iberrylee: That's not the issue, the thing is those houses are for low income earners and its easy to build..why not ask yourself why someone will build a house with wood and allow it to collapse on your head because tornado will make concrete house bring about earth quake.
Hypocritical of those white people who complained of trees been cut down but they ended up building with wood, ain't that double standard Hahaha! Bros, you funny Ooo. I love the way you reason shaaa. But that was what I was told during my geography class in those days. And again, cutting trees is not the issues here because what is preached is avoiding unnecessary cutting down of trees. Where trees are specifically grown for economic purpose, cutting of those trees is not bad. I was made to understand that those earthquake prone areas have volcanoes on the ground always ready to erupt when prompted. When those heavy buildings pressurize the ground and the volcanic eruption takes place, we say earth quake has occurred. |

Moneyboyz: Too many wooden houses, a concrete house with solid foundation would have withstand such disaster. Using concretes and blocks would add pressure to the ground which could result in another natural disaster like earthquake. In those earth quake prone areas, houses are built with light materials so as not to add weight to the ground and result into earthbquaje. |

Magicians: How many bad people are governing the rotten n condemned shithole state of Abia Abaribe came from that he can't fight them but would rather fight for tribes in Nigeria his own tribe love to hate ?! Many of you Igbos speak out of plain foolishness n gross stupidity thinking that your foolishness bigotry n stupid is not noticeable. Most times I don't even like commenting on this faceless forum because the majority of Nigerians think they are wise and know it all while they are not. The hate is just much for one another here but while hating can not put money on my table, I would never hate. Hence, you are right in your own opinion. In my own opinion, I'm not talking about tribe or language. I'm talking about how difficult it is to correct wrongs by to many people. Whether Abaribe is Hausa or Yoruba or igbo, it does not affect my thumbs up for him for not shutting his mouth like every other senator there. He seems to be the only one not afraid of opposing the FG for all these money issues. By the time tax is increased to 10 percent or more, you will understand that this is not about tribe or party. But having known that the majority of Nigerians prefer hard life, I would prepare my mind for it so when it eventually comes, I won't be surprised. Thank you for quoting and insulting, it won't stop me from getting my daily bread. |

Astark: I've been on quora for some years now and git curious and asked why some African countries don't like Nigeria.
Just go and search it, these people know who igbos are because of their greed and obsession for money they even in drugs. South Africa , Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana and many more African countries don't want Nigerians in their country just because of the igbos , they have killed our reputation.
The north own is the worst with child marriage, herdsmen, religion extremism, boko Haram, poverty and much more.
Imagine a Nigeria without these two regions? We'll be more respected and our problems will be solved.
Ironically these are the two regions that has the lowest resources that they contribute If those two regions are the problems of Nigeria, why not pull out? The east wanted to pull out but you guys refused. Why now blame them? You should blame yourselves for not allowing them have their own country. Your own mu mu no be here at all. |

You don't need Yoruba people to free you from anything, you are free to fight your own battle with the North.
Yoruba people are not going to do your anti North bidding because of Amotekun. Lol! It's just understanding. You won't understand it now until then. You will begin to regret as usual. |
Politics › Re: Prominent Columnist Samuel Ajayi Calls Out The Hypocrisy Of Yorubas On Amotekun by valenu(m): 11:26am On Jan 19, 2020 |
NGpatriot: It's very laughable and naive to think or believe that ibo people all of a sudden or overnight love Yoruba people or gives a damn about Amotekun, the fact is, they don't. They care less about Amotekun or any Yoruba related issues.
As usual and per their trait and general behavior, it's the same enemy of my enemy is my friend scenario, they'd love to see a confrontation between the North and the SW, this is also the reason why they've been shouting and lamenting for Tinubu to openly say something about Amotekun, but the SW is too smart to fall for such ill-mannered and nonstrategic confrontation.
Amotekun is here to stay and going by the overwhelming support in the SW across the board, the SW can handle their own business and fight their own battle so of what relevance is other people's fake and disingenuous support?
If they want to fight the North, let them going and fight the North, the SW is not their proxy.
After Amotekin, they'll gladly go back to their hateful and antagonistic ways. I have told you and still telling you, drop every hate and understand your problem. Understanding your problem would help you fight it. Yoruba alone can't fight the Hausa Fulani. Igbos alone can't fight Hausa Fulani. The south should unite and fight them after which Yoruba and igbo would go their separate ways. Friendship is not by force. You may be thinking Igbos are begging you for unity but they are not. They are only trying to free themselves from the handiwork of Lord Lugard who had to join their southern protectorate and northern protectorate of Nigeria and called it Nigeria. And he did this because of the massive wealth in the southern protectorate in which it's people seemed more stubborn than their northern indigents. The white did this for their own selfish reasons which you should try to know. |
Politics › Re: Prominent Columnist Samuel Ajayi Calls Out The Hypocrisy Of Yorubas On Amotekun by valenu(m): 12:45am On Jan 19, 2020 |
It is so painful seeing Yoruba and igbo as enemies whereas their common enemy is the Hausa Fulani. Our forefathers may have made mistakes but we the current generation shouldn't follow their footsteps. The south should be united. Igbo is not better than Yoruba, Yoruba is not better than igbo. In life, everyone has one shortcoming or the other. Understanding this should help us tolerate one another.
While we are clamouring to unite and fight our common enemy, we also stand to suffer from them if we don't sit up now. The best time is now before it is too late and we will start regretting just as some have been regretting voting Buhari.
i am igbo and very proud of my tribe because I can't reject myself even if others reject me. Rejecting myself means commiting suicide and I can never do that. Better to die trying to save myself than killing myself because others hate me
Igbos and Yorubas, we are the strength of the Southern Nigeria. Either of the two can't win the battle except we come together. |

Nigeria is too complex. It should be divided into its regions. That way, the regions can partner and be friends. Each region will have one voice to tackle it's problem and have the regions going. Oyibo people do not want this because of what they are benefiting from one Nigeria. |

Politics › Re: Border Closure or Divide and Rule? by valenu(m): 12:12pm On Nov 25, 2019 |
HardexyAA: It is amazing that many people fall flat to the deception of the current administration in the country. We seem to accept every policy of the federal government without questioning or any argument. One of such policies made by the federal government in the recent time was the decision to close all the borders in the country against importation of foreign rice. Almost immediately, many had started praising the federal government for the initiative, saying the move would ensure food sufficiency and create job opportunities for the teaming population of youths in the country, failing to see the timeliness and appropriateness of the policy. Reasonably, before a country should decide to shut its borders to foreclose the incursion of foreign goods or commodities, one would expect it to have put in place sufficient mechanisms to ensure that the commodities to bar have been produced in quantities that are enough to cater for domestic needs, demands or consumption. It is beyond just waking up from a confusing slumber and introducing one anti-social policy.
More amazing is the fact that nobody is talking about the closure of some borders while others are not closed. There are emerging facts that borders in the north are not closed while only those in the southwest and southeast are closed! For those who care to know, why on earth would the federal government be operating different polities or issuing different orders to people in the same country? Investigations reveal that the so-called foreign rice banned from entering the country through the borders in the southwest and southeast are in abundance in the north and are sold at far cheaper price for that matter! However, the federal government has put in place laws and mechanisms to prevent such rice from reaching the south, including inspecting vehicles at checkpoints to make sure southerners do not have access to foreign rice while they are forced to purchase local rice produced mainly by northerners! What a strategy!
When one looks at the way the current leadership administers the country, one would be forced to ask if it is government of some people. From lopsided appointments to decisions that favour particular groups of people and affect other groups negatively, one would want to know if we are actually still one Nigeria. Look at the proscription of different agitating groups as terrorist groups by the federal government while the rampaging and deadly Fulani herdsmen are continuously defended and planned for. Look at the cases of using the security apparatus to favour the party of the government in power in such an arrogant and obvious manners. Look at the hopelessness and helplessness of the court. Look at the current trend in the house of assembly, using the leadership of the senate to rubber-stamp the plans and policies of the federal government not minding whether they are people-friendly or not.
The most ultimate question is: where are we heading as a nation? Don't bring in southeast here please. I don't know you guys always dragging the south east into nigeira's problems. Do you even know the Nigerian map to say south west and south east borders were closed? Let the south east have their peace since they cannot have their own country. |
