Cherechy: I'm surprised people have to pay or bribe to get prepaid meter. We were at home one afternoon when PHCN people came in their van, assigned themselves to flats and started installing prepaid meter.
We all had to come out to ask what was going on, when we were told that henceforth we shud start going to their office for credit to recharge. We were told the metre charge will be substracted from each recharge till the bill is offsetted and dt was it.
Since then we've been having uninterrupted power supply except u're out of credit. Only once that we didn't have light for 3months cos some people came and did illegal connection from the transformer and the stuff blew, we agitated till a new one was brought, and it has been bliss!

Your ARea, could either be Lekki or Magodo or possibly Marwa GArdens, .... If not ? Such things ain't happening in other populated places o.

Amen o , Efemena... May God protect us and keep us away from evil people...So that's why, I can Never accept a househelp ... I miss having a sister....so, no matter what? Househelp? Count me out... The Lord will give us the wisdom to handle our homes, amen.

Gboliwe: They maybe a no-no for you maybe because you stay outside the country and mentioned the pay is huge. Most women in Nigeria, especially the newly weds cant do a thing without them. I didn't live with a househelp neither did i do househelp for any body i think that is why i am so averse to it. If my mummy could cope, why cant i?

I live in Lagos, Nigeria.... My mum use to have a househelp, when we were very young and then we were 2girls and 2boys from my mum... Do u know the househelp did something diabolical to my younger sis, by cutting one side of her face with blade, when my mum saw the blade marks on her daughter's face.. She queried the househelp but the girl denied.. After one week, my mum rushed my sister to the hospital due to high temperature, before doctor could finish examining her, she died... They did tests, nothing was found wrong with her...my mum was inconsolable, when she got home, the househelp had run away... My dad and mum reported the issue to her family..everyone was perplexed...
That's how I remained the only lady from my mum till date..

Even if it's free to have househelp... I don't need any... I can manage ... Oh, trust me... I can really manage.

House help? Nah.... No use .... I don't need to place my home,my family in the hands of a total stranger... I value what I have like Gold... Home appliances will also make it easier.. A no-no for me..

ABSOLUTLY NOTHING....except u wish to wipe out 98percent of Nigerians.....it has eaten so deep into the society, it's frightening... You virtually cannot vouch for anyone, except very few family members..too bad.

It has been the norms from way back, that men do absolutely no chores at home, but provide money, shelter and protection. Even if the wife supports him financially sometimes...the wife, still must make sure the home is tidy and neat.. It's our calling.. We can't dodge, hide or argue about it... Well, from my state, it's the wife's duty, no arguments on it.. U will be trained from the day u start helping mum in the kitchen.. Don't even argue or else's u r done for, in my dad's house, then... And that's the way I intend to bring up my daughters, when I start having them... While the sons , God help them, they must be responsible and ready to take responsibilities for their actions and decisions.. No lazy attitudes, at all..!

Op, just be patient, flow with the ride... Everything will fall in place , in due time... U can't be gay,except u already fancy guys ..... And u can't be single for life, except u don't wish to have a companion.... U r still young, very young...there is time for everything... It doesn't work here in nija. My elder sister was like that to her husband , giving him her salary every month... As the yrs go by, the husband became successful and started dating other women and eventually married another wife, same year he started making it... Everyone in our family were completely pissed. Her husband didn't listen to anyone nor his wife consistent pleas to retrace his steps... She stayed on, bearing all sorts from her husband and his other wife.... Because she wants to stay for her kids and avoid listening to family members that were like....I told u so? But u won't listen!
She eventually slumped and died due to cardiac arrest , one mid evening when taking her bath and died at the age of 45yrs.

I honestly hate that phrase... for crying out loud, when I was broke and I said av not eaten, the dumb guy will say, well the Lord is your strength.... No be God? .... Can u imagine? So annoying... I had a nephew like that... I had to send him to my late dad's house in delta state, to live in my mum's apartment.. At least he shouldn't bother about a roof on his head, but should bother abt his daily meals, after sending some upkeep money for 8months... He is on his own ....have tried... U have to put yur foot down , and tell him no more meals for him and be firm about it.. Also look for a teaching job for him... My neighbour, a married man that has 4boys, even when his wife has 3sisters, says there is a certain trick, he applies to making it happen, when we were discussing about sexes of children. I have a married friend, she has been on bed rest, from when she was 5months pregnants till she delivered, cause the doctor said, she could risk loosing the baby due to pressures from home.. What will a husband do at that situation? Go to the hospital and rpe her, cos he needs sex? .. The doctor or nurses will just walk him out, with his dick ....if he like , make bleep any available babe in town... Her health and the baby's safety first...
