texazzpete: Hmm...you compared specs, huh?Apple A6 found to have custom Apple Core instead of A15 or A9 17 September, 2012 | When Apple announced the iPhone 5, the only details they revealed about the new processor was that it was called the A6 and that it was twice as fast as the older one in GPU as well as the GPU. Rumors started circulating shortly afterwards that Apple was seemingly using the brand new ARM Cortex A15 cores for the CPU, being the first in the industry to do so. Turns out, that's not the case after all. Thanks to some super sleuthing by AnandTech, it has now been revealed that Apple is neither using the new A15 nor the older A9. Instead, Apple has chosen to go with a custom design based on the armv7s architecture instead of licensing a specific core like the A9 or the A15. This is similar to what Qualcomm does for its CPUs, such as the Scorpion or the Krait, which are based on the ARM architecture but use Qualcomm's custom core. This move would give Apple greater control over the size, performance and the power consumption of the new chip, something you can achieve better with a custom chip than off-the-shelf ones. As for the GPU, things are still fuzzy at the moment but AnandTech is guessing it could be the PowerVR SGX543MP3, a faster version of the SGX543MP2 used in the A5. It's unlikely Apple would have gone for the PowerVR SGX543MP4 used on the A5X, due to its large size and higher power consumption. Besides, that GPU is way more than just twice as fast as the 543MP2. Things should become clearer once the devices start shipping and people start running benchmarks on them. We'll keep you posted if anything new comes up. |
the new iphone might not be a lot of things spec-wise, but it is definitely not a cheap plastic |
@OP, just blind copy and paste is not cool...you could have spent a few minutes formatting your post properly...a few press of delete and enter buttons is all you needed |
kejisept25: With all dose Instant message apllications listed above,Itz @ threat cos, I personally, see it as a sin to send SMS using moneyi totally agree with you on this. its just a mindless waste of money to keep in touch via sms...i even waste free sms that the carriers give because i forget to use them.. i have whatsapp, BBM, gtalk, yahoo messenger, fabcebook, twitter, skype etc. if you're less than 50yrs old and i need to be in touch with you but you're not on any of those social platforms, there's something definitely wrong with you |
BB is a solid enterprise device. it was built originally for business uses and offered zero entertainment or fun factor if you know what you are doing and you are business minded, with just a BB and absolutely no laptop or desktop around you, you can keep in touch with your business associates all over the world as if you are working from your office. no other smartphone gives you that level of dexterity, security and robustness when there's no PC around. you can churn out solid business proposals with text and graphics on the go. you can stay on top of all your emails no matter how many email addresses and which server is hosting those email addresses most people started being able to use BB when the company started releasing general end-user friendly versions which was heralded by the release of the BBM that most people now talk about. when the BB10 is released next year, the BB will be at par in terms of fun and entertainment as you currently get on androids and iphones |
been using Whatsapp for over a year and i have 3 numbers i switch BB and data plans on...none has been cut off. i noticed they shifted my expiry date forward to 2013 from June 2012 after i recommended the app using the 'tell a friend' feature in the app under SETTINGS menu. ![]() |
this is so old news and the app has been removed by most carriers in the developed world where this was an issue besides, gsm providers in nigeria will not use tis type of app sef |
you dont need to visit any airtel office. just call customer service and complain that your data connection is erratic and u want to find out if there's a problem in your area. i will say you do a reset on your device...(pull out the battery without switching off the phone), wait a few seconds and put it back. the problem might just be poor data coverage where you are |
there's no speculation about it and i hear a sim cutter is beginning to show up that can be used to convert existing micro and normal sim to nano sim |
lol...i bet they ripped you off to the tune of N1000 to give you that microsim? that's what they did to me when i brought my S3 to naija. annoying part is that they even cut the sim manually ![]() |
nice collection. a few of these tips are dated and not valid for ICS but still very useful for older flavors of Android. awesome job all the same |
Lord_Reed: Why do you think so?why i think so? why don't we compare the galaxy note to the Blackberry playbook, Apple iPad(s), Motorola Xoom(s), Samsung Galaxy Tab(s) or Acer Iconia and all the other tablets on the market? the next question is, is Samsung Note a tablet? the straight answer to that is NO...so why compare it to a tablet? there are a few PHABLETS out there that the Galaxy Note can be compared and that is where the OP should be guided |
you can download 2 operating systems to a playbook so i assume you meant you tried to download 2 apps to your playbook using a public wifi in a sch? downloads fail and there could be a lot of reasons for that. its really nothing strange and its nothing to worry about i have been using a playbook for more than a year and i have connected to any and every wifi available in many places without any problem. if the guy at glo doesn't want to sell you his wifi device, go to another carrier that's his loss but be clear in your mind that your playbook will connect to any and every wifi. get someone around you who is more tech savvy to help you out...its possible the download is failing cos you're not doing something right |
you should compare things that are one or the other e.g. comparing a Toyota Camry and a Honda Accord is a reasonable comparison. both do the same thing so if you get one, you dont really need to get the other unless you just want to for the sake of it iPhone and iPad should not be compared with each other because they do essentially different things. having an iPhone doesnt mean you dont need to get an iPad Android is an operating system, not a device many manufacturers use it to run their phones. so you should be comparing android/iOS/BBOS/Belle/Metro etc refer to my camry/accord example above |
4llerbuntu: are'nt those FRAND patents?the particular patents in this case are not part of the FRAND patents |
http://crackberry.com/isheep-action pls take note the number of people in this video holding at least an iPhone4 ![]() |
ahmedgafar7: You can't compare blackberry playbook with galaxy note .the note is way in frontyou're most definitely wrong...the galaxy note and Blackberry playbook are two different animals that are not even supposed to be compared |
talk of comparing mangoes with apple, apple pie, pineapple and spaghetti |

amblors: I have a friend that has the same problem, and the deductions occurs when the phone browser is used. Yes I'm subscribed to BISthen maybe you're on a package that does not include internet browsing....there are many people using 9900 on MTN and other networks so your problem definitely has nothing to do with the device itself....the complaints i have heard of are related to browsing with the opera mini browser on etisalat which also results in credit deduction by that carrier your best option is to call the customer service and find out whats going on |
awesome...thanx |
MODERATORS!!!! pls close this thread for various violations chief of which is spreading false information |
code9: Today i saw a lady with BB bold 5, iPhone4s and a small Nokia phone. I think NCC should start doing something to mitigate the cause of multiple phone carriage. The side effects of radiation from multiple phones could be disastrous and may have serious health implications in the long run. I may be wrong thoughyou didn't answer my question...are you a foreigner visiting Nigeria for the first time? if you are a Nigerian, then maybe you were born outside naija and this is your first visit home? pls confirm |
the 4 major carriers are all on 3.5 to 3.75G. proximity to a base station and congestion are responsible for your end user experience. determine the network with the better signal for the place you use your data the most and use that network |
sososweet: i misplaced my blackberry porsche and the pin is 2AA0f7A7 please how can i recover it the person is not accepting any of my old contact, thanks . you'll get a like when you drop the trick for easy starter ![]() |
jp philips: MTN launched 2g networks and sold a phone called SENDO accustomed to their SIM, Glo came and launched 2g with Alcatel same way MTN did theirs.you're just another brainless troll. you cannot even string together a logical story....how many people buy the overpriced phones the carriers are selling? i really should not be wasting my time with a little boy like you. you're not worth it |
