I understand personally what the struggle with being an introvert in this case is. Most families are bonded than others. Do not listen to those "are you getting married to the man or his family?". If you intend getting married to someone from a close tied family, you will have to take up the burden of strangling your weakness to a point you are able to show beyond your thoughts you can work within that environment. I reserve my comment at this junction because Favfables has just written the most sensible thing I could have written. Most people on Nairaland are kids or immature. You can't fight a family or relegate them and stay alone with your hubby or fiance alone. Family to a man is everything especially if they are very close..... remember some family aren't close......it's your job, a challenge to you the woman to try all your scheme and get them attracted to you....you can start and open up to a younger person in the family that would take you and maneuvre you through the other siblings....must be somebody in that family that you flow with atleast....penetrate that advantage and get it round the others.....take it as a labour and sacrifice of your love for your man....I tell you.....it's to your benefit at the long run.....I am talking from personal experience,

The solution is quite simple...
Work things out with his family, try and get close to them....

One of my friends celebrated her birthday recently.
I was lost in thoughts over what to buy for her.
So I surfed the internet and I saw a lot of suggestions.

I ended up getting a flower for her. I ordered the flower on an online flower shop and it was delivered to me.

On her birthday, I took the flower and went to her place. I presented it to her during the little birthday bash she organised.

To my utmost surprise, she and her friends looked at me with contempt. She was not happy I got the flower. It was glaring on her face.

I think this little girl is over bearing and must have been giving an undue petty treatment by her parents for her to even have the effrontery of not partaking in the house chore and also keeping malice with everybody in house including the parents. That's the height of irresponsibility by the parents. One thing is bringing up your kids religiously and another thing is bringing them up with love and respect. I guess not too late anyway, the parents needs a lot to do. First let them bring her down to their level and speak to her in love. Make sure she understands and also explain lives experiences to her and also lay your plans and your desire for her to succeed in life before her so that she would see what's infront of her. Make her choose a role model she likes among ladies of substance in Nigeria and instill it in her that they never get distracted like she wanted to do but focused on their ambitions....

She ain't beyond redemption as far as I can see....but your parents should instill respect and discipline in her and leave religion for now of they can't integrate religion and good behaviour together.....so much to say....God help you guys
