Here's what happened:

1. The 4 DSS operatives came in a white hilux pick-up truck, 3 wearing the standard issue DSS vests with "DSS" clearly printed in white, the officer in charge wearing civvies.

2. They walked to the phone shops and and warned everyone NOT TO MOVE!

3. The victim started to run, the officer yelled at one of the operatives to shoot, and he did. People took to their heels.

4. The victim was shot in the stomach. The DSS operatives grabbed him, still alive and in pains, and tried placing him on the back seats, he collapsed and they then ingloriously dumped him in the back, still writhing in pain.

5. The soldiers guarding Jos DISCO tried to intervene but the DSS operatives pushed them away, then drove off.

6. The angry IPOB youths selling phones and accessories started protesting, blocking Ahmadu Bello Way and challenging motorists.

7. SOme soldiers came along in 2 trucks and tried talking sense to trhe IPODS, but they refused to pipe down.

8. More troops and an APC came along before later the situation calmed down a bit.

9. As at now there are soldiers and the APC still at the scene, but life is going on as normal.
