Are u saying that he got to the embassy too early? On the day of my interview i got to the embassy at exactly 5:00am on the dort and 5 people were already on the queue. I had to join the queue as the 6th person. I was even wondering if the 5 people I met at the embassy at 5:00am when I got there slept right there at the embassy.

In case you don't know. Nija certificates now have security features especially your WAEC and BSc. So, there is nothing funny to laugh about.
pompido:
I also submitted a number of my certificates laminated and didn't have any issues with it. I also know a number of folks that had a mixture of laminated and paper certificates.

I am a bit shocked at the statement of certificates not being laminated. Yes, some issuers state the non-lamination of their documents but a healthy number also advise pro lamination.

I actually laughed at the security feature statement.. cheesy

Security features on our certificates in Nigeria!

May it happen soon. Amen

Union Bank never asked me for that. Union bank did not asked for breakdown/Estimated expenses. They just carried out the transaction and I got my credit alert from Deutsch bank in 3 days.
emydon01:
Thanks cahnellven. But the bank still insist I provide a supporting document from the school showing the estimated expenses(€8040). I intend to call the school now for help, or is there another way?

I've called the school, the lady dat picked said its a matter for the embassy not school.

Does anyone here have the invoice from the consulate showing the cost breakdown?

Eke bro, You are on point. To me the reason why those who benefited from this thread refused to come back to help others who are in need of informations is because many of them felt that they have passed that sage. They felt that it's time for them to move on and that is not the best. Like you said spending 10 minutes on this thread monthly isn't going to cause them no harm but they chose to move on. Well, that is life sha! That is the average Nigerian mentality me inclusive. My cousin who is based in London told me that the reason why It looked as if Chinese and Indians living over there in the UK are succeeding more than African's especially Nigerians is because they co-operate. They do everything humanly possible to help each other. But Nigerians residing over their will be forming levels. Those with papers will be looking down on those without. That is Nigerian mentality for you.
Eke40seven:
LOL!
The Futurewise, Futurewiser, futurewisest and futurewisening situation no want end...make me self upgrade to Eke50seven.

This is what I think though, Futurewise is now futurewiser11 using the knowledge he gets here to make money and who can blame him? However, he has made his own impact on the thread too but where I fault him is that he didn't come out plain, legit and open about it and the cover up was really poor. Childishly poor! A little honesty could have saved him a lot.

Sometimes when you think of it, you wonder if we Nigerians actually deserve free services because of the attitude of many. We are always take take take take but find it hard to give back. Look back at the number of people who benefited from the thread all these years, how many ever came back to share their experience or render help back to those who need it now they have gone through the process? less than 1%. My own "summer friends" wey go chat you up in midnight, how many have given feedback on life there when they crossed over? less than 1%.
If 10% of the resources we have had here gave back here and spend even 10 mins in a month, we would have had a full info on ALL the states in Germany but unfortunately we just go and never look back!

That's why I respect guys like cindino20, Nevilbot and DaimlerBenz.

See hadassaeke don dey hustle for info and preparation now because she knows 99% of the winter people presently will NOT give a two pence about this thread when they leave.

So, if you don't have an attitude of "let's do it for God and for charity sake" its really hard not to do what futurewise abi na wiser did.
Now its now clearer why at one time why many people PMed me from behind to quit the thread!

@pauluche, sir the PM got me a failure notice when I tried replying.

Germany is the most developed country in Europe and presently the economic power house of Europe. Very soon Germany will overtake USA, Canada, UK and Australia as the most popular destination for international students. But when it comes to renewable development America is still on the lead. American craftsmanship remains the best in the world.
pompey4:
With the way this trend is going, I see Germany taking over from UK, Canada and USA as the top most destination for international scholars in few years time. Assuming i knew about what Germany was offering earlier, by now i would have started my MSc, I was always focusing on UK alone which is even too expensive. Germany is the largest and the most important economy in the euro zone even better than UK, so also in terms of renewable development Germany leads the race and even USA is behind Germany.

Munich is the most expensive city in Germany. The money you are making in Munich will be spent in Munich if care is not taking. To me Berlin is far better for students. Comparing the cost of living, accommodation etc Berlin is better than Munich. Accommodation in Munich is much compared to any other city in Germany. And the language Bavarian kind of German is the most difficult, the way they speak their German is difficult to comprehend compared to Berlin where they speak central German or Lower Saxony where they speak standard German. The only edge Munich have over Berlin is the landscape And Bundesliga if you are a football lover, Alliance Arena will always be close. In terms of Business, availability of Companies/Hustling Berlin, Hamburg, Frankfurt etc might even be at per with Munich.

Do not forgot to put into consideration that Humboldt University and Free University of Berlin are at per with your TUM and LMU. They are also among the 11 universities of excellence initiative along side with my Uni of Tubingen...lol.

TUM=HUB
LMU=FUB
Munich=Berlin (hustle)

Union Bank charges/rate may be a bit higher compared to Fedelity and Starling bank. But Union bank will not ask you all that. They will not put you through all that stress. The only documents required by Union banks are your Admission Letter, BSc Certificate, NYSC Discharge Certificate and a Hand Written Letter authorising them to go ahead with the transaction. Just visit Union Bank Headquarters Stallion Plaza in Marina their services is quick and effective. They carried out my own transaction and I received credit confirmation from Deutsche Bank in 3days.

Please, which of the following means of transportation Is advisable to use; A bus, train or another flight from Munich to Stuttgart?

No b small wahala she been wan turn d thing to ooooo. He's lucky he had a witness that could say that she wasn't touched. That's a person across the streets who could see from his apartment a few things that happened. Let everyone have only good testimonies of their stay, no let person spoil ur blues with reggae. Union Bank charged me NGN228.50K per Euro as at last week
scofield03:
True, but currently one of the most expensive. Someone once said first bank is 231..it is not true only that their process is cumbersome, the rate as at Friday was 223.6. After showing this yeye first bank evidence of payment of semester fee (a friend in Berlin helped in paying) they still decline my application because my name was not shown on the receipt (my friend paid directly from his account) but reference number corresponds. I got so annoyed and transferred all my money to another account. Meanwhile, Madam Adeola said they now have funds. I intend zooming back to Fidelity to finally do the transaction. Bremen has given me a letter to show cost of living in Germany.
#Teambremen, those that are yet to fund their account can pm me, I will forward you the letter as it is a general letter and addressed to whom it may concern.

Congrats to all those that got their Visa. i envy una oo. lol..Enough visa were issued last week Friday, I know three peeps we did interview same day with also got theirs same day but they are not on NL.
As it is now, the funding seem to be the most tedious of this process. I am sure we will all scale through. Cheers
Travel › Re: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by victz: 5:02pm On Aug 17, 2015
I almost had similar experience with Fedelity too. I transferred my money out of annoyance from Fedelity to Union Bank. And Union Bank carried out the transfer and i got confirmation from Deutsche Bank in less than 4 days with less stress. I even got 18Euro extra because Deutsche Bank sent a credit entry confirmation of €8,058 instead of the required €8,040

I did mine at Union Bank Headquarters, the amount they charged me was NGN228.50 per Euro. A total sum of NGN1848565 was deducted from my account. Just yesterday Deutsche Bank sent me a credit alert confirming a total sum €8,058 credited into my account Instead of €8,040.
kingsleymike:
My form A experience today with Union Bank Festac town, Lagos
Due to delays by GTBank, I decided to switch banks. Got to the Union bank last Tuesday, upon up a savings account and initiated the Form A transaction. Got a debit alert today for the total sum BUT AT A WHOPPING EXCHANGE RATE OF 231.50 NAIRA FOR 1 EURO. I have already placed a call to the officer and he told me politely he doesn't like dealing with official issues after working hours but that he's sure that is the right exchange rate. From experience I am aware that CBN Form A transactions should be treated with the CBN prevailing rate of that day which as at today stood at 219 Naira for 1 Euro.

My question is, for those who have done theirs, how much exchange rate was used for your transaction? I need answers because I am heading right back to the bank 1st thing on Monday for explanations. I need to make a good case that's why I your contribution.
Thank you all in advance.

Bro. What kind of a sad news is this? Why did you not attend the interview? What is your reason for not being able to make it to the interview? As it is now time is very short. Ask you school to extend the date. Wait until they lift the ban before re-applying and start praying. As it is now it's only prayer that you'll need.

Can't you tell your mum to transfer the money into your own account so that you can fund the blocked account yourself? If they still refuse to carry out the transaction for you after that you can look for another bank.

swtxt:
Hello house, just when I thought that I'd finally scaled through the form A hurdle, my mum's bank(Stanbicibtc, Umuahia) called to say they couldn't complete the transaction. Reason's being that: 1.) They need an official letter from the school stating that the money is indeed for my yearly upkeep (my mum has told them the embassy and not even the school demands that the money be paid into the account before you get any visa but they still insist on the letter)
2.) They(the headquarters) say that even though they're familiar with people using form A to fund their account (which as a matter of fact I'm beginning to doubt), that they've only handled the cases where the person trying to transfer is in fact the owner of the account (my mum is trying to transfer to my account with the form A method) and they've not come across a case where someone else is making the transfer.
All these things are beginning to stress me out sha... Anybody with an idea on how to tackle these issues? cry cry cry
