What the fùck is this...Ambode everytime ...why must we overheat the polity. Ambode has options and they are

1. To contest via APC
2. To contest via other parties
3. To just do one tenure and run away without a fight

Enough of this.... We have enough other states . Of the South West wants one man to decide their destiny so it is , but they should stop this disturbance

Ambode has options ....they are many

He can fight his wars like Ekweremadu and Sarki
Or show his strength like Wike

He should man up jhoor

God bless you. I am tired of seeing this epic display of weakness, not by one man but by an entire region.
But whatever rocks their boat... Just enough about it already.

Politics / Re: ‘Don’t Panic’; Air Force Begins Training For Aerial Displays In Abuja. Photos by vascey(m): 4:06pm On Sep 17, 2018
ChangeIsCostant:
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) will carry out aerial display as part of activities to mark Nigeria's 58th Anniversary Celebration.

Consequently, there will be movement of NAF aircraft within the Federal Capital Territory from now till 2 October 2018 as NAF pilots commence rehearsals for the occasion.

Fighter aircraft would be flying at low level during the rehearsals.

The NAF therefore wishes to advise members of the public not to panic but to go about their normal businesses.

See more photos; https://www.nationalhelm.co/2018/09/nigerian-air-force-commences-rehearsals-for-aerial-display-in-abuja.html

Military display with with aircraft that cannot even retract their wheels. Are you displaying your technology or military training?!!

Congrats @vascey. Pls did you convert from ACCA? Is it possible for someone who has just ACA to go for CPA from Nigeria?

ACCA has a direct conversion agreement with CPA CGA.

Same is not available for ACA but there are some exemptions. I think you have to be in Canada to take advantage of them.

Check out this link for more details https://www.bccpa.ca/become-a-cpa/become-a-cpa/internationally-designated-accountants/

You're welcome bro.
I would like to know how much you were charged for membership and the means of payment (certified cheque or debit/credit card).
I'm expecting my membership in a few weeks time.

I was charged 750 CAD (excluding HST).
Consisted of 450 Registration Dues and 300 prorated membership dues split between CPA Canada (189) and CPA BC (111).
Financial year starts from April to March so I paid for Sept to March.
Paid with normal Zenith Debit mastercard. Exch rate - 291.4 NGN = 1 CAD today

Which province and can you pls can you share a timeline and the process?

Thanks.
Somewhere on this thread I enumerated the process. Will find it and send the link.
Timeline is about 10 months. Not a standard. I took my time because I am yet to receive PPR.
A good estimate would be 4 - 6 months for those converting from ACCA.

There was really nothing much we cld do about the agent, since he claimed we had to give him additional money,we had to just pet him we didnt do gragra o,dat he shld not worry we wld give him, hubby sent him some money and then we sent someone to go and collect d items for us,they had to send the food items to me in abuja via abc as we had left lagos d next day he called. Two scenerios there,i think the guy is fraudulent because different kind of items have their different shipping cost, food and electonics are more expensive so he removed those things to reduce cost,in removing those items too,d weight of our Luggage wld drop so there was no way it cld have amounted to d cost he was calling or he removed those items to hold us down to make sure he got his balance or we loss them dat was y we decided to just manage him till we got our items back cos they cost more dan dat 90k hia!!!my xbox1 noo with kenetic for dat matter, nooo!!!
So pls ask for gud recommendation for a credible agent before u ship,if he was gud i wld have given his contact on dis forum but...

Great stuff. Congratulations on your landing. Wish you the best.

Please keep us updated with your experiences so we too can learn.

Also feel like this is an opportunity to call on those who know Shipping Agents with integrity to please drop their contacts so that nobody will be scammed in the future. Every one of us needs as much money as we can gather for this journey. Having some fraudulent Shipping Agent cheat us out of it is definitely not good.

HotD thanks again for sharing your experience.

you can easily return to canada after your short landing without even when you havent recieved your PR card. All you need to do is to apply for what is called a PRTD (permanent resident travel document) from nigeria. fill the necessary forms online and then submit through VFS. You will get your entry visa within a week. its quite straight forward.
you can get your family settled within 5 weeks provided you are able to get suitable accommodation with minimal requirements within the time. Its becoming a little bit difficult now for newcomers in the GTA. I will advise you dont get fixated on a particular area only. keep an open mind in terms of areas of GTA you are looking at.

Coconuthead, on a lighter note, I hope it's not Accra VO that is issuing this PRTD. Those guys can delay for Africa.

While I agree with this stance, 70% of Nigerian electorates are not enlightened enough for him to start with this opening line.

For me, I have been preparing myself for life in Canada.

Location: Due to my intended career line and the fact that I love big cities, I have spent much time researching and decided on Missisauga. Most IT jobs are in Toronto. Missisauga is about 45mins away from Toronto and more affordable.

Accomodation: I've spent time on airbnb searching. My target is to leave in a part of town that is close to bus stops and not more than 25mins walk to the popular square one mall. I've found a couple of places and I already saved them. I have my favorite though - really nice place and host - will try to plan my landing around when this accomodation will be vacant.

Job: I intend to be a software developer. My computer science degree will do nothing for me without the appropriate training. I'm currently taking free online classes. I'm happy with my progress - working on some mini projects already (assignments). Still in training.

Further education: I'll certainly be going for a bridging program at Humber college in Toronto. Duration is about 5months. I will pursue a scholarship but if that fails, a loan will be next. There's a high possibility of an internship arranged by the school (at completion) and that is enough for me to get some Canadian experience and hopefully job offers. The program is in software development of course. Lovely syllabus they have.

**I attended a Planning For Canada session. It seems Catholic schools are 'cool' and quite competitive. Preference is given to Catholics. I already have my baptismal card tucked away. Called my mum and told her to remind me to go with copies of hers and my dad as well. Don’t have kids yet but just preparing incase they come along. Remain small make I even go register for communion classes...anything to show proof of Catholicship. grin

AOR - May 10th
Medicals - Passed
VO - Accra embarassed

I hope you find this helpful.

Impressive. How did u attend planning for Canada without ppr email or copr. I'm also awaiting ppr, Accra VO and April 27 AOR

Politics / Re: Hitler-poland Narrative: Is Senator Akpabio Declaring War On Akwa Ibom? by vascey(m): 8:37pm On Aug 21, 2018
Unbelievable!!!

And we have people supporting this statement, saying he speaks in parables.

To all those people, I hope the irony is no lost on them. That a politican chose to reference the invasion of Poland and the consequent Holocaust of the Jewish people while attending the burial of of his grand mother at a church whose savior is of Jewish origin is not only blasphemous but unforgivable.

Akpabio should be treated as an instigator of war, a supporter of Jewish holocaust and an Antichrist.

This should be condemned by his party, the FG, the international communities, the church, CAN, Moslems, Christians, the people of Akwa Ibom and all well meaning Nigerians.

It's unfortunate that Akpabio has moved from a party whose leadership is known for saying "his ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian" to this "war saw Warsaw and Warsaw saw war".

To think that this statement is being made in the period of Moslem festivities, where true adherents are preaching peace, is equally offensive.

We reject this statement in its entirety and will reject politicians like Akpabio. Nigerian politics is no longer do or die.

Say No to Warsaw in Akwa Ibom.

What a fool! He's just 27

We really need to start focusing on home based players, these half casts are only joining super eagles to gain popularity.
We do so well in U-17. But when it comes to super eagles, we start looking for bench warmers who want to use the national team to prove to their club that they're good enough. Or players in small teams who want to catch the eyes of big clubs.

I'm almost 100% sure that if we manage to qualify for the next world cup. This guy will come out of nowhere and asked to be selected

Victor Moses has done great things for his country. He's taking the road less travelled by making room for younger players, something our leaders struggle to do. He should be celebrated and thanked for choosing to represent a country which did nothing for him over England. Your insult is uncalled for and represents some of the things wrong with us as a nation. In representing us he's done more for Nigerian youths than many other Nigerians.

He was said to have strayed into the political tough, allying with Mamman Daura and a governor from the South-west to shop for a South-east replacement for Osinbajo in the impending 2019 presidential election.

The only news in this article is that the fulanis are up to their usual gimmicks once again- divide and conquer; so it's time to dump the yorubas and use the south east abi? Everyone should be alert to this plan. Buhari and his cohorts must be resisted in 2019 even if they wake Ojukwu and Zik from the grave and make them vice presidents. It is meaningless and we must stay awake to the trickery of these snakes.
