4words:And you think Nigerians don't suffer from depression or choose to die by suicide? You're most likely from the SW; the pride y'all have in being "loud" and living life in a frantic pace is something I don't understand. Most Nigerians are always in a hurry; quick to speak and slow to think. Coupled with the fact that they have an unregulated appetite for food. Of course, I've found this trait to be prominent amongst the poor. Travel to developed places, or better still, mingle with the elites in your society; then you'll discover that your mentality is still under the rock— the world has left you behind. You're taking pride in traditional acts that has not produced anything positive in recent civilization. Continue wallowing in your ancestors' shadows when the world has moved. |

Introversion can be a curse. You'll find yourself talking to walls, insects, trees, & even your shadow sometimes: Everything but fellow humans. Suddenly, all energy is gone & all you think of is the warmth on your sofa. It is for this reason introverts walk fast. To get away from the noise as soon as possible. Because such noise drowns out their imagination. And they need to be alone with their minds like one needs oxygen. My biggest concern is that one gets so comfortable in their skin, they might never admit a partner into their space. Because where the extroverted asks "why not", the introvert asks "why should I admit you into my space? I am missing nothing". It would explain their impatient, unforgiving nature. Can an introvert truly love another as they love themselves? I doubt it. But they try. I am introverted. This is my reality. I hate small-talk. I have a short attention span. If I don't care for you, I will not remember your name. You'll mostly find me in nature, Crowds make me claustrophobic. I can't stand noise. I love being in control: It's a curse & a blessing. If I'm talking to you, I made that decision. It's not accidental. It's not the first time I saw you either. I have been assessing you. Leave your shoes at the door. Don't be loud. Don't stay too long either, I soon tire of company. Don't call me. I'll call you. Keep your distance Don't lie to me, I will never lie to you. But if you lie to me, I have a wilder imagination. I will always out-lie you. Remember that, it will come in handy. I don't fight for people, I walk away. If I do you right, do me right. I can be selfish, look after yourself around me. I have conferences in my head. Sometimes, it gets heated in there & I end up mumbling it away. If you catch me at it, I'll pretend to be singing/rapping. Don't ask me: "who are you talking to?" Save us the awkwardness. All in all, I'm an introvert... And I love me. |

I got the Oraimo Toast 10 power bank (10000mah) few months back and its been a colossal flop! This thing takes nothing less than 52 hours to get fully charged. And when fully charged, it barely powers my phone twice. Can someone recommend any good power bank? One that charges quickly. |
joudini:Modified. Thanks for calling this to my attention. |

Nltaliban:I kept refreshing. I thought I was banned or mysteriously kicked out. Lol. It took me sometime to finally unravel what was going on. |
Flytime:It's quite unfortunate the thread had to be shut down. I can attest to the fact that the previous thread was indeed helpful. I benefited tremendously from the tweaks and discussions. It was like a solution centre for all Xiaomi related issues. However, no need to cry over spilled milk. We move. |
The previous Xiaomi thread was deleted probably due to a breach of one of Nairaland's rules. Please guys, let's learn to accommodate each other's thoughts regardless of varied opinions. This thread is intended to spur Xiaomi users to discuss, post questions and make inquiries about Xiaomi related products. |
Ajoboss:I sent you multiple messages on WhatsApp. No response. I felt you were probably taking a hiatus. |

sajmark:I've been using my RN7 for almost a year now without any screen protector and I've not had a single scratch on the screen! However, as a new user back then, I was very cautious of my device. I didn't wanna take chances even though the manufacturer explicitly stated the phone came with a Gorilla Glass 5 (the best back then as far as durability is concerned). So I opted to get a screen protector during the first month I bought the device. I ordered from AliExpress and the tempered glass arrived in a few weeks. I was glad. At least my device would have extra protection. But unfortunately, my excitement was short-lived. As I was about putting the tempered glass on, it broke! I dunno how it happened but it broke even before I had the opportunity to have it settled on my phone screen. Apparently, the tempered glass I was hoping would protect my phone was even more fragile than Cabin biscuit. I thought about getting another tempered glass. But once bitten, twice shy. So I said screw it! Ama use my device with no screen guard whatsoever. It's been almost 12 months and I and my phone have lived happily ever after since then. The weird stuff is, my phone still looks like it was bought yesterday! I would love to applaud my cautiousness, but I don't think I'm really that careful. I sleep on it mistakenly [sometimes]. My female friends take it away for hours for photos and movies. It has fallen from a transit. It has dropped from my hands [countlessly]. It's been mistakenly thrown to a wall. Behold, my RN7 liveth on. NO SCRATCH on the screen! Probably I'm just lucky. However, here's my final verdict: If your screen takes a hit than it can bear, it will crack! Tempered glass or no tempered glass. The Gorilla Glass 5 is solid. It can withstand a considerably strong hit and even repel scratches (I can attest to this). As for tempered glass, in whatever variation they come, they offer no real protection for your device. You're better off using your device without one. |
Epositive:Well said. |
DeeMarh:I hope this doesn't come forth as being critical. I can't help but ask, how were you able to stay in a relationship with someone who was cheating on you? I mean you found out, chose to remain in the relationship, until HE finally broke up with you. Did you at any point feel you might not be able to find someone else who'd accept you [your personality]? |

Been through lots of posts here and I've noticed people seem to be battling with their personalities. I've been through what most of you are currently experiencing and I fully relate with the feeling. Sometimes I feel genuinely sad when I read through y'all post. I've been through lots of depressions, battled with inferiority complex, and also experienced social awkwardness. Communicating with others was difficult as I often don't know what to say in conversations. Plus I had zero friends. At first, I blamed it at my personality (being an introvert). But later on, I got to discover that my personality wasn't a disadvantage. It's actually a blessing. The thing is, if you don't make deliberate efforts to understand and know yourself, you'll always think you have a problem. I took on the task to understand my personality— devouring all I could on subjects pertaining to psychology and philosophy. Little by little, I started understanding my likes and dislikes; my tastes; my preference; my kind of music etc. I learned to accept myself and it changed everything. I got abreast with my abilities and worked on my flaws. I'm far from being perfect but I love myself more and I'm much happier than I used to be. I still fall into depression sometimes but I don't remain there. I always manage to get up and keep forging through life. Dear introvert, the fact you're not like the rest of the larger population of the world is exactly what makes you unique. You've got more abilities and skills than you realize. Stop trying to become what you're not just because people tell you you're "weird." You can be an introvert and still accomplish great things. The first step is to fully understand who you are. Your Creator infused this personality in you because He felt it's what you'd needed for a successful life. It's not a mistake you're the way you are. Embrace yourself. Wear your insecurities. There are over 7 billion people in the world and no one is like you. That's your power. Goodluck folks. |
younowell:Lol. Introverts are literally having the best time of their lives. We've been self isolating since birth. |
GrandMufti:Thank you so much for the recommendation. Will do asap |
shedy03:Honestly it used to be my favourite. The speed was superb and the desktop string was really effective. It could render pages (in desktop mode) that ordinarily had glitches when accessed with chrome. But since the new update, they made a flop. |
Trust me, we going to be the last set of people to be infected given if the virus were to go round
