Perfect!

That is the problem with we Nigerians, is it the president alone we elected huh

- What of our state governors

- Our State House of Assembly men & women

- Our Federal Legislooters.

- Our Local Government chairmen, the closest to the people.

When shall we demand accountability from our state government on how they spend SECURITY VOTES and demand transparency huh

When shall we ask our representatives how they go about the constituency allowance running into millions? ??

When shall we ask our LGA Administrators how the Federal Allocation is been utilise huh

We all focus on the Presidency. Why huh

Nigerians, this is time to think right. The President is not our problem but our wicked and selfish politicians.

Nigeria political landscape is infested with gentle and mean pen robbers.
They are not gentlemen at all ohhhh! They are areas boys and thugs dressed up in armani suits, thats why we witness shameless displays at their meetings everyday. Further more gentlemen are men of character not the greedy and heartless robbers you have looting the masses.

RomanceRe: On Nigerian Women And (lack Of) Future Ambition by VANENON(f):
Mondisweets: In as much as i would want to pursue my career and have my own things, but i still respect women who decide to stay at home and take care of their families. Most of them get to do what most career driven women cannot do,
-go for their kid's sports games regularly to support
-have enough time to make meals for her family herself
-teaching her own children how to do their house chores
-help her kids with their homework, assignments and projects frequently
The little (or rather insignificant as other people would put it) they do might not mean a lot to other people but they play a major role in upbringing of their children.

I was raised by a woman who worked a 40hr week but sometimes she had to put in a little more effort to get promoted. She never came to any of my school events i participated in and i wont lie a part of me felt neglected when i saw other "housewives" cheering and supporting their kids. One time she drove me to school late and i was disqualified in javelin. This is one thing i was really good at (in athletics) and for weeks i hated her because i felt she had sabotaged me simply because she couldn't put her work down and drive me to school on time. Sometimes i would stay up until 11pm (i was still in primary school then) helping my mum "sort out her work" sometimes that would be the only mum-and-daughter time we spent for weeks.

Its sad most people now think that it all has to be about making money and splitting bills. No one ever thinks of the impact on the kids, so long he/she goes to school on a full stomach then he/she is good to go. People now have their heads wrapped "a woman has to fit her financial responsibilities too otherwise she is not human" and the needs of those little people (the children)who make up part if the family are completely forgotten. Yes u can have a maid, nanny and a cook to handled the kitchen and the kids, but their upbringing will never be the same as that of a child bought up and taught almost everything by her own mother.

These days you find out that female children would rather confide in the maid or the cook than her own mother when it comes to personal issues, because thats whom she grew up seeing most of the time. She is the one who taught them how to wash their socks properly, she is the one who taught them how to cook and she is the one who made sure she always had clean ironed clothes.

Its very foolish to think that these women who decide to put their 20yrs of school aside and take care of their houses and their little boutiques are less significant. After all who will help these children with their school work, if she is not educated herselfhuh People need to learn to respect these women's choices as much as they want their own to be respected.
A very intelligent and insightful post.

For the men and ladies out there saying that Nigerian women lack future ambition, over 70% of families in Nigeria have women as the breadwinner so wanting to get married does not necessarily mean you lack ambition its simply what you have placed as priority. My big jeep, snazzy official fucntions and big houses do not give me the joy i derive from spending time with my family. What is the relevance if after everything your acquire/achieve you cannot derive true joy from them. Same as "what would it profit a man if he gains the whole world and looses his soul"

HealthRe: Simple Way To Know If You Have Bad Breath by VANENON(f): 4:25pm On Nov 12, 2013
If you havent eaten and havent spoken for hours your breath will smell funny.
Also if you have just eaten something with garlic or onions your breath will also smell bad but that does not mean you have mouth odour.
Simple use of mouth wash or breath mint will clear temporary bad breath like these i just stated.
For permanent mouth odour one will need medical check up and advise.

dverykaka: my story hmmmmm dont like talking about it but i will

he was just a friend, we finished from the same uni and the same course but he was ahead of me in class. We attended the same campus fellowship . didnt really feel anything for him at that time. As far as i was concerned he was just a friend and a "churcheous" one at that, not my type. After our first degree we became close . to cut the whole story short, he fell in love with me, i wasnt really interested as i didnt believe in love but his actions and attitude swept me off my feet.

we agreed to get married. since we almost have the same circle of friends everybody was happy for us. i went to meet his people he came to see mine. he was my world, he was perfect in all he did, i loved and respected him like i have never done with any of my ex boyfriends. i was his first and it was so perfect. he works with civil service i worked in a finacial instution but i believed in his future . he was the answer to my prayer. he calls me all the time. most times i even sleep off on him during calls. he comes up with excuses for my faults. he was so in love with me that even a blind man man can see it.

untill that faithful night he called me at night i sensed he was crying i asked him but he wouldnt tell me instead he asked me what will i do if he commits sucide. i was like want will happen to me if you do that he said i shouldnt worry. (am trying so hard to cut this story short] the next day he told me that his people said he cant marry me because of a communal clash dat happened years ago, i thought it was a joke untill i saw his lips shaking and tears coming down his eyes like rain i was to shocked to say a thing. i said this must be a joke. i didnt cause the clash my dad didnt, none of my uncles did. why would somebody do this to me because of something i dont know about.

At first we thought of runing away together ( where can we run to without fund) after much talk and nufin was much coming forth we stopped talking and stopped chatting. i still feel like he disappointed me, he would ve stood up to his parents and his people. this is 6months and i have not gotten over him. everytin reminds me of him. i cant stop comparing any guy that talks to me with him. he has been trying to call( dont tell me he is calling to tell me the issue has been resolved bcoz he has so many ways of telling me if it it has been) but i blacklisted his nos and deleted him from my social media i think he shuld go and sort it out wif his family. poo happen... wish i can say am ova him
TRUELY FEEL SAD FOR YOU.
I hope things work out and you get back togather again.
Christianity EtcRe: How My Friend Was Brutalised By Winners Chapel Officials In Abuja by VANENON(f):
Next IG: @Op, I am not going to exonorate the church from some unwanted happenings within her, but this your story lacks substance. Why did I said so?
(1) Every Winners Chapel has a designated parking lot either within the Church premises or outside the gate but, it is either fenced or well protected.
(2) Your friend made the mistake of parking near the church (outside) when he has been severally warned not to. That shows a sign of disobedience to the church leadership.
(3) Your friend lied by saying that the traffic officials will asked him not park at a particular point without showing him where to park.
(4) If your friend had been a true member of the Winners Chapel for Five years, he should by now knows where Church members, Church officials and Pastors do park their vehicles. Because each have their parking lot. Even the for the Church members, where the first service attendees will park is different from the second service.
(5) With the security situation everywhere, why must you park your car anyhow or somewhere near the church without letting the officials?
(6) If truly he has been a true member, he should know that even if the head of the unit is against him, he should have gone into the church and report him to any other Unit Head, Deacon/Deaconness, Elder(s), or any Pastor and his case would have been attended to immediately without bias. Because the leadership of the church won't take their action lightly if at all, it is true.
(7) For the number of years he has been in the Church he is still not a member of any unit group? That cast a doubt on his true membership in that Church. Because if he belongs to any unit, he would have reported the matter to his own unit head.
(cool The Bible said, if you had a grudge against your fellow brother (Christian), never you take the matter to the judge outside, rather, present it to the elders (pastors) in the church for an amicable solution, we shouldn't allowed unbelievers to settle our matters.
(9) How will you feel when you caned your child and he immediately went outside to call your neighbour when he hasn't reported it to his mother?
(10) Your friend said the head of the Police Anti Robbery Team called him aside and told him to take up the matter. Haba! When a Senior (woman) Police Officer is around and had shouted at him, he still had the audacity to call your friend aside for at least 3minutes advice? Hmmmm!
(11) Think with your mind not with the head. I know there is an onslaught of evil allegations against the Body of Christ the world over, but, the good news is, They Shall Not Prevail. The Church will Keep Marching on until the day of resurrection.
(12) Shalom! Jesus is Lord!!
I am a christain and the head of a unit in my church but i believe the story. All of it may not be true but am certain about 80% to 90% of it is true.
I was a member of winners chapel, i now attend RCCG and still attend winner services when i can. I am saying this so you know i have no bias towards winners chapel. The truth be told most churches have a lot of thugs within and around the church but that does not necessarily mean their wrong/shameful actions are supported by the pastor or church authority. In most cases the church authority is not even aware of what is going on.

Its sad that we all continue to laugh at the negative trend of things in this country. Is there a single sector/industry in this country working as it ought to? Are we completely insensitive to the fact that there is a need for change or have we become so comfortable in our bleak state or is it just an instinctive reaction to a situation we feel helpless about?

RomanceRe: Sexually Harassed As A Child & Scared Of Sex by VANENON(f):
So sorry about your experience but you need to put it behind you and get on with your life.
I tell you the truth at least 50% of ladies were molested sexually during childhood what differs is the extent of the molestation and the person or persons involved.

Be determined in your heart that you will get past this stage, pray about it and if you feel you need counselling, you can seek counsel but most of all your partner has to be very patient and gentle with you until you get over it.

1 of the best posts i have seen on nairaland.

Thanks its nice to be reminded of the important things every now and then.
Spent my last month salary without a budget plan and i have already made some senseless purchases on clothes that i dont really need.
Let me add a few i try to run with.

1. A fixed monthly saving plan of at least 20% of your take home. If this can be done at source all the better. This is for capital investments only (land purchase and the likes).
2. Take care of all necesities/responsiblities 1st. e.g, Tithe, utility bills, nanny and security salary. Allowances to family then my childrens must haves (Baby food, pampers etc) Then i can afford to look at the nice to haves.
3. Before your salary comes for the month let your spend plan be in place. I missed that last month.
4. Put another monthly saving plan in place for things like rent, a new car and school fees.
5. Avoid unnecessay expenditures like big birthdays, naming ceremonies the likes. Even weddings should be in line with what you can afford. Dont incur debt for weddings.
