alutacontinua: Pls, guys, i want to apply for a visit visa to the UK. My question is that how much is the minimum amount that should be in my sponsor's (father) bank account statement. Also, do i need to attach a bank statement of my own. I'm a foreign student. Would that increase my chances?Your answers are all here, click this link: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas |
diegonpaloma: @Hummmmmmm,now you making more sense to me ooo...as at 2004 i was deceptive in my applicationThere is nothing that would spare you from receiving a ban if you applied for a UK visa with all these deceitful discrepancies, and not just the UK ban, your other visas would be cancelled on the ground of identification data inconsistencies, your travel future would be doomed as you could receive multiple bans from many countries |
diegonpaloma: Man,thanks for the reply i really do appreciate even thou i did not intentionally swap my middle name to my first name it was an error at the immigration while picking up a new passport then year 2006 after i lost the former passport every other information is the same except the swap name..nevertheless i will stick with your advice to say the truth about my former application as at 2004,thou i currently ave a great travel history over the years been to over 10 countries since then till now...i really do appreciate your reply, but hope after comming out clean about my 2004 application they will not pounder over why my middle name is changed to my first name? as it was not an intentional thing o,thou the 3 names are the same just that middle name is now first name and first name to middle name surname remains the sameYou said you are coming out clean after your 2004 application, does this mean that you used deception in the past? If so, i'm afraid your recent travel history might not enhance your application and influence the decision of the Visa Officer: there is even a possibility that the UK embassy would contact the embassies that had issued you their visas to inform them of the record that they have against you; and that could result in the cancellation of your other visas. Note: I'm making judgement based on the limited information that you gave, so, it might not really be the case. Also, i'm aware of the fact that the banning system came into effect in 2007, but be aware that those who committed deceitful, fraudulent or misleading acts are still given the ban when they apply again. |
diegonpaloma: House..i once applied for a 6month visa in the year 2004 thereabout and was denied a visa, now i intend applying for a 6month visa this year 2012 with the same name, same date of birth and a diffrent passport and a diffrent passport number plus now a switch of my middle name to last name...i wana kno if telling the embassy that i had never applied for a british visa will not detected since there was no finger print thenIs there any reason for wanting to hide your previous application? Swapping your surname and middle name is not enough to conceal your person, with other matching data like your date of birth, mother's name & date of birth, father's name & date of birth, mother's & father's place of birth, mother's family name etc, There is a high chance that you will be found out and given a 10 years ban |

onuleo: Ever since i'd bn thinkin abt dz. How many nairalanderz knw of a place cld MAKURDI? Hw many tmz hv u seen a topic abt makurdi? Wow! U dnt knw? Itz zero. Cause u dnt knw wat a beauty dz plaz iz. Its sunshine z wat u cnt dsmise. Try a holiday in d town n d ladiez wld alwaz b glad 2 comfort u. Jst ride 2 Half Heavn hotels. U r wlcmVery good call, but: 1) It takes one person to start a conversation, so, if no other person talks about Makurdi, there is nothing wrong if you started it 2) You could have written it in English 3) Your post suggests that Makurdi is an ideal place for sex tourists and that Makurdi ladies are cheap sex workers 4) You are doing damages to the "Half Heaven Hotels" by making the impression that it is a brothel for commercial sex: No decent man would want to lodged in a hotel that you advertised in such horrible contexts. 5) You wrote as if every Nairaland user is a man; you left the women out Finally, is it correct that "out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks"? ![]() |
Besides, you have not earned enough paid holiday credit for which you deserve to travel abroad: it is calculated that every 6 months that you work with your company, you earn a 2 weeks paid holiday period. And finally, you need to be able to sponsor yourself, and the N500K that you claim to have in your account is way too insufficient.
Is 5months such a short time to ve worked n earned enough money??

Na wa ohhh had it been I lied shey it wld ve bn beta buh I normally dnt lie because I don work for 5months no mean say I go run naa besides itz a new job nuh like I wasn't workin b4.. Plss wats ur advice?? I plan to re-apply in december
It would be unwise to try to deceive them, the US embassy would get you banned from entering the USA for life |
I would be a bit concerned about the "sponsor" aspect and home ties/obligations though. You may want to refer to this link to read more: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas |
emmy384: D docment I attach do they qualify me for a chance to get the visa. Why worry over what you can not change, what difference would my answer make to an already-made application? |
emmy384: Good morning Justwice, I got your email address on nairaland forum. I've applied for a family visitor visa last month oct 18 but as we speak I haven't heard from them.Would telling you your chance make any difference to the already-made application? |
aibisoye: @allFor tourist or visit visa, you are not required to provide your birth certificate, but if you are applying for a visa by influence of biological or family relationship, then you would need to provide your birth certificate |
osun101: @allThere is a chance that the Visa Officer will not find out especially if your other documentation packages are satisfying; the Visa Officer might not go to the length of communicating with the hotel, but if the visa is approved and you choose to travel to the UK, you might have a big problem at the port of entry because, there is a chance that the Immigration Officer would want to confirm your place of stay. I recommend that you rebook the very hotel immediately since you might be unlucky (if the Visa Officer decides to contact the hotel): the Officer might then consider your hotel reservation as fraudulent and you might be extremely unlucky to be given a 10 years ban from the UK. If however you feel concerned about this, then, it would be wise of you to contact the embassy to withdraw your application |

usmsam: Mumu! Pakistani people r not arab. They r indian. Please go back to school and take geography lessons again. Mtcshewww! You called someone a "mumu" for considering Pakistanis as Arabs, yet you accorded Pakistanis as Indians, what does that make you? Now, Pakistanis are neither Arabs nor Indians, they are URDU People |
9jatravellar: Once a couple were on vacation. The husband was lying on the beach facing downwards on his stomach & the wife was patting him on his butt. He happened to ask her what she was doing, she said "I`m playing the Tabla" He turned around & told her "Alright now you can start playing the flute".Now, that is cool ![]() |
rckm:You're still lagging on this sponsor thing despite all valid advice that i gave you? I repeat, it is near impossible to get a visiting visa as an adult who can't support/sponsor himself |
Divake: Thank you for your response, would it be okay if I go for an affidavit? My middle name on my birth cert shows Abosede, while all my docs shows Cynthia.Even if you do the affidavits or whatever action you take to sort it out, i recommend that you don't drop any of the names (to avoid discrepancies), there is nothing wrong in having multiple middle names; It is absolutely OK to bear four or more names ie: Divake Cynthia Abosede Obasanjo |
frakie: please, anyone that know the amount of legalization of documents at russia embassy. i will like to study in russia and these are their requirements https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUC-JM_f7qg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j59BiLwdNO8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79wU5B6hAEQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rs1tn-v6mko https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVFg0rLhY2w |
I'm afraid, there is nothing like Dublin visa. I only know of Irish Visa. Abi, Vicjustice and Justwise pls have you heard of Dublin visa before? or is there a new country called Dublin?
It is really ridiculous how many Nigerians consider Dublin a country |
rckm: Thanks a lot.I've just edited my previous post, please, observe it |
rckm: I am in the process of joining.I am suppossed to attend the initial tests and assessment and they did send me a call forward letter. It clearly stated that I should be responsible for all my expenses until they give me job offer letter which may take upto six months to be ready that is if I pass all the initial tests.Well, you didn't state that you were going to attend a cadet training, trial, course or accesment etc. Now, i see what you meant. And to answer your question, your sponsor does not need to be physically present in the UK, but bear in mind that there are certain conditions that a sponsor must meet and not just anyone that is eligible to represent your sponsor. Please, refer to this thread and see the conditions of sponsorship, and if you have further questions after that, feel free to ask: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas. |
rckm: Hi vicjustice,You're going to the UK to join its Army, is that not supposed to be a big time job? If it is a job, will you not be entitled to salary (or benefits)? And if YES, then, why do you need a sponsor (if you are not going for studies but for work)? There are things that i don't seem to understand here |
Hello Justwise and Vicjustice: I was given a six months visa in January, which I travelled in March and spent 2weeks and my visa xpiry in July. Now, I want to apply for 2yrs. My problem here is that, I have changed my job. I was working with one of the Telecoms and was been paid 105k per month wen I applied. Now, I have a new job with 135k per month after tax and pension. What are my chances cos my circumstance has changed in the last 1yr. I believe I was given visa cos I was working with multi-national organisation that has name but now am working for a limited company with no big name. What are my chances. Thanks.
You were not given the visa because you were "working with multi-national organisation" but rather because you met the requirements. Now, it doesn't matter whether your current company is less renown than the previous: if your new company is registered and your paperworks are up to date and ultimately your job is secured (to satisfy the visa officer that you have something to return to Nigeria for), i see nothing hindering you this time: except perhaps you are new and still under probation at your work place in this case, you may be refused if your employment is not secured and guaranteed |

rckm: Halloo, vicjusticeSPAM is not the same as SCAM: You posted that same article all over the places, in every major thread, now that is called SPAM. By the way, your queries had been responded to and are still getting responses |
Divake: Goodmorning peeps,The reasons that you were refused the visa is explained in this link: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas. As for your birth certificate, you might not need to include the document depending on the category of visa that you're applying for, but however, it is wise to get that sorted before it gets you into trouble: actually, it would help if you give detail explanation of the names discrepancy |
