favour32:The issue here is that English is a language that is derived from many other European languages including French, Latin and Greek. In colonial times, The British that came to Nigeria used to teach Latin in Missionary schools. You understand Latin, you under English better and you have no problems like this. But with time, Nigerians have dissociated themselves from European culture and just isolated English alone. And hence everybody is now confused. You took language and discarded its roots. Hence all the headaches and disbeliefs. |
KingLennon:The course can still be useless. At the end of the day, the only reason you are going to university is because there is legal requirement from employers to hire graduates with NYSC certificate. You can't get the NYSC certificate if you do not go to UNI or Poly. Nigerians just waste their time in University score whatever result, get degree then NYSC certificate then beg for any job that doesn't concern their degree course. - But their overseas counterparts, go STRAIGHT to job and work as intern, part time staff or labour. From the job, they then decide whether to study a course that has anything to do with THAT particular job. Any time you discuss with your agemate, they already have 10 years work experience. |
ufotunang:Internet has spoilt things. It is a 2 edged sword. 1 side gives information. The other side gives moral destruction. When I was in Uni, we had to buy books and handouts to read. Then Internet came, and I learnt about PDF. Can you imagine that till today, the 1000 pages textbook I downloaded, I've still not read it? Free download O! But zero concentration to read it. Instead it is the physical paper books that I was able to read and pass my exams. Who has power to read 1000 pages PDF? Online, when Facebook etc is on the same computer you are using? |
3kay945:Exactly same thing I said. The world has changed. Children have to be seriously protected from corrupting influences all around. |
Olam09:The world. When I was a student, there was hardly any cable TV. No DSTV in Nigeria. Just our 5 local stations on TV. TV started at 5pm and closed by 12 midnight. I only watched voltron or whatever from 5pm to 6pm, that's if there was light. We didn't have generator. Non of my friends had gen. Only kerosene lamp. Then go out and play, then 7:30pm to 8:00pm one comedy. And that was it. No Internet, no tablet. Nothing. Just carry books and read and study. Today, kids are carrying DEATH in their hands, mobile phones. And it is giving them mental anxiety, depression, anxiety disorders and other mental health issues. Why won't they fail exams? Their heads are filled up with shit disturbing their concentration and progress.

DJInfluence:They should have learnt work from age 10 and take care of her. |
Buy made in Nigeria by force. |
Engineers in the house. Project: Construct MRI machine.
|
Laurene:With that visa money abi? Wahala be like bicycle. |
Luxurydriverng:They need you to try again. They are ready for your next money. - I won't put mouth sha. Just read instructions clearly and be honest in your motives when filling out their form. If you really don't have anything to do in US, better don't go. |
IPhone on Display. They have tracking and disabling features in them. He just wasted his time. |
Racoon:What's there to think? What has Education ever done for Nigerian government? It just yields graduates that will challenge and scrutinise the government. Or get frustrated and japa from the country. The real people running politics and economy are the uneducated ones. Hence the backwardness and high corruption. |
Seunpapa65:He can study how to answer the questions. |
shortgun:Jonathan's luck is that the president died and he then assumed office. Had there been elections, Jonathan would never have won with this kind enemies in Nigeria. He was good yet pushed out of office and since he left, only worse people have taken over. |
Kingdavid579:You dated but you didn't marry. They were desperate to born child. Marry older lady first. Let her give birth. The lady will tell you kneel down and hands up, when you misbehave. |
djoe21:You can just say, "Cmon shutup there small girl"... You see. You can't do that if it is your mate na! ![]() |
spencekat:I think you can just place the phone to your ear normally and the voice note will sound there. |
favour32:Just use it to separate your friends from your enemies. Block them without remorse. Your friend will know what you like and message you the way you like. |
panpan:I don't get the point of kitchen Island. Does the family want to eat in the Kitchen? If so, then the palour should not have a dining section either. From this picture, the house seems finished. Hence they probably have dining table in the parlour area. And now, just wasted space in the kitchen. |
Dundalk:Well, here is a Youtube channel dedicated to small houses. https://www.youtube.com/@nevertoosmall |
Beuberry:I am a man. And I approve. Go for older guys please. The fact that you went to school and same class with a guy does not mean he is ready or prepared to marry you. Your partner is 5, 10 or 20 years much older than you and will support you better in this Nigeria. We that are your age mate, will reverse back and choose a younger girl that will not argue or challenge us in the house. |
TheWinterBird:Well that is true. Unfortunately, the commonality also extends into the trousers. The woman will start wearing the same trouser with you. And many men do not like that kind of competition. So most times, men go for younger women whom they have very few things in common with initially, THEN build up the things in common as the relationship progresses. |
Justiceleague1:yes and if you know me well on this forum, you would've seen how I used to call out the mods at times over such garbage..i have been banned one or two times for that but who cares Mr Justice League, am I to pay homage to you before using this website? Why am I supposed to know you well? This is a site built on anonymity. - You implied that you don't live in this particular country, Nigeria cos you guys in that country. I really wonder, how our internal affairs is your business then? You're trying to imply that somehow you are better than us Nigerians but unfortunately, you don't seem happy or satisfied with your life wherever you are, hence the constant need to come to this lowly 3rd world website and look for which person to oppress (Bullying yet again!!!). Why is it that people outside of Nigerian cannot STAY outside of Nigeria? You went to USA there. FACE THERE use THEIR FORUMS. Integrate with the foreign people and leave us alone. You burn all your energy disabling the ability for anybody to reply your comments on this Website. Because you're too chicken to face your own words. What is the point of commenting then? What is your point? We didn't know your name before and we certainly don't want to know anything about you and your journeys now. Go away. |

Sirchiboy:Seek counseling to resolve whatever negative effects it may still have on you. You deserve better. |
Nigeria is a country full of bullying. The British that colonised us, bullied us into a nation. Then the police and army they created, continued to bully us after independence And we continue to bully each other everywhere, Agberos bullying people on the roads, Boss bullying workers, Parents bullying kids, then kids bullying other kids And everybody bullying each other on the internet, twitter, NL... We are only seeing a reflection of all our actions. |
Konquest:What has her British Birth got to do with her intelligence? Are British people smarter than Nigerians? Is it not British people that used to fall for Romance scams and |
Chukwuka319:You just stated everything that you are. rabid dog escaping barking, Anti rabies vaccination officers to muzzle you and lock you up in the pound for mad dogs. Why is my comment getting to your skin? Are you MAD? Unfortunately, my simple comment got under your skin and you collapsed into fully blown insults. Yet, you are the one that is cursing Nigeria police officers. In fact you just cursing everybody. Both the police and the citizens! |
Chukwuka319:You that are good, join the police and change things around. |
Justiceleague1:There is nothing different. Bullying is bullying. Stop making excuses. This IS EXACTLY what bullies do. During my my time, they bullied me. So I must bully you as well. That was the most ASSHOLE excuse I was given by a senior back when I was a kid in school. And that is the same thing Agberos do on the road. The more you allow, it the more it propagates. Agberos started as Begging. Today it has turned to full road assault and robbery. Right here on this Nairaland website, someone will make his comment or opinion and people will insult him and tell him to shutup, insult his village, insult his family. And we're all here saying, "Eh That's how Nairaland is Na. Collect your Insult and go". So tey, thiw website was shutdown earlier this year to rectify one of such cases. |
