peter2010: Urgent response needed plz!!!You explained that you presented your bank statement which shows your monthly income, but that wasn't what the ECO explained in the refusal notice, he said; "you (your bank statement) have failed to provide adequate evidence of your stated income", so who is correct then? Well, with a monthly salary of N210.000k, I don't see any other reason for the refusal except for the proof of income. Now, a review could take a long time to come through, so i'd suggest a reapplication: and you can explain your situation in the provided space for "additional information", and if the space in not enough, you are allowed to use extra sheet: it would be reasonable for you to request for an interview, there is a high chance that the request will be granted |
Honestly its simple. America only allows a certain amout of people from each region "in" regardless. Its all about the "status quo". They even admit ppl from countries they consider enemies to appear to be this utopia and "rainbow nation of all nations" blah blah. Nigerian stereotypes may make up some of the reasons why Nigerians are denied in such high numbers, sure. And as someone else said, they know its because many nigerians if admitted would then turn and try to bring more from back home to join them. America does not want that. Thats soo true, in fact Look at how bad they've gotten on mexicans despite sharing the same border and despite the fact that mexicans contribute the economy and depite the fact that they help build the nation (literally!). Mexicans are family oriented and nationalistic people so they believe in helping their kind achieve the "american dream" even if it means smuggling them in lol. Americans still believe america to be a white nation - a mini europe away from europe so they want to limit the amount of colored folks that enter. And even if you do qualify, you will have to shell out hundreds or thousands of dollars (depending on where you are from) JUST to become nationalized! Lol they know what, they are doing. But i dare someone to please check the amount of europeans (anglos/germanic especially) they accept each year.. i promise you will see a huge difference....in fact i guarantee it.
Though, it is your entitled opinion, but i beg to differ that it doesn't make much of a sense to me. You can not compare Europeans who travel to the US with Nigerians (Africans) who travel to the US: Europeans do not need visa to travel to the States and they do return home after their visit; and unlike Nigerians, no normal European would go to the states and become illegal resident there... It is also important to know that there are as many American seeking naturalisation in Europe as much as Europeans seeking naturalisation in America; but how many Americans are seeking naturalisation in Nigeria/Africa? |
mosquitoway: hello nairlanders,Though, it is unlikely that you're under a ban, but the "problem" may be more serious than you think: being stopped at the port of entry and returned is serious enough to ruin your chances in future visa applications, it would take only an appeal to clear you |

YOU SHOULD EXCEPT TO HEAR FROM THEM SHORTLY TO COME AND COLLECT YOUR DOCUMENTS..........what does this message means please?..need an urgent response..................................You guyz didnt say anyfin about my last postYou're not doing any good to this thread with your spam (repeatedly posting). What else was in the email, or is that all? Well, with the little info that you provided, I find it reasonable to suspect that the email you got might not have been from a genuine school: it is questionable how the school knows your visa application status? |
justphillips: Vice-Consul, United States Consulate, Lagos, Mr. Christopher Richardson, says many applicants are refused American visas because they have not visited other countries. If every country has to refuse visa applicants because they have not visited another country before, then, who will issue a visa to a legitimate traveller? This is just as inconsiderate as a company offering employment to candidates who have had work experience with other companies: who then would employ a fresh graduate? justphillips: Richardson also said applicants were also rejected visas because of the kind of answers they give to test questions during interviews. This man should not be a spokes-man because his reasoning is utterly stυpid. How does having a relative in a country jeopardise the chance of a genuine visa applicant who wants to visit the country or his relative? The only thing that may jeopardise your chance of visiting a country where you have a relative is the criminal record, the reputation, the activities, the social stance and the history etc of the relative who you use as a reference |

I Hate 9ja: all i mean,is that can i get a new passport with the name format i want to be on it @ abuja.coz the lost E-passpost wld expire dis 13th december. In short can i process a new passport without my finger print being dectected due to the formal lost passport in their database in immigration office @ abujaI don't think you can obtain a new passport without your finger-prints, so, i expect you can't avoid detection. Well, i'll advice you to (first) go to an Immigration Office in your area and hear them before considering making a long trip to Abuja |
fishhooks: Hello VicjusticeGood to hear back from you and to know that your dealing with us resulted in a positive outcome. I really appreciate your coming back to say thank you and i hope this is not a farewell message from you. Stay blessed. |
I Hate 9ja: All member's of the house and Vicjustice.irrespective of my lost E-passport with my finger print & detail's in their database.pls can i get a fresh passport.Could you clarify this? |
suxes2005: The country is too far why not visit a nearer one?Man, you seem to think Hungary is in far east Asia, but it is in Europe and a member of the EU & Schengen, it has a common border with Austria: how is that too "far away"? |
guttentag: Can someone please brief me on how to apply for a Hungary Visa, i like the country and will like to visitIt would be interesting to hear what exactly you like about the country, Hungary |
Apart from other evil countries in the backward and dark Africa, where else could you find such barbaric civilization on the face of the earth where such evil is corporately carried out by a crowd of people, and there is no one, not a single person that raised a voice against such disgraceful act? Whatever that guy might have done, no one deserves to be brutally tortured to death without a legal trial and conviction, not even in the Taliban Afghanistan would you find these sort of disgrace: If only you realise how embarrassing it feels to Nigerians abroad |
SniperInADiaper: Evil people are all over the world - not just in Nigeria.OK, Barbaric Nigerians |
oxatto: Vicjustice I truelly need advice now! The thing is that I stated I am doing my I.T. And I concluded it 2 weeks back and for the 6months I was paid 30k but I wrote an agreement that on completion of my I.T I will collect all my money because I have planed using the money to add up with what I will be getting from my Inlaw, but right now I'm yet to receive an alert of the money from my work place I believe I will be getting it this new week we are entering. The Total Sum is 180k and my inlaw stated in his letter previous letter to the British High Commision that 500k will be available for my Trip I want to ask if he can make the deposit to my account and I attach the slip with a letter from him. With my the 180k it will sum up to 680k in my account everything will be 700k plus plus his bank statememnt and the document will that be ok cos I truelly want to visit UK this year before school resumes full. I need a full house advice on this cI warned you that you do not meet the requirements for a tourist visa: accumulating your 30k a month to make 180k, getting money contribution here and there and combining every Naira available is not what the visa officer is looking for; as an adult, you must be able to sponsor yourself. These measures of desperation will only help the visa officer to understand that you can't be a genuine tourist, or what genuine tourist would ruin his entire savings (plus borrowed monies) for a trip to the UK and then return home penuriously broke? Please, refer to this thread: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas |
salsera: VicJWell said, I really appreciate your understanding and support |
Obitrice24: Goodday, I do want to invite a friend of mine from canada for visit in nigeria and i will like to know when i write the invitation letter, Can i send the letter via email to her so she can print it and take it to embassy, please kindly reply back to me.Isn't your very question answered in the original post? |
I Hate 9ja: Expert's in the house,Pls can i be refused a visa in the nearest future that my name format on my certificate are babalola victor olalekan, while on my passport i av the format as babalola olalekan victor.though babalola is my surname.pls how much does it cost to get a re-issued passport @ abuja.pls wat are my chances here. The format doesn't matter, what matters is the consistencies of the Give/First Name, Middle Name and Last/Sur Name. But if you mean inconsistencies whereby the Middle Name becomes Last/Sur Name or Give/First Name replaces Middle Name, there that would been seen as identical crises which is a serious issue |
nuco: @vicjustice u have ended up giving him no advice, what are the requirements he needs to fulfill ?How did you know my action? You're only a new member and have not yet seen much of the works going on and yet you're pointing accusing finger? I have written and written, and i have given numerous advise, i have encouraged visa applicants who are prepared as i discouraged those who do not meet the requirements for visa. To further help people, i have written series of apen article such as: MAIN REASONS MANY ARE REFUSED VISAS https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas WARNING FOR PREGNANT WOMEN TRAVELLING ABROAD https://www.nairaland.com/1050974/warning-pregnant-women-travelling-abroad There are numerous other threads that i started to help people, but if anyone reads them and is stubborn enough to under-mind the explained contents by having "faith in religion", how am i to blame? |

oxatto: Hello Nairalanders and Vic please i just got my Pack from VFS wednessday this was the reply i got inside my pack, i was denied the visa and this was said:I had followed your posts, and I knew long ago that your application would be refused: also, I remember Justwise saying he would be surprised if you get through ... Look, forget about the documents to prove your in-law's relation, the ECO has multiple reasons to refuse your application because, you do not meet the requirements for tourist visa at all: even if you present the suggested documents in your next application, you will still be refused until you circumstances fulfil all the requirements. |
rockar: Thanks vic.I modified my previous post, you might want to look at it again and replace the quote. I will like to suggest that you apply for the visa as a vacation traveller sponsored by the company as a treat, by this measure, i don't see why you won't be granted a visa. But since you don't have your own independent account, if you chose to apply using the company's account, though you have a fair (not very good) chance, but don't be surprised if the visa officer finds reasons to refuse you on the basis of travelling to the UK using your father's company's account (even though you are in charge): how would you convince the visa officer that you are not going to the UK as a prodigal son, or to turn prodigal whilst in the UK? |
rockar: Hi, i want to apply for a uk visa with my blood brother inviting me for xmas holiday and his bday next month. The original article does not suggest that it is absolutely unacceptable to apply for a visa under the sponsorship of a company, it is only explaining that most company's accounts are unacceptable for visa application because, the money in them are strictly for official use only: especially if the company has board of directors or other bodies that make decisions on matters. But there could be an exception with some few (sole director) companies if the director makes the account flexible to allows for the use of the money for his personal purpose. If your parents travel abroad with the support of the company's bank account, it therefore means two things: 1) For a company's sponsorship to be acceptable, you would need to be applying for a training or a course, or a seminar etc that would be deemed profitable to your company in order to satisfy the visa officer of the purpose otherwise, it would be judged that the money in the company's account is not available for your use: unless your company is offering you a complimentary vacation under its care. 2) That visa officer is satisfied that the account is flexible and that the money was available for their use: and most importantly, there had might have been evidences of your parents using the fund for personal purpose prior to their visa applications. |
rockar: Thanks vic. I dont really understand ur first point, but My dad gave me the '' power of attorney '' last year after my service to his company because he is old and i am the last child remaining in Nigeria. I was made the director and a signatory to all company's account. I work and i am a director of the company now. I dont have a personal account because i always use one of the company account for all my expenses. So i am going to use the company's account which is always used for family trips. You seem to be in a good financial shape, but thing would be easier when done orderly. I like to recommend that you first go through the original article on the link below, and if you have further question after that, feel free to ask: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas |
rockar: Please i need an advice. I have a blood brother who is a citizen in the uk by birth. He had been living there for like 13yrs working. He has visited Nigeria a couple of time.1) You didn't give enough details of your circumstances to work with, won it would be premature to access your chance. 2) Christmas period is not a rush period for travelling to Europe, the rush period is during school periods and summer. Christmas season is the period when many Africans leave the UK not the other way round |
Just out of interest, is there any reason that this thread is un-sticked? I'm concerned because, a lot of people find it helpful as the article answers a lot of questions |
emmy384: @ vicjusticeDo not pay a penny to that "immigration lawyer" or whatever he represents, the main reason for which you were refused the visa is not about documentation, if the "lawyer" does not understand that then, his service does not deserve to be employed. The fact is, even if you modified all documents or, you take extra steps to authenticate them, you will still be refused the visa as long as your financial situation, social ties and economic circumstance remain the same. Please, carefully read this article and understand what it takes to meet the requirements: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas But why was this thread (Main Reasons Many Are Refused Visas) un-sticked? I'm concerned because, a lot of people find it very useful as the article answers a lot of questions |
BrownGold: @Vicjustice: keep up the good work here. More grace to your efforts. He who gives never lacks. Thanks a lot. I hope you're sorted with your queries |
tigoomoniyi: Hello house...Will be glad if anybody could clear me out.Your "human rights" may be considered infringed if they denied you a visa to see your own nuclear family (ie your wife/husband and your children). But you said you are a graduate with degree, so, I supposed you are a full adult; therefore, I don't see how your "human rights" are being infringed by the embassy for not allowing you to be a dependant on your mother and her husband. You wouldn't have any problem if you were 16 years of age, but as a degree holder that you are, I assume you're in your mid or late 20s, so, it's time to look forward to starting your own family that would accord you such "human rights" Finally, your dad is in Nigeria with you |
