Afolabs101: I pray they are all returned safely and unharmed.I'm amazed by the fiction that was posted above in the name of insider information. It appears this person needs to feel important so he conjures up fake info like a magician. FYI- the traditional wedding of the kidnapped lady is fixed for THIS thursday and the white is for THIS saturday both in Lagos-the mother had a wedding to attend in Edo and took the daughter along. Only you know where you dreamt and heard that the father was advised not to do wedding in the East. If you have something against easterners don't turn it into an obsession |
@Durchmann As is the norm with the average nyja they thrive on hypocrisy. Most of the people screaming "forgive forgive" are holding grudges against at least 5 people and at least one of those 5 grudges is more than 5 years old. None have given you a practical technology on how to forgive. Na by mouth! Having said this; Divorce is a dark path. Its no joke. Aside from her saying the boy is not yours you havent said anything that most men are not experiencing in their homes so till you shed more light on your case I will say that is more of the norm than an aberration.The modern day life is one that places a primary importance on financial stability and most nigerian women are brought up to be dependent on a man. Few black wives mistreat a rich and successful husband. Please take the boy for DNA test as a first step as no woman in her right mind would joke about such a weighty matter. Im not a mindreader but for her to say that and coupled with her constant harrassment it appears she has built up a great deal of resentment against you. Perhaps she wanted to marry the father of the child(if it turns out the boy is not yours) but was unable. She definitely sounds like a woman whose heart is fixed outside. After the DNA test(hopefully the boy is yours) you should sit her down for a last ditch effort. If after that discussion she decides to maintain her trajectory then you call in a matured mind from her family. If no dice then you initiate moves for trial separation. Four months is long enough for her to decide if she wants to continue in her ways or amend. Pls note i am making a lot of assumptions here- from the calm way you sound I'm believing that you are the victim. It would be a shame if we later find out that you are the monster. Its only if after the four months trial separation that she remains intransigent that one should talk of divorce- not before. Pls note that spiritual counselling throughout all this is a very important requirement. Prayers coupled with meditating on the Scriptures will yield great dividends. |
I'm still hoping that someone will take desika on. I have watched some very erudite Islamic scholars on Islam channel and they didn't come across as just anti-bible and no substance. I got the impression that they know their onions very well. Well those chaps I have watched are arabs and caucasian. Maybe the problem is a black man problem as always. Black people are known for avoiding intellectual debate and making it all personal. There are at least 300,000 people on Nairaland(I'm excluding the multiple I'd's). So someone should spice up this thread abeg. Is there anybody out there? |
Pls all should go back to deSika's earliest submissions as we have gotten bogged down for a while in the 5 pillars of islam argument. DeSika made other assertions so let's get more light on those ones. Some just insult deSika because the issues he brings up are too touchy to deal with. I understand that type and such should be ignored on this type of thread that began with a logical thrust. They should reserve their insults for threads where everyone is yelling "my God is the only real God". This is not a thread about Man U v Chelsea where passion alone carries weight. So if there is anyone who has taken time to read through all of deSika's posts especially those at the beginning and can meet him head on I wud be glad. Kudos also to alexis who is trying hard to keep emotion out of it and ask some hard questions. |
Possibly the worst post here attempting to rebut deSika is that of justme006. He has only succeeded in weakening the argument for Islam by such a post. I have to say it is nothing short of pathetic and shows that the poster is either very superficial in his knowledge of the bible or very dubious. True, there is nothing untoward in lacking biblical knowledge especially as he is a muslim but why base your points on utter and complete falsehood. He is quoting a verse in the bible in an attempt to show that Christianity supports killing those of other faiths and he then uses a sentence in a story that Jesus was telling his disciples about a king. Justme006 takes one line out of the whole story and wants to build a case out of that. How shallow can one get? Even 8yr olds who attend sunday school know such stories are called parables- A very short story that is told to show forth a truth in a way that all can understand. Talk about taking a sentence out of context. I hope justme006 doesn't represent the best muslim minds that nairaland has to offer because that would be a letdown. |
A thread that was meant for intellectuals has been hijacked as usual by weaker minds. deSika has taken time to delve into both the Koran and other ancient manuscripts and uncovered issues that require explanation. Unfortunately there isn't anyone yet who has met him point for point,logic for logic. The attempts at rebuttal were rather weak and reveal that none of the responders has sufficiently thought these questions through. Its not enough to quote some verses that DO NOT sufficiently floor desika's points. We all know what a knock out looks like in boxing. I was looking forward to someone matching him with deep, incisive, well rounded and sound explanations. The responses so far seem rather knee-jerk and sound like "this is what I was told" and not "this is what I have found". The response to DeSika's submissions demand logic, references to the Koran AND other ancient manuscripts. Just quoting from the Koran is weak in this respect because deSika implies that the questions are asked by a non-muslim. If a non-Christian asks a Christian why they believe that Jesus is the Messiah that the Jews are still waiting for- then quoting the words of Jesus alone is rather weak because as a non-Christian he is'nt expected to exercise faith in Jesus. |
One of the reasons for some of the responses on this thread is that most people don't even know what the term "Christian" means. The Word says that THE DISCIPLES were first called "Christians" at Antioch. The first stage is believer, then disciple of Christ before people should call one a Christian. Unfortunately its just easier to call a person Christian because he or she attends church or did water baptism as a teenager. No wonder The Word says The Lord knows those who are His. |
Andrew HArvey is now God- whose Word is Truth? Like I always say The ability to think independently of the herd is a vital tool we africans need. Here is a man who conspired with his wife to con the whole world for over 7yrs and suddenly some here have swallowed his story hook line and sinker. Pls the married men here should stand up. Your wife who u love so dearly dies suddenly and within 24hrs you are on facebook struggling to gain attention. Its obvious he was desperately waiting for an opportunity to tell the world they were married otherwise why the sudden speed to unveil a secret you had kept perfectly for 7yrs. If he was grieving he would have waited for the tears to dry before going on FB. The Prezzo matter must have created friction btw the couple. C'mon people. Its obvious that there was a love triangle between the three parties. What kinda man will be in his house while your wife is shedding tears over another man for the world to see and you tell us it was a game. Abi Prezzo's visits after bba and their trip to US was also a game. He is just trying to cover his shame. And as to his reasons for deceiving the world about her marital status- very poor. Its not like he is diplomat who might lose his career prospects cos of his wife's antics and if its about her marketability- Has Beyonce stopped selling records since she got married for us to know that marriage affects your ability to sell records. Or Mariah Carey? Don't worry Prezzo will soon respond with his own remix then those who believe the last person to speak will switch sides again. All I can say is we haven't heard the whole truth and nothing but the truth. |
@Solozzo Thanks for your genuine advice. But truthfully there is a big difference btw a tough parent, a dysfunctional parent and an evil one. Those who have either of the fmr will easily recover. Only those who have the latter can understand the horror. As Africans we like to romanticise the parental role as if an occultist or nymphomanic is endowed with a parental spirit just because they have a child. There are 7 billion people out there. Some are really evil. That's all. |
This is a very touching post. Just generates wistful feelings. Those that have very positive reports about their father are the lucky ones. I must confess, I envy you. None of them know the pain of a bad father. Some of us have only horror stories. My siblings and I have no good memories of him. Well for those of us that lost out in the good daddy sweepstakes, we must ensure that we do not repeat the wrongs done to us to our own kids. |
I watched Okon in Lagos and tears rolled down my eyes as i laughed and laughed and laughed. I dont know where this Imeh Bishop Umoh came from but soon he will be known all over. The script was also very tight which i really loved. Nobody has been able to give Nkem Owoh and Chinwetalu Agu a run for their money in this game till now. There is a new kid on the block and at last i can understand the meaning of the phrase "rib cracking" comedy |
@samuellee1.I didn't say that dishonesty began in Nigeria! What I am noting is the vehemence with which people are cursing the man for returning the money.Saying "I would keep it if I were me" is understandable. But spewing hatred for an act that deserves a national honour and a good pension for life- No, That is not normal in ANY other country.I stand to be corrected. samuelee1: Mind blowin. 9ja i hail o, una no dey fail o. |
. |
@deeplow. You have made a very good point. No one knows what they would do in that situation. IF the day before finding that money your fiancee came to tell you in tears that her parents said you are too poor for her and she should break It off, then it would take a power direct from the throne of God Himself for you not to take that money and go show her parents that levels have changed. ![]() Nevertheless it doesn't change the fact that what is bad is bad. |
@ de Okija juju fool. Ur username describes who u are. If my mentioning ritual killers(which by ur username are ur customers) got u worked up then so be it. I wouldn't expect a person at ur level to understand the difficulties that Nigerians experience abroad. For u to doubt that a person on nairaland can have a visa shows the level u operate at.Good is good and evil is evil we all do wrong but when a person calls you to order u are left to pause and decide whether u wanna carry on or not. But only a lost soul like u will say that the evil you wanna do is good. Let armed robbers attack you and maim you then come here and say that the government should be blamed not the boys since there is no money circulating. Wasted generation like You |
This thread has said it all. It explains why Nigerians are not trusted anywhere in the world. Why the searches are more vigorous when u show that green passport at any airport. Why the questioning is more detailed. I am not above temptation neither can I say I have never done wrong but to hear people cursing this man for returning this money gives me shivers. No wonder ritual killing for wealth and political power occurs daily in Nigeria. One of the thing I know about evil is that it starts very small and then grows. Those men who sacrifice new born babies didn't begin that way. And if u had told them 10-15 yrs before they did it for the first time they would one day dismember a fellow human being for money they would abuse you. Nigeria will eventually implode as the followers are just as Godless as the leaders. |
exportgeek- who ever heard of an advert without a phone number, website or physical address? Back to the drawing board you go |
If this is how everybody feels then im there"s only one thing to say......... its OK |
Life took a very sudden and very dramatic turn for the worse. Life will never be dat simple and idyllic again. |
Delafruita- I wondered the same thing ![]() To the guys fighting- I don't know your history but its obvious the beef goes a long way. Unfortunately u destroyed what could have been a very interesting discussion. We could have all learnt something if these cusses weren't part of it. Initially I could wade thru the abuses to find de gems of the dialogue but after a while that became too much hard work. Let's hope to run into this topic again discussed dispassionately. |
@ENIGMA. My bad. A thousand apologies. |
@ENIGMA: read it again, slower this time. If u still don't "get" it then ask drzed- he did!! |
Of course Dana Air is a "Nigerian" company as it meets such definition by its communications mgr as being registered in Nigeria with Nigerians as shareholders. Here are some other "Nigerian" companies MTN Etisalat Airtel DSTV Heineken BA Virgin Atlantic Air France Accenture PWC P&G SPAR Since we all know that these companies are "Nigerian" then there is no reason to doubt the Tony chap. I think with these type of peers we are now totally convinced dat Dana Air is a Nigerian company |
@fnk,pls ignore the initial email I gave. It has issues. That's why I gave u this new one: dondada@mailinator.com Thanks |
@fnk pls I'm still waiting. dondada@mailinator.com. Thanks |
@fnk, u r right but the disaster stories are more than the successes methinks. Hindsight who is the OP being one eg. I don't see why those who have gone ahead can't drop tips and tricks here based on their own individual experiences. I wonder how come hindsight who had a consultant still had such a bad experience although I have never believed in "consultants" who don't practice what they preach anyway. Its strange that you who r not practicing are the one assisting peeps on the forum. If not for you this thread would have died a long time ago Anyway, From what i gather it appears it is very risky to start a poultry farm unless one lives on site or at the worst 10mins away Fnk pls resend the report to dondada@mailinator.com. Thanks |
What is going on with this thread? Does it mean that out of 800,000 nairaland subscribers we don't have farmers or what? Its a shame. Poor hindsight had a setback and fnk is abroad so does it mean that nobody can take up the slack? What does it cost the farmers here to share a bit of their knowledge, experiences, success and failures. If it is politics, religion or romance thread all sorts of contributions will be made. Pls let's keep this thread alive n kicking |
@OYINBOGOJU, Bruv u almost killed me with laughter describing the lift OYINBOGOJU: Well the only elevator i know at the airport is obviously a death trap.. I had to struggle to hold down the guffaws as people are around me. recruitmnt: I have personally experienced all of the above. Infact on a particular day it almost cut off my dads head! His body was inside, we were holding the open button and he tried to look out to call someone. All of a sudden the lift door started closing and the man didn't know the danger..lolBoth of u shud take it easy as my chest almost caved in with laughter at both posts ![]() But that aside is a bit shameful that some people can be so unobservant as not to notice the 2 lifts @ MMIA. Obviously some dont go to airport more than once or twice a decade. At the bottom of each stairwell that take you from arrival to departure resides a lift. Close to the toilets. Someone who works in the airport should pls take pics for the benefit of the doubting thomases. lol |
@fnk sorry i havent seen it |
Pro01 Has summed it up perfectly. Ndi played the" Game of Thrones" very well till she lost out but Oteh never even understood that there was "a Game" going on talkless of understanding the rules. |
@scribble, Arunma's case is really bad. Watching her during Hembe's probe i cringed so many times out of shame. Didnt u notice she has no guru sitting beside her. What CEO of such an important organisation who knows they have no grasp of their office goes to a probe without having a brainiac on hand? Only Arunma. She dodged so many questions and gave such longwinded answers for those few she had answers too that i actually stormed away from the telly in disgust. The woman is an empty barrel Watching Ndi the other day i realised why she was called Amazon. I confess she derailed towards the end of her tenure with Transcorp etc but boy; i dont know when last i saw a public office holder thrill the public with such wit, grasp of historical facts and deep technical knowledge and yet remain humble throughout. I almost forgave her for derailing the stock xchange that she herself built to gargantuan proportions. Ndi was brought down by Hubris. Oteh will be wrecked by arrogance and incompetence. Nobody can point to one single tangible step she has made to revive the stock market that Ndi wrecked. Arunma has a first class from Nsukka, watching her- one wonders how she achieved it |
@fnk, i am very intrigued by anyone that does their own unique research in a field of numerous "experts"and comes up with a startling discovery as u have been able to do. If this yur vmix is as u have said den it will make u a $ millionaire within a short time in Nigeria and if properly patented in UK or US will turn u into a living legend. Its exciting to know that a nigerian can come up with something that will shock the West. Kudos in advance. In the interim i also would like to take a look at the info you have been so kind to share. Pls email me @ dennis@mailinator.com Many thanks |

@ENIGMA. My bad. A thousand apologies.
