@SlightyMad

You have to go back to the drawing board because the example you quoted supports the N64B runway.

The KL runway is 8 1/2 times the cost yet only 3 times the length of the proposed Abj 2nd runway. Sorry but your proving the cost as being reasonable.

You need a better example bros
slightlyMad: sure, thats why the Pro-Oduah group created the thread.

64,000,000,000 naira to build just 1 runway that will start "leaking" days after it is completed, dont you see that it is inflated already?
that money will build an airport

Kuala Lumpur International Airport which is Malaysia's main international airport and one the major airport of South East Asia
It was ranked the 9th busiest airport in the world by international passenger traffic, and is the 4th busiest international airport in Asia
Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kuala_Lumpur_International_Airport

was built with 3.5 billion USD approximately 540 billion naira and has 2 parallel runways, each is 2 kilometers long
Our greedy mistress want to build a single "local standard" 700 meters runway for 64 Billion naira

@ Rossike

I firmly agree with your premise but definitely not with all dese insults. You have allowed ur very interesting thread lose meaning by giving in to anger. If someone insults you based on THIS premise then you should let it slide.

Everyone that watches news on cable knows that Oyinbo perpetuates the myth that we are all wretched on this continent. So why are you slugging it out online? Instead of you to evolve the thread to adduce reasons for this conspiracy your busy fighting WW3!! Nothing in ur original post has any relation to what ur fighting about.

ROSSIKE: Thanks, and your mother is a lobotomised gorilla. Your father a kangaroo/dog hybrid, and you, a nondescript, ugly mongrel of indeterminate species.

Yes. TELL US WHAT PART OF NIGERIA YOU COME FROM. Personally I do not believe you are a Nigerian. Prove me wrong. What have you got to hide? I am Igbo. What ethnicity are you? We want to know why this topic is of interest to you. Who are you?

You are saying all war is justified? You are an even worse vampire than I thought.

it stands to reason that if you are exporting as much oil as Nigeria and have just 3 or 4 million mouths to feed, your people will live a more prosperous life than 170 million Nigerians on the same income. Even a bonehead knows that. Or are you on drugs?

Thanks. Now tell us who you are and what part of Nigeria you are from. Can you speak any Nigerian language? How many years ago did you last visit Nigeria?
Did you read the title of the post? Even here in the UK, i have seen a well built house shown on CNN.

I guess there is a cabal that has mandated western media not to show middle class buildings in Nigeria.
LOL. Azed saw "A" well built house on CNN. So we should close the thread then and go home. The whole world knows that they have well built houses in Africa since Azed managed to sight "one". This must mean BigFoot and the Loch Ness monster are real since a couple of people saw 'em.

Azed sounds intelligent so how he translates into seeing a well built house once on CNN as meaning the general world populace believes that there are well built houses in Africa. Let me clarify for you. Africa is the only inhabited continent where it is believed that the inhabitants are all destitutes, live in trees, starving, war torn, pirates, fighting tigers or trying to escape to Europe through Libya. This perception is due to the fact that we don't tell our own stories or show our own beauty. And if you find it hard to believe that Racism against the black race is real. Go to UKIP and request for membership as a black man. Perhaps you haven't asked yourself why with all the great black ex-football players only Gullit(as far as I know) has been able to coach a top team in Europe. I don't know where you stay in UK but be my guest and stop any white adult on the road up North like Manchester, Liverpool or Leeds and ask them what comes to mind when they hear the word "Africa". Let's see whether you get any response outside the orbit of those I mentioned above.

God bless you for this. I wonder how Azed believes that they would show Inside Africa in the US. Most Americans have never left their city/state of birth so what do they care for Tony Elumelu in Nigeria. And even if they were lucky to see such an interview. I wonder how that translates into showing that Africa has a middle class. And a growing upper class. Its when you travel that you realise that each region has its own flavour of CNN. Its not just them. Even AlJazeera in London is very dry unlike the one we watch in Nigeria. They rarely show all the great documentaries/human interest stories that we get to watch here. The fact remains that western media make it a matter of policy never to show middle and upper class areas and buildings in Africa(with a partial exception of SA). Neither do they show skyscrapers or any of the magnificient govt buiidings in Abuja. Unfortunately OP has allowed himself to be dragged into side arguments but this assertion he made is true. You are right and the OP is not wrong. His focus is houses and environs and yours is "things". LOL

OP did not say that there has NEVER been a positive report on CNN or BBC about Africa.

The impression of most foreigners about Africa is synonymous with Tarzan. If you tell some foreigners that Range Rovers, G-Wagons and Porsche's can be found on the streets of Nigeria they will howl with disbelief. Tell them that Nigeria has the second largest sales growth of champagne globally-They will send you to the loony bin.

I won't go into what lies behind this deliberate attempt to maintain a continental image of wretchedness.
Like i said earlier the OP lied. A documentary about CCHUB was shown on CNN. If you watch inside Africa, you would see that they show a lot of positive things about Africa
I have read OP's original post 4 times trying to see whether he put his foot in his mouth by the title question or by the content of the post. I must state categorically that his position is a valid one. A question was asked "Have You Ever Seen A Well-Built African House On CNN Or BBC?"
Either you answer yes or no!
Is that so difficult??

OP says that he believes the perception of foreign nationals will be influenced by their never having seen developed areas in Africa(outside of SA, of course).

Is that so difficult to swallow or does it sound illogical?

Sounds logical to me. Neither of these stations have ever shown Maitama, Asokoro, Parkview or Banana Island. All places where the wealthy live. But as someone has said let's not use that as a yardstick. Have they ever shown Ilupeju or Yaba or Wuse? Where middle class folk live. The answer is no. Where do they show? Mushin and the slum parts of Lagos Island.

The million dollar question is where do these correspondents stay when they are in Lagos? Plush hotels like Eko Hotel or 4points by Sheraton.

I believe its disingenuous that they and the camera crew drive out of posh hotels where they sleep on feather beds and drive 30 mins or more to the slums of Lagos and set up their cameras only to end with "....reporting from Lagos". Then they pack up and drive to ikoyi or victoria island to have drinks with embassy staff in clubs that are of world class standards. Anybody that doesn't see the hypocrisy in such actions is not worth the time of day. Oh and kudos to al jazeera for when they report on Fed. Govt matters they sometimes shoot in front of the beautiful Fed. Govt buildings in Abuja. That is reporting with integrity.

PS. None of this has got a thing to do with the pervasive corruption in the land, poor leadership or the fact that Nigerians ARE suffering. It just has to do with the fact that we live in houses not trees and we drive SUV's and wear designer clothes. Just like they do in the west.

ROSSIKE: I haven't. undecided

In fact if I were to base my entire knowledge of Africa on what I see on those channels, I wouldn't believe there was a single storey building standing in the entire African continent.

No wonder when I travel abroad many people ask me questions like: ''Do you have cars in Nigeria?'' ''Do you live in proper houses there?'' ''Wow! You mean you have computers there? Phones too?? Internet! I had no idea!''

Or if they don't ask, they generally give you this condescending look that says ''we know you must be glad to escape your mud hut and lions to come out here... and we know you're not thinking of going back.''.

Quite sad really. This distorted image of the continent accounts for much of the racism and prejudice faced by Africans across the globe.

Very interesting discussion between manny and ndu chuks. I was hoping to hear from more pilots(especially commercial) and aeronautical engineers so that we could get a even more rounded perspective on what happened. Thanks to Anyanwu for shedding more light on this.

But it seems that manny and ndu chuks are attempting to blame either pilot error or lack of airworthiness respectively as the cause of the crash. Who said that it had to be mutually exclusive? It appears to me that it was a mixture of both. Eyewitness account by Feyi and his in-law said the plane was in a very poor state and the discussion in the cockpit(which AIB alluded to but refused to elaborate on) gives credence to this.

And where are the Nigerian nairaland pilots and engineers? Seems there are so few. Sad. Just like the Dana crash thread. It was a foreigner who came on the thread and was a friend of the dead pilot that gave a clear idea of what might have happened.

As to some asserting that the speed of the preliminary report's release is too fast- I would like to say that the voice recorder is just a tape that records conversations just like our phones and mp3's so what's the big deal? Even a child can listen to a conversation and report it within 5mins. Analyzing the Data Recorder is where the real work is. That will take much longer and requires real expertise.

@chinziaski

Good of you to note these first 2 points. I agree with you on those 2 and the last part of 3 but the OP pasted it from his own blog claiming that its someone he knows.

Since most people are quicker at talking than thinking they rush to start insulting and judging. Its very unlikely that the OP is telling us the truth about the origin of this story but anybody that doubts that such is not happening is rather naïve.

A few people have spoken like those with the love of God In them while the rest carry the spirit of those men who wanted to stone the woman caught in adultery before Jesus. For those holier than thou self righteous ones I have a surprise package for them straight from the bible.

Gen.20:12" And yet indeed she is my sister; she is the daughter of my father, but not the daughter of my mother; and she became my wife."

These are the words of Abraham who married his half-sister Sarai. Yes Abraham married his half-sister.

Now pls let's check out some more hidden gems

Exodus 6:20 And Amram took him Jochebed his father's sister to wife; and she bare him Aaron and Moses:

Moses who parted the Red Sea under God was a product of a marriage between a man and his maternal aunt.

Now these occurred before the law so let's see what God said about marrying cousins

Pls search through Levicticus 18- the "Incest" chapter

Nothing on marrying cousins. Its not forbidden under Abrahamic dispensation nor that of Moses'

Apparently both the Moses law on incest and the societal rejection of it may be due to genetic defects which arise in some children of such unions.

But please don't make it as if God forbids marriage between cousins. Cos u need to turn the bible inside out yet you won't find it.

So am I saying that fornication is good.

Nope. We know its biblically wrong.

The sin she is guilty of is fornication- Something which 90% of nairalanders are also guilty of- and also the sin of abortion. If you have given a babe money "to remove it"- why are you here condemning?

But what makes people react with so much venom to this story. Its probably because such people want to take their minds off their own secret sins.

A final word. Most of you have friends and colleagues from the north but what you don't know is that some are married to their cousins. Go and investigate and when you find out I dare you to pour such venom on them. wink

chinziaski: 1. The story is from a blog, probably formed like those facebook pages.

2. Read the first line, he is not the person facing the problem, why advise the wrong person.

3. Since the poster got it from a blog/wordpress, he doesn't know the people with the problem, why throw insults and advice.

Conclusion, this story is not need, pomkwem
Car TalkRe: Nissan And Stallion Nigeria Sign Assembly Deal by VULCAN(m): 9:50am On Oct 10, 2013
Its obvious most people are missing the point. The only people who will buy these brand new cars.....are the people who are ALREADY buying brand new cars.

Don't know why that is so hard for some to fathom.

And the possibilities of these cars being significantly cheaper than the current brand new is very slim due to cost of producing power and the Nigerian factor.

The beneficiaries of these car plants will be the poorly paid assembly workers, the mid level managers and the shareholders in these plants. All numbering less than 50,000. Add their dependants and the number rises to 300,000

But what of the millions who will no longer be able to afford a fairly used car?

Can anyone answer me pls.

It is a pity that you refuse to properly respond to potential customers pleading with you to post a beginners guide. It seems your only interest is selling HD decoders. Helping people understand this new industry is not your concern. It took me about 7 or 8 pages to understand that the little device where I put the simcard is what u refer to as Dongle.

Was this thread opened for you to communicate with installers only or to reach potential customers? If the latter, then why do u behave as if everybody understands all the cabletalk?

You are now condemning the older boxes and pushing everybody to get your latest HD, forgetting that you have sold probably thousands to your old customers. Is it not the same promise you must have given them about no freezing that you are giving us now on these new boxes.

I am a new purchaser but I don't understand all these terminologies as well. I will like to understand the difference between the Strong HD 4922A which I have and these new boxes. If I am satisfied I will order one from you and sell off this one. You said that the Strong 4922A is not a "real" HD pls clarify.

Always try and check the backstory to your facts. Go and watch the video of the crash. It was the tail that hit the edge of the runway. A terrible landing by the pilot. And a freak accident. I'm almost certain that crash was pilot error because he landed at the very edge of the runway which is by the sea. If not for the last gust of acceleration that passengers said he gave- the plane may have crash landed in the water instead or even worse run straight into the edge of the runway overlooking the bay

@Chibuebem

Well done. You have really tried to answer some questions on this thread. Anyone that reads with an open mind will receive some insight. Unfortunately, it may not make much sense to some so there's no sense in trying to convince them. Most people WANT to live a sinful life and in most cases to do that requires you to BELIEVE that what the bible says about sin is untrue. What's sad is that most people don't even know that the price for sin has been fully paid for by Jesus so God's requirement for justice has been completely met. Nobody will go to hell because of sin, but for rejecting God's solution for it.

Chibuebem: we inherited the sinful nature, not sin. Yes you sin by freewill. Have you sinned? Just denying anything doesn't make it so.

People thing they can make God come to their terms, but that's pride you see, and God resists the proud. Most of us are playing a dangerous game, cuz we don't know when we die and stand before God. And you stand before God guilty without Christ.
Some might trust in God's goodness, but the very thing they trust in; God's goodness and uprightness, will let them down in judgement.

For he is a holy God and cannot allow sin to go unpunished.
For the lord our God is a Consuming fire. Behold it is a FEARFUL thing to fall into the habds of almighty God.
This is plain reality.

@haibe.

It is now you are coming closer to truth Gal 2v21 says I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

So its possible for grace to be frustrated.

So don't say that because they fell they did not have grace. God's gifts can be rejected by anyone. Moses said "choose this day who you will serve". Choice is part of creation.

haibe: @VULCAN I edited my post with an atom of probability, perhaps you didn't notice it. by the way that's the not the concentration on my post, that's just a sideline, why leave the main context of the post to something unnecessary. Can you prove that they had the grace to overcome the temptation? No, its more likely they didn't, the scene alone painted the picture that they could not easily have overcomed the temptation.

We all know you cannot. Because there is no scriptural basis for such a wild claim. OK, let me accomodate you. Go and search the scriptures and come back with your findings by this time tommorrow.

I think that's being fair.

haibe: @VULCAN you did not read my post either, instead of backing your points you just keep exploding your words, I know your type, when a issue is on ground, you face the person instead of the issue itself, keep deluding yourself that you are sound theologically without backing your claims.
Christianity EtcRe: Who Sinned First, Satan Or Adam ? by VULCAN(m): 4:22pm On Sep 27, 2013
I apologise for coming across as judging you. That was not my intention. The person that marks the exam script of another cannot be "judging" them if he gives a fail grade. I asked you for scriptural backing for your assertion that Adam and Eve lacked grace. That is the foundational basis for any and every biblical discussion. To my astonishment you gave a most ambiguous answer. Nobody that has spent time in the scriptures would have given such a lackadaisical answer to their own assertion. With all the different takes on bible theology I doubt if any school can be found to teach what you are claiming. There is no shame in admitting we are wrong. We cannot be right always.

Also you actually take us many steps back from laclass's brilliant exposition on WHY God allowed the drama at eden. Granted, we may never know the whole truth about the fall till we slip into eternity, but he gave a very logical response to the enemies of Christ on that matter. But you rejected his write up saying "its all God's plan". Sorry to say but that shows paucity of thought on your part. Someone proffers a reason Why God planned the fall of man and then you go.' No its all God's plan'. Obviously you didn't read his write up thoroughly because he also implied that it was a plan but he went a step further to give a possible reason WHY. One which I have never read anywhere else. And one which will satisfy any sincerely curious mind. So how can you drag us back to "it was God's plan". So forgive me if I have gotten the impression that u r not theologically sound. It was you that gave it to me.

As I have said, there are all sorts on here, so if you are making an assertion that is not widely held then you must provide proof. I don't even advise arguing with agnostics, atheists, freethinkers or muslims because truth is never accepted via the vehicle of argument.

haibe: @VULCAN you do not have to get any emotional, what do you have against me? because I said every thing that happened in eden was planned by God?
or that christ is the source of our grace?

place your arguments lets me see what you have, give me reasons for your belief and I will give you reasons for mine, don't just start ranting all about, its a free world, there is freedom of expression, you can correct me where you think I am wrong, dont just start judging me, you do not even know me, my gosh!!

@ haibe,

Alexander Pope wrote in 1709, "A little learning is a dangerous thing"

HE was talking to u.

You have superficial knowledge of the Scriptures(which in itself is not wrong- we are all learning. From white belt to black belt is a journey)

What is wrong is you coming to a thread teeming with freethinkers and atheists and muslims and pretending that you can prove anything to them about revelatory knowledge of the Bible- When you fail to provide the most foundational confirmation of a belief you hold which you claim is scriptural.

Please go and equip yourself with sound theology so that these guys here(some of whom are very intelligent) will not take you to the cleaners and then some who are earnestly searching for The Way turn back from surrendering to Christ because they saw that you could not withstand the logic of those who are enemies of Christ. Pls leave your ego at the door. You don't use sticks to fight machine guns.
haibe: Christ is the source of grace, I see no argument here, it is evident throughout the scriptures.
Christianity EtcRe: Who Sinned First, Satan Or Adam ? by VULCAN(m): 12:35pm On Sep 27, 2013
@Laclass

Definitely the best explanation I have ever heard of why God allowed the defeat of man at Eden. Very logical as it takes into account the fact that you can't claim something is the best when there is nothing else to compare it to. There was nothing to compare God's rule with. But now it is clear to see what a world run by men who reject (or misinterpret) God's Word looks like.

laclass: To find out who committed it first i will like you to reason small with me from the scriptures and correct your insinuation my brother. This is the reason. It all started this way, When Satan led Adam and Eve into disobeying Jehovah, an important question was raised. Satan did not call into question Jehovah’s power. Even Satan knows that there is no limit to Jehovah’s power. Rather, Satan questioned Jehovah’s right to rule. By calling God a liar who withholds good from his subjects, Satan charged that Jehovah is a bad ruler. (Genesis 3:2-5) Satan implied that mankind would be better off without God’s ruler-ship. This was an attack on Jehovah’s sovereignty, his right to rule.

Adam and Eve rebelled against Jehovah. In effect, they said: “We do not need Jehovah as our Ruler. We can decide for ourselves what is right and what is wrong.” How could Jehovah settle that issue? How could he teach all intelligent creatures that the rebels were wrong and that his way truly is best? Someone might say that God should simply have destroyed the rebels and made a fresh start. But Jehovah had stated his purpose to fill the earth with the offspring of Adam and Eve, and he wanted them to live in an earthly paradise. (Genesis 1:28) Jehovah always fulfills his purposes. (Isaiah 55:10, 11) Besides that, getting rid of the rebels in Eden would not have answered the question that had been raised regarding Jehovah’s right to rule.

Let us consider an illustration. Imagine that a teacher is telling his students how to solve a difficult problem. A clever but rebellious student claims that the teacher’s way of solving the problem is wrong. Implying that the teacher is not capable, this rebel insists that he knows a much better way to solve the problem. Some students think that he is right, and they also become rebellious. What should the teacher do? If he throws the rebels out of the class, what will be the effect on the other students? Will they not believe that their fellow student and those who joined him are right? All the other students in the class might lose respect for the teacher, thinking that he is afraid of being proved wrong. But suppose that the teacher allows the rebel to show the class how he would solve the problem.
Jehovah has done something similar to what the teacher does. Remember that the rebels in Eden were not the only ones involved. Millions of angels were watching. (Job 38:7; Daniel 7:10) How Jehovah handled the rebellion would greatly affect all those angels and eventually all intelligent creation. So, what has Jehovah done? He has allowed Satan to show how he would rule mankind. God has also allowed humans to govern themselves under Satan’s guidance.

The teacher in our illustration knows that the rebel and the students on his side are wrong. But he also knows that allowing them the opportunity to try to prove their point will benefit the whole class. When the rebels fail, all honest students will see that the teacher is the only one qualified to lead the class. They will understand why the teacher thereafter removes any rebels from the class. Similarly, Jehovah knows that all honest hearted humans and angels will benefit from seeing that Satan and his fellow rebels have failed and that humans cannot govern themselves. Like Jeremiah of old, they will learn this vital truth: “I well know, O Jehovah, that to earthling man his way does not belong. It does not belong to man who is walking even to direct his step.”—Jeremiah 10:23.

Kindly provide us with two or three scriptural references that Adam and Eve lacked grace to overcome temptation. Thanks

haibe: I won't do any of the above because he has given me the grace now to overcome temptations, Adam and eve did not have this grace.

Its a fact that God is omniscient, before he created them he knew they would sin, if he did not want the action, he could have not created them but he went on to create them.

if you think it was Adam's fault that he sinned then you must think again, before he sinned God could have stopped him from sinning and thus save generations, yes God has the power to stop man from sinning but he allowed adam to sin, which begs the question, what is God's plan for mankind? .

The idea of God not wanting to interfere with Adam because of freewill is just illogical, consider it, isn't it better to create robots and save them from suffering than to create man with freewill and end up suffering, the idea of extreme freewill is an illusion, because if our will is against God's plan he won't allow the will to take place.

A typical example is the case of abimelech, have you ever wondered why God restrained him from lieing with Abrahams wife, I mean God told him "I stopped you from sinning against me", have you wondered why God interrupted his freewill? ?

My friend, every thing that happened in eden is God's plan, it could not have happened if God did not want it to happen, let us watch as God's plan for mankind unfolds, its better than putting all the blame on the helpless Adam who had no grace to overcome the tempter.

Let me dive in. Some people here are ready to lay down their life swearing that Assad used chemical weapons. But I have to ask- based on what proof?

Based on an intercepted phone call between two Syrian Army war commanders?? Intel supplied by Israel. I'm disappointed how someone will sit in front of their TV and swallow whatever CNN and Al J report.

You wanna convict me of murder cause you "claim" you have a record of a phone call between my bodyguards discussing a murder. Even in a court of law you can’t convict a man on such flimsy evidence.

It’s also interesting to note that the Germans say that the Syrian Army commanders asked for permission to use CW “9 TIMES” and were refused. That’s a story that needs to be looked into.

Permit me to attempt to put you into al-Assad’s mind.

I am al-Assad. I have been fighting the rebels for 1 and half years. They are being funded by Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the US. None of whom can provide military support for obvious reasons.

Then suddenly from out of the blue the President of the US announces that the use of CW is a “red line” that I should not cross. My enemy has spoken. He has just informed me of the ONLY circumstance that will allow him to intervene militarily because he needs an excuse before his people who are war weary.

Then a year later, the day after I receive UN inspectors to Syria.......

…….I use CW to kill 1,400 people ,100km away from where the UN inspectors are.

Really? Really, REALLY, I give the ONLY one of my enemies who can take me down in a matter of months the very reason he needs to come in and do that.

REALLY!!!!

REALLY!!!!!!

REALLY!!!!!!!!!!!
HealthRe: Please Any Remedy For Stammering by VULCAN(m): 5:43pm On Sep 14, 2013
The root of stammering is anxiety or excitement. I used to stammer but I have banished it now. It may come up once or twice a year though. I noticed that it occured when I was agitated and wanted to get my point across. How you can conquer it for your interview is to run a mental movie of the interview over and over and over in your mind. See them asking you questions and see yourself answering them with confidence. Hear the words they speak and run the interview till you stand up smiling and walk out. This will load you with confidence. What I am saying is not child's play, you must run the interview at least 10 times in your mind and all anxiety will drain away. I used this technique once and I had 4 out of 5 interviewers eating out of my hands. They were even asking me whether they could afford to pay me.

To undesrstand what is REALLY behind all these war drums requires a mind free from CNN and Al J influence. One must spend time on the net. Everything is laid bare for anyone who is ready to do the research.

Hi ClassyGlory

Chistar has shown his humility by asking us from page 1 for criticism. He did not ask us to pm him. Also other budding writers are here so we can all benefit from open corrections.

Thanks

Christianity EtcRe: Are There Additional Benefits Attached To Midnight Prayer? by VULCAN(m): 7:50pm On Aug 13, 2013
This has to be one of the best responses to OP"s enquiry. Quoting copious scriptures alone is not enough. Jesus taught more in stories and analogies than he did quoting the old testament.

And for those of you arguing with Anti-Christ's. Ur on a looong tin. The Good News is not spread by arguments. Some people have vested interest in not accepting Christianity and It has little to do with the lack of logic. The same people that try to sound all logical cannot explain why Love is not logical. Neither can they explain why Fear is not logical. Or is there anything logical in a 38 year old female CEO of a million dollar business who commands an organisation of perhaps 200 people screaming at the sight of a little spider that lands on her hand?

Any one who has studied quantum mechanics knows that logic alone is over rated in explaining life. There is nothing "logical" about the behaviour of sub-atomic particles.

mic foley: My brother, many thanks for raising this very important topic. I am also very happy with the very enlightening responses cos it is obvious most people are speaking from personal experiences. What I would like to add is that night time is a great time to HEAR FROM GOD! As a teenager I attended a night vigil some mths after writing UME. We prayed, sang praises and shared bible verses. At abt 3a.m. a number of us were sleepy. The priest suddenly came out and woke everyone up saying this was the time we needed to pray the most. He urged us to specifically ask for what we wanted at that moment. I asked GOD for admission into university. I got a clear revelation that I wld get admission , but not in the school I was hoping, becos God had a better plan for me. I didn't fully grasp the revelation then. All my efforts in terms of meeting people who could help went into my University of first choice. Few mths later I got my admission letter to read my chosen course at my 2nd choice university.
I will be grateful to God all my life for this miracle.
Since then I have had many similar experiences when praying at night. I encourage everyone to take time out to pray at night/ early morning hours so as to LISTEN to GOD.
