Chinwem: I think you re honest. You don't have any savings which is true and you re still a student so it's not strange

When I was a student I presented my parents bank statements on several occasions

This is my experience and my opinion.....any body can chose to not to agree with this after all opinions are like noses

What else do you plan to tell the visa officer? A lie? That you run several businesses or import/ export alongside studies?

Stick with what you know .......Goodluck
You totally misunderstood the English.

Troyphelis: Hello guys, i am a student in the university and i am being sponsored by mother to travel to the UK as a tourist. When filling the application i was asked "what is the cost personally to you of your trip to the UK?? I said 'none' because my mother is sponsoring me and i dont have any savings to help out. Did i give the right answerhuh
Have you already submitted the application form?
If yes, then I will recommend that you withdraw it quickly because, you've just told the visa officer that you're travelling abroad without finance

TravelRe: Some Lies And Myths Nigerians Abroad Tell Nigerias In Nigeria by Vicjustice: 6:04am On Jun 03, 2013
1) Dont come here, life is not easy you will suffer just stay in Nigeria.

the truth is, life abroad is very easy and simple. In fact, if you go to the U.S with a legal visa, withing a month, you can get a job and begin working your way up while going to school. These people will come to Nigeria build houses everywhere, buy cars everywhere, spend money like there is no tomorrow, but when its your turn to go abroad they till you dont come its not easy? common think about it: they don't want you to be on their level that's it..

2)There is no freedom, Nigeria has more freedom than Europe, U.S etc

this is one of the biggest myth and lie Nigerians abroad tell Nigerians back home. The fact is, the freedom that American citizens enjoy can not compare to that of Nigerians. There is a saying that goes "freedom without rules is chaos" and this is what Nigerians don't understand. They are used to the type of chaos they endured in Nigeria; heavy corruption, bribery, terrible government, and unprofessional police officers. You will have to leave uncivilized ways back in Nigeria and adjust to civilized freedom....things like the Olu 4..is a no no

3)Everybody minds his/her own business unlike naija where you mingle and make friends easily, therefore he's more lonely there than Nigeria.

Another terrible lie. If you are a Nigerian and you live in the U.S or U.k and you are lonely..you yourself chose to be lonely period There are too many Nigerian churches and parties to attend every weekend for anyone to be lonely.

More to come
I totally agree with points 2 and 3, but I'm not quite sure about point 1

Troyphelis: I applied for a tourist visa for 14days and i was refused. This is what the officer said:
it says:1. "The onus is on you to qualify for entry clearance based on your own circumstances and your own intentions. I note that you have been previously issued a visit visa and travelled on 28/12/11. However each application must be treated on its own merits at the time the application is made".2. "You have stated that you are a student doing a Bachelor of Science at Central University College. In support of this you have provided a letter from them confirming that you are a second year student. However it does not state your progress and attendance to demonstrate your course commitmentand incentive to return to your studies after your proposed visit.3. "You also stated you are been supported by your mother who will pay for all of the expenses of your proposed visit. In support of this, she has provided a sponsor letter, business documents and bank statements. However, she has not provided any details of her income and financial commitments to demonstrate her abilitu to support you and I am unable to determine this from the evidence provided. Also, she has not provided any details as to the origins of the funds deposited into her bank account and whether they relate to her business, and I am unable to determine this from the evidence provided. I am not satisfied that the funds held in the account are under her exclusive control or that they are available for the purposes of your travel to the UK. I am therefore not satisfied that you have provides an accurate reflection of your personal and financial circumstances in Ghana as stated on your application.4. "I have noted that you are single and have not indicated anyone being reliant on you nor have you declaref any savings or assets. On the the balance of probablities, this demonstrates only limited ties to Ghana.Given the above,on the evidence before me,and the balance of probabilities,I am not satisfied that you have accurately presented your circumstances or intentions in wishing to enter the UK. This means that i am not satisfied that only a short visit is intended,or that you will leave the UK at the end of the period stated. I am also not satisfied that you will be adequately maintained and accomodated in the United Kingdom or that you can meet the cost of your return or onward journey.
Please help,i dont get it
The explanations are clear enough to me, What is it that you don't get?

I don't consider you a rich man, rich enough to want to visit Georgia as a tourist, I suppose you intend to go there to try your luck, and your mind-set is probably to advance to an EU country from there. If these are correct, then I like to discourage you give up the idea because, Georgia is one poverty ridden hell of a struggling country, where most people can not boast of €100 a month. Is that the Georgia that you were told about?

Hi there.
You have already made the application, so whatever i say now would be invalid and there would be no need to give hope or to bother you with anything. I think you didn't do too bad, but just wait for the outcome, and if anything you want to know after that, feel free to ask.
Note: tenancy agreement is OK, but you should have added at least, a utility bill as evidence that he truly resides in the given address.
As for the payslips, it depends on its quality, ie whether they are authenticated (hard documents) or regular ones. Read:

You must provide original documents (except the identification documents of another person). Failure to submit original documents may mean your application is delayed or refused.
HARD DOCUMENTS are documents that carry Security Authentications; or Stamps; or Seals; or Signatures; or Apostiles, etc: (For example; a Marriage Certificate), such documents must be submitted in their original states (except the document is an identification document belonging to another person ie your sponsor's passport etc). Any other document that does not carry any of the mentioned authentication is allowed to be submitted in photocopy state: Your hard documents will be returned back to you in due time.

dalobaba: God is truly the paramount eco. Nothing happens either good or bad without his consent. My mum has been given visa 3times without a bankstatement. I mean it. Thou they asked for it in her first application and she proved to them why she doesnt keep an account. She got her 2yrs visa twice without bankstatement. God skips protocols and procedures. Gbam!
Your Mom's age is definitely not in the category of those who pose immigration threats, it has been proven time and again that elderly people (who have spent all their time in their home countries) find it hard to live abroad, they find it boring and their tendency of being homesick, together with the fact of their low chance of employment is a driving encouragement for visa officers to approve their visas even with the least of documents: provided that there is evidence that the elderly person would be maintained: besides, visa officers are aware of the fact that many elderly people (in Nigeria) are poor with paper-works and documentations.
Let a young man of 25 years try applying in similar circumstances with your mum's and come back to tell us the result

baslone: @justwise or @vicJustice- A quick one

My personal bank details show salary of 200k lodged into my account at the last week of every month for the past 5months from the company account. I am the CEO of the company and I intend to support my application with both my personal and company's bank statement.

Mt first question is- Do I have to issue/present pay slips to support the provision of a salary paid to myself?
The standard requirement is an evidence establishing the fact that you are employed, and a proof of financial circumstances.
As these evidences can be seen in some bank statements it is therefore possible to apply for a visa without pay slips, but it is not possible to apply for it without a bank statement: but because Nigerian applicants are highly suspected it is safer to provide both your bank statement and your payslips

Godson311: Dear readers / posters,

Firstly i will like to thank justwise, vicjustice and other contributors on this tread for your support and assistance in helping people actualise their dreams of making credible trips/travel abroad.

My question: I submitted application for uk spouse visa and it's 9th week but still no feedback from them. The vfs tracking system displays no detailed stage of the application other than "Your application has been forwarded to BHC"

Any advice will go a great deal in helping cooling off the anxiety........... Thanks for you anticipated support

Regards
Spouse, settlement or family reunification visas are special rights category, though, they could come in few weeks in some rare cases, but most could take any time from 3 months to 3 years depending on the simplicity or the complication of the application.

xtasyt: Hi vic, great job you doing ?I want to visit d UK under one of dese 2 categories:
1.Family Visitor. Got all necessary docs from my UK sponsor. Also all supporting docs from my office.I have got payslips for 6mths with 150K after tax, even got my tax certificate, but d problem I am facing is my Bank Statement whch is wack.can I apply without it?my UK sponsor is willing to pay for my return ticket nd all oda tins during my visit. She is a close first cousin.
Your salary is not a problem at all, but your financial circumstance is; you can not apply for this category of visa without your bank statement: An adult who intends to travel to the UK as a visitor and is not able to fend for the trip and depends on another person for sponsorship does not meet the requirement for tourist or visit visa.

xtasyt: 2.Complementary vacation from the Organization
My coy is willing to give me this for the Xmas season for 2 weeks in d UK. Since they are aware that I have got relations dere, deres no issue of Hotel reservation.wl d UK sponsor along side my company as naija sponsor (all docs available), my tax cert nd payslip sufficient for this application ?without my Bank Statement ?

What has God got to do with the issuing of visa? It would have meant that it is impossible for those who are not as religious as you to get a visa.
My friend, this thing is governed by laws and regulations, as well as terms and conditions with requirements that need to be met, and God recognizes and condone such...

chiamo: @ Vicjustive Thank you for your response.
I am 53 years old.
My aim and objectives is to better my life and my family, and live in an environment that makes life condusive to live and survive in.
With my earlier written experiences, I hope I am eligible for job and can be able to be entrenched in the new country system easily.
Please respond !!
Only if you're a sport man, that's when 53 years could be deemed unsuitable, otherwise it isn't the oldest age to start afresh.
By eligibility, I didn't mean your qualifications or your professions in Nigeria, I mean the rights to work in the countries: and that right comes through difficulties and trial of time, you might see yourself and family seeking asylum and the outcome can not be guaranteed
TravelRe: Need Help And Advice by Vicjustice:
chiamo: I am a matured man, married with kids among who are grown-ups. I am self-employed with experiences in various fields’ .i.e business consulting, computer data entry, computer operating, freelance broadcaster etc. I have been opportune to travel some years ago to various countries like Germany, Portugal, Malta, Belgium, Hong Kong etc.
Recently I have tried to source for fund on couple of occasions to inject into projects that I know are commercially viable through finance houses and individuals but the result has been negative, with the resultant effect been financial challenge on my part. After seeing that I and my family are not finding it easy to survive in the prevailing financial challenge we are in, I then resolute to travel abroad for greener pasture.
I share my financial challenge conditions with some of my friends and my resolution to travel out of the Nigeria to either New Zealand or Canada for greener pasture. Some laughed at me saying that I am too advanced in age to venture into that type of mission, some asked me what I will be doing therein, while some said that it will cost me some years setback before I could be able to find my feet in the new country.
I have the ability to secure an invitation letter from any of the two countries I am opting for (New Zealand or Canada), with other relevant documents to be demanded by their Consular but don’t have the supportive bank statement of account to support the application.
In this vain:
A) I want reality, precise and mature advice on:
1. Is this my resolution to seek for greener pasture appropriate?
2. Is it true that at my advanced age I should not travelled out for greener pasture?
3. Will it cost me more years setback in either of the preferred country before I could find my feet?
4. Is there any venture or work or job easily available to be done in either of the preferred countries?
B) I need an interested party who would like to travel to either of the two countries and can provide genuine bank statement of account to support entry visa application.
Your responses will be deeply appreciated.
1) It would be appropriate to seek "greener pastures" wherever there is indeed the greener pastures.
2) I don't know your age
3) It depends on circumstances and your aim and objectives
4) There are jobs available in both countries for those who are eligible for them

miri8d: haha no no, I wouldn't go looking down some back ally for help in that sense.
Thankfully my husband has a job, just my mind is telling me the money saved and has in the current account won't be enough, hence why I thought it might be best for my parent as they both have a steady income and good savings. We will be staying at my parents house, so if he were to apply as himself as sole sponsor wouldn't he still need some type of sponsor letter from my parents for us to stay at their house?
Sorry, to go on, just making sure I have everything out on the table before I make any choices smiley
Oh, I thought he doesn't have a job, my mistake.
So now, as he has a job and does not have sufficient fund, you can be his sponsor while his job represents a tie to Nigeria, and your parents can write a declaration of accommodation details.
