowledge and information. Go and read the NLC demand. The fight is not just for the workers but the masses.
Most of their demand borders on cushioning the effect of the subsidy on the masses.

What are their plans of the cushioning?? To revert the subsidy or what? And is the proposed strike the best way to demand whatever they wants to? You need to reason with your 6th man.
Politics / Re: NLC'S Proposed Strike Would Do Nigerians More Harm Than Good by updatechange(m): 9:46am On Jul 30, 2023
Their planned strike is conspicuously Obi motivated and it will not hold.

Rubbish as if 99% of workers in Nigeria are under NLC, what happens to the artisans, the traders that depends on their daily sales, the driver and bus conductors, the djs and club owners…??
Omo, as for me o mk dem go strike for their house with their family. Rubbish. !
Where do they expect us to get the money to stock food and drugs at home??
Foolish people they just want to sabotage and create more hardship for Nigerians, God will punish all of them.

No wonder the Lagos state civil servants are swimming in abject poverty

Lagos state civil servants get the best payments and largesse among all other state.

And fyi even America is owing money and has billions of debt.
