Is not only you and your fellow atheists who possess education and exposure. You lots keep bragging about in this age this and that can't happen. Inasmuch as i detest how religion is been practice now, its only a fool who will deny there is no supernatural being somewhere controlling the affairs of things happening down here. I dont totally believe in religion but i strongly belive God exist. When I was younger, about 12 years ago have seen a woman beaten to pulp because she touched a guy and his joystick disappeared. It happened live in Ibadan, at Ojoo Ojurin and I was on my way back from school that day. The joystick has gummed on the woman's back and everybody saw it when her cloth was torn. The poor fellow was just busy crying. The woman later returned his joystick before she was handed over to the police. Some even requested he tests his joystick before they hand over the woman to the police!

Well have you ever thought about how bizarre the crucifixion story is?
Imagine the all-powerful, all- knowing creator of the universe sitting on his magnificent throne in heaven. He looks down onto earth and says to himself: Those evil humans down on earth. I hate what they are doing. All this sin... Since I am all-knowing I know exactly what the humans are doing and I understand exactly why they commit each sin. Since I created the humans in my own image and personally programmed human nature into their brains, I am the direct author of all of this sin. The instant I created them I knew exactly what would happen with every single human being right down to the nanosecond level for all eternity. If I didn't like how it was going to turn out, I could have simply changed them when I created them. And since I am perfect, I know exactly what I am doing. But ignore all that. I hate all these people doing exactly what I perfectly designed them to do and knew they would do from the moment I created them.
I HATE IT! I tried killing all the humans and animals once in the flood. That certainly did not fix the problem. So here's what I am going to do. I will artificially inseminate a virgin. She will give birth to an incarnated version of me. The humans will eventually crucify and kill the incarnated me. That, finally, will make me happy.
Yes, sending myself down and having the humans crucify me -- that will satisfy me. I feel much better now.
It makes no sense, does it? Why would an all- knowing being need to have humans kill himself (Jesus is God, after all) to make himself happy?
Especially since it is a perfect God who set the whole thing in motion exactly the way he wanted it?
The whole story of the crucifixion is absurd from top to bottom if you actually stop to think about it. Jesus clearly knew that he is God. In John 14:8.. Philip said to him, "Lord, show us the Father, and we shall be satisfied." Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father.
" So it makes you wonder about Jesus' famous lamenation in
Matthew 27:46: About the ninth hour Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani?"—which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Since Jesus is God, what he really must have meant is: "Myself, myself, why have I forsaken me?"

Pastor Adeboye's recent fatwa on "whoever introduces tribalism to RCCG", which is confusing because their list of leaders shows that tribalism has already been introduced to the church, reminded me of my concerns about the morality of the Ananias and Sapphira tale.

According to Acts 4:32 - Acts 5:11, "there were no needy persons among [the Christians]. For from time to time those who owned land or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales and put it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to anyone who had need." This was obviously not a sustainable way to do things because eventually, all the rich people in the church would have been reduced to poverty.

Anyway, "a man named Ananias, with the consent of his wife Sapphira, sold a piece of property; with his wife’s knowledge, he kept back some of the proceeds, and brought only a part and laid it at the apostles’ feet" Now there's a lot to like about this couple. First, that they were willing to lose their property to help the needy in the church. Secondly, that they consulted with each other at every step of the way, and acted as one.

But this couple retained a sense of financial responsibility, so they decided to be keep some of the proceeds of the sale for themselves, to take care of their kids *, etc. However, God (or someone who knew what happened), told Peter what they had done, and Peter shamed them before the church by revealing their secret. So they cried, repented, were forgiven, and brought the rest of the money to the apostles that evening.

Haha. Just kidding. Peter, the guy who denied Jesus three times and was forgiven, had them killed by the power of the Holy Spirit of God, who is love. First he killed Ananias, and somehow nobody told his wife about his death. Then he killed Sapphira for backing up her husband.

Imagine the sorrow of the parents who brought up Ananias and Sapphira and instilled in them the values that made them successful enough to own property and pious enough to embrace Christianity. Imagine the inconsolable wailing of their kids * who would now have to rely on the charity of the same church that killed both of their parents, in order to survive. Consider the eternal burning in hell that awaited the couple.

How can anyone read this story and not be horrified by it? How can you open your mouth and say "God is love" after reading this chilling tale?

* It's reasonable to assume that they had kids unless they were just married or infertile, since there were no contraceptives in those days.

How could i have ever thought that annanias and saphiras were evil .

Between though i hold a view that a man probably named Jesus existed within that timeline, possibly a revolutionalist who was insubordinate to the jewish priestly class and roman colonial authority and for that was possibly crucified by the Romans, the one on whose all these legends were heaped on, by his followers.

This doesn't mean i believe of such a figure being a deity or son of a god, that is the obvious myth in the fable.

He's not the first man to be deified by the enthusiastic followers, in fact being born of a god was the highest conferment of honour on an individual.

There have been several hundreds of men in history deified and said to be born of a union between a god parent and a human parent.

That's totally rampant during those days.

I love the idea of a Creator nad the level of rationalization behind it. The existence of a Super being is real but a question was left unanswered.

God created the Universe. Accepted.

But how did this supreme intelligent designer that you and I have never seen came into existence independent of time and space?

If you have no answer to that, then it is of absolute possibility that man also exist independent of any Creator. We shouldn't trust ancient writers with all integrity. What if they came up with the theory by overestimating the complexity of life and the universe due to there abject ignorance?
I know the power behind fiction and how natural events can be simulated in manuscript and other printable materials.
The most exciting thing about it is that the universe have a way to emulate everyone's belief system into a typical order of reality that we please him/her. The theory behind that is based on the 'flunctuation of nature' .
Religion do have her own positive side effect by the way.

I love the idea though just that the basis for this eccentric belief is questionable.
