Why would a SENATOR of the Federal Republic lie like that in public?

~ If those who removed Buhari from power in 1985 knew he would ever come back, they would have killed him like Balewa, Ironsi or Murtala. They never imagined there would ever be a Buhari Presidency... they spotted a likely emergence of Idiagbon, they poisoned him immediately... lol. Not funny actually.

...Buhari defeated the combination of his destiny truncators...

Even as the President, Buhari was poisoned, those who poisoned him knew he couldn't have survived because others like Abiola, Abacha, Idiagbon didn't survive. The mystery of his survival has turned the reasoning of his assailants upside down. The Buhari they know is dead. Just like MOSES was different when he reappeared to the Egyptians...Moses was the First Jubrin from Sudan!!!
...

LOL...no wonder they all swore PMB came back from the dead as Jibrin Al Sudan!grin

Building a magnificent transport exchange at the heart of oshodi. Looks like a wonderful world class project right?

Rubbish! The idea of a transport exchange would work were things are a little more organised: rail system, organised transport system etc. Trust me, 3yrs from now, that magnificent place will be occupied by oshodi touts. They will have self contained accommodation there, allocate rooms and space to themselves with the kingpins at the choicest spots. It will be a cool stuff to smoke weed and a joint to run to when the bag of an innocent passerby is snatched.

Many things could happen in three years...it could even become better. Your fear is noted, but we need to remain positive. The transport exchange is a piece of the "Lagos Mega City" puzzle. It has to be built!

I also believe the market is best at picking winners.

The problem with Nigeria trying to pick winners, the country goes for a product it has no comparative advantage, bans the product or place punitive duties on the product and forces the masses to pay premium prices for a,product it has almost no plans to export.

You mentioned cement. The new or is it old kid on the block is now rice!

Even though comparative advantage can change over time in favor of local production, your point about how we employ half measures in policy development and implementation is still valid. Yea, if we have "no plans to export," import substitution is a half measure!

ImperialYoruba:

Ibo is not good at cerebral exercise assembling a logical, chronological chain-link of cause-effect events. At best they might have a good start but midway the mind strays and the thoughts shifts away from its intellectual engagement. Their mind behaves in similitude to their physique, quick twitches of brain muscle incapable of holding a thought or intellectual activity for a long concentration. The intellect has a very short endurance before it drops its cell electrons. Their physique is the same way. It lacks endurance for prolonged physical pressure before it yields. This is why they are good in contact sports or those events in which a quick jerk of the muscle is required. Any game of sports that require concentration and calculation to outmaneuver the opponent is not good for them, they fail in it. In physiology this deficiency is called ADD - Attention Deficit Disorder.

In discussion an Ibo will soon default to an emotional outburst, and unable to get his points across, he will all of a sudden resign to fate and conclude that he is being picked on, hated, stereotyped, envied, marginalized, singled out.

The genetic deficiency of ADD is truly at the root of his problem.

I can write a book on this topic of ADD and other deficiencies Ibo suffer from and its negative impact on their general mental and health balance.

It cannot be separated from their political output.

For this reason I will be an advocate of treating the Ibo demand for political inclusion the same way we would treat the demand of disabled persons for improvements in accessibility to public facilities. For indeed Ibo should be acknowdleged as a political handicap.

Just my thought!

Yoruba, the most Superior race on earth!

Haba! Oga please, tone down the rhetoric, as much as I find the online banters between Yorubas and Igbos entertaining, this post could be misconstrued for hate speech.

Asshurbanipal:

Lame. Buhari government is too dull to conceive and initiate project to their name. Apart from physical projects, which institutional reforms has Buhari embarked upon? He won't even sign anended electoral bill. OBJ created EFCC to fight corruption but GEJ exteded it to BVN and TSA. which one had Buhari created

It's obvious you and your ilk will never get it! Unfinished projects are no use to anyone unless completed. If you had been more reflective, you might have realized that these unfinished projects were "conceived and initiated" only as conduit pipes for looting the treasury. But here comes a responsible president who chose to make good 16 years of PDP's crass profligacy, and you dare call that lame! Incredible.

Reacting, Sani described the drama caused by the lawmakers at NASS as ‘absurd’.

The Kaduna lawmaker wrote: “The Budget Presentation was a theater of the absurd, one side of the opera occupied by the oleaginous and obsequious choristers craving for the attention of President Buhari, cheering even a sip of water, and the other occupied by unruly bands of impudent hecklers and discourteous objectors.”

UnchangeableGod:
That is not the the point Sir. The contempt of well meaning Nigerians on the so-called ant-corruption fight of the present government is the glaring partiality and political motive behind it. People are not fools except they pretend to be.

You missed the point completely!

Perhaps there are political motives behind certain arraignments of alleged looters, but only courts of competent jurisdiction can find an accused "guilty" or "not guilty." That is, the motives of the prosecutors are immaterial to the merits of any case against the accused; if there's no valid evidence, the accused will simply walk!

In any case, the thrust of my argument centers on the attitude of many PDP bigwigs and their co-travelers who believe that the corruption fight must not come at the expense of any economic indicator. Yes, in the short run, these negative impacts are unavoidable. But the long run effect is a more efficient society and more developed institutions upon which a much robust economy is built. So the corruption fight is a categorical imperative!

Senator Ahmed Lawan is one of the honest politicians in Nigerian.

Patiently waiting for 2019 so that he can be enthroned as the Senate president of federal republic of Nigeria.

While PMB is still the Commander in Chief.

Then 2023 we will handover to the SW to do their 8 years while the VP slot will go to El Rufai, aftwards the SW will handover back to the North come 2031.

It will keep going in circles till our neighbours get sense and learn how to play politics.

A traditional ruler is not an ordinary person, he represents the history and aspirations of his people. So how can El Rufai talk that carelessly about a traditional ruler? Or perhaps there are truths behind the rumours...

I'm sorry, El-Rufai is emotionally unintelligent.

PDP lost the presidential elections when Atiku won the primaries...I was actually fearful of Tambuwal, who was less controversial and without corruption baggage, getting the ticket. But when I saw Commander-in-Chief of corruption romping to victory in the PDP primaries, I knew Buhari had just been reelected!
