They all could Write down their languages with their own letters.

They all had horses for mechanised labour and carrying their soldiers to the battlefield. Steam Engine trains, Bicycles, ... machines.
All three languages you mentioned had Empires and fought bloody wars, using all these technologies, to Force their languages on others.
Without local homegrown technology, you are not a nation in anyway.
They collected almost all of Africa and pushed us aside.
