At death the spirit goes back to God who gave it  while the  body turns back to dust.

All through the Bible no where is the Soul or Spirit  described as an independent element that can exist on it's own without the body and neither does the Soul or Spirit has Immortality.

Man is nothing more but clay or dust powered by the spirit of God. Life is what makes us a Soul.

Now we have understood what a spirit or soul is we will now look at what the Bible says is rewarded at death.

Evidence of what goes to Heaven or Hell.

*Ressurection:Paul taught the early Christains that the only hope of reward for those who died in Christ is the ressurection.
This raises a valid argument if the  just can only rewarded by their ressurection from the Dead which means neither their spirit or soul is rewarded at death as wrongly taught.Paul also gave more insight on this issue by explaining that when Christ will come the Dead in Christ will be raised with their corruptible  mortal bodies transformed  to immortal  bodies and  then they will be taken to Heaven. Job 14:12-15
1Cor15:51-53, 1thess4:15-end.
2 Timothy 4:1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;

The unjust will also be ressurected  but will not experience any changes in their body or nature they will still be raised with the corruptible body which they had before they died they will be judged and cast into the lake of fire which the Bible calls the second death.
Revelation  2:11  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.   Revelation  20:6  Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

*Lazarus and his ressurection: when Jesus arrived at the house of his dead friend Lazarus we are told that a conversation ensued between Jesus and Mary who acknowledged that her brother was going to be ressurected on the last day. this implies that Mary understood that it was her brother's ressurected body that will  be rewarded by God and not his soul or spirit.
John  11:23 Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.  11:24 Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.  11:25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

* Torment in Hell: Jesus taught  the people that in Hell their will be great torment pain and gnashing  of teeth this implies that the unjust body is what goes to Hell as Jesus also informed us that  spirits don't have flesh and bones or teeth. Matthew 25:30, Luke 24:39.

*Death and ressurection of Jesus:
It was Jesus's transformed body that ascended to Heaven and not his spirit or soul. Acts 1:9-11.
Note also that  Jesus told Mary not to touch him for he had not ascended to Heaven. (he did not go to Heaven until 40days after his ressurection)this implies that Jesus soul or spirit did not go to Heaven or Hell as wrongly taught in Churches but  he was at rest in the grave as all the Dead are till the end of the 3 days. John20:17,Luke 19:9.

*Body(Eyes and hands)in Hell:
Jesus taught the people that it was better for one to go to Heaven without hands or eyes than to be cast to Hell with both hands or eyes, this gives evidence to the fact that the body is what is punished in Hell and not the Spirit or soul, Matthew 18:19

*Transfiguration:The transfiguration  of Jesus on Mount  Olives  is given to us as an example of how the mortal bodies of those who are in Christ will be transformed before they are taken to Heaven.
Matthew 17:2, Mark 16:9

* Soul and body in Hell.
Jesus taught his disciples and the people that  God will punish/destory the body and soul (life/breathe) of the wicked in Hell.
Matthew 17:2, Mark9.

*The words of David, Isaiah, Daniel and Job:
There is no doubt that this great men where inspired by God to write that the body of the just and unjust is what is rewarded after judgement. Job14:14,Daniel 12:12, Isaiah 26:19,John 11:11,Plasms 17:15 and plasms112:10
Job  21:30 That the wicked is reserved to the day of destruction? they shall be brought forth(from the grave)to the day of wrath.

*Parables of tares and Wheat:
The parable of tares and Wheat  teaches us that the body of the unjust(tares) would be cast into fire.
Matthew  13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.  13:41 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity;

*Body of Moses.
When Moses died the Bible tells us that Satan came to claim the body of Moses but he was resisted by an Angel of God.
Jude 1:9
Secondly it was not the Spirit of Moses and Elijah that appeared before Jesus, but it was  the ressurected body of Moses, and Elijah who did not experience death that appeared to Jesus. Luke 20:37,Matthew 17:2.

*Paul's words and teachings.

1 Corinthians 15:16 For if the dead rise not, then is not Christ raised: 15:17 And if Christ be not raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins. 15:18 Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ are perished. 15:19 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable. 15:21 For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead.
Matthew 27:52 And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose,


1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. 15:54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.

1 Corinthians 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption: 15:43 It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: 15:44 It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.


In Conclusion.
The word of God is clear on this subject, it is the physical body of people, changed for the just and unchanged for the unjust  that is rewarded after judgement and not some imaginery spirit or soul.

Guy don't get confused...the concept of heaven and hell came totally from the Abrahamic religion to keep people like you in check 24/7 so you don't misbehave and question what they are teaching you....

From the African perspective and religion, what we have is the ancestral planes and got nothing to do with burning anybody inside fire because they don't believe in one European character is their Lord and saviour..
