Consistent ideology- He's punishing his 5%. |
if you want to know how the country is being run, please buy the book. Nothing is for free; not even information on how the country is being run. |
kingreign:You are actually correct. Wonder why it never occurred to me. Thanks man. Will do it this weekend. |
salvo583:My Toyota 2013 SE V6 3.5l does city 19+ mpg with the check engine light on. That's not even efficient enough. |
NCAN? Living the faith. Who Cares? NCAN Does. If you can't beat them, join them. Representing Trans Amadi Zone, PHC Conference. Peace! |
The rate at which people are killing pythons in this country Na Wa O. No be snake do una na. APC no be snake na. Or are they? ![]() |
All this rubbish is to distract us from the national assets they want to sell. APC we know your gimmicks. #SayNoToSaleofNationalAssets |
If you like put in place 1000 mechanisms for buying and selling forex. Bullsh#!t!! The naira would keep falling. Why should anyone buy your naira? Are there Nigerian produced items which you are exporting and for which people need to buy naira? PRODUCTION! PRODUCTION!! PRODUCTION!!! It is not rocket science. These is basic knowledge in economics. Balance of Trade. Production and Export!! Mtcheew! |
overcomer123:My brother, the FGN doesn't own anything, the Nigerian people do. When talking about these assets, the main ones are the JVs and NLNG shares. Again, which person in their right senses sells the geese that lays the golden egg? 5bn NGN has been spent maintaining private jets in the past one year. How much has the centre spent on agriculture? How many tractors have they purchased and how many agro-support centres have they built? Tell Me! What incentives and palliatives have the FGN put in place to diversify the economy to an agro-based economy? What percentage of this budget they are so keen on funding is for capital projects? How much of those projects will trickle down to the common man? When I say capital projects I don't mean cars, computers and buildings; I mean schools, hospital facilities, roads in rural communities, irrigation for farmers etc And this is the same budget you want to finance by selling off national assets and concessioning the f*@k out of our lives. You think transport cost is expensive. Wait till our roads are concessioned and airports also. All this for what? for what?? So that government officials can live large and be chilling. They speak for us. You should speak up too. |
RaggedyAnn:It is a union operating across private and government owned companies. They will not stop operating even if the assets are all sold off. What they are doing now is anything but selfish. I am not a member but they are taking a stand when every other person, our representatives, our governors have all been compromised. Nigerians should encourage them because right now they are standing for Nigerians. In the past, NLC would champion this, NANS would stand firm and great, civil societies would stand for the people, CAN would speak up etc. Right now, all I see is PENGASSAN standing alone where everybody else should be standing. When I say stand, I don't mean "just talking", like several people have done. NO! I mean threatening the government with a shut down of the country like #OccupyNigeria. If there was ever a time to strike, carry placards, hit the streets, shut down this country, it is now. And PENGASSAN is leading that charge. |
Thank you PENGASSAN. Our criminal government is willing to mortgage the future of Nigerians to finance a nefarious and fraudulent budget. They are willing to sell this country off to the highest bidder in the name of reviving the economy. How Sad! While companies and countries affected by this recession are cutting their extravagant costs and seeking new ways for revenue, our thieving government wants to continue their extravagance by selling off assets they did not provide. These bunch of criminals are willing to do anything to continue the extravagant lifestyles they feel entitled to- from the billions paid to lazy NASS members to our useless and clueless executives; from paying 5bn NGN for airfleet maintenance in 1 year to spending over 900m NGN (not factoring in loss due to exchange difference) on website update. And nobody is talking except PENGASSAN. Thank you PENGASSAN. This is the moment to rise up. After spending money gotten from the sale of assets, these demons will come for you and I. They will double our PAYE Tax, they will double VAT, they will introduce tax on data and telecommunication services. All for what? To maintain their ridiculous spending spree. These bunch of hopeless politicians and legislators mean no good for this country (already in progress). From the shameless thieving PDP (Patience Jonathan & Co.) to the clueless, confused and corruption ridden APC leadership. They are all useless. If the interest of the government is to raise funds, why are they not considering these companies going public? Why not sell their shares to the general public so that every Nigerian can have the opportunity to have ownership in our national assets? Instead they want to sell our assets to their cronies. What is this if not corruption? At least, the PDP people stole and yet left the assets behind. This administration wants to strip us naked. They want to sell this country. So after they have financed this budget, where will the funding for the next budget come from? Slavery? Not to talk of the budget. In the best of times, at the height of crude oil price, our budget never surpassed 4+ Trn NGN. Yet these incompetent executive prepared and approved a budget of over 6 Trn NGN. When discerning minds asked how they intend to fund the budget, they mentioned TSA savings, funds seized from corrupt politicians and all what not. Right now they are trying to sell our assets to their friends. God Help Us. No! We need to help ourselves. We need to take to the streets. I will rather have this country burnt down than let these thieves get away with this broad day light thievery. For those of you that want to play politics with this, just remember, after chopping this money, they will come for you and I. They will come for our kids and they will sell us into slavery. Imagine paying 50% income tax so that Buhari can maintain a fleet of presidential jets, ride in a 100 car motorcade, government officials can get 1000 USD as estacode (over 100 went to UNGA. Do the math). THEY WILL COME FOR US!! AFTER SPENDING THIS, THEY WILL COME FOR US. THE TIME TO CUT COSTS IS NOW!!. Before thinking of selling National Assets, government must first demonstrate they have cut off all excesses. The legislathieves must reduce their salaries and allowances. They should be paid just like civil servants. If you do not want to serve, go! IT IS PUBLIC SERVICE NOT PUBLIC RIPOFF. States must explore all avenues to generate funds internally and stop making stupid appointments like "Special Assistant on Traffic Lights". WTF!! I am mad. I am angry. And I will be on the streets. I cannot take this. You should be mad too. If you don't stand for anything, you will fall for everything. If you take this sitting down, you, your wives, your mothers and your children will be sold into slavery and you go dey look. The time to resist is now. |
People will just come here and be claiming fallacy. Fried rice better than jollof rice? Hooooow? |
chaelmic:Can I commission you to make a bigger version of this drawing for me. |
aieromon:Please how many of those who served under the last regime that they have been arresting and detaining unlawfully were indicted before they rubbished them in the press? |
Him go probe taya. Inability to understand simple economic concepts means that when technocrats act, he's unable to comprehend the issues at hand. Next to be probed once his tenure is over is CBN governor. Mark my words. We are on a very long thing. |
How is it that from govt to govt, generation to generation, this NFF remains embarrassingly incompetent? |
This is how the Catholic Church makes saints. People whose achievements in life so outweigh their weaknesses and shortcomings that we continue to remember them, generation to generation. Madam Dora, you were no saint, but we will continue to remember your great deeds, how you gave us hope, how courageous you were and above all how you exemplified a perfect Nigerian civil servant. Rest on! |
TheGoodJoe:My brother you don't have dollars anywhere waiting to spread o. We have to attract those dollars by making our country conducive for business and foreign investment. I'm afraid the naira will keep depreciating because as was said in the article, the CBN's intervention is not sustainable. |
In a free market, the value of our currency is dependent on our market and economic fundamentals- balance of trade, manufacturing, export, jobs etc. there is no policy or guideline that can sidestep these issues. I think we maybe setting ourselves up with these futures. Futures of 3.4 billion USD was traded yesterday alone. Assuming these are 1 year futures maturing in July 2017 and we maintain this level of daily transaction for a month, it would mean futures of over 100 billion USD would be payable by the market in a year's time. Are we guaranteed that level of inflow? Perhaps the regulators should introduce a cap on these futures. |
sagenrdy:Not quite but will do. |
siempere:That's still too soft. I want my jaw to drop. |
There have been gruesome deaths on this GOT but I feel like Ramsay deserves something really special. Nothing honorable like dying in battle. I hope the producers do not take that away from us. |
Who is this shameless ignoramus. States and FG shared money from the federation account. States used theirs and FG lost part of theirs to corruption. Upon recovery, you want FG to share the money again. Is it your money? Recover your own if it has been misappropriated and leave FG to implement federal projects with their recovered loot (except where state money is involved or monies not remitted to federation account). |
donbenedict:Bros I don't mean to insult you but you need psychological evaluation. You are not fit, psychologically. |
Mtn threaten to pull out of Nigeria? Why didn't they take that option? They should have called their bluff. |
Unike1:And lots of ignorance. The ignorance exposed here is just tiring. People say what they don't know and other people who do not know applaud them. In this era of Internet, it's amazing that people still come here and mislead others. Thanks for the further explanation. |
og2711:This is the key message here. Laid off/retrenchment/redundancy is not the same as being fired/sacked. When you have massive sack like you have in some banks, it is redundancy. And the law (labor act 1990) requires that certain payments be made to the affected persons. That is why the government asked the banks to pause their lay offs. Not because they can control who is sacked but to ensure the terms are properly defined and such affected staff getting their proper benefit. There is also nothing wrong with telling a potential employee you were affected by redundancy. If, however, the person calls the person back to resign, the company has succeeded in cheating him/her of his entitlements. This is wrong and unethical HR practice. All those involved can take out a class action suit against their former employer. |
HungerBAD:I cannot agree more. However, there are terms of disengagement. For a long time, our banks and financial institutions have abused their workers, firing and hiring as they please. The labor law makes provisions that are not followed 9 times out of 10. So, yes, while banks and financial institutions would sack based on business reasons viz a viz profitability, all mass retrenchment/sacking should be carried out only after due review by government to ensure transparency and due process. |
PissedOffWeed:I actually agree. Poor lighting, low hung drapery, centered rug, lack of throw pillows, color theme is just bad, zero accessories. An average interior designer could do so much more with this room. He's a hardworking musician, he deserves it. Bro get a pro. |
RedCapChief:Amen. Every spirit that wants me to Labor in vain, I cast and bind into the bottomless abyss in Jesus name. Dieeeeeeeeee!! |
Since GEJ is in town, they should invite him to commission it. It's only fair. |
If NDA consisting of 100 members can decrease production by 800k bbls/day because of Nnamdi Kanu, Biko calculate what NDA + Ex-Militants + New Militants consisting 100 x Y members will do if GEJ is invited by EFCC. (Take home assignment + open textbook) Biko Bubu, jokes apart, exercise caution. We are already in a bad situation. |
