TravelRe: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by WaleCanada: 10:21pm On Oct 01, 2019
Hello friends, happy independence and a favorable new month ahead. I'll be a permanent resident in a couple of weeks. My question goes thus;

My first degree is chemistry education (Bsc ed). I taught for a couple of months before securing a job in broadcasting. Then i had an MBA and the education degree has been relegated to the background since then.

However, a friend told me teaching jobs are quite lucrative in canada and its a plus for me. I'd like to confirm how true that is from peeps that have already landed, and if that's the case, are there any documents/certifications/memberships that would be advisable i secure here in naija before crossing to canadahuh

I have come back to fulfil my promise. made IELTS on the second sitting.

I refer to this post today and say, to the glory of God, I'm over 50days post AOR. The lord that started this will definitely finish it. The POF issue was miraculously sorted by God Himself. He showed up for me and surprised me bountifully, in record time, i must say.

Thanks to everyone for your inputs.

And today, i declare, that i will refer to this post again and announce my PPR soonest. it shall end in praise.

Thanks you so much. Do I also need to get reference letter from the second firm although am not going to use it to gain points for work experience. Or just mentioning it will suffice.

Please elders in the house, during my service year, I got a job for another firm although I was privilege I would say. And now I want to apply for PR Canada and adding my NYSC year, I will get point for 3years work experience.
I once applied for UK Visa which was refused and I used the Second job I got during that time as my place of work.
Do I need to mention this second firm I worked with while filling the immigration form in my personal history since I don't not intend to use it to claim work experience? And not including it does not leave any gap in my personal history.

Please I need advice.
Mention it in your personal history.

Hi, im in need of more information.
I sent money to someone I met here for WAEC process. I want to know how long it takes for it to get to WES. . Cos she initially told me 3 days but it's been past a week and nothing yet in my WES account. .so I further complained to her and she said it take 3-5 weeks for processing of the result then 3 days to WES.
I truly don't understand that. . What is WAEC processing really!!!!
Who is she and what's her nairaland handle?

TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program - Connect Here Part 8 by WaleCanada:
Hello all,

There's something bothering me that id like to share with the house. First to get a closure on it if possible and then for others to learn too. I'm Post ITA and I intend to submit my application before July ending hopefully.

My major issue here is the exchange rates. Initially, it used to be 269 or so, and going by that it'd be 3.4mil for a single applicant. I was working with that and targeting 3.5mil so that anyhow e be, I'd be on a safer side.

This morning I woke up to discover its been up to 277,20 on xe and oanda. That means I'd be looking at 3.5mil and if I still want to go ahead with having a little surplus, that's abt 3.6mil. Way way higher than my initial plan.

This made me do some additional research and I read somewhere that when u submit after ita, the POF is locked on the exchange rate for that day and whatever subsequent increase or decrease in the rates, won't affect what you had tendered on day of submission. I was skeptical abt this but decided to ask how true it is.

I also want to ask a very funny question. If resident in Nigeria, is there a way one can open a special account such that you'd save money IN CANADIAN CURRENCY there. So for example, I safe 12,700 there as a single applicant, so whatever change hpns in the exchange market does not affect my fund, after all its already in CAD? That way, only a review in POF margins can affect my fund atleast while application is been processed.

Finally, my salary acct is with stanbic Bank and I have no intentions of using it for funding? Do I still need to submit statement for the salary account? Event hough its not been used for POF purpose? Same thing applies to my stanbic pension acct. Is there a need to show that too?

Please let me re-ask my question in full:

Hi guys! Please I need to know if WES also requires one’s certificate along with the transcript. I only have the transcript for my MBA but I have not yet been issued a certificate and might not receive it till next year. How will this work? Thank you.
I think your statement of result would work. Im not sure though. Probably have to wait for the Gurus in the house to comment on this.

My 1kobo though.

Congrats. Was it MOD or BC??

As per payment, why not do that using your master card.??

you can arrange both anytime but its usually advised you get PCC once u get ITA because it has 6months validity while its stated on it that its 3 months.

reference letter can be arranged down too but ensure your ITA will come in this year,

All the best.

2. No validity period for reference letters.

If you are certain you'd get ITA soon, then you can start gathering your documents now.
Thanks papi

Hello Friends,

I want to ask a question on these two documents:

1. Police clearance certificate
2. Reference letter from Employer.

Is there any time frame for the above mentioned documents? i mean, is there a validity period? is it possible that one got it too early? For example, i'm yet to secure ITA but I'm thinking of arranging for them already.

Please help clarify.

Hello Friends,

Been a little bit active via my other account, but I'll be very active with this one going forward. Big congratulations to the PPR clinchers. I can imagine how you feel. I pray i feel that way too soonest grin grin.

I'm here for this Journey. No going back. No retreat. It will definitely end in praise. Lots of unaswered questions - POF one of the. But i serve a Miracle working God; and He will miraculously raise it for me. I will refer to this post SOON and say "God finally did it".

Today i sent my Transcript to WES via DHL. Felt good about it. I'm making progress.

WAEC stuffs were sent yesterday through DHL, via a lady i met on this platform. She made the whole waec request and stuffs on my behalf as i am based far away from Lagos. I was a bit scared (Trust - as i've never met her) but it turned out good. God bless you dear.

I had earlier wrote my IELTS but was unlucky. scored:

Speaking......7.5
Reading........7.0
Writing.........7.0
Listening.......7.0 cry cry

Was a big blow as i understand i needed "8" in Listening. That was my first attempt, but i'll go for it again. God go do am.

In any case, wanted to announce my official arrival to this family. Wish me well, welcome me and take me as one of yours. Our story shall eventually end in Praise.
