The statement he made that almost brought tears to my eyes was "as a child when I saw a bed the thought never came to me to sleep on it. The only thought I had was to make it"

He said he refused his fathers instruction to drop out of secondary school and he chose to go to college so as soon as he got admission to college his father stopped talking to him.

I was gobsmacked. He said throughout college he wud leave home before his father woke up out of fear. This meant leaving home b4 six am just to avoid seeing his dad in the morning.

Bimp said so much. It was only cos I got tired of beverley yapping in da jacuzzi dat I switched stations and landed smack in the middle of their conversation. I didn't start from the beginning but Bimps father clearly detested him and his elder brother. The elder brother left home early and doesn't talk to the dad so it was between bimp and his younger brother. He said he didn't have the right to open fridge as a kid. But he wud watch his younger brother do same. I didn't get the full family dynamic as to whether his mother was in the house when all this was going on but I assume it was his stepmother and the mother of his younger brother cos why else would a woman watch her husband mistreat one of their sons so badly. Bimp's father is rich and made Bimp to start working in one of his companies from age 7. Bimp said dat his father had never hugged him once or said he loved him or ever called him by a pet name. His father even instructed him to drop out of school 2yrs be4 college so he cud resume at one of his coys. The stories were many. To being treated as a slave in the house and constantly being intimidated by his dad. He confessed to Angelo that if he hears his fathers voice on a phone he gets frightened even at this age. In fact he said that if he is in a room and someone is speaking to his dad on the fone- once he hears his dads voice fear grips him. He said so much abeg. It was sickening.

This thread appears to have lost focus. The e-war around midnight took peeps away from the screens and it appears no one listened to Bimp's discussion about his father with Angelo. It is sad to know that God allows such evil men to prosper. My mouth fell agape at the horror stories he told. Have always known that Bimp was suffering from an inferiority complex but with a man like that as a father I can understand why. May God help Bimp.He is seriously emotionally damaged.

@chistar. Keep up the good work ur gifted indeed. I recognise the format you wrote it in presents some difficulties when it comes to character development as these are short stories. But if u read James Hadley Chase you will discover that its possible to tell us WHY a character takes a certain step within a few lines. For example Chase would have given us a tangible reason why a virgin would give a guy a public BJ within a few hours of meeting him. Having a crush is a weak motivation cos I'm sure u will agree with me that Teniola wasn't thereafter described as a lousy girl. In fact the opposite as u took time to paint a pic of a sweet girl which I'm sure all your readers wud also describe her.

All in all always think of character development as that is the primary thing lacking in Nollywood scripts.
Try and watch the movie End of Watch with Jake Gyllenhall. It is a classic case of spending a whole movie building up a character only for the person to end horribly. The series Game of Thrones and Breaking bad are also good egs of excellent character development. Why I'm mentioning movies and soaps is cause your writing is so good that this story can easily be turned into a screenplay and made into a movie or series.
LiteratureRe: My Complicated Love Story by VULCAN(m):
I don't need to spend time on what so many others have said about ur writing. It is brilliant I must say. Plot, structure, writing style. Powerfully addictive.

So let me go straight into areas that need work

The correct spelling is Michael. A cardinal sin to misspell your main characters name. Loll

How did Michael take a blood sample by himself?

The cliffhangers were numerous and created such a powerful desire to keep reading. Someone said you should stop it and it appears u consented. I think that was wrong. Yes it can't work in a proper novel format as one or two pages can't make a chapter but it is unique so u shud maintain it for this format in future

When sandra walked in on Mike and Ify. Her eyes filled with tears immediately. It doesn't work that way. First is shock then disbelief then anger before the tears come flooding down.

And perfume doesn't go ahead of someone like an escort rider so how could Mike have smelt Sandra's perfume as she stood at the door ever before he looked up to see her standing dere?

How did mike know the make n model of the gun that the capo pointed at him at his front door?

Surprised that there were no reprisals from the cultists after their arrest. They have members in other schools and revenge is da order of da day. No reason was given for that.

After being robbed he went home wid his fone. C'mon

The general impression given by the story is dat uniport girls are always on heat. They seem to be just hungrily waiting for someone to ask dem for sex. Is that a true representation? If not then Remember that if ur writing about real life peoples actions have to be believable to those who have experienced such. Dats why we can learn so much about the US justice system because their soaps and movies show us what really happens. Nollywood fails in dat respect as they show us two plain clothes men walking into someones living room to arrest them (In reality, it never happens that way).

Another unrealistic part is the fact that none of these girls are materialistic or even financially dependent on guys. None do runs or have sugar daddies. How many guys in nigeria can boast of sleeping with 4 girls and none asks him for money for hair or recharge card. Let's be real please.

He gave his life to christ and it had absolutely no effect on his behaviour whatsoever. That doesn't sound right. At the very least it wud have slowed him down for a long while b4 he went back to his fmr ways.

No explanation given for why urch doesn't have a car. Someone dat can burn that much money to celebrate Michael's birthday can surely afford a car

His auntie is always sending him money when banks are closed. Does she do online banking abi how far?

Tenny giving him a public bj within a few hrs of their meeting was unrealistic. U didn't explain what in her character(being a virgin especially) wud enable her do such.

It ended a bit too weakly. Didn't pack a punch as we already guessed dat Urch was banging Chidinma. He forgave chidinma and urch too easily. You rushed de ending. It wasn't handled as well as the rest of da story. That ended more like the average nollywood movie. Every man dat has ever been betrayed like dat knows dat its takes a very long while to forgive. A few minutes of begging by the perpetrators and sandra doesn't cut it at all. If ur writing for mills and boon readers den all dey want is a happy ending but in real life its takes much more than the way it concluded.

How do u relate the end to the beginning. At the conclusion he's dating sandra but at the origin they were just besties b4 the flashback started and the story began. Does it mean that the story ends AFTER the start of the tale when they were already besties.

On the whole. Its the most addictive thing I have read in recent memory.

Anyman that has dated older women will see no big deal in this. The only caveat is that she should be unmarried otherwise your destiny will be truncated. It takes a fearless man to chase a lady that you cannot buy with money. There is no fun in chasing these recharge card girls. No challenge either. Most men can't chase a girl that they can't show off their money. My secondary school captain dated a corper. I dated two older students in uni and since have dated two much older women. I don't take money from them but where else do you find such intellectual stimulation as in an older woman. They can't be talking fashion and Kardashian with you. If its politics, religion or business. They have a view. But my advise to poster is to take it easy cos for you to be asking such question here means you don't have the necessary skills to pull it off. If she makes the first move then carry go. Too many hypocrites on here shouting about love as if they love the campus girls dey are dating. Who knows whether the woman will even mature the guy. But if she's married, stay clear bros.

African women do not abandon Money for Love. Melvin is tantalising Dilish but she knows the danger he represents. She started dating Steven as a teenager and he has been taking care of her. She cannot afford to throw that all away for a 60 day fantasy UNLESS....

......Melvin wins the money. Then she will drop Steven the same way Elisabeth dropped the man she was dating to marry Kevin. Elisabeth had said that the man had been taking care of her from her teenage years. Dilish is standing in Elisabeth's shoes now. The only difference being that Dilish actually has feelings for Melvin whereas Elisabeth was leading Kevin on. Dilish will do everything humanly possible to not lose Steven by messing up as Melvin is just a starter and without Big Brother money may not be able to keep her in the standard of living that Steven has been doing all these years.

We all have dissed these housemates at one particular time or the other, doesn't mean we are better than they are but they have put themselves in the position to be judged as housemates. Let everyone feel free to drop their opinions without attacking them too deep.

safarigirl: if someone swaps Bev, so what? No be Bev go even revenge, go and ask Itai what happens to those who put up Naija housemates. Annabel has revealed that she was being smart, not forgiving or mature even. Like I said, we thank her, but she would do better to rally others to nominate Melvin so he can get that grooming already.
You have made a point about putting up naija housemates which I agree with. But my question remains unanswered. If Annabel and Melvin's nationalities were swapped would you still say that what Annabel did was an offence?

We don thank her finish, if she attacks our own, all bets are off, it's this our 'niceness' that's causing insults everywhere.
@safarigirl. I would like to ask you a question that requires you to pause for thought before you answer. If Melvin was a Kenyan and Annabel a Nigerian, would you still say that she has no right to pay Melvin back with his own coin? Think carefully before you answer because someone may swap our Bev before this game is over.

spade: I'm also glad for another thing:

Annabel revealed the real reason she didn't put Melvin up. She said it was because she studied the nominees up at that time and realized that if she put him up, he'd survive it. So she decided to sit it out and wait for when he's up against stiffer competition that would surely take him out.

I'm just so glad she exposed her strategy here.
Nigerians owe her no favours whatsoever, so I don't want anyone coming here to say "remember she didn't put Melvin up" or some stupiidd shiiit like that. She did it for herself; so whenever she's up against someone like Nando, ignore her completely.

I don talk my own.
@spade. You seem to have completely ignored the fact that Melvin swapped her and put her up for eviction the week before. Please don't ignore causes and harp on effects. Melvin did it to her first. Let's call a spade a spade ok. LOL
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m):
I started reading this thread from page 1 and have read most of the posts (skipped most of the gh vs ngr crap). This BBA is boring (except on weekends as someone noted) but there is no boredom on this thread.

Having noticed miss sparkle's consistency on this thread I would like to draw some similarities btw miss sparkle, Beaf and Reuben Abati.

miss sparkle claims that she does not know Bev personally. That's probably untrue. And if it is true then she's likely a hired gun. Her attacks against anyone who disses Bev are so animated. Also her defence of everything that Bev does reminds us of beaf and Reuben defending their paymaster.

The fact that miss sparkle has been unable to win over a single convert in 200 pages is testament to the fact that she has adopted a flawed strategy and not necessarily a function of Bev's personality.

Apostle Paul said that the Jews had zeal without knowledge. That seems to also fit miss sparkles attempts to be a brand ambassador for Beverly. Out of all the contestants its only Bev that has revealed tonnes of personal info. It took biggie asking for survival stories for peeps to begin to open up. Instead of accentuating the good in Bev and asking us kindly to take Bev's extremely difficult upbringing and lack of maternal care into consideration- she attacks peeps like a Rottweiler. Miss sparkle -learn from natasha's crocodile tears that havent failed to keep her from getting evicted. Sympathy can go a long way

Let us all learn that whenever we have a cause we believe in and we wish to garner support, we should identify benefits and reasons that would resonate with our potential converts. That will yield us greater success in gathering followers than rabidly supporting anything that our cause aligns with or attacking opponents of our cause. After all Suicide bombing, Sept 11 and Boko Haram have done more damage to the image of Islam than it has generated converts.

Bev is childish. That is a fact. Should that disqualify her from the money. Not necessarily. But miss sparkle's attempts to legitimize everything Beverly does has done more harm than good to Bev's chances on this forum.

I'm a Nigerian and I wish Bev all the best

Julieni: Amaka is so right, bba isnot a sex show, so i respect melvin act to be descent, and hey guys, melvin isn't gay...

Already there is a bc abt bba on bbm. Which it is because tthis. Same sex issues going on iin d bba aus..read below

LETTER TO DSTV ON BBA FROM AFRICA YOUTH.I urge and plead with All Africa Youths, let's ask DSTV to give Us a BBA where Africa Youths go and discuss, profer solution to solve Africa Problems not this morally loosed show where single parents who can't keep their relationships go into the house to show their fallen breasts. Drug addicts, porn stars, ill mannered people mix up and get rewarded. All they do there is drink, smoke, gossip and sex. Haa!!! Having sex in the public with somebody who is not your spouse? God have mercy ! The demon of sexual immorality has etched its ugly head into the show, hence the next sane option is to nip the programme in the bud. The BBA is all about immoral behaviour and that is why it attracts lots of fans. They even prefer open sex every day. There is no single thing to learn from the programme, they just promote sex and immorality. It's time we ignore it & speak up against it, for what it's worth. How long does it take to imbibe a habit? 21 days; and BBA runs for 90days, subtly making people addicts to bad habits. Say No to TV shows without value. Reality shows with immorality is a No No!!!!!!....

So thatss it,pls i dont support sex in d aus, which is d more reasons, hm Are being evicted, let's leave our Man melvin alone to play d game.
At the rate BBA is going we will soon see gay sex on the show. This year (with very few exceptions)they purposely profiled people with low morals and poor home training so that BBA can appeal to the the basest natures within us all. As the letterabove states we should be having dialogues about the problems of Africa and possible solutions. Has anybody noticed how they dumbed down the tasks this year. Knowing the general IQ was very low they keep giving em tasks that fit a kindergarten class. So sad. Something must be wrong when people that have stable relationships outside the house are all falling into lust within 2 weeks. How can you ruin ur relationship of 1 or 2 yrs just cos u were thrown together wid members of opposite sex for 20 days(in some cases some HM's were on heat within 7 days). I am well aware that BB UK followed this trend and is a joke now. But let us not forget that Africa is a land with myriad of problems and not even creating specific times for people to think up solutions is wrong. What's so incredible about adults writing love poems? I wrote my first poems at age 13. Please let the South Africans not propagate their lack of morals round the continent. They should stop deceiving us. SA is the real giant of Africa not Nigeria(I am a Nigerian) but was this how they got there? SA was industralised long b4 Nyja ever had an automated factory so why can't they gather people that can add value to Africa. I like my soaps as much as the next person but every good soap has more than sex and smoking going for it. The only thing that makes me hang on to BBA is cos I love intrigues, betrayals, shockers and loyalty. But let them add some value abeg.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m):
@ozodigboo
Thanks for ur analysis.Even though my questions were rhetorical as I hold the same view on the answers to Nos 2 and 3, you missed out a salient point in your answers to Nos 1 and 4. Here goes- Annabel was not his only option. She was amongst the first to make him feel at home on arrival and stuck to him throughout believing he was a friend and ally. Even her show of support to him just before eviction is proof of same. Now he has nominated her again. Isn't it obvious that something transpired btw them that made him to see her in a negative light. Something that we didn't notice. Especially kslib who blindly defended Melvin only to admit that he does not know why Melvin put her up. Whatever Annabel did to Melvin, she was blissfully unaware and that's why I call it betrayal. He had the opportunity to confront her and say I don't like this or that about you instead of lulling her into a false sense of security. Its somewhere in the Old Testament that you should not do evil to someone who is living peaceably with you. He had other options and that renders your answers to Nos 1 and 4 moot.

Another point I was trying to make to kslib is that if Melvin was so strong in his convictions why all the guilt?? Let's pray that she doesn't swap him as that is what he actually deserves. If he really thought that Africa would take Annabel out this early then his strategy needs updating.

ozodigboo: @ Vulcan - what are u saying ? Abeg free Kslib jor . Let me answer ur questions.

1. What was Annabel's offence ?

She had no offense, and nobody said she did. If Melvin didn't put her up and put anyone else up, then what will be d person's offense ? Someone had to be chosen.

2. Why did Melvin feel so bad BEFORE eviction ?

because, Annabel not only came to cheer him up as the time approached, but she sat close to him [ not knowing she was the one ].

3. Why did Melvin feel so bad AFTER eviction ?

because Annabel was saved, so he was thinking of how to face her, and whether she will revenge, as she is now HOH.

4. Why did he swap Bolt instead of Biguesas ?
.. Bolt is from West Africa - he needs Sierra leone votes later
.. By saving Bolt, he gained an extra vote frm Betty for today's nomination.
.. Bolt has been saved by Africa before - so, even though he may not be popular in da house, he will be saved outside. And u don't want a saved Bolt to come back and meet u in da house.
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m): 7:13am On Jun 17, 2013
Kslib: Its so easy for you to sit at home and open your mouth to judge melvin for nominating annabel when you clearly dont know waht has been happening in the house..
Ask yourself, why will melvin nominate betty and bolt last two weeks and suddenly save that same bolt who he nominated and replaced him with annabell who he didnt initially..
So cos annabel welcomed him when they came to the house simply means she's an angel shey..
You said annabel gave melvin her trust. Pls when did that happen? Abeg refresh my memory...
I am not easlily deceived by someone's behaviour in public.. Annabel definately don sh*iit for church dats y melvin nominate her..shikena!!!
@kslib
Why would I ask myself why Melvin betrayed Annabel when u read Melvins mind on per second billing and know the answer(although with your long-winded post you could not tell me). Pray tell me what was Annabel's offence and while your @ it also explain why MeLvin felt so bad just before and after eviction considering he did the right thing (according to you that knows it all) by swapping bolt(who the HM's didnt want) for annabel. And while your busy reading Melvins mind pls tell us what he ate for breakfast the morning he went for BBA audition?
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m): 11:21pm On Jun 16, 2013
Frankly I was astounded that Melvin replaced Bolt with Annabel. And when I came here I saw peeps sounding like it was no big deal. Where I come from that's called betrayal cos Annabel gave him a royal welcome and put her trust in him. Say what you will- it was also a dumb move cos Annabel was not likely to get evicted so now he is feeling bad about it and is gonna be walking on eggshells all week not knowing if Annabel is going to revenge yet the same peeps who didn't mind him putting annabel up are telling him to cheer up. I woudnt want peeps like these as my friends oh.

PS. 90% of those warning her not to revenge from the comfort of their sofas wud revenge if they were in da house

TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m): 11:09pm On Jun 06, 2013
It seems the brain boxes behind BBA have run out of ideas. A kissing task. How pathetic! Many peeps don't know that this was how BB uk went down the tubes and now no one watches it anymore. The theme "The chase" refers to what exactly? Seems BBA is focused on encouraging fornication by all means in this edition. That's why they only had two extra smart peeps in Denzel and Fatima. So we are gonna be watching a 91 day matchmaking show. By the 45th day it will just be the duplication of Bolt and Betty all over. How sad. Well let's make the most of a declining brand
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m): 7:17pm On Jun 05, 2013
....If not dat Denzel's open mouth was such a turn off for Africa he should be returned to the game. BBA is left with only sulu to deliver any entertainment value. On opening night everyone said they were gonna be real. If dis is real please give us some fake!
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m): 7:16pm On Jun 05, 2013
......BBA needs to up their game on the selection process or are they saying that most beautiful people are airheads. I think most of these people gave great interviews at their auditions but deep down can't deliver much entertainment value.

This is akin to the challenge recruiters face as some candidates have mastered the art of giving a great interview but cannot perform on the job. Imagine bolt and betty losing focus within 24hrs of entering the house or hakeem behaving like a love struck toddler. Biguesas is like a whale stuck on a beach. Nando, bimp, maria and some others are almost invisible. Even Angelo's claim of being a dance instructor is so obviously fraudulent. BBa seems to have lost the ability to find people that africans will be fascinated by(I'm excluding fascination with delish's beauty or annabel's boobs)...
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m): 7:13pm On Jun 05, 2013
If we must tell ourselves the truth the choice of contestants this year is rather off. Objective ones amongst us will know that we are making the most of a rather boring lot. The social dynamics is like watching paint dry. This is so noticeable to me 'cos on opening night I was excited after seeing the contestants-it looked like bba was gonna be a keg of dynamite. After 5 days in the house I realised that almost all of them have very bland personalities. I was still hoping for fireworks but its been over 10 days now and its becoming glaringly obvious that apart from sex there will be very little excitement or intellectual engagements in this edition. Take fatima for eg-on opening nite she said she is a mixture of crazy and calm and pointed to her crazy hairdo. Well, the calm part was true. Maybe we will see crazy whenever she is up for eviction.....
TV/MoviesRe: Big Brother Africa "The Chase" Official Thread by VULCAN(m): 10:16pm On Jun 01, 2013
Calling Angelo a professional dance instructor is a slap on the face of the profession. obvioulsy he got his certificate through the back door.

There's something satisfying about having your suspicions confirmed. I KNEW Denzel was lying when he claimed to have simultaneous relationships with girls who all knew about each other. He just confessed in the Diary room that it was all made up. I have never seen a player who walks around with his tongue sticking out like a bingo dog. I won't be surprised if it turns out he is a virgin. Everything about him screams nerd. But I am forced to respect his guile. He did it to be attractive to the women and it may be working.

Clit, thank you very much for providing me with the answer to a question that has plagued me for years; Why does Islam fuel hatred everywhere it spreads? Why is it synonymous with bloodshed and an utter and complete disregard for human life? Instead of disputing over scriptures and the lies Mohammed told to his followers that he had an additional revelation from God, you have simply told us the History of the man as recorded by his closest personal allies. If you had used material external to the Koran they would have rallied round to reject it but the best a couple of them can do is to give half hearted condemnation yet unable to refute it with tangible evidence. You have done well. Its clear from your write up that alnajiri represents the TRUE FACE OF ISLAM. He has told us that they are after Global Sharia(an event that will not happen) but at least they will give it their best shot. Kudos to U Clit for your posts.
PoliticsRe: Supreme-Court Justice's Wife And Daughter Kidnapped by VULCAN(m):
Afolabs101: I pray they are all returned safely and unharmed.

The man was warned by his friends not to go and do wedding in the East because of the security situation but he insisted.

As for his own security detail, driving around Lagos he wouldn't have more than a police orderly, and maybe one for the wife. But traveling to the East, he would have met with one of the local commanders and organized some mobile policemen for the journey.

However, as we're seeing more and more of lately, the security forces may not be up to the task. So it is only God that will save us
I'm amazed by the fiction that was posted above in the name of insider information. It appears this person needs to feel important so he conjures up fake info like a magician. FYI- the traditional wedding of the kidnapped lady is fixed for THIS thursday and the white is for THIS saturday both in Lagos-the mother and daughter had a wedding to attend in Edo and went by road because the mother is scared of flying. Only you know where you dreamt and heard that the father was advised not to do wedding in the East. If you have something against easterners don't turn it into an obsession!
