Is the minimum wage in Nigeria anywhere close to what is obtainable in the developed countries? Is the economy as at today, buoyant enough for people to be able to afford these exorbitant taxes? You don't just wake up one day from your bed like a drunkard and slam exorbitant taxes on people, and expect them to pay. You have a point here. As an expert in urban development it necessary for Lagos manager not to throw caution to wind because they want mega city. No city can sustain itself without support from hinterland. There is a theory we call Walter Crysterler theory of city hinterland interelationships. Unfortunately we have leaders who believe in Island of prosperity amidst ocean of poverty. Tall and handsome, Graham, an ordained Southern Baptist minister, cut a charismatic figure as an evangelical preacher whose huge rallies found audiences on radio and television.
He preached to a long line of US presidents, from Harry Truman to Barack Obama, and was featured in the recent mini series “The Crown” as a spiritual adviser to the young Queen Elizabeth II.

ofegge73: Good evening Nairalanders, I have no idea how to go about making this as clear as possible, but truth is I married a stranger. I met this Lady in 2012,we became friendly, and talked on consistently. At the time she was on NYSC in Ikom cross River State. By the way she is from Obosi in Anambra state. She was visiting me in Lagos every week, of course I paid for her flight tickets back and forth for all the times she visited till we got married and beyond. I have never let her use the bus or public transport to anywhere, it's either I drive her, she drives or a taxi. A few months to her passing out, she told me she was pregnant, so I thought I would marry her and cut the drama short, but that was my undoing. We got married, but all through, she spent more time with her parents and siblings. Fast forward to 2016,my wife got a job through my sister in Abuja, and everything got worse, she wouldn't get back home till very late everyday. Her explanation was that her boss delayed her. I got to find out she was dating her boss later, even caught her at hotels in ikeja G. R,.A and on the island with her boss at very odd hours of the night. Don't get me wrong, I am okay, I live in a 5 bedroom duplex in ikeja, the house is very comfortable and cosy, and almost completing my personal building at awoyaya in ibeju. i am not a poor man. Well, she gave birth to my first child a boy, but insisted on C. S, then my daughter, through C. S too. All were elective! She wouldn't come back home, and spent more time at her parents than in our home, always saying she needs herMum to watch the kids, while she is out, we got maids, but she was so violent with them, they all left. Fast forward to 2017,i asked my wife to come back home, she refused, well I told her the marriage wouldn't work anymore,as she wasnt living with me for the past two years. She immediately went and petitioned me at office of the Public defender in Lagos State citing domestic violence, irresponsibility as to my kids and stuff, I have always provided food, toiletries, medicals,as well as pay my children's school fees till this minute. But she teamed up with her Mum and brother to make up so many fabrications because they demanded I pay a stipend to them every month, and I said no, I won't do that, your daughter, my wife is in your house cos she wants to be there, not because I sent her away or anything like that. Her father is the only person who is sane, but the man is a pensioner and can't help himself much, so she treats him with intimidation She reported me to the police and all agencies you can think of, well at last they conducted their investigations and found out she was telling lies. I am no more interested in keeping her, and she has vowed that I can't divorce her or I die, but my kids are the issue now. I need sound advice on how to go about this. Please no mockery, I am in dire need of good advice. Thanks. What you need at this point is to take a break: then focus on the children: shift your focus off her as if she doesn't exist free yourself from bitterness by forgiving her, accept responsibility for your situation, reassess essence of life and identify life's priority, identify your divine purpose by either accepting Christ or rededicating yourself to him, thus peace of God beyond human understanding shall be yours. May God help you. Amen. |

PrettyCrystal: The serial and notorious killer, Adeola Williams, alias Ade Lawyer, who was arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police’ (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT) - has been paraded at the Lagos state police command. Touted to be the most notorious assassin in the southwest region, Williams was arrested alongside his accomplice, Rafiu Olorunwa Akanni, aka Olorunwa, a former Lagos NURTW boss, who hired him.
The suspect, said to be responsible for the death of a member of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Ganiyu Ayinla, at Lagos Island on January 23, was arrested on Wednesday in Akure, Ondo State.
Following the death of Ayinla, a massive manhunt was launched and the IRT, led by ACP Abba Kyari, caught Williams in their dragnet.
According to the police, Ade Lawyer had been on its wanted list for over five years following his involvement in several assassinations in the South West.
Former NURTW boss, Rafiu Akanni alias Olorunwa, allegedly contracted the assassin to kill his rival, Azeez Lawal.
Police said Ade Lawyer confessed that he was paid N500,000 to execute the job. He, however, missed the target and killed Lawal’s personal assistant, Ayinla. Police said Lawal miraculously escaped the assassination attempt on him with bullet wounds.
He also mentioned many other victims he assassinated in the past which included Hamburger, a union chairman in Oshodi, Babajide Dosumu aka Mados in Ebute Meta, Salawe in Ajah, Ganiyu Asaro and four others in Badore where he said he spread bullets in their car and killed the five occupants.

Those who choose to leave by the end of March are being offered a cash incentive of $3,500.
The plan has drawn criticism from the United Nations' refugee agency as well as some in Israel, including Holocaust survivors who say the country has a special duty to protect migrants.
Eritreans at Holot say Rwanda and Uganda hold no prospects for them, and they'd rather be imprisoned in Israel than embark on another journey into the unknown.
At a detention centre in Israel's Negev desert, African migrants facing deportation say they would rather be imprisoned than sent to a country they know nothing about.
"I won't go there," Abda Ishmael, a 28-year-old Eritrean, said in excellent Hebrew outside Holot, an open facility housing some 1,200 migrants and set to be shut down on April 1 as part of the government's expulsion policy.
"Guys who were here and went to Rwanda and Uganda -- we saw what happened to them."
Israel is working to expel thousands of Eritreans and Sudanese who entered illegally over the years, giving them an ultimatum: leave by April 1 or risk being imprisoned indefinitely.
As the migrants could face danger or imprisonment if returned to their homelands, Israel is offering to relocate them to an unnamed third country, which aid workers say is Rwanda or Uganda.

Lafiyasabiat: The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Samsung Electronics Africa, Mr. Sung Yoon, on Thursday disclosed that manufacturing a mobile phone required about 400 different components, none of which is available in Nigeria.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists in Lagos, he stated that another reasons Samsung Electronics could not establish a manufacturing plant in Nigeria is because the company’s market share in the country is not big enough.
Yoon pointed out that though Samsung was the leading consumer electronics company in Nigeria, its share of the Nigerian market is smaller to South Africa’s.
He said that the company’s smartphones market size in South Africa is 80 per cent, but is lower in Nigeria...

This is not to say generation that had dealt with colonial masters were evil but have had their self perception dehumanized and as such lost self confidence that they can do it without the help of their master. This explains why they keep running cap in hand abroad for aids, importation, technical consultations etc. They should allow generation who has not experienced inferiority complex of colonialism take charge and we shall see wonders. |

Vibesking: Throughout my teenage years I never indulged in anything that is remotely considered as youthful exuberances. No parties.. No hangouts.. No rebellion.. No fun.. No girls.
I'm what you'll consider as a pretty decent kid. Been always studious and devote. I felt those stuff were distractions and a waste of time. so I was always buried in books and church activities.
I thought being uptight and serious would make me "successful" . Unfortunately.... It appears I might have been wrong. I see my friends who practically live in orgies and revelries enjoy life and still have things work fine for them. So I guess screw seriousness!
Recently I've been having a strange feeling of emptiness. I read up some books and most suggested that lack of love/companionship can be a major reason for feelings of emptiness.
It then dawned on me that I've never asked a girl out in my entire life. I've never dated. I never thought it was a big deal and I pretty enjoy my company alone. I assumed I'll get a girl when am ready for marriage. But hey... I don't even know if I'll be alive that long (tomorrow isn't guaranteed).
I've recently been feeling very lonely .. do you think it's a problem I've never experienced relationship with a girl at my age? I'll be 23 next year.
I don't care about intimacy cus you can easily get that without dating no body.
Constructive suggestions please Relax son, my first girl friend is now my wife and that was at above thirty. May be you are special vessel for God. Shalom. |

zakim: Dr Boboye Oyeyemi, Corps Marshal of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says plans are underway to compel traffic offenders to pay one hundred thousand naira as penalty for a traffic offence.
Oyeyemi said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sideline of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on Nigeria Road Safety Strategy on Wednesday in Abuja.
“You cannot arrest somebody for using a phone while driving and he pays four thousand naira as penalty. And almost immediately he goes back to commit same offence.
“Fines are supposed to serve as deterrent, which is why I said that I am in support of what the National Assembly is doing presently amending the Act of the FRSC to make the fines go up.
“I was not the one that initiated it, it is the National Assembly that initiated it and I am in support and I will make sure that before the middle of next year this is passed into law.
“I believe that by the time traffic offenders’ start paying between fifty to one hundred thousand naira for a single traffic offence, they will not want to commit such offence again,” he said.
The FRSC boss reiterated that penalties for traffic offences were to serve as deterrent, adding that the present regime of fines and penalties do not serve as deterrent.

Crime › Re: How I Escaped Death From Ritualists – 200Level KWASU Student Narrates Her Ordeal by waldigit: 6:11am On Dec 14, 2017 |
Oluwolex2000: Source - .COM
A 200-level female student of the Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, Dorcas Oluwatimilehin Olanrewaju, has recounted her ordeal at the hands of ritualists and how she narrowly escaped death.
According to sources, the lady was heard being interrogated by the security personnel believed to have visited her Omu-Aran family residence after her release last Friday morning.
Dorcas who is the daughter of the chairman, Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kwara State Council, Mr. Layi Olanrewaju.
She recalled that she left her off-campus hostel at about 11:16 a.m. last Thursday, after picking up her course registration form but could not find a commercial motorcycle to convey her back to campus.
According to her, in the process of trying to get an alternative transportation, she flagged down an Ilorin-colour painted taxi which unknown to her was being operated by ritualists.
Noting that she was the only KWASU student in the cab, Dorcas further narrated that two passengers occupied the front seat while she was the third passenger at the back. She added that no sooner had the taxi taken off than a female co-passenger sitting next to her complained of cold and requested that the side glass be wound up.
“I became unconscious afterwards,” said the victim, stressing that she regained consciousness in the den of ritualists in the evening of the fateful day.
Dorcas said she was blindfolded and driven to an unknown location, where she met 12 other victims – male and female.
“We were kept in a room. When they touched me, the woman said I was not pure… They started touching my body with some things and the woman said they should go and keep me somewhere, that they don’t need me now, that I’m in my period and it is not the time they need people who are menstruating,”
“I think around 2:00 a.m., one of them called me and started asking me questions. He said where am I from, and that do I know what I was doing there? I said ‘no,’ that ‘I just found myself here’ and that ‘I was supposed to be in school writing my exam.’ At times, they (the ritualists) speak in Hausa but it was not audible.
“They would stay by the door and later open the door and talk. And sometimes, they would come inside and just parade and go. When I got there, we were 13 but I left five people there. The man told me that I should not worry, that he would not allow them to touch me. So, he took me out and that was when I knew we were in a compound. He covered my face and locked me up in the boot. I knew they entered the car and were talking about Ekiti State.
They dropped me around 5.00a.m. “…I knew when we got somewhere, I was almost losing consciousness and the man said he had forgotten to put water in the radiator and he came to the boot, took me out and told me to go.
“I didn’t know I was in Omu-Aran. It was when I started walking around 5:00 a.m. and I got to the roundabout (close to First Bank) before I realised that I was in Omu-Aran.”
If they took people out, it was their screaming that we would hear. I wrapped my school ID card in my back pocket and did not leave any trace that I had a phone on me.”
Her friend’s account
Her course mate who resides on campus (name withheld), said they were together at the College of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), where their department (Mass Communication) is domiciled, until around 10:00 a.m. on the fateful day when she left for her off-campus accommodation to pick up her course registration form, which she forgot.
She said after waiting for her call some 30 minutes later, she looked around for her without success.
“After the examination, I went everywhere searching for her, still without any breakthrough. So, I later went to my hostel to see if she was waiting for me there. I also had to go down to her hostel but didn’t see her either. I asked her hostel mates the same thing. I didn’t want to call home, so that her parents would not panic, as I was anxiously waiting for her call.
“Around 6:54 p.m. I saw a text message that she has been kidnapped and that I should call her brother and inform him. Immediately I called her brother, they came to Malete that night. After I saw the message, I went to Safety Unit to report and the Safety Unit called the police station (in Malete) to report it.
“She said she was the only one (student) in the taxi. A female ritualist was beside her and that was the woman she said was feeling cold.
“At about 1:16 a.m. the following day, we were still communicating because they didn’t know she had the phone on her and I was asking her the situation of things and she said somebody called her out and was asking where she was from and she told them she was from Omu-Aran. So, in the morning, I sent her a text message asking her the situation of things but she didn’t reply. I was even scared but the message delivered. That means the phone was still on.”
“When they called her, she was even thinking that it was her turn, but they took her inside the car and drove her to Omu-Aran and dropped her in front of her father’s house,” the friend said.
KWASU insists only one student kidnapped, released
Apparently trying to put the incident in its correct perspective, KWASU management has clarified that only one student was kidnapped, as against the conflicting figures in some media reports. Speaking through its Director, Office of the University Relations, Dr Isiaka Aliagan, the university management said, “We don’t know where people get the statistics they are bandying about. To the knowledge of the university, we only have one student who was kidnapped but she was eventually released.”
Stressing that security has been beefed up within and outside the campus since the incident, the Aliagan said KWASU would stop at nothing to protect its students.
Aliagan, who stated that the kidnapped female student has since been reunited with her family, challenged anyone with contrary facts and figures to make them public instead of disparaging the university.
“Aside the victim, none of our students or staff has been reported missing,” he insisted.
The university spokesman, however, assured parents, guardians, and other stakeholders that security operatives were making efforts to track down the perpetrators and guard against a recurrence of such incident.
He said the University Safety Unit, in collaboration with security operatives, has intensified its patrol operations to protect lives and properties of students, staff, and visitors to the institution.
“Management wishes to urge students to be security conscious, to patronise only registered transport and to report strange persons or movements around their hostels and campus,” he advised.
Mr Layi Olabrewaju, Dorcas’father also spoke to Newsmen
He said ;
“What can I say again? I thank God for everything. It’s all about answered prayers. So, we thank God. Sure, it was an harrowing experience. I won’t want any parent to have it at all. She’s quite young for that kind of bad experience. She shows expression of shock like that sometimes when she remembers what she passed through. All the same we thank God for His protection and blessings in our lives.
“I appreciate the management of the school, colleagues of my daughter, the DSS, Police and other agencies and individuals for their prayers, efforts, and support. All have performed creditably well in ensuring her freedom. The family will still need their prayers for her to get over the trauma fast.
“I also want the school to improve security around the students to discourage future occurrence. Nothing should be left out to achieve this,” he pleaded.

Crime › Re: "I Am Rich With Over $5m, But It’s A Hell On Earth For Me" - Ghanaian Yahoo Boy by waldigit: 6:13am On Dec 11, 2017 |
slimjaney: Three Ghanaian guys made shocking confessions on what they have involve themselves in just to be wealthy.
In an interview with the Daily Graphic, they opened up about their wealth and the source of it.
They said they have millions of dollars in the bank, some of which they have used to buy the latest cars, build costly mansions and acquire many good things of life.
However, they confessed that their lives are characterised by pain and sorrow because of ritual sacrifices they have to perform every month.
One of them, Abudu, 34, said although he has over $2 million dollars in his account and a six-bedroom mansion at Kasoa in the Central Region, his life is miserable, because every five weeks, the spiritualist who made him wealthy orders him to perform a task.
He said the “easiest” of the tasks is to sleep with 70 dark-skinned girls in a month and take their vagina fluids to the spiritualist.
According to him, he feels lucky each time he gets such a task, because the other tasks are unimaginable, and if he refuses to obey, he will suffer grave consequences.
For example, Abudu said two months prior to the interview, he was in a restaurant eating when the spiritualist ordered him to sleep with his sister as his monthly task.
He refused the order, and as a consequence, he developed skin rashes all over his body for over two months.
He took off his jacket, revealing a hidden foam, which was soaked with fluids from the sores on his back. The sores were also emitting a nasty smell, according to the reporter who did the interview.
To mask the smell, Abudu uses strong-scented perfumes.
His friends, Samson and George (not their real names) also shared how they got involved in sakawa, saying that they had sacrificed two babies that were a day old as part of the initiation ceremony.
“I want to stop. I want to give all I have away and just have my peace of mind. It is tough,” George said
The three men said they wanted to quit, but it appears impossible, because three of their friends have died after failing to perform tasks laid out by the spiritualist.
How Abudu got involved
Abudu stated that a childhood friend at Swedru in the Central Region introduced him to the practice five years prior to the interview.
He said the friend, Kudu (not his real name) had been doing Sakawa for over eight years and was madly rich, with over $5 million dollars in his bank account.
At a time many young people were struggling to make a living, he said, Kudu had a four bedroom mansion with a swimming pool and a wine bar.
Kudu also had a mansion in Takoradi and another one in Tema.
Abudu said apart from the poor life he was living, the wealth and ostentation displayed by his friend lured him into Sakawa.
He initially started with internet fraud and after months of cultivating clients online, he defrauded a Ukrainian woman of $2000.
He said the money realised from the practice was not enough for the "big man" kind of life he wanted, so he went into the proper sakawa that involved rituals and sacrifices.
He said before getting involved in sakawa, he was not told about the mandatory sacrifices he had to perform every five weeks.
Initiation
For his initiation, Abudu slept in a coffin at midnight for three weeks, after which he was given a liquid potion to smear on his body every day for a period of three months.
“Finally, I was instructed to sleep with four girls in a day and deliver their pants to the spiritualist,” he said.
When he was asked what happened to those girls, Abudu said he did not know because, “I was told not to ask questions.”
He said he was also made to perform what he called the “ultimate sacrifice”. However, he refused to discuss what it meant or entailed.
He said four months after the rituals and the “ultimate sacrifice”, he became insanely rich, with over $2 million dollars in his bank account.
A living hell
Abudu said after over two years of performing the monthly sacrifices, he was tired and frustrated and wanted a way out.
“Today you will be ordered to do this; tomorrow you will be asked to do something unimaginable. It’s a hell on earth for me,” he lamented.
To compound matters for him, Abudu said his friend who introduced him to Sakawa fell seriously ill after failing to perform a mandatory task he was given.
“He has sores all over his body and a big boil in his anus. He is really suffering,” he said.
When asked what he would do to free himself from the sakawa scourge, Abudu replied, “I don’t know.”

Because Mary the mother of the so called Jesus is the most foolish woman on earth to allow an evil spirit in disguise called holy spirit to impregnate her.
What pains me most is that the evil spirit deceive her with just sweet words like Hail mary, full of grace, The lord is with you, blessed art thou thy among women and blessed is the is thy fruit of their womb, just this words ooh she foolishly betrayed her husband and committed adultery. She must be very very insane. So what there are trying to say now, that Mary was a virgin when she got pregnant, then my mother is also a virgin. Greene66: If Jesus ever existed:
1. Crucifixion cannot kill a person: Infact, a person can live nailed to a wooden object for up to 5 days. The person would most likely go into shock and stay unconscious due to the severe pain and a few loss of blood. However, it is not enough to kill at least not that fast.
2. No major arteries in the palm of our hand: Crucifixion does not slice the wrist or neck does it? NO! Just a nail to the cross through the palm of your hand! So the blood loss would not be major to cause death
3. The early Romans were ignorant and could not differentiate between "Shock", "Coma", "Unconsciousness", and "Death" so they assumed Jesus died meanwhile he only went into shock. Why didn't they remove his head and mount it on the cross? I bet he won't come back from that
4. Jesus recuperated and healed in the tomb like anyone else would! Then he claimed he resurrected. Now that is a big scam!
---
Jesus loved himself and wanted to live afterall, the bible claims that he prayed to god to deliver him. Why? He did not want to die! So he most likely just fainted and healed like a normal person and claimed resurrection.
---
Most of all, A SACRIFICE IS NO LONGER A SACRIFICE IF YOU COME BACK TO LIFE. LET US PRETEND JESUS DIED! BUT HE CAME BACK! SO THE SACRIFICE WAS POINTLESS. WHAT MAKES A SACRIFICE IS LOSS, PAIN, & SUFFERING. JESUS DID NOT LOSE. HE CAME BACK. SO IT ISNT A SACRIFICE. A REAL SACRIFICE IS WHEN YOU DIE FOR SOMEONE AND STAY DEAD! WHY CAN'T OUR SOLDIERS WHO DIE FOR US IN BATTLE COME BACK TO LIFE? WHERE IS THE VALUE?
So it is all a scam! Jesus did not die on any cross. I doubt he ever existed sef Jesus loves you so much. Trust me. just try him. |
