Hi Sayo64,

Please, how were you able to get appointment at the embassy for your mum?

I'm trying to get an appointment for my mum to visit next summer.

Sayo64:
Thank you so much for this Forum. My Mum got her Visa yesterday. I got a lot of Info from this forum. God bless you all.

I am not against anyone doing any kind of job to survive in Europe or elsewhere. There is dignity in labour. I don't lookdown on people doing UberEATS jobs with bicycle or any kind of job. It is better to do an UberEATS jobs with bicycle and other menial jobs than taking to crime or involving oneself in illicit trades.

However, I only pointed out the lies and bogus claims of that person who claimed that he/she got the job as a banker in a financial sector in Poland after 2 months of arrival in Poland as an international student and the other one on students visa who claimed that he is working a as an investment banker at JP Morgan full-time, studying and doing UberEATS eat job delivering food house to house at the same time.

It is possible and easier to get those type of skilled or highly skilled jobs in English speaking countries like the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand but it is not that easy and most times nearly impossible to get that type of positions/jobs in non-English speaking European countries. Some Nigerians got nursing, medical doctor positions in the UK directly from Nigeria. But you can't even a direct Nursing position in Germany for instance or the position of a receptionist in a standard hotel without going through their Ausbildung system because everything is done in their language and not in English.

There are some of our guys working in big firms like Mercedes, Siemens, Daimler AG, Audi, IBM, DHL, BMW, Bosch, Amazon, Volkswagen, Volvo et al and making a good living from there earning even more than people who do white collar jobs despite the fact that they are mostly doing factory jobs in those big firms

Your case is similar to that of a Naija guy that I and my friend met at Volkschochshule who claimed that he got a job as an engineer/technician in an Automobile company in Germany because he learned Mechanic in Nigeria. When we all know that it's not possible without going through German apprenticeships system (Ausbildung). Instead of him to tell us that he got an Ausbildung placement after his B1 he claimed that he got direct employment as technician. I and my friend laughed over it because we know his type. 2days later my friend told me that we should confront the guy and point out his lies to his face. I told my friend that there was no need for that since we already know the truth. My friend insisted that we must confront him that if we did not that he would think that he has succeeded in brainwashing us and will continue to spread the lies to other people too.

I agreed we confronted and pointed it out to his face and gave him proofs that he was laying. We demand that he produced his appointment letter as proof. After much he later agreed that it was a 3year Ausbildung placement that he got at the automobile industry. An Eritrean guy later got an Ausbildung placement in the same company. It was even the Eritrean guy that told us some of the other lies the same guy told him.

How many Polish people have you seen doing UberEATS jobs delivering food to people houses to house with bicycle even in cold winter? I did not see an single white person in Poland doing that job. Most of the people doing that job are black Africans. Any white person you see doing that type job checkout that person very well you will discover that he is not Polish he maybe from Kosovo, Bosnia, Armenia those countries that Poland is better than.

There are many Italians, Greeks who are graduates in different fields in their country doing menial jobs in Germany. So make no mistake of thinking that those Polish people doing menial, semi-skilled jobs in Germany, UK and other Western European countries are not educated. Many of them are educated in their own language. Many of them acquired some degree in their country before they left. They could have remained in their native Poland collecting less than 20 Zloty minimum wage which is equivalent to 4Euros per hour doing wihite collar jobs. But they decided to move to Germany where they can earn 12 Euros or more per hour and even more in Scandinavian countries, Switzerland and the UK.

kid7soccer:
I have been very busy but I saw your comment and decided to respond. guy u no absolutely nothing about life in Poland. Just keep Clam let does making it big here talk. Do you know that english and German is a compousory course you must pass in the polish secondary school exams else you can't go to any university. I don't even speak polish yet I go to a polish church. Almost everyone here in Wroclaw speaks English.

Do you know how many Nigerian guys & ladies are working in top firms in Poland without Polish. I'm not talking about graduates. Full time students. I have received an offer for Citi group and Credit Suisse but didn't go for it because I have thing I dey pursue.

I am student in Poland. I currently model fashionable wears for top designers who work with vogue magazine, poptown, new balance etc and I act movies, I also do UberEATS while wearing a barcava so nobody knows I'm the one. yes all na hustle guy to make the money.

I just got back from a movie shoot with top American actors and actresses and a Nigerian living in Poland is even part of the main cast.

Next week I got casted for a photoshoot in Warsaw worth 8k pln a day but can't go because I have a contract for the movie I'm already casted for. Also I got an opportunity to have the picture of my hands for an advert that will pay me 500pln, just photo of my hands.

Guy I don't know the Poland you went to, maybe one village you went to study but my Poland nigerians are work hard and doing fine UberEATS courier dey make 8kpln a month full time 18k more than even white collar, UberEATS driver make more.

If you need white collar jobs in this Poland there is a way to get it. All you need is not your degree but professional skill with verifiable certificate and you will get one.

If not for school I be all set for life because I have great opportunities coming my way here.
I am thinking for taking a gab year. The hustle is real here, yes it's hard but it's real and you get paid. If you want to make it abroad be open minded, follow people that have sense an try to find your own part.

Please stop discouraging people with your comments And Better stop talking what you don't know . So many good people leave this groups because instead of asking questions on how they do it to be successful here abroad we go about attacking them. A single referral here in Poland will change your life. I am a living witness and testimony

Agreed with the first paragraph of your comments. The same way you were disappointed/shocked when you got to Cyprus and discovered that many of them cannot communicate effectively in English is the same way you would not only shocked but disappointed too when you get to Poland. I was surprised that in capital Warsaw and Gadńsk everything was in Polish including train and buses. While in some big German cities like Stuttgart, Munich... the language in their S-Bahn(speed Trian) is German and English.

There are some Americans, British, Nigerians et al guys in Germany that works in IT sectors because in some IT sectors English is what is required. So you maybe right to say that your sister works in an IT sector in Poland. Some Nigerian Engineering grauduates in Germany are given field jobs because those field jobs does not require much German but many of them have at least B1 German proficiency. But Management science graduates are not that lucky to get office jobs/white collar jobs because of language barrier.

But how can someone work in a bank in Poland with english when some of your colleagues in the bank cannot even Express themselves in English? Some doesn't understand English at all. How do you communicate with clients patronising the bank? Or are you trying to tell me that it is only English speaking clients that patronise the bank? To get a decent job in Poland you don't need English but you need Polish which is the national and working language in Poland. Same with Germany, Finland and other non-English speaking European countries.

It is not true that the Polish people doing menial jobs in other Western European countries are not educated. Many of them are educated with different degrees/qualifications. The Polish literacy rate is 96.4% while that of Nigeria is around 64.2% that is to tell you that statistically Poland have more literate indigenous population percentage wise/country average than Nigeria. Hope you are aware that the fact that someone does not understand English does not mean that the person is an illiterate? He/She can be literate or highly educated in other languages. Go to the UK there are many Nigerians, Pakistanis, Indians with masters degree, some with two masters doing care jobs. And other menial jobs because they cannot find skilled jobs in the area of their studies and also to keep body and soul together.

There are more English speakers in Germany than in Poland yet it is not possible to work in German banks without high German language proficiency. I was surprised that on two different occasions in Germany the doctors I consulted does not understand English. They had to get an interpreter. The first time was in Stuttgart the doctor was a little bit advanced lady in her early or middle 50s. While the other doctor was in the city where I was living before she was a young lady less than 30. She told me that she does not understand English, they had to call for an interpreter. If someone had told me before then that there are some German doctors who does not understand English I will tell them that it is lie. That is Germany ooo! That have more English speakers than Poland.

That firms are moving to Poland will not change the working language to English because 70- 80% of the people that would be working in those firms are Polish. What Poland is currently enjoying is what is called Comparative cost advantage in Economics. It is cheaper to produce and also build industries in Poland than in other Western European countries because of the cheap labour that is available in Poland. The current minimum wage per hour in Poland is less than 20 Zloty which is equivalent to 4Euros while the current minimum wage per hour in Germany is 12Euros, It's even more in Scandinavian countries, Switzerland and the UK. The aim of every investor/business/firms is to maximize profit and reduce cost. A German, Scandinavian, American, British investor/industrialist would rather build his company in Poland because of the cheap labour in Poland, cheap rent, minimum tax etc.

Germany have many advantages that America does not have but after studies many of our guys prefer moving to America or Canada instead remaining in Germany. The main reason why they are leaving is because It's extremely difficult or nearly impossible for you to get to the pinnacle of your career in non-English speaking European countries than in America, Canada, UK, Australia. One bros that did his masters, PhD and Post Doc in Germany moved with his family to the US. The bros have always been aspiring to become a lecturer. But he could not get that position in Germany after sending more than 200 applications to different German universities. This bros and his wife has C1 in German. The Germans did not find him good enough to lecture at their universities but America found him worthy enough to lecture there. His wife announced few weeks ago that she got the position of a business manager in the US. A position that is nearly impossible for her to get in Germany and other non-English speaking European countries.

When it comes to teaching of English language to non-English speaking Europeans. These Europeans would prefer an American/British/Canadian with less qualifications to teach them English than our Nigerian guys with higher qualifications because of our Nigerian/African accents. Funny enough many Germans will tell you that "Dein Englisch ist Schlecht" meaning that your English is bad just because you are not speaking with British/American accent but these are Germans that does not understand simple idiomatic expressions that primary school pupils in Nigeria play around with.

teewest100:
I have been on this group for sometime, but I just decided to see what everyone is saying carefully before engaging in any discussion…

Firstly, when travelling aboard to any countries I. The world, don’t believe whatever you see online, Google precisely, there are lot of misleading information on internet… first time I will travelled out of Nigerian as an international student was to Cyprus, when I do my search it says most of it citizens speaks English, it was shocking when I got there non of the could communicate in English. Which was a fucking disappointment, this how some of us also has been mislead.

Secondly, poland is a growing country, not yet competitive like other western developing countries, like US, UK, CANADA, GERMANY, etc.. there is lot of opportunities you may haven’t heard about. Do you know during the pandemic, poland is the only European Union country that was able to manage it economy without going to recession? I’m not painting poland positivity. Yes it’s true lot of polish citizens are living the country, but mind you, they are not japaing just like we Nigerians, let me explain.. Most of this polish people you see running out of the country to other countries are doing so because they are not educated, so it’s difficult for them to secure a well paying decent job in their countries, so it better they leave to Germany were they get paid much more without degree, just like it’s in our own country Nigeria, despite the bad conditions of Nigeria today, there are still individuals making millions every single month in salaries, while so are not, so life isn’t balance in any countries… even the Americans are leaving there county to leave in another country because they find life much more better there than America, while non Americans are dreaming of travelling there someday, so this life isn’t balance.

Thirdly, it’s very possible to have decent job in poland without much knowledge of the polish language, reason is because, in recents years, there has been larger numbers of foreigners relocating to poland from non European countries coming into the country to settle down either to work or invest, you will be surprised the high raising of Americans, Canadian, British an others citizens living now in poland. An for this people to be able to make use of the polish environment perfect the government needs to start giving ways to English speaking personal to work in there companies to open ways for those willing to invest, also most of this polish young generation are fast learning English this days, because of the benefits it now having in the polish economy. I have a sister working in there IT sector, she has a YouTube channel an you can search her (Awhobiwom Abu) that here channel name, she only start learning the polish language an she has been working in there IT sector for almost two an half here now with any problems…

It’s very important to have a positive energy an thinking when relocating to any country, it won’t be easy before once you’re have the positive thinking an you associate yourself with different people, my dear things will work out…

Because someone is been living in a particular country with success doesn’t mean other won’t, it doesn’t how long you have been living there, life is about knowing the right people…

Also if you’re a student in poland, it’s possible to have a decent work, there is factory jobs, delivery, Uber, English teaching jobs, an you get paid working part time…

Whatever country you’re planning to relocate to, don’t have a negative feeling or energy toward it, because it will be hard to succeed… no country is easy, just as we Nigerians are running away believing our country is bad, there is also some foreigners in Nigeria making it while we the citizens are running, that how life is in every country.

Have a lovely weekend

You and that your friends @kid7soccer will never cease to amaze me. Just hear yourself. You work as an accountant, full-time at JP Morgan in Poland while studying. And you also do UberEATS delivering food to people house to house with bicycle. And your small mind or lack of exposure told you that Poland is better then Germany/US/UK. Those who believe and digest those craps you guys are claiming are doing so at their own peril.

If telling people the truth is your own definition of negativity. And brainwashing people with ridiculous/bogus claims and lies is your own definition of positivity or encouragement Keep it up. All I can say is that those who believe all those lie, lie bogus claims of yours are doing that at their own peril.

Texunapologist:
It’s pretty clear you have no clue on how economics works, in terms of opportunities as a student, Poland is more better than USA/Germany/UK like I said earlier, Poland is an emerging country and it’s possible to fit into the system if you have the skills required, I work full time as a fund accountant with JP Morgan, Now tell me how many student in the United state or Germany can work with a bank while studying ? I’m currently on individual study’s which allows me to work full time while studying, if you live in Poland you will know what I mean by (Individual Studies) and what @Kidsoccer told you was correct.. he works with a modeling company and because he works with modeling company that doesn’t mean he should not do delivery, I do delivery as well but mostly weekend so what you saying ? because I work with a bank I shouldn’t do delivery ? Jokes on You !

Thanks jare. Don't mind them, let them keep on deceiving people. "A snake seen by one person becomes a python"(African proverb). I believe that guy has never left Wroclaw Poland to any other place. Na Polish people get care jobs for this country. Care jobs that involves taking care of old people, cleaning their poo, urine, vomit et al. If things are rosy in their native Poland they won't be doing that type of jobs here. I know one who works as a kitchen assistant she has a bachelor from Poland.

Escanor:
You claim you work with big actors and actress and see more than 8k zloty.yet still go around to deliver food with uberEAT to people from house to house..its people like you who deceive people and abandon them after entering a country they didn't plan for.here nobody is discouraging anyone from coming to poland we are just kind to let everyone know how the life really is in poland so that they should be ready for it.but you paint things with lie..and claim what you are not here.i bet you are not even up to five years in poland. i was in UK , Germany for black jobs I saw lots of polish people doing factory jobs and claim they are living large in thier home country in poland..if the citizens of this country could go this far to search for greener pastures and more money due to thier weak currency..talk less of you who is just a foreigner.will you settle for less when u have access to 26 schengen states.? A country where full time student must work full time from Monday to Friday is still a developing country.how can they work from Monday to Friday and study from Monday to Friday to be able to afford bills.it does not make sense..Go to advance country like finland and Germany student have mostly weekends to work.thats approximately 8days in a month and they will pay all thier bills and have money left for upkeep..yes people are doing well here.but don't compare them to people in other developed country...

I have explored the length and breadth of Western Europe and still exploring because travelling is one of my hobby. It took me 5years in Germany to see the first black Policeman and it took me 6years to see the first black doctor. The guy was speaking flawless German. I guess it's either he was born in Germany or grew up there. I have been to many German banks and currently bank with one. I have never seen Afro-German bankers not to talk of an African/Nigerian banker who did his bachelors in Nigeria migrated to Germany to do his masters/PhD.

The only places where I visited and found Nigerians and other blacks working in an enviable position was in the UK. Many Nigerians are in top positions there and also non European countries like the US and Canada. The other places are France, Belgium and the Netherlands because they have traditional black population.
Travel › Re: Polish Student Visa by victz:
Oga, I'm not trying to discourage you or anyone in anyway. I am just stating the obvious about Poland. The fact is that many of our Naija guys abroad are too economical with the truth. They paint things about the country they are to make it look like they are in heaven. It's only when you get there that you will begin to know the truth. Or if you have family members that are opening up to you.

The question I kept on asking that I haven't gotten any answer is those that told you that are working in Investment banking and financial sectors in Poland are they working with Polish languages or English? If you tell me that they are working with Polish I can believe even though it's very rare/difficult because Polish is the working language in Poland and it's not easy to learn and master the language overnight. If you are not born there or grew up there you can't master the language perfectly. You will be able to write/speak to some extent. You will often get stocked at some point when writing/speaking not only Polish but also German, Finnish, Swedish, Danish, Norwegian et al.

I spent some time in Warsaw and Gadńsk. I did not get to see too many black people in Warsaw which is not only their administrative capital but also their commercial capital. The place I came across many blacks was in Gandsk which is one of their top tourist destination. I have never been to Wroclaw but I don't think Wroclaw have more English speakers than capital Warsaw and tourist city of Gandsk. I didn't study in Poland. But I have been long enough in Europe to know what is obtainable. Many of this guys claiming big boys that are doing white collar jobs in Poland have not even spent up to 3years in Poland. Some guys in Germany are working at Mercedes, Daimler AG, Bosch they are earing big but many of them will not tell you that it's factory job that they're doing. Though some of them are working with their degree.

As for that guy that said that he got an 8k Zloty modelling job per day. Good for you congratulations!. If Polish people are making up to 8k Zloty per day/month many of them would not leave their country to do both skilled and unskilled/menial jobs in other Western European countries where they earn less than 8k Zloty which is approximately 1800Euros per month.

Most Nigerians who came to study in Poland are actually using Poland as japa route to other countries. If Poland is the way you painted it our guys would remain there. They would not be eager to move to other countries. Who knows if that was what the Polish authorities discovered that made them to make it difficult for Naija students to secure a visa interview appointment slots at their Abuja embassy?

Poland is better than Naija and some other Eastern European countries no doubt about that but if the place is utopia like the other modelling guy and Financial sector worker painted it. Nigerian students would not be eager to leave. Our Naija guys love hustling, they are eager to make it. They won't be planning to leave if things are rossy in Poland.

Come to think of it many Polish people are leaving their country in droves to other Western European countries. I have not seen Scandinavians, Germans, French, Spanish, Swiss, Finnish people leaving their country the way the Polish people are doing. If they are earning well in Poland they won't be leaving.

That was how one guy was arguing with us when he arrived Germany newly. After spending almost 3years in Germany and discovered that he cannot cope with the language and the system. He went for an exchange program in the US. He never came back to Germany he remained in the US. But that was the same guy that initially said that he will never leave Germany to any other country that Germany is the best country in the world.

Texunapologist:
Bia, You have someone who live in Poland or prolly you have lived in Poland for years or couple of months and things didn’t work out for you doesn’t mean things won’t work out for others, I have friends who are currently investment bankers and project managers in big firms/banks (Nigerians precisely) Poland is an emerging country unlike the UK/USA/Germany where getting into the financial sector or getting a professional job is very competitive.. anything is possible here in Poland, we can see it hence is the reason we are working very hard for it. Don’t come on nairaland to throw tantrums and argue about things you know nothing about

There are more English speakers in countries like Denmark, Germany, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Switzerland, Netherlands as compared to Poland but that does not change both the national and working languages of these countries. I have met a lot of young people from Poland some were my roommate when I was doing my MSc. Not very many of them can express themselves in English apart from the ones living in Britain and the ones that studied in English.

The ones I met in Poland that can speak English are the ones that were taught in English but not very many of them. I can tell you that more Polish people understands German than English that is because there are more than 4milion of Polish people living and working in Germany. And also some Polish cities have native German speakers. Though the Poles speak more of Russian than both English and German. So apart from Polish which is their working and national language the other language that came second is Russian. Then German before English.

For that person who claimed to be working in a financial sector in just her/his 2 months arrival to Poland. That she/he does not wish to live in any other country because what she can get elsewhere she can also get it in Poland. It's kind of funny because the Polish people themselves are moving out in droves to other countries in search of greener pastures. Poland is a beautiful country no doubt about that but if you are working in Poland you will be earning very low as compared to people living and working in other EU countries that uses Euro currency. Poland uses the Zloty. 100Euros for instance is more than 400 Polish Zloty.

Mcleo007:
On the language side, a vast majority of Poles speak English especially their younger generation.

Amanee:
I beg to disagree bro.

While it's good to plan to pay your one year tuition fee and cost of living (which is what is expected from you in the first place) there is also the chance of getting good jobs in Poland while studying. From my own experience, I am studying tuition free and I arrived Poland with almost 18 months experience in the financial sector. Within two months of my arrival, I got a job with a good company in the same financial sector and it's going to be very hard for me to leave here after my studies because I don't see what I can get in other countries that I'm not getting in Poland. I have friends who are students as well working in IT, banking, education etc in some kind of companies that you can only fantasize about getting a job in, in countries like the UK. My story is different from yours because I had a plan and I did my research well. No country is heaven, if you do not have a plan, you will go there and suffer as well.
Are you working in the so called Financial sector in Poland with English language or Polish? Escanor has just stated the facts. What Escanor said was the truth and nothing but the truth. Stop cooking up stories. You ain't working in any Financial sector in Poland and your own case is not different from others. Polish is the working language in Poland not English. Many Polish people can't even speak English. I spent some time in Poland. Polish language is even more difficult than German.

Your 18months job experience in the financial sector in Nigeria gave you a job in the financial sector in Poland within 2 months of your arrival as a cleaner or what? Make una fear God ooo! Take it easy with this type of lies. Some people has even graduated in Germany, Finland, Sweden and also in Poland since the past 5years and had learned the languages to C1 level yet have not being able to secure a white collar job in financial sector with their masters and PhDs na you wey just arrive Poland 2 months ago come pland better than them abi?

Once again, Nigerians working at the Polish embassy are selling dates. I am not going to help you overcome your ignorance.

This guy it's like you love arguments so much. Why are you twisting/changing the narrative? You accused me of struggling to get a Polish study visa that was the reason why I talked about my vacation. I never said anything about my vacations until you started your complimentary accusations.

Why not take your time to examine my comments critically before rushing to reply? Education is free in Germany, Education is not free in Poland for international students. Germany might decide to reduce the number of Nigerian students coming to their country for studies and those other affected countries it is their choice. Poland charges tuition, application and enrollment free. You are entitled to Polish study visa provided you meet the requirements.

The population of Nigerian students in Germany, Poland and other EU countries is not even up to one twentieth compared to the population of Turkish people living in Germany and the EU. There are more Iraqis, Afghans, Syrians living in Germany, Poland and other EU countries compared Nigerians.

People from those countries mentioned aboved pose more threat to their citizens and country than Nigerians. Yet they are still accepting them in their thousands. The highest Nigerians can do is fraudulent activities, drugs and other illicit trade. But people from those other counties are capable of doing all those stuff and also capable importing terrorism into the EU. They have done it severaly and they are still doing it. Yet European government are they're still allowing them in in their thousands every year. They even prefer Arabs to black African student.

Indians have issues with appointment booking for German study Visa not Polish study Visa. Please, note the difference.

For instance a German political party named Die Grüne is currently slugging it out with the German parliament concerning the reports they got that Germany embassy in some countries are making it difficult for students from those affected countries to get visa appointment dates. That is how things works.

Our duty is to report fraudulent activities not any proof. It is left for the Polish authorities to carry out investigations. If you report this issue to the Polish authorities without proofs. They won't debunk your claims just like that. They will carry out independent investigations into the issue. People reported the fraudulent activities that was going on concerning British visa appointment slots/date at the British high commission in Nigeria. What the British government did was to carry out investigation. After conducting the investigation they found out that those allegations was true. They changed the system. British study visa is the easiest to get from Nigeria as at today provide you have the funds.

Refix:
The same way Germany can't accommodate everyone is the same way Poland can't too.

FYI, the Indians also have issues with appointment booking. This should ring a bell that population plays a huge role irrespective of if tuition was paid or not.

Tuition payment does not guarantee appointment same way visa does not guarantee admission into the supposed country.

I never said corruption is a Nigerian thing. Did I?
Stick to context. We are talking about appointment booking here, not your Polish vacation.
If you have any evidence the Polish Embassy is involved in the appointment fraud, prove it. It is as simple as ABC. No need for long epistles.
Travel › Re: Polish Student Visa by victz:
I was in Warsaw and Gadńsk between the ending of June and early July for summer holidays. I am not applying to study in Poland. I did my MSc in Germany some years back. So don't think that everyone on this platform is struggling to go to Poland for studies like you. I have visited many countries which includes Germany where I reside, Switzerland, France, Austria, Great Britain, Netherlands, Denmark, Italy, Luxembourg and Lichtenstein. I can visit any country of my choice without restrictions whenever I want to.

That so many people are applying from Nigeria does not mean that they cannot make it easier for applicants to get visa appointment dates. Up until middle of 2019. Once you gain admission to any German university all you need to do is to send an email to the German embassy requesting for visa appointment dates with your admission letter attached. The embassy will respond to your request and give you an appointment date within 24hrs.

Germany adapted strict measures by introducing Category A and B in 2019 thereby making it difficult to get an appointment date. The reason why I don't blame them is because it could be that they have already gotten the number of Nigerians they want in their country. Thereby making it difficult for others to come over for studies. Secondly education is free in Germany. Benefiting from the free education scheme is not a right it's a privilege. Countries that this problem is affecting are Nigeria, Cameroon, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Iran.

That was similar to what happened when America banned Nigeria from participating in their diversity visa Lottery few years ago. The reason they gave was that they have gotten the number of Nigerians they needed through that scheme.

When it comes to deal with Polish people. I booked an apartment in Gdansk during my recent vacation there. Daily rate of the apartment was 145Euros per night via booking.com. They did not mentioned anything about deposit. I got to Gandsk the guy who was to give me the keys to the apartment insisted that I must pay 450zloty which was equivalent to 100Euros before the keys to the appointment I paid for will be handed over to me. I don't want to argue much because it was raining and cold. I don't want to continue standing there with my luggages and argue. I asked him when do I get my money back? He said that he will give it back to me when I'm checking out. Up till today the guy refused to return my money, the money he collected as deposit. I have reported the case to booking.com. I have submitted proofs of payment receipts. If booking.com failed to get me back my money from them I will have no other option than to inform the Polish police. That is to tell you that Fraud is not a Nigerian. Fraud is everywhere.

I insist it is your right to apply for Polish student Visa once you've paid your application, enrolment and tuition fee. It's only people who does not know their rights that think that the Polish embassy is doing them a favour. Why did you think that the Polish embassy is giving you the right to appeal after denial? It is because they know that it's your right. A guy was denied after he appealed. They gave him one more chance to appeal in Poland if he feels that his visa denials was unjust. Why do you think that they were doing that? It's because they know vividly that it's his right.

Lastly, Some Nigerians are scamming fellow Nigerians yes. We Nigerians are good at that. But do not rule out the fact that there might be collaboration with some embassy staffs. It happened at the British high commission. When the issue was raised the British authorities did not debunk the claims. They carried out an investigation and discovered that it was true before they decided to change the system. If you report the Polish embassy today to the Polish authorities, they won't debunk your claims. They might ask you for evidence. Even if you did not provide it. They might conduct and independent investigation on their own to find out the truth. Knowing your rights is not a curse bro. Have a nice evening.

Refix:
I believe you know the Population of Nigeria, coupled with the fact that several West African nations also use this embassy.
How many people do you think they can attend to in a week?

Poland is not doing you a favour but Germany is, right? Fine. Why don't you ply the German route? Is it easy now? Is it fast now? I believe you know the answers.

If Poland is not doing you a favour, why are you struggling to go to Poland? Why not some other European or African country? Better still study in Nigeria.

Have you ever done any deal with someone who works at the Polish embassy or even a Polish national in regards to visa appointment? Or your facts and proofs are based on what a random agent tells you.

It is one thing to point fingers. It is another to back it up. If you say the embassy is involved prove it and I will change my stance.

Once again, Nigerians are the once scamming fellow Nigerians who are desperate to get an appointment date.

Those of you who are saying that it's not our birth right to be given polish Visa should understand that we have the right to apply for visa of any country that have bilateral relationship with Nigeria. Just like citizens of that country have the right to also apply for Nigerian visa.

If the Polish embassy/govenment does not want Nigerians to visit their country let them call off the bilateral relationship Nigeria have with Poland.

They are not doing international students any favour by issuing them visa for study purposes. The last time I checked Nigerian students are not studying in Poland for free. We are contributing to the Polish economy by paying our hard earned money into their system. They should inform their universities to stop giving Nigerians admission if they don't want Nigerian students in their country anymore.

I don't understand the reason why prospective applicants/students who want to study in their country will pay application, enrollment and tuition fee only for the embassy to be acting as if they're doing those students who are applying for study visa a favour.

I repeat the Polish embassy is not doing anyone any favour. If it's German embassy we can conclude that they are doing us favour because education is 100% free in Germany apart from the state Baden Wüttemberg which started changing €1,500 tuition since 2017.

Those of you who are trying to defend the Polish embassy in Nigeria that there is no corruption perpetuated by Polish embassy staffs should have a rethink. There is corruption everywhere. Corruption is not just a Nigerian thing. It's just that Nigeria's level of corruption is higher.

Selling of visa appointment dates is not new in Nigeria. What is going on at the Polish embassy right now was what was going on at the British High Commission in Lagos sometime in 2003/2004. The British High Commission gave a particular number to call for those who wanted to book for visa appointment. You can call that number from today till tomorrow it will be ringing but no one will take the call. There are some people outside the embassy who were collecting btw 30-40k for appointments. Those people were working hand in hand with the embassy staffs. Nigerians started complaining until the system was changed. I don't know about the current system but I believe that it will not be as bad as it was back then.

Lastly, those of you asking for proof why don't you carry out investigations on your own and find out if it's true or not? Whenever a case like this is reported, it is left for the authorities to examine it critically and carry out investigations to ascertain the veracity of the allegations.

How about booking a hotel or an apartment since the dormitory is not yet open? Are hotels and apartments bookings not acceptable when the dormitory is not yet ready?

athenswonders:
That there is one of the major reasons people get denied. They tell the embassy that their XYZ school dorm opens 20th of September for instance but their departure date is 18th.... for God sake, where will you stay then before that 20th the dorm opens?

This usually flags up with number 8.... and then you Wonder.... but my school provided dorms nah? Bro your timing is wrong

Exactly but a bad policy.

1. It's recognizing the black market and legit helping to channel forex there.

2. The black market would get saturated at a point in time because no business man or woman would go there to source forex for business and the black marketers would not sell to the banks at the CBN rate

3. Naira in circulation would be mopped up at a point in time resulting in the dollarization of the economy (no one would want tk be paid in naira)

4. At the end of the day, beneficiaries would have no option but to exchange with the banks or hoard in their domiciliary accounts.
I hope Nigeria doesn't go the way of Zimbabwe

Well, public universities in Germany are not crowded. We are less than 20 students in our MSc class. Most times you'll find a lot of empty sits laying fallow with no one siting on them Even when we are having combine courses with other departments you will still get a space to sit down. Most courses here have limited number of participant meaning that you have to register in time if not you may not be able to get a space. I believe the reason why they adapted the measure of course registration with a certain number of participants/students is for crowd control. I remember back then in Nigeria the university i attended was always crowded that most times they use public address systems. Some students don't even see the board when lecturers are teaching courses that involved calculations/mathematics. It is not like that in Deutschland. Germany is well advance/organised.

Jigba:
That last sentence though, I agree. At least I've heard of it as the reason why most people attend private universities. Another reason is that, it's not crowded like public university. Also, it's hard to fail in a private university.

But I think there are advantages/benefits like he stated which I would like him to share with us.
Travel › Re: General German Student Visa Enquiries Part 4 by victz: 4:40pm On Feb 13, 2018
What makes you think that private universities are better than public universities in Germany? Germany is not Nigeria. I spent two years studying at one of the most prestigious public universities in Germany which is highly rated and more recognised than the best private university in the entire Europe.
How many German/Europeans are attending private universities in Germany? Most people who attend private university here are people who came out with low grade that find it difficult to secure admission in public universities.

SenR:
It all depends on your motives my brother, I suspect the school that gave you admission in berlin is probably a private institution.

What you should understand is that there's a whole lot of difference between a German Public Schools and Private Schools.

Although a private skool is more expensive, but in the long run the benefits you get from attending a private skool is far better than that of a public skool.

In my own case I got admitted into a private skool here in Berlin for a masters degree, and the skool fee for the 3 semester programme cost approx 18,000 euros.

I also have a blocked account here in Germany.

My course is a very unique one and not all public universities in Germany offer it and if they do, it can't be compared to that of a private university.

A better scenario is like comparing Uni Ibadan and Atiku Abubarka University (ABTI).

There are somethings I forgot to add to my initial write-ups about my few months experience in Germany. Though some people might argue that 6 months is not enough to deliberate on certain issues but 6 months is enough for someone to know his left from right in a foreign land. It's about Nigerian refugees/Aduro/Asylum seekers or whatever name you choose to call them. Do not make a mistake of looking down on those guys or take them for granted. Some of them also acquired their first degree in Nigeria just like you and I before embarking on the journey to Europe in search for greener pastures. It is not all of them that are illiterates. Some of them are responsible while some are not.You need no soothsayer to tell you the responsible ones among them. When you see them you'll know. It will be absolutely unjust to condemn others because of the sins of a few. Everyone knows that Nigerians are capable of going to any length to travel to Europe in search of greener pastures. Some of this guys passed through deserts, other through the Mediterranean Sea to get to Europe. If you hear their stories you will pity them. Most of them have lived in Europe for many years. They know the in and out of Europe more than you and I. Some responsible ones among them can even give you an advice that will go a long way in helping you to survive here. If you feel you are contented and wouldn't want to have anything to do with them please stay away from them. It's pays to stay humble.

I wish all prospective visa applicants and those who are still expecting admission from the schools they applied to success. It will all end in praise.
Travel › Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 3 by victz:
I think it's time for me to share my 6 months experience in Germany(Tübingen) to be precise. Please, note that I am only sharing what I have experienced so far in Tübingen. Students in other cities especially the bigger cities may not have similar experience. Let me use the same format lmuhopeful used:

1. Education: Studies here has been really nice and very tough. I'm currently studying MSc in Management and Economics. There are only one University in Tübingen which is the famous/prestigious University of Tübingen. The University spread across the length and breath of the entire city. There is no where you will go in Tübingen that you will not feel the presence of the University. Our professors here are very brilliant and smart. Educational system in Germany is highly intensive. If you are going for any Economics or Finance related courses you have to be very good in calculations. In fact very good is just an understatement you have to be extremely good in Maths. Be prepared to see some Mathematical symbols you have never came across in your entire life. And also try as much as possible to learn/improve on your computer skills. Be also prepared for presentations. I have 3 individual presentations to carry out this semester. I did two last semester they were fantastic. I never knew that I will be able to get it right because I was not used in making public speech. Exams are really tough here and grading system here is different from what we have in Nigeria. Professors don't award marks easily you have to work very hard to earn your grades. The marking scheme here is absolutely strict. To score a 1.0 here you need 95% and above. In general anything from 2.5 and below is considered good especially if an institute is doing high quality research like lmuhopeful rightly said.

2. Housing/Accommodation: Living in student dormitory is cheap you can get an accommodation shared/flat for 208, 217 Euros etc in old buildings. There are a lot of ancient buildings here dated back to the time of Johann Wolfgang Goethe and Martin Luther the reformer. If you want to live in the same building Goethe lived when he was writing his poetry it is possible grin grin grin and also from 245Euros for accommodation in skyscrapers. Private accommodation are a little bit expensive but not as in big cities.

3.Transportation: Tübingen semester ticket is not encouraging at all. Stuttgart is just 30km which is less than one hour drive by bus or train yet our semester ticket does not even cover Esslingen let alone Stuttgart. In fact Barden Wuttemberg semester tickets are like that. You can only enjoy semester ticket in this state if you are studying in a big city like Stuttgart and semi-big cities like Mannhiem, Kalshure, Freiburg etc. If you want to get a VVS semester ticket that covers Stuttgart you will be spending close to 400Euros which is not worth it.

Student Jobs: If you are coming to Tübingen with the hope of getting a student job you better have a rethink. There are no companies here. Tübingen can be best described as a rural area. Getting a job in few restaurants around is extremely difficult. Tübingen is a university village where 2 out of every 3 people you see on the streets are students. Tübingen is such a boring town. Loneliness want kill me here ooo!. You can hardly find Nigerians here except for few Nigerian refugees. There are very few Nigerians here. There are also not too many blacks in this school. From time to time you can only come across 1 or 2 Nigerians studying here. But if you are coming to Tübingen with the sole aim of studying, I can assure you that you will get the very best of education here because Tübingen is a world-class university. Some of the best professors in Europe are here. An ex-president of Germany (Horst Köhler) is also here as one of my professors.

People:
What I have seen here is not encouraging. Tübingen is not a friendly town. People here are not friendly I don't know if it's because Tübingen is relatively a small town. I have been to Stuttgart and Frankfurt people are more friendly there than in Tübingen. Sometimes they will be looking at you as if you are an Alien from another planet. A friend of mine who is in Engineering faculty often complained of racism in his faculty. No one wants to sit with him in the class. No one wants him in their assignment group. I was lucky to have few German friends in my department that are liberal minded. They are more than nice to me. I happened to be the only black in my faculty but was lucky to have those great German guys as friends.

Food: Since I came here I have never bought cooked food outside. I have always prepared my own food at home by myself. It helps you to minimize cost if you can be able to be cooking/preparing your own meal. Their own foods self no dey hungry me. This people wey dey chop bread like say tomorrow no dey. They have different verities of Bread. More than 50 or more different kind of breads. There are African shops here where you can get food items like Yams, Plantain, Beans, Fish, Meat, Egwusi, Ogbono, Okra, palm oil etc, but they are not cheap oooo!

Babes: Hmmmmn! Like I said before this is not a friendly town. This people discriminate a lot. They even discriminate against other whites let alone blacks. But it may be a different experience in bigger/International German cities. So if na babe you want come here come find be ready to work extra hard for it. And also be prepared to face so many rejections you maybe lucky at last sha! As some people were lucky to find one in the long-run. If you are a lady, I don't really know because I haven't seen whites guys going out with the few black girls that are here.

African People: There are few Africans here are they are really nice. Some people will tell you not to get close to Nigerian refugees that are here. Well experience differs, Almost all the Nigerian refugees I met here are very nice people they see me as their brother and have always been willing to help they don't even discriminate on basis of tribe. They have been really helpful even more than the 2-3 Nigerians studying here. I know of a Nigerian student that did not drop his tribalism behind in Nigeria. He brought his tribalism here with him. Aduro is the popular name given to those refugees. But this Aduro people are very very nice to me I don't know about other Nigerian students experience ooo!.

German language: The language is as important as the degree you are coming here to acquire. You need the language to be able to interact effectively with people here even if it's broken/basic German. I will also advise anyone coming to Germany to get at least a B1 language proficiency before boarding that plan. Life can be extremely difficult here without the language.

You really did not understand what he is talking about until you get here. He is not saying that it applies to everyone. He is taking about what majority Nigerians living here are going through. May your journey to Deutschland be smooth so that you can come and witness these things yourself.

lol at the waking @ 4:00am to go to work in Germany when people already do that in Lagos daily without a single complain. What was the op expecting? Germany to roll out the red carpet for him when he arrived. It is tough everywhere and there are Nigerians doing well financially just as some are equally struggling in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany etc including Nigeria. I do agree with the op on the need to manage expectations but I think tips on getting and balancing work, school as well as achieving good grades would have been much more appreciated to further help applicants make informed decisions.

There is no need wasting money and time going to Abuja to get a new passport. It happened to me during my own time too but affidavit covered it. The visa officer did not even ask me anything related to that. The Alien office didn't have any problem with that as well. Let her go for affidavit and she will be fine.

Serious matter...It might be red flag...if it's a slight error, U could've gone to the high court to do an affidavit but different date entirely... Not just the year but day as well. It looks suspicious like a different person entirely...You've plenty of time maybe U need to go Abuja to process a new passport...depending on the correct date of birth... Just a suggestion
