Christianity Etc › Re: Renouncing My Christian Faith by urahara(m): 8:13pm On Jul 02, 2016 |
Millerz: Hi,
Seasons greetings to every one that reads this. This is actually the very first time I'm creating a thread
So, I want to use this medium to openly renounce my Christian faith. I've been a Christian since the day I was born. Maybe not fully devoted, but I spend quality time praying, fasting and reading the bible on my own. For the past 3yrs, i've experienced unimaginable pain, nothing has worked out for me, and my life seems to be going in circles. I've been praying to God, but havnt got results. Nothing appeals to me anymore. All I think about is suicide and I already got poison. My parents are the reason I haven't taken my life. They would be devastated cause I'm the last child. Money isn't the problem cuz I've tasted money that some working class people have never seen.
Before I joined NL, I never doubted God, but seeing all the hate and negative comments from NL atheists has made me question God. The pain in my heart is too much and I wonder why an omnipotent God would let me or anyone suffer. I dont know why God remembers everyone else but ignores me. For the past one week, I've not prayed because I figured why pray when it won't be answered. So yeah, I've officially dropped Christianity today.
Thanks for your time!! This is emotional rather than intellectual. |

lordcabasa: Seems more like we are the most brainwashed race alive, what more can I say when the Indians still practise Hinduism, Chinese practise their Confucianism, Jews stuck on their Judaism, Thailand stuck on Buddhism, Arabs stuck on Islam etc.
Where did the black man go wrong that his religion, traditions, language and even customs has become an abomination to him and the world that not even the bush men of south Afric can be proud of their history?
In all honesty, the whole of Africa can't be wrong at the same time in their faith knowing how far apart we were over the years before the coming of the "racists" yet were united in purpose, culture and tradition. I think we need to think because from where I stand there seems to be no Africans here in Africa. Oh whenever I think about this, I want to cry and curse the day the white man stepped foot in our land |

KingEbukasBlog: Hahn , is this your new account. This guy sounds like you . If God does answer your prayers , you are obviously living in sin . Some people's prayers don't get answered because they are filled with sin - it is clearly written in your bible . That's why it feels like you are talking to yourself , you are spiritually empty and indeed you are talking to yourself .

lordnicklaus: I am almost done with religion. I feel like I have been robbed or possibly duped of my freedom. My sense of reasoning is beginning to tingle, even the thought of the so-called hell fire doesn't scare me. I have considered some things that are impossible in the nature of things and which betray the thinking power of a rational mind. I have also considered the possibility that God allows sufferings just to prove Himself. Even the design of certain creatures shows that things including suffering and chaos were planned from the onset (speaking with the probability that God exists). Seriously, if you wanted a peaceful world, why would you give the scorpion a sting or give the eagle a claw? This actually proves that God knew that peace wasn't gonna last and that one day, the scorpion would need its sting to defend itself. If God exists, He should reveal Himself through easily grasped means and not revealing Himself to a set and leaving the others in doubt. I am not in the position to disprove God's existence neither am I sure of His existence. Theists would jump in now and say I do not have a relationship with the creator. A creator who plays deaf to prayers or blind to sufferings is not worth having a relationship with.

TV/Movies › Re: ARROW and THE FLASH fan page....... by urahara(m): 5:15pm On Jun 29, 2016 |
waywardpikin: How ironic is it that the season finale of Arrow is much muchhhhh better than that of The Flash?
I had so many problems with The Flash, especially with the way Flash defeated Zoom. Did he suddenly become helpless and weak when Flash was giving him a beat down? Cos I didn't see him put up much of a fight. Or was that the point where the director said 'Oya actor, this is the part where you get angry and finish the boss'? It was very haphazardly done.
Also, at the end of Season One finale of The Flash I was wondering who the villain would be only to discover that it would be another speedster. They better not try this with us again next season. No more speedster villains! The writers should try and be creative. The Flash is steadily becoming more and more formulaic. Didn't we deal extensively with Barry and how the death of his mother affected him greatly? I mean, EXTENSIVELY. So why take us back to square one? Why rehashing the same subject matter over and over again? The whole thing smacks of lazy writing to me.
Sure we don't know the implications saving his mother would have on the timeline now but frankly we are quite bored with the subject. Three seasons and we are stuck in an endless loop. Also, doesn't it stand to reason that, given the fact that he knows the consequence and potential risks involved in saving his mother, and given his personal experience with the speed force, that he wouldn't dare the attempt? If anything, doesn't it stand to reason that he would have gone back in time to rescue his FATHER instead given that the whole brouhaha with his mother is a done deal? Or was the little whiny kid scared of Zoom abi wetin? Endless loop, I tell you.
And don't bother understanding the time remnant thingy, that was simply a cop out initiated by the writers of the show. Time travel is always a tricky subject that must be handled logically and coherently. Instead the writers have taken advantage of that to feed us expired Viju milk. I dey vex.
Also I think the fact that CW requires 23 episodes for each of the two shows affects the storytelling in the sense that some plots get dragged on endlessly, and filler episodes become the order of the day. Case in point, the season finale of Arrow season 4 is easily the best episode of the whole season. And this has been a rather annoying season for viewers of Arrow but I find myself looking forward to what happens next. The same cannot be said for The Flash, a superhero of which I'm a diehard fan.
And Barry should stop kissing or getting romantically involved with Iris. Bad things happen when he does that. He must really be a virgin like someone opined.
That kiss that they shared? So lukewarm... like kissing a sibling... dead on arrival... FLAT! No biology, not to talk of chemistry. And speaking of biology, aren't they supposed to be like siblings?
Eeeeww... Eeeeww... EEEEWW!
In summary, all the DC shows seemed to really struggle this season. From Arrow to The Flash to Legends Of Tomorrow. Can't speak for Supergirl which I don't really follow. What's up with them?
Phew... long post! Bros u dey para o |

Finally the issue about animal species well funny but I hope you all know abt genetics mutation and the ability to adapt to change in other to survive. I won't emphasize much but we know that it's only Noah and his family entered the ark but today how many species (races)of man do we have today?so asking about the number of species is totally irrelevant! Just to be clear, because there is some confusion: we here at Cracked are not doctors. We know a suspicious amount of information about sex, yes, and are pithy like House, but are not technically "doctors." However, we did take fifth grade science, which probably mentioned Gregor Mendel and his famous pea study. In case you haven't taken fifth grade science, it basically something about how ... when two things ... and then ... something about traits. Like we said, we're not doctors. We do know that the baby of an African person and a Chinese person looks kind of African and kind of Chinese; from this we can infer that the baby of a giant and a woman would look kind of like a HUGE baby. This did not deter the women of the day, who may have gone along with the whole thing based on a preconception about giants and giant Instruments. We're guessing that didn't last long, as thresholds for pain eventually give way and even if they don't, vaginas do. And nine months later, surprise! You're giving birth to a veritable six-year-old! Hope you've been having so much giant-sex in the meantime that your vagina is approximately as passable as a Slip N Slide, because that's going to come in handy when Junior runs out of it, already holding a Nerf ball. To Make it Even Weirder... This happens right before God causes the famous flood that destroys everything on the earth (except for Noah and everybody on his boat). So of all the perversions mankind has ever invented, it appears the giant sex was the one thing that was just too weird for God, to the point that everyone else had to suffer for it. Nice going, guys. http://www.cracked.com/article_16546_the-6-raunchiest-most-depraved-sex-acts-from-bible_p6.html |

So you'll notice that most of these are from Genesis, the early days of the Bible when apparently mankind was first experimenting with just how creepy and weird sex could get. But probably nothing in the book tops what happens in Genesis 6:4:

The reference to women with tower-breasts has caused some confusion, though. Since we prefer a literal interpretation, we think Solomon's concubines had breasts that were three stories tall with look-out posts in the cleavage. Either way, the Bible is a bigger supporter of breasts than a push-up bra. If you don't like that, then you can be the one to explain to God why you chose to illustrate every book of the Bible except this one.
To Make it Even Weirder...
Here's a challenge: see if you can envision any possible metaphor for 5:4, "My beloved put his hand by the hole of the door, and my bowels were moved for him". |
