Cyndas: @vicjustice, thanks for all the advice given.i actually read from the first page and intend to apply for my visa as soon as i get my tax clearance and annual leave document. It's my pleasure ![]() |
Interesting, previously, they never would accept a photocopy from anyone except they made the photocopy themselves |
That is amazing, I'm glad for the Impala that took refuge in the car with people. |
camelus: Hello VicjusticeYou will be refused again if you re-applied, if your business isn't registered, then it is deemed illegitimate and as such, it can't be used as a credible occupation |
baslone: It is there on the UK Border Agency webpage. That must be a new development probably applicable in Nigeria or other similar countries, it doesn't make sense except that it makes their jobs easier |
baslone: Does this include photocopies of bank statements? Stuff is already bulky! That quote that says "for every document that you provide, you must include the original document and a photocopy", where did you get it from? The info is incorrect |
FrontPageLawyer: Good morning, my company's account runs steady, but has no funds in it. Can i still include it with my current and dom?Account submission is not to show that an account exists, but rather to prove that there is fund available to you for the trip. For orderly coordination and security reasons, you are to attend the embassy only on appointment |
FrontPageLawyer: Sorry to bother you again, but truly I don't want to make another mistake. @ the bolded. The system is designed to automatically submit your application online as well as to allow you to print out a copy for manual submission. Now, there is a blank box provided for ADDITIONAL INFORMATION in every application form, you can make use of that, and also, you are allowed to use extra sheet(s) if you deem it necessary. If you make use of an external sheet, simply write your reference number on it and staple it to the printed form |
reginabellca: Because it can be disolved within the bank receiving authorization from me. it is equivalent to liquid cash. all this i exolained tooWhy not "dissolve" it first before stating that the money is available? It is questionable if it remains in fix deposit |
pullyacap: Goodmorn All,It is not necessary, but if you think the reference letter would explain something to aid your application, why not? |
FrontPageLawyer: You're richly blessed Justwise. For question 7. the other kid has no passport, but it seems it's compulsory to fill in something in the field, it can be left empty, keeps returning, maybe i'm not doing something right there. That is a flaw in the online application system, you can't proceed until you fill in something in the box, so it is understandable if you enter any invalid detail just to allow you to proceed with the form... But remember to explain it in the as ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. Trust me, the visa officers are aware of the problem: I talk from experience, you won't have a problem with that |
reginabellca: a Enquiries - Part 2 by reginabellca: 1:29pm On Jul 03How can you claim that the money in your fixed deposit account is available to you for the trip? |
Proudlygemini: Hello guys, i'm finally applying for my tourist visa next week but i still have somethings i want to verify with the experts. i have followed the advise given that i should apply for a tourist visa instead of a spouse visa since i would be away for 2weeks. Still note that my hubby is a british citizen i plan on adding the following documents to my application:This application will be treated in its own merit as long as there was no illegality or violation involved in previous applications |
dalobaba: @justwise. Pls I need you to tell me what to do pls. I submitted my 6month visa application on the 14th of june and I'm yet to hear anything till now. It has passed 15working days. Here is my feae, I said I will be travelling to ukon the 15th of july. What do u thibk I should do because I'm fed up with wait wait waitThere is always a general warning that visa applicants should give plenty of time to process applications as delays may occur due to uncertainties and circumstances beyond their control, and in the event that your application is decided after the purpose of your intended trip has expired or is in a tight situation, your visa application may be refused for reason of "change of circumstance". |
pullyacap: Great day to you all,Actually, it is easier to book a hotel than to use an invitation letter from a person who you can not satisfyingly give details about |
Dear Redwoods Have you gotten the visa yet, if not, how do you intend to go about it? It is extremely important that you reply to this, it may save you a huge trouble |
Rexwoods: Good morning all,Click the link below to read more before making your decision: https://www.nairaland.com/1050974/warning-pregnant-women-travelling-abroad |
sola21: Error meant 1.63 . If i did not understand why he asked me d difference btw a family visitor and tourist visa then more light should be shed on it or you just ignore the question. I guess you should know that was a mistake as from my earlier thread with you where I mentioned I was a salary earner. I guess it's a forum to ask questions so why do u have to mention that am so worried cos of a uk tourist visa. If you consider my questions as worry then I guess it's not an interactive forum. Anyways thanksAgain, misunderstanding is the issue here, it would have helped to read between lines and see that there's no need for all these. |
sola21: Dear just wise, thanks for your response. From ur question, family visiting visa is when u have a family in uk and visitor is when u are without a family in the uk, the point I was trying to drive at is hope cos my boyfriend is on psw dat hope it wouldn't hinder our visa processing I didn't mean influence that was why I asked if you thought it would be more safe to book an hotel instead of putting his address down in the form. Also with booking an hotel would it raise an eyebrow that why would I want my child and I to stay in an hotel when we can stay with him and also that why am I applying for visitors visa when I ave a bf on temporary psw. It's just raised questions I need to she'd light on. Also just to add this, my son and I have an American visa which we were issued in April 2013 but we are yet to use it, hope these would affect getting a uk visa as well. As at today, my acct balance is 163 million hope it alright for my child and my application. Thanks alwaysWell, you don't seem to understand the reason Justwise asked you that question regarding the difference betwen Family Visit and Tourist visa... I thought these issues had been raised before and they had been addressed... Now, about the American visa, that could only be a problem to someone who doesn't seem to have enough fund to finance two international holiday trips: but as someone who has a hundred and sixty million, why do you worry so much about a Uk tourist visa? Except there is irregularity with your huge finance causing a concern of corruption or dangerous activities especially such that finances terrorism. If you're clean from these, I see no country that won't be happy to grant you something more than a tourist visa |
morizboe: well I'm making this enquiry based on what the receptionist said that "statement of account must be in my name and not sponsors and the embassy doesn't care about how it was deposited on the condition that the money would not be touched throughout the duration of the visa processing". Me self was surprised to hear him say it and then I extended it here for inquiries to see if anyone has encountered such policy with any embassyi was actually having VISIT VISA in my mind when i wrote that, regarding the bank statement. Well, my answer regarding your sponsor's personality stands: the person that you said would be be sponsoring you does not qualify to take that role |
lankywizar: Hello Justwise,I got a 6 months visa and travelled one with it in June last yr and stayed for 10days,I intend to apply for a 2 year visa and have only about 650k in my account and my net salary is about 250k montly. Wld dis be sufficent to get the renewal.Your salary is very encouraging, but your savings balance is questionable and discouraging, you could be refused because, you don't seem to have enough fund to finance your trips |
isaiahethan: Hi justwise &partners, pls i'm new to this site,I applied for right of abode in Nov last year,it was refuse by the Eco in febuary this yr,his statement was i'm not satisfied you qualifed for the right of abode, reason non of my parents is uk citizen I have the right to appeal against this decision.I applied cos I have a contact order issued by the uk court to come and see my son, whom I hv not been able to see, inpite all his been through since last year.my partner who is British is there alone looking after my boy who she had premature due to the pressure and stress on my removal in 2011.then my partner gave birth to a 26wks baby.but thank God my boy is geting bigger now and they need me and I miss the both of them madly .this matter is so stressful for me,but my only hope and faith is in God.I appeal to d tribunal through my lawyer in the uk.my hearing is gonna be in paper, ain't got money again to be spending in pounds.waiting for there bundle which they stated is gona be on 21or after,of August 2013.I put in my appeal towards d ending of febuary.2013.before my removal ukba refused my application stating that I claim to be in a relationship with a British citizen, cos they hv set out a removal for me.same woman they claim i'm not in a relationship with, she is the same who gave birth to my beautiful son.thank God court in the uk granted me contact order unopposed.pls sir wat can you contribute towards this matter,I'm goin crazy each secs I get call frm my girl friend picx of my gorgeous boy.please also pray for me.What God are you calling upon to see you through? That must be the image of a god that you have created in your own heart and mind... You profess yourself religious in that you call on God and you hope for His favours where-as it is the same God that you have broken his commandments, committing adultery (or fornication) by sleeping with a woman for the purpose of self convenience; and by taking advantage of an innocent baby whom you have brought into this misery. Typical Nigerian characters, Yes, Nigeria: a country where armed robbers would pray for God's protection while going for operations, and a 419er would pray to get victims, and Prostitutes would hope in God to protect them from ill-health: and their Pastors would demand tithes and offerings from them to purchase private jets. May God's judgements be revealed on all those who bring reproach on His name, those who cause unbelievers to blaspheme His holy name. Look, i understand that you may hate me for this, and i also understand that i can't be liked by everyone, so, it is ok; i can do with one other person hating me: i wouldn't have gotten into religion with this had you not started the religious talk and requesting prayers |
morizboe: This sort of story sounds weird and never easy to believe anyway, but my story is nothing but the truth. but Vic, have you seen that situation whereby the embassy is not interested in the source or how the money was deposited as to consider lodgement, but only wants to see a certain amount in the very applicant's account? could what the receptionist said be truth? dear Vic, I am counting on your vast knowledge and experience to help me get through this hurdle . I will be so happy to hear your words again. God bless youAre you trying to encourage yourself by creating an imaginary circumstance that never is? If it is true, that "the embassy is not interested in the source or how the money was deposited as to consider lodgement", why do they want to see bank statements with six months transaction history? (edited) i was actually having VISIT VISA in my mind when i wrote this |
morizboe: Thank you Vic, I am really getting some wonderful insights. As you asserted, this name wahala is found in almost every family. The affidavit would be good, i think we'll go by it. let me discuss with my brother. But i hope embassy would recognize it and wouldn't look at it as a sharp move to meet ends owing to the notion that fraud abounds large in the land of nigeria. But if we could pose that he is my uncle, what are the chances of a good result? less I forget, when I visited the dannish consulate at Asokolo Abj, to gather some information, though I was not allowed to enter but can only make inquiries through a half-way opened window of the reception, I was told by one of the uniformed receptionists that the dannish embassy doesn't want to hear about sponsorship, but are interested in the money in the applicant's account, that any statement of account I will be presenting must bear my name and my so sponsor can deposit the intended money to my account which is not meant to be touched during the length of processing of my visa. He buttressed his fact by concluding that this information he is giving is classified and that he is not suppose to be telling me this but because of how keen I've shown to be about it, that every information I needed has been supplied in the website. I was so dumbfounded to hear that considering the fact about money lodgement and the consequences. But I didn't believe him. I thought maybe he is newly employed and has not known the system very well. And in their website, they keep saying "your statement 0f account" or "the statement of account in your name". they've never referred to a sponsor so far in where statement of account issue is discussed in their website. and they would always say thatTo be honest, you don't have the best of chance if the person that you claim would be sponsoring you is your "uncle" with a different surname |
socialistic: @vicjustice,in 2010,i traveled and during that time i did a mini marriage ceremony to keep my fiance faith that i will be back to complete the remaining marriage ceremony and we went to the local govt to obtain marriage certificate, till then,i have not been to Nigeria and now i have make my choice to move to another country through study, either Canada,Ireland of Australia,do you think that i will mention that i am married and submit the marriage certificate for visa application but i dont have any photo that shows my marriage ceremony because am yet to do the remaining things on the head of the lady which i am planning to do this coming December as soon as i get to Nigeria.Thank youBeing Married or Single has got no advantage or disadvantage in this kind of application, but for the sake of your future (if you really see this woman as your life partner with the hope of future migration), then it is wise to state you true marital status otherwise, you may ruin your international future together |
morizboe: @Vicjustice.. the surname change started from my childhood when my guardian that I lived with started shortening my 'long surname' when she wants to write my name for me on the text books(Mc Millian etc) and exercise books she bought for me. Even my 'first school leaving cert' carries the shortened surname and from there to secondary school(my WAEC has it), until university. I felt relaxed as I couldn't see it a serious issue in the near future.see the picture - my surname is Ezeibeanozie and I started shortening it to Ezeibe, while my other siblings answer it in full and one of my siblings too has his surname as only Anozie. it's just out of ignorant of future identity issues!! Dear Vicjustice I am as confused as ever at this juncture as to how to convince the VO that he is my brother or is there any other means I can use to give an acceptable statement of account. If I tell the VO that he is my uncle, would that save me? And would a letter of sponsorship from him solve the problem? He owns a production firm and can afford any level of sponsorship, but the problem is the legitimacy of my family tie with him. wouldn't embassy accept sponsorship from anybody provided he has the required amount stocked in the account and can document that the money are at my disposal to use at any time? Dear Vic, if there is any other way out, please advice me cos i am running out ideas to solve this problem. thanksWhy not ask your brother to undertake an affidavit with the declaration that you have narrated here? The name adjustments are very understandable in the eyes of a Nigerian as such is a common practice: trust me, you will not be the first person to present such a complication to a visa officer, these officers are familiar with this kind of situation and would consider affidavit as a valid explanation it seems understandable that the compound surname has evolved through modifications and adjustment |
There are identity problems with Nigerians in every level (from the mountain top to the valley floor, from the grass root to the tree top) as the vast majority of her citizens find themselves involved in identity crises in one form or the other: Politicians too are not spared It is remarkable that (except for the people that you know very well,) you can not acertain a person's age to be what s/he claims: even the ages of the leaders (or should i say rulers) can not be acertained: it had since been an issue with Nigerians to adjust and amend their dates of birth to sooth their endevours or purposes being it in Politics, in Jobs-Careers, in Sports, in Travel-Documents, in Businesses, in Educations and even in Romance-Relationships. Name adjustment or abbreviation is another issue of identity crises that is comon with Nigerians, everyone knows someone who (officially) bears adjusted or abbreviated names: for example; Chidiebere or Chukwudi adjusted or abbreviated to Chidi or Chucks respectively; also, names like Temitope or Babatunde are shortened to Tope or Tunde respectively: Even a known male with the name Emmanuel is unreasonably shortened to Emma which eventually is a known name for female thus making it ridiculous in the eyes of westerners to see a name like Mr. Emma Tunde. Many Nigerians do not feel comfortable to say their ages even when celebrating a birthday. But why? there are some reasons for that. either because the celebrant does not feel comfortable to tell his/her real age to others who (probably) conceal their true ages or; the celebrant fears an omen celebrating a fake age and therefore, prefers the celebrated age to be a secret or; the celebrant is concerned of mockery by those who consider him/her younger or older than the claimed age etc. Gone are the days when anyone could apply for many Passports (travel documents) with any suitably preferred age, now-a-days, age crises is a massive problem with many people's academical documents when integrated with their travel documents. It is almost a Nigerian instinct that (by nature) people tend to conceal their identities without a reasonable purpose; many people would not want to say their real names to strangers especially for superstitious reasons: It is logical to expect a criminal to want to hide his identity, but decent Nigerians also find themselves preferring to conceal their identities for no reasonable reason; even those who live decent lives and are genuine in their activities. I think these are political issues and should be addressed politically: there is need for the government or NGOs to create more awareness in the societies to warn people of the danger of age cheat and the life-long problem that a person with inconsistence age can face, and also the consequences of recklessly using adjusted names on documents or credentials (except the user wants to permanently use the adjusted names). You might want to take a look at people's profile here (on Nairaland) and see how the vast majority of us prefer to undisclose our photos and ages etc |
elvis4: hi vicjustice i am new here i submited my spouse visa in ghana 3 months ago and i ev just been called and they ask for aditional documents ,does that means i have a chance? please tell me somethingOf course you have a chance if you're genuinely married, if the marriage is sustained, if your wife and you meet the requirements, why not? |
morizboe: @ Vicjustice I have been given an appointment at dannish consulate for interview on first week of july (for masters studies) and i have got all my documents prepared (certified birth certificate, certified degree results, confirmation of payment of 1st semester tuition fee, confirmation of students resident payment etc), but the problem i'm facing is sponsorship. The dannish immigration's website keep saying repeatedly that the statement of account to be presented to the consulate during interview MUST be that of the applicant or immediate family memeber like parents or siblings or a guradian for Minors and not for persons above 18. Now I am being sponsord and in my mid-twenties and unfortunately my sponsor's surname and mine are not the same, despite he is my blood elder brother. And if we try to deposit a reasonable amount of money in my account a week to my interview date, it will be seen as money lodgement-which is very bad. so against all odds, I am planning to present a sponsorship statement of account from my brother who has a different surname with mine. pls dear, advice me on the best possible way to tackle this stumbling block of sponsorship and difference in surname. would it really affect my application considering the fact that i've already paid tuition fee and housing fee? waiting to hear from you soonest. thanksI'm just trying to work out how a (male) person who you said is your brother could have a different surname from yours, it would be understandable if we're talking about a female whose surname is susceptible to change on marital ground. Well, however this may have happened and for whatever reason, it will onlyy be reasonable if there exist a document that declares the event, and in the absence of such, I don't see how you can prove him as a brother |
