Hey Ex, I'm coming into town by weekend. How's about eating some ram witcha? I did say I wanted your classic collection before. I'm gonna come to Wondernet sooner or later. Rendezvous point that.

Rotflmaoshthra?

What's the extra shthra for?

You throw a hard punch for a petite lady. But i'd rather be punched by you than, than, than, oh forget it. It hurts.

Mac people, y'all are trailblazers. Keep the fight against monopoly up.

@Ex, the way I see it, laptop makers are like car makers, if you search enough you'll find the right specs (which is mainly what concerns me) but the 'ouch' factor is now the prices. I like Acer in this regard. They offer par or more at cheaper prices. People say it's because some are made in Taiwan. Then I say assembled in Taiwan. We have Peugeot cars assembled here and their quality ain't no different from what's obtainable in France. I have an HP but only because I was broke at the time I bought it and didn't want to have to buy a fake XP as I wouldn't be able to afford the OG. I saw this mouth-watering Ferrari editon of Acer and was like 'in time, V, in time'

@Ex veeeeeery classy

You see how foul mouthed Ex can be. I know you both probably have history.

And Ex, let's do this cryptic like before THEY lock this thread. If they do, maybe we can join forces and close threads we detest.

Oh great, Wanted was a comic too. Maybe you should give me a list of all the comics turned movies that there are cuz this is getting ridiculous.

@Gamine, it's thing to read between the lines but in your case it was more or less spelt out. You are n Niger. What gave? I don't know, but fact is fact. So where are my pecks at, eh? It must be a bitch browsing from wherever yo are browsing from.

And here we have Ex being uncharacteristically modest. That worth MY two pence. Really modest for a vermin from hell. Elves and demons don't mix, so I can't fathom the link with Ex and Gamine. Let's put it this way Ex is Gamine's Ex. So let's get a move on.

Awaiting a terrible shockwave from Ex and I'm bracing hard, oh so so hard!

@Gamine. I take it you're serving in Niger state. What do you say we hook up. Forget about all these fellas with their big gadgets. Nothing supercedes the real deal, no?

I also reluctantly saw Rambo IV. I must say I didn't regret it. The most concentrated 1 hour 20 of senseless murder and maiming I've seen in a very long time. Natural born killers' like

Y'all are still at it I see. First someone said since Nollywood bother me must I bother it. In other words, I should not watch any garbage spewed from its incestual loins. Okay, fine and dandy. I accepted this logic. But after a while I changed my mind cuz nollywood does bother me even if I don't watch it. Every time a film is advertised on TV, I go peptic. It is deranging some of my family members. I have cousins who used to watch films like Finding Forrester and Jumanji now resort to, well, Rihanna versus Beyonce, is as good a guess as any. One of them recapped an episode of X-files I missed to me and I felt like I was watching it there and then. That was in 96 or thereabouts. Now, she can't properly follow what happens in Pokemon. Is that mental degradation or what? If I wanna watch an important football match and some crazy old woman comes, you'll have to switch to something 'closer to home'. There's a video club close to my crib; the deranged owner play films and turns up the volume to the highest so the whole neighbourhood can get a feel for what he's offering and disturbing my beauty sleep.

If this is not a good idea of disturbance then whatever that word connotes is lost on me.

While y'all are at it, scrap wack adverts that make me have nightmares. Instead of being informed of products, now I have blacklists of products. Like that Leonart or something (antimalaria drugs). It insults my intelligence!

My brother brought me a Scrabble game. I installed it last week but only got interested in it yesterday. Me and the CPU got it rolling. After a while the CPU plays Caress. Then handle. Then Hard (I didn't think in terms of Hard formica, I thought Hard-on). When the darn thing played Suck, I closed the computer and went to read a book. I'm wondering what this means. Am I getting none or is the CPU a rauchy bastard?

The above is a true story, not for effect

Here's a bummer!

Have y'all ever wondered when we get to heaven (mighty confident of me, abi but I abhor 'if' in that case) will there be new colours. Not new mixes and new tones and whatever but new 'primary' colours. Say for instance you hadn't seen blue, any shade of it or anything like it before. And all of a sudden you're faced with it. Can you imagine a new colour, surely impossible. It's not even as likely as a monkey typing Romeo and Juliet, because the chances are nil. I used to be bothered whether, say, coffee tasted the same to everybody, but after a lot of reasoning and more reading I've concluded that it does. Most perceptions are universal! Rantings of a stark raving mad man? I'll be back with more itches I can't quite scratch!

Ah. Our Lady of Sisikill. I have a good feeling about this thread. So the rules are there are no rules, huh?. Just bare your mind? I'll be sure to return with whatever bites my soul. And by the way, since I'm still breathing, chilvary is not dead just decimated. You know, like Hip-pop.

Just saw Wanted yesterday and about the first 13 mins was the best part of the film. The rest was just a symphony of contretemps and inconsistencies. Those assassins don't sound like they know the meaning of discretion. The worst Jolie flick in a long time.

@Spicy007, you do good by falling for Ludlum for he's my all-time favorite author.

@Sirwebs, when you finish 'The Rule of FOur' tell me if you think it's better than "The Da Vinci Code". I read it and my friend literally threw it away. Do you think the Duo will write another?

TV/Movies › Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(op): 1:52pm On Sep 19, 2008
I agree with Ex. But unfortunately some remakes end up insulting the original. Some movies make me thank God people didn't know there was a book where the material was drawn from. Remakes are fine and dandy as long as the remaker doesn't get carried away and realises that the reason why a remake is a remake is to better the original or seek originalty in the perversion. There've been really fine works that are success stories. LOTR couldn't have been made better. It's that simple. Jackson was in Prof. TOlkien's head and more. I'm reading a book that seeks to 'remake' LOTR. It's up to the umpteenth edition by some bloke and Tolkien's son. Not really pysched about it but just curious. It's called Parma endorion or something of the sort.

Though I think what Spikyn is saying is that films should be made closer to whatever material they draw from and Ex is saying films should be made better, period. Thus Batman is a better adaptation and TDK is a better film (plus Batman Begins) But seriously too much hype kills a film. If there's little hype by the occult fellowship like we have in Memento, The Dark City, Bram Stoker's Dracula etc. They remain forever classics. But when you start to make it the subject of hair dressers and mai suya's you get The Matrix. Permit me this smiley grin

Never heard of Changeling but it sounds good. Does it have anything to do with a shapeshifter? If it does then this is a landmark for Gramps Clint. Delving into such stuff, Baba should know better.

If Keanu has to go, he'll go with his head on his shoulders at least. Watchmen seems to be the way to go. I'll be sure to see it early before it gets a bantering hype and demeans up and coming Snyder.

And uh, Spike? Mr. Deeds goes to town" is easier said than done. I didn't know "Big Fish" would be good when I saw Ewwwan McGrinning in it. Is it not the one that has something to do with time stopping when you're in love? Bedazzled, will do!

Careful Ex, this punching bag swings back so fast that Mo Ali couldn't dance around it quick enough. hehe. I'm afraid I've not really seen TDK yet. I just finished some exams, so I'll be doing some updating. I can't say I doubted Snyder's talents. It's just that I'm not as familiar with Watchmen as I would like, but from what I gather, it's very mature fun like Tin Tin. I hope you like Tin Tin before punches start getting thrown. What's cracking everybody. I had exams, what's y'all's excuse?

Men, Ex! I think I believe beyond doubt you got yourself a secretary and just blaze on. What's with these trigger happy moderators. They just locked the Bad movies thread. Things were just beginning to reach the right temperature. Bros Seun even came to bother me in one other thread. I might be on the road to joining one of the freedom fighters (aka terrorists aka banned folks) I'm that fella has a some sort of software to link to thread where either Seun or naija films are writ. Where's Sisi now? In case you're here, the roads are not the same. The one I refer to is after Katsina road roundabout. Not in kawo. But it'd have been some fun right, putting the pin on the right spot like that. I think Ex has an idea or he might be bluffing. Twinstaiye, please unlock the thread, we'll behave (we'll try)

Foreign Affairs › Re: Why Do Most Nigerians Want Obama To Win? by vescucci(m): 1:46pm On Sep 06, 2008
@topic. Maybe it has something to do the fact that he's of African descent.? Or he's a democrat. The whole world suffers (or enjoysdepending, ) from U.S. policy. So maybe we have the good sense to wanna breath of fresh air. Or maybe it's that quasi-Bush Mccain's face that's just so darn disgusting. It reeks of a dishonest politician. He can't even look the camera in the eye, let alone real eyes. All this is just a guess
