kenny2gbaski: Thanks much sir. He is a Retired, but his pension fund plus his account status in my own view wont bring him close to getting a visa and i don't really feel putting a large some of money in the account just now is a good idea, though he has got some landed property. we have also thought maybe the family that invited him could sponsor him, but i feared the embassy might wonder why they decided to sponsor only him among other invited families. Is there any other suggestions you could render considering the account stuff and sponsorship? Thanks. If your Dad is an aged man, then, it would be OK for him to be sponsored. But explanation would be required as to why the host decides to sponsor him and what the sponsor stands to benefit from his travel. As for lodging money into his account, read about it here: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas |
Pitykitten: Thank you Vicjustice for your speedy response. As a adult tourist visitor, i'm afraid you can't be sponsored by anyone, not even your mother, and you can't use your mother's land property as a tie, you need to be on your own responsibility to apply for a visa of this category.
Now i understand. Honestly its good to have people like you here.. Thanks.
My pleasure ![]() |
kenny2gbaski: Hello Justwise, Vicjustice & othersExcept your father is an old dependant man of pension/retired age it will be unacceptable for him to apply for a visa using a sponsor: and under no circumstance will it be acceptable for his "Pastor or a Friend" to be his sponsor if the purpose of the trip has got nothing to do with them |
Pitykitten: Hello everyone,The only tie that you seem to have is your academical tie, so it would be good if you have good financial backing as well otherwise, it might be an up-hill battle to satisfy a visa officer in this regard |
speeder: Difference between Nigeria and USA: while US produced Mr bean we produced Mr Ibu. Holla at nija.Mr Bean isn not American product, but British? |
kevesia: I am now a us resident. I know I could wait till im a citizen and visit freely but that would be in 5 years time which just seems too long . Thank you so much for the reply. kevesia: I am now a us resident. I know I could wait till im a citizen and visit freely but that would be in 5 years time which just seems too long . Thank you so much for the reply. The concern that the UK immigration has about you is the possibility of breaching the terms of a visa like you did before when you were a minor. But now (as an adult), if you have a job to return to the US for, you may be considered for a visit visa |
My point in the last query is ''Since he's managing the company owned by his junior sister and her husband, and he's getting cash and using his micro finance account, and since the micro finance are ready to give him a letter stating he has access to his money there anytime... does he need pay slip,,, because there is no how he can get pay slip.. he only have the company tax clearance, and copy of the company cert of incop. What do u think Vicjustice? Thanks
Pay-Slip is not a necessity if his bank account shows his incomes and their sources. It is not a requirement to provide Pay-slips: what is required is EVIDENCE OF INCOME of which Pay-Slip is one of the options. Bank Account details is an alternative option if it shows evidence of incomes, and a third option is manual Pay-Advise letter (a cover letter written by employer company detailing one's position and wages/salaries). Besides these, I do not have other information |
Don't mind me. Now am using dotcom_na_me_na_me ![]() I'm still waiting for your reply on my last comment. Thanks..
What exactly is your query? I read your "last comment" and don't seem to see any query |
sdavirus: Hello everyone,As an adult who will be sponsoring himself, one basic requirement that you MUST meet is employment or occupation. And unfortunately, your occupation details does not satisfy the requirement as it lacks proper documentation. I suggest that you make some valid documentation of your occupation so you may meet the requirement in future before applying for a visa. Go to your local Revenue/Tax office and take it from there |
Vicjustice, if u remember i asked you about the ticket and you said it is not a requirement and i told him, and he got exactly the same reply from the VFS that buying ticket and submit it with application is not a requirement, which means you are right, so he also confirm it again from them to be very sure. So, he mailed them again to re-confirm if Micro Finance statement is acceptable because thats where he has enough money, and they replied him that ''Yes'' Although i have helped him confirm again from a friend of mine i heard he recently used his Micro Finance too, but i decided to ask you and others here to be very sure even before he contacted the Vfs Embassy too. He is a friend to me, so i just want to render the best help i can and thats what am doing. Infact i must confess to you that i was the one ask him to contact the vfs by email directly or call them, and he did. He has called me more than 10 times this morning that he is confused about the Pay Slip and his Micro Finance, the problem is he is getting income in cash and no pay slip purposely because the company he's managing is owned by his junior sister and her husband. So he's the one paying salary in cash too to people working under him. Your full advice will be appreciated if you can go through the lists of his available documents. Thanks.
Man, you are corresponding with various identities/usernames, how can i remember who you are? Sometimes, you pose a question with the Username: Usewisdom and then you follow it up with Dotcom_na_me_na_me or others, why are you complicating it and making things difficult to correspond along with? |
mrduke: Hi, Can anyone tell me if British High Comission know when person came back to Nigeria from UK. My sister came to UK to visit me in UK in 2010. She was given 6 mths visa but stated in her application that she wished to stay 4 weeks. She came back to Nigeria after 6 mths just before her visa expired. She would like to apply again this year.I am not sure if she should write in this year application that she stayed longer than stated in her last visit or just say that she came back after 4 weeks. there is no stamp in her passport with the date of return to Nigeria. PLEASE i NEED YOUR HELP!She is entitled to stay for any length of time even if she stated during her visa application that she intended to stay for 4 weeks; that shouldn't be a problem as long as she didn't stay beyond the validity of stay. There will be a huge consequence if she tried to hide the fact that she stayed for 6 months: it's better to explain the truth on a change of circumstance than to conceal it and get banned for 10 years |
usewisdom: An email was sent to the French Embassy to confirm if Micro Finance Statement of account is acceptable as a proof of fund. A reply was received from the French Embassy that ''yes it is acceptable''I don't find it credible to accept your claim: What embassy would reply an email within a few hours? I suspect you are making this up: Though i don't know much about Micro-finance in Nigeria, but i don't think such would be acceptable because, their documents may be difficult to verify: It might interest you to hear that many such micro-finance ripped up traders in Benin City when (all of a sudden they closed down). Their services can't be relied on neither can their documents be trusted |
usewisdom: Vcjustice,For the PAYSLIP, though it is required, but it may not have mattered too much if his income is detailed in his bank statement, and unfortunately, (you have said that) his bank account has nothing to write about... except for the "Micro Finance" savings (which also does not, and can not show his incomes). Now, if a bank is not internationally (or at least nationally) recognised, such bank can not be acceptable to the Embassy: therefore, given that the account that you are talking about here is a "micro finance" or whatever, i don't see any need to answer other questions since the fundamental documentation is short of the requirement. |
ifynne: Justwise,ur doing a great job.please I had my baby in europ but I stay in lagos.I want to apply for uk tourist visa with my 9months baby nd my hubby.what docs shld I use cos am currently not working but my hubby has a good job,I also overstayed cos I have schenghei multiple 2yrs but not to overstay 3mnths in every visit but in my last trip i stayed 6mnths though my visa is still valid till now but am so scared it might spoil my chances of uk visa, lastly,do I need to put in my baby birthcertificate given to us in europe or I shld use d one I got from nigerian hospital where I registered her.Am waiting for ur reply!Things aren't looking good for you now, your visa may still have a valid date, but it may be cancelled next time you come to their attention: and you may receive a ban from entering any Schengen member state for some time. bvictor: @ justwise, and allBeing a tailor means that you are a manual skilled worker (which is not bad), but however, as a self employed individual who is applying for Tourist/Visit Visa, you need your tailoring business (or industry) to be well established to enable it represent your Employment, Obligation & Ties: your incomes or payments also need documentations otherwise, you can't apply for a visa no matter how much cash you have "to process all the necessary things" |
usewisdom: No, his friend has already invited 3 different people and got visas, that's what they told him. I would also like to ask this, if someone is ban for 10 years, would the applicant not be notified in writing in the notice of refusal? If that is the case, then perhaps it wasn't judged as fraudulent... I explained this in the original post: that visa officers are not obliged to inform applicants of their ban/no-ban status unless if asked. |
emdeesuccess: i want go srylanka for hurssle, can I get menial job to survive when I get there. how does it easy to cross to better country from there. If you can't "hustle" in Nigeria, how can you survive in Sri Lanka which is worse than Nigeria in many ways? |
usewisdom: Vcjustice and Justwise, i have a friend who has been refused a visa before in 2008, he was refused because the invitation letters he used has been used for 3 different people, and he did not even bother to appeal then in 2008. But now he would like to apply again on his new international passport with his real information as it is in his previous passport. If the visa officer judges that he used an invitation letter that had been used before by three other applicants, it therefore means that the letter is considered to be fraudulent, and for that, i'm of the opinion that he got the 10 years ban: therefore, there is no need to talk about other issues |
justi4jesu: @Dantecmu pls I want you to assist me with informations, my boyfriend is a citizen of france and he will be coming to Nigeria very soon, when he comes we are planning to apply for a visa to france so that I can go back with him. I work as an Admin officer in an IT firm since 5months till date but my salary is paid directly into my account without any pay slip or tax paid. And my employment letter has not been given to me yet, my account balance is within 150-200k. My bf will sponsor me for everything. What's my chance of getting the visa? You have no chance; at least, your chance is close to zero. Read more here: https://www.nairaland.com/967110/main-reasons-many-refused-visas |
beejaybida: VicJustice what do I do now?You may apply again and in your next application, make use of the "Additional Information" section: write a constructive analysis expressing your disgust at the decision of the previous Visa Officer. I like to recommend that you make use of these key-word phrases: *Felt disgusted at the decision *Unfair assessment of my circumstance *Unjustifiably refused the visa. Write the information in your own composition fitting the phrases/keywords in, and if the box provided is not enough to take your statement, it is acceptable to use extra sheet for additional information. And in all that you do, remember to be polite in your language, but never plead nor beg: it is discrediting to do so in visa application. Note: if you decide to use additional sheet for the letter, i recommend the use of electronic letters/typing, your hand writing may be Illegible to them, and they are too busy to want to waste their time trying to read a hand writing |
beejaybida: Good evening all. I applied for a renewal for me and fresh tourist visa for my wife and my daughter, 3weeks ago. I got a rejection today which shocked me really. The ECO wrote " you have made available for the trip 1.2m which is about 9 times your stated monthly income. This cost is disproportionate to the benefit you would obtain as a tourist and am unsatisfied that your trip is realistic in your case. Therefore on the balance of probabilities, am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry or that you intend to leave the UK at the end of the visit". Here are my concerns:This is one of the things that could happen to anyone applying for a visa: the ECO is very unreasonable to have thought that a normal person would leave his secured job with reasonable pay and travel to the UK with his entire family and become illegal residents even though you've been to the UK before and abide by the rules. |
Demaejy: Travelling is very interesting thing as i could see majority often included it as one of their hobbies. How about you kicking it off by listing your own visited countries? |
Godson311: UK Settlement visa related issue (Justwise & all in the house, your help pls.............)I don't know why a lot of Nigerians consider appeal as a means of pleading or begging for the tampering of justice with mercy: that is not what appeal is meant for, it is supposed to be an avenue to challenge a decision which you believe is a miscarriage of justice, or that your rights were violated or that you were denied a natural law which you were entitled for. APPEAL is not the same thing as APOLOGY |
joemen1: please can i apply for a schengen visa with my passport that has 3 refusals from the uk,please may i know what are the requirements are and what my chances are with that refusal stamps? The refusal stamps are definitely not something plausible on your passport, it could mean a bad influence on your application; yet, it is possible to get the visa even with that: the reasons for the refusals have great role to play in deciding your chances. Warning: If you deem it reasonable to get a new passport, remember to do it with the same data as in your current passport otherwise, you will regret it the rest of your life. |
What do you want to know about Turkey? |
fishhooks: Thank you very much Vicjustice. The reason i mention his family in NI (Belfast) is because they do say on the form to state if you have family members in the UK.When asked questions regarding family members in the UK, it is not because the Visa Office wants to help your application with any provided information, rather it is because they want to see if the information means anything negative in order to refuse your application. Therefore, if you have family member(s) in a country of which you are applying for a tourist visa, it is wise to know their circumstances and reputation; their activities may influence your own accessment and judgement: you wouldn't want the visa officer to think that you will abscond and seek asylum or that you are likely to resort to public fund under social welfare and become a liability to the state; you also wouldn't want to be connected to someone who is known to the Police for the wrong reasons |
fishhooks: Thank you VicJustice for your advice, it's most appreciated. As i said, I live in the UK so how credible would it be if he says he'll stay in a hotel. We are willing to ditch my uncle's documents if it will casue an issue. There is nothing incredible about staying in a hotel even though (you) his wife live in the country, it could just be that your house is inadequate to accommodate him: In fact, it is more reputable to state that he will stay in a lodging facility than to state that he intends to harbour in an accommodation that is deemed inappropriate. And booking-in a hotel does not mean that he is not entitled to leave and stay wherever he pleases whilst in the country: Remember that we are only trying to amend errors here so, i recommend that he books a hotel (for the sake of the presentation) in order to support his visa application since you (people) have already complicated the whole situation with messed up the stories. fishhooks: His mom and brother live in Ireland also but we dont want to complicate matters even further by using them but he will, of course, have to list them on his form. We want to avoid using the family visit form so that the documents we have to present dont contradict one another.Do you mean the Republic Of Ireland(ie Dublin) or Northern Ireland (ie Belfast)? If you meant the ROI, then, it is utterly useless to state anything about it since it is a country of its own. But if you were talking about NI (which is a part of the UK), then it would only make sense if his activity areas are mainly within that municipality; it would be unreasonable to indicate that his activities would mainly be taking place in (lets say) London while his purpose of travel is influenced by or referenced to someone living in Belfast. I just don't see how his family members living in Ireland can have any positive effect on his visa application |
fishhooks: • I live in the UK but cannot invite him because I am on a dependent visa but we don’t know where to put down as my address as we don’t want to raise any suspicion and questions –Invitation letter is not a necessity, your husband doesn't need the letter in order to visit the UK, he can book a hotel or make arrangement for other accommodation facility: he would only need invitation letter from you (or any other person) if he states that his sole purpose of travelling to the UK is to visit you (or the person) fishhooks: My uncle has sent the following documents to help the application:If he original documents are hard documents (that bear stamps, signatures, seals or security authentications) then it is absolutely impossible to get a visa with such documents photocopies, and i mean IMPOSSIBLE in its strongest definition fishhooks: Lastly, the application he made was a family one but this time he is going to apply for a general/tourist visa.If i were he, i would arrange a lodging accommodation because, the whole situation with uncle, in-law wife whatever is complicated and messed up: he can apply for tourist/visit visa then |
fishhooks: Hello AllThat would not make sense; an English man would consider you a liar if you refer to your cousin as a cousin: perhaps it will make more of a sense if he refers to him as uncle in-law. fishhooks: • The amount he said he earns did not correspond with the amount on his bank statements – We are going to show his other sources of income by presenting his statement for his shares. Is this sufficient?Does that mean that his bank statement was tampered? It is important to answer this so i know whether further answers are are of any use or not |
